Clinic - probably wisely said just wait and see. I am too internet happy. Fortunately my sis doesn't use internet

Thanks so much for getting back. I'm just praying for a miracle

Will let you know

Cll · 05/08/2004 15:08

Well that's it - bad news. Levels have dropped to 35. Clinic are saying kep taking progesterone and go in for anoter blood test on Monday but I've told her to stop hoping. Big decision is whether to go again - and if so which clinic to choose. She's 42, single so needs donor sperm (anonymous) so Lister won't do her. IS it that her eggs are just too old and will never develop - this time she had three grade 1 6 cellers at 3 days..........and had done everything right. It's just - as you all know - so unfair. Thanks to all for support

Portree · 11/08/2004 15:21

Cll, so sorry to hear of your sister's disappointing news. It's a wretched process and often there seems no rhyme nor reason why an otherwise textbook cycle fails. Certainly egg quality declines with age. But your sister did manage to get pg, cold comfort I know. Your sister may find a clinic overseas more receptive to her needs, perhaps in Spain or Brussels. Sometimes UK clinics have relationships with clinics in Europe. Fraid I don't really know much more on this area. I do with her luck.

DelGirl · 11/08/2004 17:41

Well, I was going to leave it for a while but MN has got the better of me. Tested twice, couldn't wait for today and tested early on Monday and again today and both times have had a BFP . A bit nervous but laid back at the same time if that's possible. It hasn't quite sunk in yet. That's 5 cycles, 3 pg in a row, last 2 ended in m/c, but NOT this one!!!

Portree · 11/08/2004 18:25

DelGirl, don't 'know' you but congratulations - you are PREGNANT! Wishing you all the best.

Cadbury · 11/08/2004 18:38

oh Delgirl that is fantastic news!! I am just SO pleased for you

DelGirl · 11/08/2004 19:03

awww, thanks everyone. I have had some, understandably, mixed reactions from people in RL so it's nice to get some positive vibes from people on here. It's better than RL imo

Bakedbean · 12/08/2004 09:21

motherinferior · 12/08/2004 09:23

That is such fabulous fabulous news - have followed your story on a few threads, this has brought a big smile to my face. Congratulations and good luck.

testtubebaby · 12/08/2004 12:05

Yeehah! Fantastic news DG, have been thinking about you for the past couple of weeks and watching for an announcement. That nurse was right about handing back the drugs! Keep us updated.

DelGirl · 12/08/2004 12:54

oh, it's so nice to come hope to some lovely posts. I'm really chuffed. Have felt as sick as a dog this morning but I know it's a good sign. Any suggestions for some low cal food to help with the m/s?

DelGirl · 12/08/2004 12:55

that's home not hope!

Portree · 12/08/2004 13:32

I didn't get much m/s so can't really help apart from to suggest sipping hot water. Worked for me. Also those elastic accupressure wrist bands worked too.

DelGirl · 12/08/2004 13:33

thanks Portree, I'll give it a try

BeckiF · 13/08/2004 13:03

Hi DelGirl! Have your clinic confirmed the pg?? I only ask as I was told by my clinic that when we start the IVF not to use the home pg tests as the drugs that they will give me to jolly the pg along contian elel=ments that could give me a false positive. Not trying to upset you at all, but want you to be sure.

DelGirl · 13/08/2004 15:49

Hi Beckif, the drugs are well out of your system after 14 days, hence the 2 week wait.

Canadianmom · 13/08/2004 16:46

Yeah! I am so happy for you. Who cares what people in the RW say?!? You are the only person who lives your life!

juicebomb · 21/08/2004 18:58

Hi Del Girl

Just clicked on to this thread in the hope that I would hear some great news and yes, there it is. Am so delighted for you. Even tho I have not been in contact for a while, you have been in my head and I'm thrilled skinny for ya. My sis is in the middle of her treatment, started the injections yesterday. She's all over the place emotionally but is keeping a brave face on things.
I really wish you all the luck in the world DelGirl. You soooo deserve this success. Keep me posted and don't forget, you've got so many good wishes and positive vibes winging their way to you. You cannot fail this time and you won't.
Love and .

DelGirl · 29/08/2004 21:40

Just seen this one too (obviously) thank you so much Juicebomb. It's so lovely to have some positive thoughts. My family are pleased, cautious but pleased. However some friends in RL have acted a bit strange towards me and its a bit upsetting. I think, I hope, it's because they're concerned for my sanity probably but I just wish they could hide their fears and be happy for me. I have my 1st scan in a weeks time so I will post after that, fingers crossed.

lou33 · 29/08/2004 22:10

How many weeks are you now dg?

DelGirl · 29/08/2004 22:22
