How you all doing? I'm having fun trying ;) but only day 19 and am queasy and swear my boobs feel bigger. Is that even possible?! Am i going mad? Time will tell I guess...

Good luck everyone

Who knows rocket, I'm quite sure I've been suffering with pregnancy symptoms since decide to ttc (even before having the implant removed). The brain does funny things to us! I don't have to worry about the breasts symptom though - mine still haven't recovered from pregnancy number 1 and are still bigger than pre-pregnancy due to still BF. I'm hoping that it doesn't interfere too much with my fertility - we're only on 1 - 2 short feeds a day now.

Coffee1Sugar · 12/05/2013 16:59

Hi ladies, nice weekend? I've spent it chauffeuring my 2.11yo to swimming and parties. My post-mirena withdrawal bleed was pathetic tbh, about two days of minimal bleeding and absolutely nothing since Friday am so tonight...let the games begin! Hope to dtd every other night with ovulation around the 21st. Excited this is the first real month of trying. Dd will be 3 in a fortnight, she's growing up rapidly which is really spurring me on tbh

Good luck Coffee!

I finally got a positive OPK so every night for the next three for us! DH is loving it!!

C999875 · 12/05/2013 19:41

People can choose to think what they please but it is my body and my choice and I can give it to who I please. of course you are free to luck down on me. However just remember anyone of you can become single and broody one day. Also I have been tested for STD'S and I have the all clear. I am not going to deny myself my dream of becoming a mum again because I am single. I could have came on here and been dishonest and said I have a partner I mean who would have known any different but why should I pretend to be something I am not. I am a hard working independent single mum and rightly or wrongly I am proud of that and why shouldn't I be. I have now got the picture that I am quite clearly not liked by certain people on here and fair enough but these comments are turning into personal verbal upsetting posts about me now and I would like them to stop. No disrespect at all to anyone but if you think I am the only single women sleeping around to get pregnant then you are very disillusioned. Anyway my period is here now so better luck for me next month. Good luck to all of you as well. xx

Monstamio · 12/05/2013 20:11

Becca it sounds like our cycles are in sync as I am also in the dtd zone (again no complaints from the dh!). Good luck over the next few days... it will be good to have a 2ww buddy later this month. I'm not the most patient person so will be looking for distractions Shock

Beccadugs · 12/05/2013 22:16

Hi Monstamio glad someone else will be on te 2ww too! I think it is going to be a nightmare as I know I only OVed today, but have been having symptoms already!! DH is going to think I am crazy!!

BNmum · 13/05/2013 08:47

Oh good luck girls! I hope everyone is well? Has there been any BFPs yet?
I think I saw someone make a reference to one but couldn't see anymore info. 2yo is scrambling over the top of me though so could have easily missed it.

I haven't been on for a few days while I have a strop about af is here. Well tbh I'm not sure it is af as its only visible first thing in the morning and while I wipe.

I've bought some OPK for next month but its just a waiting game for me at the minute until I know what's going on.

MushiMushi · 13/05/2013 08:58

Ooh everyone seems to be making a start then. Good luck on your 2ww!

I got a bit worried last night looking at my ovulation calendar app thing (yes, I went there). I have only just started making a note of my cycles, but if this cycle is the same length as my previous one I might have a luteal phase defect. I've counted only 8 days from ovulation to the date my period is due. Hopefully I've just got wonky cycles.

I think....I need to stop overthinking everything.

HungryHippo89 · 13/05/2013 09:36

Good Morning Ladies (old and new)

Good luck to all those who are in their fertile window!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

I think I am ovulating - Yesterday afternoon I was sat on the sofa and i was getting mild period type cramps on my right hand side. And then I had a terrible nights sleep with a horrible achey lower back and this morning so far I am still having the dull achey pains on the left side. Do you think it is even possible I had my implant removed on Wednesday last week ... Can i really be ovulating? still DTD last night incase I am

When are people POAS?

Goldenhandshake · 13/05/2013 10:32

Good morning all and welcome to those new to the thread :)

I have my hospital appt for 11th June, so looks like we can't ttc until late next month by the time the withdrawal bleed is over with etc Sad

Fingers crossed for all those ovulations at the moment!

GnomieGrace · 13/05/2013 11:13

Good luck to all those DTD! What are peoples thoughts on supplements ie Folic acid and vitamins I stopped taking the mini pill yesterday and are looking to TTC as soon as possible. I've read some good reviews that it benefits general health? Any thoughts either way?

Goldenhandshake · 13/05/2013 12:33

Gnomie I have been taking folic acid and vitamin D for the last month in preparation, and generally tried eating healthier with a good range of vegetables etc. I'm not too militant about it but figure it can't hurt Smile

HungryHippo89 · 13/05/2013 12:42

I am also another one taking folic acid - Which has reminded me I need to take todays.

Gnomie I would 100% recommend you take some kind of preconception vitamins. Folic acid helps prevents neural tube defects (SP?). Which includes Spina Bifida. I have an immediate family member with this and a more distant relative that has just had to have a termination at 23 weeks. Due to Spina Bifida and something else (water on the brain i think - I'm not too technical so I don't know). It just helps give your bean the best chances.

I've been on Dr Google for the pain i've mentioned up thread. I am sure i'm ovulating which is getting me a little bit excited. So after DTD yesterday I will also do it tonight, DP won't know what's hit him!

Since i don't know my cycles do you think it would be best to go with averages and expect AF around 27/28th ? God this stuff is sooo confusing!

1Catherine1 · 13/05/2013 12:43

Grace, Definitely be taking the folic acid, before conception and up to 12 weeks of pregnancy as it helps prevent certain birth defects - and as there is no down side to taking it (It is very cheap too) then there is really no reason not to. You will be told by every health specialist to. I'm taking vitamin D too but only because it tastes nice and I also read that it was recommended somewhere - I forget where though...

I say I'm taking it, thats kinda a fib because I constantly forget. I take it most days though.

Hippo It's perfectly possible I guess. I'm totally confused on my cycle as 5 days after finishing my 2 day period and I've got the same period like cramps. Quite uncomfortable too and my back pain is worse than ever. I'm a little concerned actually because my period was always quite regular (about every 28 days) but it doesn't make sense to be ovulating so soon for me. I'm thinking this returning to normal straight away thing with the implant is a lie!

Mushi - I also went there after I swore I wouldn't... You lot are a bad influence on me! That is what has got me worried about these pains being neither period pains nor ovulation pains.

GnomieGrace · 13/05/2013 13:17

Excellent advice, thanks everyone, also dropped into Boots and they have a deal got 3 packs of Pregnacare conception for £11! Usual pack price £8! So if you're running low I suggest a stock up!

itsnotrocketscience · 13/05/2013 16:38

well my symptoms were probably viral or imagined as I'm feeling much better now. feeling queasy over the weekend did make me have a bit of a wobble though, am I really choosing to do this all again? the puking, heartburn, aches and pains, worrying, labour, breastfeeding, night feeds...

I do definitely want another baby, just a bit apprehensive!

How long since your implant was out catherine? and how old is your child?

Definitely all take folic acid! if you have no risk factors take a normal prenatal vitamin, if any risk factors (on certain medications espec antiepileptics, family history neural tube defects, previous pregnancy neural tube defect) you need 5mg/day which is prescription only.

Coffee1Sugar · 13/05/2013 18:03

I'm taking Seven Seas Trying for a Baby which is folic acid, iron and vit D. Standard pre-conception stuff. I chose this brand as the packet is like a pill strip with named days so I don't forget!

1Catherine1 · 13/05/2013 18:03

implant has been out 2 weeks (although it feels like longer) and my DD is 2.

Chahroc · 13/05/2013 18:09

Hi everyone :)

Cherrybright · 13/05/2013 22:49

Hi ladies!! Hi chahroc
Its been a while since I said hi originally but thought I must drop in and see how you were all doing :)
Thanks for the info gnomie! I will be getting myself to boots tomorrow.
We will start ttc in the next week once af has gone... Its exciting :)

Coffee1Sugar · 14/05/2013 06:13

Dtd last night and (Vom alert) I've never experienced anything so lovingBlush. Dp is always super gentle and romantic but it felt "different". Wonder if it was the effect of both of us knowingly ttc. Anyway, both looking forward to more of that!

MushiMushi · 14/05/2013 08:13

Aww no coffee I know what you mean, it certainly ramps up the intensity knowing you're possibly making a baby!

I'll have you all know I woke up this morning with dreams still fresh in my memory....I was dreaming about cervixes?!!!! Hmmm.

C999875 · 14/05/2013 09:04

Like I said aunt Flow is here so to baby making for me for the time being. My most fertile days are from 22-26 May. I am going out on 24 May so that will be someone's lucky night! and hopefully I will get my BFP in June.

Coffee 1 sugar I wish I could be like you and connect sex with love kind of jealous TBH. It's wrong to say it but we can't help how we feel, but to me it's ( sex) just clinical with no emotions at all, not ideal but hopefully it will all be worth it. xx

BNmum · 14/05/2013 09:56

C999 I admire you for wanting to raise another child as a single parent but i feel i should be honest to you about my feelings on your whole situation. You have after all joined this thread for support and advice. I would like to stress from the start that i'm not trying to be bitchy or nasty with my comments and just trying to highlight the dangers that you are putting yourself and your unborn child under.

I feel this is especially poignant if you are not having sex with a stranger to engage in some sort of emotional level. If you see it as clinical why not go down a clinical route and use sperm donation? Surely this would be a safer option? You still have the opportunity to have a child but you can also ensure that you are not taken advantage of by a stranger and you can ensure that there are no unknown hereditary diseases passed on to your child. Also, a sperm donates knows that his 'deposit' may result in a child and is not being tricked into having an unwanted child with a stranger. Everyone's a winner.

It sounds like you don't have you issues with your current situation but I would urge you to please use this time you have before your next fertile window to look at all your options.
