Hi again, I was supposed to get my implant out today but the person doing it phoned in sick so its been postponed Biscuit. I think it will be 2 weeks today now before I get it taken out. I have been out and bought some folic acid today and started taking it though so getting ready!

So for stats, I'm 27, DP is 33, ttc DC2, we have a DD who is 2yo.

Last time we conceived DD within 2 months of having implant out, this time around though I'm not expecting it to be so fast.

I'm 33, DH also 33 and we're ttc #2. I have a very irregular cycle so I'm sure I will turn into a nutcase before long trying to predict ovulation dates etc. I think I'm on cd9 today.

I would like to join too please! Me and my OH are both 24 and started trying at the beginning of April. Been on the pill for 6 years so not sure when AF is due! We're really excited but I am so confused as to when I will be ovulating. AF would normally be due next week if I was still on the pill, will it still be the same time? So confused!

Is it bad that DH is of the opinion that we are just going to do away with contraception and see and not worry too much initially, and I am v familiar with my cycle, and know exactly when I OV etc. so will be making sure we DTD on those days??

We're going to try too... first time. I had the MMR vaccine a couple of weeks ago, because I'd only had one before, so now I have to wait four weeks before ttc, very frustrating!

Kellie04, I thought the way it works is usually when you stop the pill you get your 'fake' period quite soon after. Then as you're no longer taking the pill you ovulate. It's different for everyone how long it takes, but it probably won't match up with your old AF.

HungryHippo, I've had 3 different implants now and the removal is straightforward and as painful as the insertion.

They basically numb the area and then with a small scalpel make a small cut around the area of the implant and then with the tweezers type things, go in and pull it out. I would suggest not watching if you are squeamish because it isn't the most elegant procedure. The they bandage it up, the same way as they do when they put it in and suggest you take paracetamol in about 2 hours before the pain starts again.

Its a shame you have to wait so long to get an appointment, I phoned on Monday and got an appointment for Tuesday, it was then later cancelled by them, but thats beside the point Hmm. I have to make another appointment now for next week or the week after, only drawback is that they only do it on Tuesdays..

This baby thing is driving me mad already, I'm convinced I'm pregnant but I know I'm not (if that makes sense). I've only just started trying too! I wish my body would speak to me and tell me if I've even ovulated yet or not.

Kellie04 I think it depends on what pill you are on, I stopped taking my POP 2 weeks ago and still no AF but I think that's cause you ovulate first with no withdrawal bleed (not necessarily true in all cases) whereas the combined pill has a withdrawal bleed and then you start your cycle. I wouldn't expect your AF at the same time as you were on the pill either, could be late or early compared to that till your body settles into it's natural cycle.

My implant was a bit of a nightmare to come out.... I tried all kinds of contraception my body seems to repel it all hehe. My marina coil fell out in August!!! Went for usual smear and they were like Erm I need to get a doc never seen this before! Out there and then that was painfull. My body is weird. Little bit worried to concieve again tho as my first pregnancy was not very straight forward. Bleeding through out, and my daughter spontaneously arrive at 29+2!!! That's why iv waited so long I guess. Frightened x
