Well ladies, it looks like I'm joining this list, I have just taken a call from my Gynie, who has said she is finally refering me to Tony Rutherford and crew at LGI in Leeds, I am scared stiff, I'm currently on CD30 with very sore boobs, did a PG test this morning and was neg, maybe i'll just sit back and give in for a bit.

OldieMum · 29/06/2004 16:09

Thanks to all of you who wished me luck. It didn't work. Now we've used up all our frozen embryos and I'm already 42, so we have to decide whether to go for another fresh cycle, or to call it a day and be content with our lovely dd.

CookieMonster · 29/06/2004 16:16

malinki, if you want to contact me any time via Contact Another Talker please do ... I'm very happy to tell you all I can about Tony Rutherford and the ACU at the LGI ..

CookieMonster · 29/06/2004 16:17

OldieMum, I'm sorry to hear your news and what a dificult decision to have to make. Give yourselves a bit of time to think about it and I'm sure you'll do the right thing. Hugs CM

elliott · 29/06/2004 16:18

Oldiemum, I'm so sorry. Its a tough decision you're facing now. I'm lucky enough to have two lovely boys from IVF and I feel for you.

DelGirl · 29/06/2004 19:32

Oldiemum, sorry to hear this. Like cookiemonster says, give yourself some time to decide.

DelGirl · 29/06/2004 19:36

Can I just say - i'm starting my 5th round of IUI tommorrow, help! I feel quite focused but am quite nervous too. Last 2 ended in m/c and I only have enough of late dh sperm left for 2 more go's. Wish me luck please everyone. Have no other children and getting to the end of the road. Must stay positive and keep most things crossed! Here we ,or I, go again!

lou33 · 29/06/2004 19:42

Thanks CM, need all the luck I can get hold of!

Bakedbean · 30/06/2004 17:25

I just 'met' Delgirl on another thread! Wish I'd had this a few months ago, but to all those out there who are thinking about trying IVF - go for it - it is stressful but as I sit here today 12 weeks pregnant after trying naturally for 6 years, I couldn't recommend it enough!

Good luck to everyone who is trying!

DelGirl · 14/07/2004 15:20

Thought I'd revive this thread to say to anyone who's interested that I had my 1st scan this morning and all is looking good. Well as much as ovaries can . I have 1 follicle so far, it's under 10mm but it's there, which is pretty good as i'm only day 5. Not going to be scanned again until next Wednesday now as i'm a bit of a slow one! Please please please let this be the one

CookieMonster · 14/07/2004 15:22

that's great news Delgirl and I for one have everything crossed hoping that this is "the one". Best wishes CM xx

DelGirl · 14/07/2004 15:45

Thanks CM! I'm pleased but know it's a long long road!

Bakedbean · 14/07/2004 16:01

That's really good news Delgirl! Will keep everything crossed for you and let us know how you're getting on!

lou33 · 14/07/2004 16:11

Hoping and wishing DG

DelGirl · 14/07/2004 16:35

Thank you Lou and Bakedbean.

How are things going for you BB?

Flumpette · 15/07/2004 20:57

Hello All - just wanted to give my support and a positive message - without giving false hope. Found out just over a year ago that I am infertile. I was green with envy at how easy it is for some and really didn't imagine that I'd ever be a Mum. Now have a 4 month baby and we are still pinching ourselves. IVF is cruel as it makes one feel and look pregnant with the drugs taken, but it does and can work - we are living proof. So, to all of you who are pregnant, Congratulations and for those of you on the roller coaster ride - I appreciate how hard it is but truly hope you will be blessed with a child. x

Bakedbean · 19/07/2004 12:56

Hi Delgirl - really well thanks. Am feeling much better now. How are you feeling? Good luck for Wednesday!

malinki · 19/07/2004 13:12

Flumpette, thanks for your message, I thought I was going to cry (must be my hormones), just waiting for a date to see the IVF guys at LGI in Leeds, they have my confirmation letter of my address (all though I don't know why they wanted it), had a nice letter from outpatients saying they were dealing with my appointment and would get back to me with a date,

nannyjayne · 19/07/2004 15:47

Hi Delgirl I have just finished ivf 1st go not successful i think but i want to let you know i'm thinking of you and praying for your success xx

Delgirl · 19/07/2004 15:55

I'm really sorry to hear that Nannyjayne, it's so hard having to go through it all. Do test again in a couple of day's though, you never know. Will you be able to try again if needs be?

Thank you for your good wishes and to you Bakedbean, glad you are feeling better.

I have another scan on Monday, which reminds me, I need to ring the hospital. I'm hoping I may have the deed done at the end of next week as they started me on a higher dose this time. Will keep you posted.

Delgirl · 21/07/2004 14:07

This thread is jumbled same as the others. Oh well. Had 2nd scan today and feel a bit deflated, much like my bits . There are a few follicles but not a great size yet. I really should be used to this by now, I take ages to stim but somehow it's always upsetting cos I feel like my body is letting me down . Just have to keep on keepin on and hope that the next scan is an improvement, booked for Monday.

Bakedbean · 22/07/2004 10:53

Hi Delgirl....sorry you're feeling a bit down. It must be hard - but even if it takes your bod a while to get going - as long as it does eventually! It only takes the one healthy one!! I produced quite a few follicles (think they removed 18 on the day) but only 9 were healthy enough to be fertilised and only 4 did fertilise. That was obviously still a nice amount but just remember that it's quality not quantity!
