We've run out of room on Karbea's Jan IVF thread and it is too much fun to stop! We're all getting into comfy clothes and enjoying the side effects and surprises (and occasionally some hand holding).

tilly welcome to the four egg club. I just hope I have the same fertilisation rate as you cos 100% is really fab. I think keep had a 100% strike rate too so, I'll have a bit of whatever you two are taking Grin. Sounds like you have had a bit of a time of it though with various issues. You must be pleased to get to this point.

shazza fish and chippy chips for dinner. Nomnomnom. It was bloody lovely.

dildals your pant dilemma did make me giggle. All this can make us fixate on the funniest things, can't it ?

Noks x

Nokkie73 · 14/03/2013 20:29

scarlett best of luck my love. Xxx

EuroShaggleton · 14/03/2013 21:13

Tilly I think the comment was a reference to shazz's BFP as she was downregging! She won the TTC lottery. :)

Interesting articles Scarlett and they fit with what my clinic said (unsurprisingly as the the clinic director is quoted in one of them).

Karbea · 14/03/2013 21:18

Evening all,

I've had a bad diet day (loads of biscuits), I feel like chucking them out, they are a massive box from ikea and I'm addicted to them :(

We had our planning permission granted today, but I don't really know what it means :/
My theory is everyone gets pregnant on Grand Designs!

Shazzamattazzerly · 14/03/2013 22:24

Hello wolf pack!

Tilly, as Euro said after 2.5 yrs TTC I got knocked up at the very last minute 9 days into DR. Apparently we had a 5% chance so it was a shock. And a miracle. That was a week ago. I'm thrilled obv but also overwhelmed and bewildered. And very very anxious. Mentalling like a crazy woman.

Sounds like you have also come a long way. Well done for getting here. Fingers crossed for you. When is your OTD. Did I miss that bit?

Scarlett I'm sorry you are having a hard time sweetie. I wish you peace of mind and the very best of luck wherever you decide to go from here. Loads of love.

Noks fish n chips? Lush! I'm really hoping Mr Ns swimmers are doing their thing as we speak. I'm at guys again tomorrow morning so I'll pop in and give your embies a wave.

Euro how are you?

Choco are you around? How do you feel about OTD tomorrow? I'm really hoping for a bfp for you honey.

Karbea step away from the biscuits!

Everyone else ok?

Me and the shazlett are going to go to bed. I was awake so early this morning I need a few zzz's

A demain mes amies.

Shazza xxxSmile

HontyTont · 14/03/2013 22:53

Hi all...just wanted to say I'm still here...but lurking now. Next clinic appt isn't until June to discuss next cycle. So it's back to TTC for us for now

Good luck and I will be checking in on you from time to time

Thanks so much for the support you have all been fab

Xxxxx

keepitgoing · 15/03/2013 02:24

nok well done on the four eggs! Twasnt me with 100% fertilisation, I think it was north. I had 7/11, which is about average I think. 1 put back, 3 frosties. Glad mrNok was happy with his contribution, mrKeep kept saying he could have done better. But I was still in recovery, so expect he wasn't feeling all that relaxed. Can't wait to hear about your fertilisation.

Hi Tilly, I'm on the tww as well. OTD is a week today, I just had one blast put back on Wednesday. Wtaf about the letter. Ring them, woman, they're your embryos!

choco good luck for this morning x

shaz am sure all will be fine with the bloods. What did they have to say about the down reg drugs?

keepitgoing · 15/03/2013 02:33

To add to the boob chat, I don't need the subtle arm manoeuvre (which I have used in many a previous cycle) because I can feel them ALL THE BLOOMING TIME.

euro hope the worst is over now BTW. Do they do a scan to check it's all gone? Sorry if that's too personal.

hont good to see you. I can't believe your next cycle review appointment isn't until June! Mine is on OTD. I think I'll find it a shock coming back to the uk, even private medicine there has waits.

On the down side, the crappy pound has made this cycle a lot more expensive than if we'd done it 3 months ago, grr. Our insurance has a cap per cycle, but realize we are v fortunate to have that.

OK, will stop blathering on about me and think about getting up. Will be checking in for shaz, nok and choco news. Big day in here!

TillyToffee · 15/03/2013 09:26

Morning everyone! So much going on with such a relatively small group of women. There really are so many possible outcomes.

Shazza no wonder you're a celeb, that's amazing! I can understand why you're feeling a bit bewildered all the same. Hope you're feeling well today.

Hont good luck between now and June. Hope you're feeling okay.

I am full expecting this (first) cycle not to work so am wondering when I'll be able to go again. I think this time I'll book some proper time off work and plan it all a bit better now that I know what to expect.

Keep Test is on Tuesday. I got the last appt of the day, 5.45 so that my husband can come with me (he's a teacher and the head is giving him a hard time about taking time off for our appts. Understandable but next time we'll do it in the summer holidays to avoid her wrath). I don't think I'm prepared for how disappointed I'll feel if we get a BFN.

Apart from being quite sleepy and having the usual aches and pains which I get month-round anyway with endometriosis, I've been okay so far but last night I had a bit of a cry and wanted my mum so between the hormones and the waiting it's beginning to get to me!

In other news I rang the clinic and left a msg to find out about whether we've got anything in the freezer. You are all so right, a letter is ridiculous.

keepitgoing · 15/03/2013 09:58

That's tough for your dh, Tilly, that work haven't been supportive. Are you thinking to test at home, or just wait for that appointment. Is it a blood test? Will you get the results that evening? That'll be a tough day waiting.

chocoloco1 · 15/03/2013 10:00

Hello ladies, hope you are all ok this morning. I'm at work, so I've only got time for a short post, and I PROMISE I'll come on here later and catch up properly with you all.

Well, somehow I appear to have got a BFP this morning...

keepitgoing · 15/03/2013 10:02

OMG choco!!!! Grin Grin thanks for coming to tell us!

TillyToffee · 15/03/2013 10:19

Oh choco how exciting! Keep us updated! Grin

Keep Er, I dunno whether it's a blood test or when I'll get the results Blush We just turn up to our appointments and do as we're told! I think I've been avoiding finding out too much in case it all comes to an abrupt end at any point.

DH will be fine at work - they are so unionised and I write all his emails for him - cleverly worded - because I work in HR so I throw in phrases like "reasonable time off" and other veiled references to the Equality Act Wink

EuroShaggleton · 15/03/2013 10:54

choco woo hoo! That's brilliant.

keep I'm not sure. I have avoided drs until now, but I have an appt tomorrow morning. It was to get a referral for an ERPC so I had it in hand in case I needed it, but I think I'll go along anyway to see if there is anything I should be doing.

karbea good luck with your grand designs.

Tilly I hope the clinic is responsive now and doesn't send a carrier pigeon or something.

Dildals · 15/03/2013 11:52

Tilly Maybe it is a mormon clinic and they can't use the phone? Or would IVF be against Mormon rules full stop, hmm.

choco FAB NEWS!

Nokkie73 · 15/03/2013 12:43

choco OMG that is such wonderful news. Well done ! Grin. Am really so pleased for you. Will post more congratulations later as am at work but that's bloody awesome.

honts lovely to hear from you love. I hope that with each day, things get a bit better.

shazza any news love ?

Everyone else, you know how much I adore you all but can't be long on here as i am back at work before my two weeks off and trying to sort through the shite i've just not got round to doing. But.........

We only went and got ourselves four eggs fertilised. Grin I am so so so happy. I know many others wouldn't take these odds (in terms of how many eggs we had collected, which is fine but on the low side), but give them to me any day of the week. They actually got a fifth egg but didn't say anything as they weren't sure whether it was viable (or something - tbh, stopped listening after they said four fertilised). Back in on Sunday for EC, or if they're pleased with them on Sunday, the may keep them and pop them back in on Tuesday.

I'm obviously stupidly excited but know I've got a long way to go, and how precarious it all is. I just really didn't know whether we would get to this point so it's such a relief that we have.

Will do a more detailed post later. Lots of love

Noks

P.s. keeps where's my bloody pad Thai Grin

keepitgoing · 15/03/2013 12:52

WHERE'S nok?!?! How many zygotes - get me and the lingo - do you have?

Tilly so they don't answer the phone either?! Glad you're there to scare sort out dh's boss.

euro what's the betting the GP won't know, will fumble around and then have to ring you later with the real answer. I think we all sadly know more about fertility and tests than the average GP.

Also hi north, not seen you for a while. Hope you can do your FET soon.

keepitgoing · 15/03/2013 12:55

Oh there you are!! Brilliant news, that's a massive hurdle. I know what you mean, I thought we'd get none fertilise too, as we prob never have before. 100%!! Quality not quantity!! :) well done you and mrNok. You're taking the full two weeks off then? Plenty of time for mindless chatter then...

Nokkie73 · 15/03/2013 13:11

Haha ! Boss popped out so back in the ole ipaddy.

Keep too right I shall have plenty of time over the weeks for for a bit of chit chatting, or shit shatting, as Alan Partridge says. However, I need to keep my strength up so where's my bloody pad Thai ? I'll barely have the strength to type unless you get a wriggle on. Grin

Nokkie73 · 15/03/2013 13:13

Ps - why didn't any of you mention the endless lady garden gunk from these fecking pessaries ? Wink

TillyToffee · 15/03/2013 13:17

Stick em up your arse, it's BRILLIANT!

Nokkie73 · 15/03/2013 13:22

tilly ok. I am now VERY impressed with your random sailor-like swearing. As for the actual suggestion itself, I did that with the pain relief yesterday and felt like I was going to shit through the eye of a needle all day. So, I they shall be going via the front entrance all the way. May be a bit different when I'm at home all day though.....

EuroShaggleton · 15/03/2013 13:42

Tilly that is far too much enthusiasm....

Noks that's brilliant!

keep I'm only going to see if the GP will refer me for a scan to see if everything has gone. I'm not expecting him to actually know anything.

honts June is a long time to wait! Mr Euro is supposed to be calling our clinic yesterday, sigh today to see when we can get in.

TillyToffee · 15/03/2013 14:10

It's true, I much prefer medicating "the French way" Smile

I had a bath today and I've felt guilty ever since. Is it really bad to have a bath? I just felt so minging and needed to shave my legs which had turned into a pair of prickly decoupaged logs. Now I feel like I've smoked crack or something...
