Thankyou, BNmum for your kind and supportive not judgemental words. xxx

HungryHippo89 · 14/05/2013 10:09

Well Ladies ... I think I am officially in my first 2ww - Is there anyone else out there in the 2ww? And when would everybody be testing?

Happy Tuesday everyone Grin

C999875 · 14/05/2013 10:35

Hi Hungary Hippo. I have just learned what 2ww. No I am not on my 2 week wait.

As you may have have read my earlier post I am going to flutter my eye lashes on 24 May, it's never not worked before. I am irresistable if I do say so my self. I will be testing 3 weeks later on 14 June, (if A.F has not arrived) as I was told that the best time to test is 3 weeks after making love.

A.F came on Sunday 12 May so my next one will be due 9 June. Hopefully she will not come though. Good luck to you as well. xxx

Beccadugs · 14/05/2013 10:40

Hi HungryHippo! I am also officially in my 2ww! Testing on 25th may (we go on holiday on 26th) and AF due 27th! So exciting, what about you? When are you testing?

BNmum · 14/05/2013 11:33

Eek! I'm so excited for you girls, fingers crossed.

Has Cristabell been on here lately? I'm sure we would have been testing sometime over the next couple of days. I've still got a light bleed but it hasn't developed into what I would call af. Sorry if TMI, it's enough to mark and liner and visible when I wipe but that's about it. I think I'll wait till the end of the week and if af hasn't properly kicked in, I'll POAS just in case (wishful thinking).

I've been taking my conception vitamins and I've got some OPKs ready for next month (so much for taking it easy and seeing how it goes). I'm pretty sure I've repeated what you guys already know but lo is at granny's today so I have a bit more time on my hands - bliss!

1Catherine1 · 14/05/2013 11:42

I guess I'm in the 2ww, but we haven't DTD in the last few days as everything is kinda stressful at home. Possible change in circumstances which may mean delaying ttc. I'm quite unhappy about it and conflicted. I always wanted to ttc when DD was 2 so that they wouldn't be too far in age gap but big enough. Seemed perfect to me. Idk though, I'm not sure what is for the best. They say it all works out in the end but perhaps it won't this time. Anyway - not to bring on a downer.

Exciting time for everyone - Good Luck!

BNmum · 14/05/2013 12:06

1Catherine1 I can see why you would feel unhappy about delaying ttc #2. Once you are in the ttc mindset it's difficult to think of anything else and really difficult when hurdles are placed in the way. Theres never a perfect time to have a child and no guarantee you would fall pregnant straightaway so do you think continuing ttc and seeing what happens is still an option? I hope it all works out well for you x

MrsLadyL · 14/05/2013 12:29

Only on CD3 can't wait till end of month ha. Hubby on holiday for fortnight so fingers crossed this with be the month X

Coffee1Sugar · 14/05/2013 15:47

CD7 here, time is slowing down!!

This is going to sound extremeyl dumb, but hey, I will open myself up to ridicule Wink DD was unplanned [blushed] so we have never actively TTC. Can someone please explain the following:

  1. All these acronyms? OPK, CD etc etc.
  2. How do I actually work out my cycle and ovulation days? Once this mirena is finally out and I ahve had the withdrawal bleed I'd like to have clue as to what is going on.

Thank you! Smile

Coffee1Sugar · 14/05/2013 16:56

Golden - are you me?! dd was a pill baby, total shock 3years ago. I had my mirena removed end of march and it took 6 weeks for any withdrawal bleed, though it was two days of minimal bleeding. Officially started ttc yesterday Grin. My gp said it can take 2-6weeks for a withdrawal bleed post-mirena. Good luck!

OP posts:
BNmum · 14/05/2013 17:52

Hi Golden, I was exactly the same when I first started looking on here and i still have to look up some acronyms. There's a link at the top of the page which is handy.
OPK - ovulation prediction kit
Cd - cycle day, cd1 would be your first day of bleed/af

Your ovulation date will depend on your cycle date, there's a ovulation calendar on the right hand side of this page which can give you a rough idea. You might need to have a few cycles once mirena has been removed to give you an idea of cycle length though. If you can't wait you could always use OPKs from cd10 and see what happens.

When do you get your mirena out?

Goldenhandshake · 14/05/2013 22:10

Thanks for clueing me in! Ive been feeling so stupid haha.

Mirena is being removed in hospital 11 june so am feeling very nervous Confused

CristaBell · 15/05/2013 00:00

I'm still here bnmum:) I'm awaiting AF to arrive in the next day or to as I missed my ovulation period for may.

I've brought some ovulation sticks and going to try the egg meets sperm plan for my next cycle (I learnt about this on another thread).

How are you and everyone else doing?

x

Monstamio · 15/05/2013 09:57

Morning ladies! Back from my hols now (wonderful time but not impressed to leave 28 degrees and land to 5!! Brr)

So I think I'm now joining HungryHippo, 1Catherine1 and beccadugs for the dreaded/exciting 2ww. Problem is, I can't be sure if/when I've ovulated. I'm assuming so as I've always been regular period-wise, but I haven't really had any symptoms. I've never had the kind of ovulation cramps which some people describe... is that just me? I've resisted doing body temping and using OPKs as it's only cycle one but will prob take it up if no joy this month.

Good luck to everyone dtding this week - enjoy! Grin

BNMum hoping that your spotting is just that and you'll have some good news in the next couple of days. Keep us posted!

1Catherine1 hope things will work themselves out over the next few weeks. It's a confusing time, but I am sure that things will work out for the beat. Trouble is you can never tell how long it's going to take to fall pg so it's so hard to plan everything else. Hope it's not causing too much stress.

HungryHippo89 · 15/05/2013 10:29

Morning Ladies,

1catherine - It's shit how things can change and make you wonder if expanding your family is a good idea. However things are always going to come up and give you a reason to put things on hold. I hope everything works itself out for you :)

Also I have found a website Don't blame me for getting addicted I found it yesterday and you can vote on the pee sticks wether you think they are positive or negative!! I am now totally obsessed with this website!! Thought I would share with other people. Lots of info too.

Also can you over dose on Folic acid ... I missed a few days at the weekend so i've been taking 2 for the last few days to make up for it?

Only 12 days till I can POAS!! Grin

C999875 · 15/05/2013 11:33

Good morning. I have a question. I hope it's not a stupid one, but here goes. I am taking folic acid, but should I also be taking seven seas trying for a baby as well or can it be one or the other. Thankyou in advance. xx

tinypolkadot · 15/05/2013 13:43

hi ladies, a quick update from me as I think I'm into the 2ww too!

my cycles are a little irregular and last month was 28 days, usually I'm 33 days, so wasn't sure when to expect to ov. had all the cramping signs around day 14 (last Fri) so think I might have ovulated then.

we dtd on the following sat (apologies for tmi) and I could feel dh on my cervix and it hurt so much! never experienced that before. I've been reading that a tender cervix can be a sign of ov too (maybe a sign of pg?)

so I've been imagining all sorts of symptoms from implantation pains to nausea. and today I even had a nice big blob of ewcm which is even more confusing.

I have even stopped getting the bus to work cos I'm paranoid about going over the speed bumps (very bumpy at the back of the bus!) and rattling everything about down there!

good luck to everyone else on the 2ww would love to hear about everyone else's phantom symptoms!

c99 I think there is a recommended dose of folic per day, so maybe just take one or the other?

Coffee1Sugar · 15/05/2013 13:46

C99 - I'm taking seven seas trying for a baby but that includes the recommended frolic acid so no need to take both

OP posts:
Monstamio · 15/05/2013 14:28

HungryHippo Don't think you can overdose on folic acid as such. People with a history of neural tube defects (eg with a previous pregnancy) take about ten times the standard dose (on prescription). Having said that, little and often is probably the best policy (she says... fully admiting to having also missed and doubled up doses this month!!)

GnomieGrace · 15/05/2013 17:18

Well came off Cerrazette at the weekend, took my last pill on Saturday and started a bleed today, am away from home with work and completely forgot to pack any tampons etc so had to trek out to the local pharmacy! Classic. This would probably be a withdrawal bleed rather than a proper period right? Should I start DTD after anyway just in case? Was planning to just do it every other day as a scattergun approach!

Also went to my family planning clinic to have a chat and she said I should try straight away as I had no time to loose being 29! I didn't think that I was on the particularly late side of starting a family? Am I wrong? When did you all have your first?

I'm off to see if this hotel does huge Ice-cream sundaes with extra chocolate sauce!
Smile

tinypolkadot · 15/05/2013 17:35

hi gnomie that was a bit cheeky of them, we've just started trying for number one and I'm 30. I'm with u - I didn't think that was old these days.

Mmm, I could murder a chocolate sundae! It's a microwave meal for one for me as dh is working away for the rest of the week now. I think baby making for this month is over!

BNmum · 15/05/2013 19:56

Blah! 29 is no age, cheeky bugger! I was 29 when I had #1 so I obviously think its a great time to ttc.

Hi Cristabell, I also saw the egg meets sperm thread. I've download it from iBooks and plan to read it when I have some spare time.

I've started OPKs as I've no idea if spotting was actual af, if it was then I'm on cd12 (I think). If not I'm just pissing money away until af arrives Hmm

Have you still got a tender cervix tiny or was it a one off?

tinypolkadot · 15/05/2013 20:47

hi bn it was a one off I think, and I am monitoring it just incase something else might be up. We dtd again last night and i was a little worried it would happen again so that affected things a bit for me. It got a little uncomfortable at one point but nothing like Saturday. Really hope it's nothing to worry about!

CristaBell · 15/05/2013 22:37

tiny you made me giggle when you mentioned about the bus! I cycle to work and when I was on my 2ww in March I started avoiding bumps and lifting my bum off the saddle when I went over any cobbles!!

gnomie I'm 29 (nearly 30) and feel i'm a good age, I would of liked to start a family sooner but I don't think were old (30 is the new 21) Grin

bnmum i'll have a look on ibook to see if I can see the book, I've just updated my brick to a phone I can download apps :)

Anyone testing soon?

x
