TTC #2 and turning into a nut job!

Ladies, bring me back down to Earth before it's too late! I'm TTC #2 and its only the 2nd cycle and I'm already doing my own head in not to mention my OH.....we're not the kind of couple to have regular sex when not TTC (much to my disappointment ) so it's a real effort for DS to, erm, pull his finger out as it were and DTD every other day. With DS1 I had no idea about CM and OPKs and just used an ovulation calendar for timing but this time round I'm in danger of falling into the OPK trap! I'm aware of my constant whittling and DH even said that he hopes I get pregnant this month so he doesn't have to listen to me begging for him to do it just one more time! Anyone in the same boat?

Grrr I've opk twice today as the first time I forgot to go back in the barhroom to check and I've now realised I've done the same with test number 2. So I'll try to do better tomorrow!

It's definitely AF abi! It's much heavier and crampy than usual too... especially for my first day. I normally get some spotting 1 day before AF, then light on day 1 and moderate on day 2! This time I didn't have any warning...just full on AF! It's annoying cos since I came off the pill in December I've had perfect 28 day cycles that were light and painless. This month was a 25 day cycle that is heavy and painful! Why do so many of us get f*@& up cycles exactly when we start TTC?

Hi I was on hols last month and got thrush so went to pharmacy and got the 500mg pessary. By the next morning I was bleeding bright red watery blood quite heavy. I used the pessary. On Thursday morning and started bleeding slightly that evening by the morning it was heavy and it didn't stop until the wed. I'm currently on 2nd month ttc and I ovulated the day I used the pessary (Thursday) but we did the deed mon,tue,wed. I was just wondering if all of your periods came on time as I'm now 3days late bfn and getting frustrated as I'm always on the dot on time. Is it the pessary that's causing my period to be late and if do when should I expect af to turn up.

Awwww yayh stone whip out those womanly whiles that us women have!! Hope you get to pounce your DH later what cd are you now? Just curious! ! Not entirely sure whether I ov when I think I do!?!

km1987 hi! Not entirely sure?! Have you rung your doc to ask? You could also google that exact question it may come up with something! I think you cant use the pessary when pg, just the cream for the external itch but dont know how that fairs if ttc?! Any other ladies know? My af can sometimes be late due to stress so it might just be that that has delayed it. I hope that helps.

abi I'm on cd17. When we were ttc for DS my gp told me that you always ov 14 before af is due. It has always been the case for me (today is my 14th days before af)

Ahhhh ninu I know what you mean, I was having 28 cycles then now they are either a little early (doesnt happen often) or late so its higgledy piggledy for me too!! I think our bodies like to keep us on our toes eh!

stone thats really helpful to know, so the leutal phase should always be 14days then! ! I thought that it was but you never know with so much that you read online it gets so confusing! New cycle, onwards and upwards lovely!

So im cd20 and my af should be next tuesday although im hoping for good reasons it doesnt show up

I too had read that your luteal phase is generally the same length every month, and that if af turns up late, its normally because of late ov. BUT if i go by the opk's ive done the last 2 months, both times show ov on cd14. The first month the luteal phase would have been 13 days (27 day cycle) but last month i was 2 days late making it 15 days (29 day cycle)

Ive got some clearblue smilies ordered for this month so im quite looking forward to seeing when it will be this time round.

Im good thanks abi . Cd 6 so waiting for dh to get home from his work trip on thursday to get cracking with dtd. Not sure yet what our plan is this month yet, just dtd as much as possible as much as he can manage and hope he doesnt need to work away next week and has some energy left for when i get my smiley face!

Well I am on cd13 which is usually past ovulation for me - cycle previous 3 months has been 26 days, 24, 25 which means I am into the 2ww. However, not going to get excited this month - DH and I just had a hectic week and only managed to dtd once on cd11! Not getting hopes up - next month we are in Spain for ov and the days before it so will def be attempting to make up for this month's shoddy efforts!

Didn't do it last night. I'll speak to him tonight.

How long is the 'expected life' of sperm?

stone as far as I know expected life of sperm on any normal day during the month is 3 days minimum. Around ov with the ewcm it can be more! Deffo speak to DH if he wants this just as much as you then he should put in the effort at the beginning, lets face it they get the easy bit, we have to grow the baby, and be in pain to bring it into the world!! Hope you get something sorted lovely.

bartbaby hoping all goes well with the dtd plans/idea's and hope that DH has the energy to respond well! Keeping all pinkies crossed for you for this cycle! My af is due roughly next tuesday so a weeks time! Im gonna be really good and not POAS if I can help it until then if af doesnt turn up! Did have another dtd session planned for tomorrow, but keep getting tummy twinges so not sure we should dtd at all till possible af or something turns up, what do you think? I dont want to damage anything.. ahhhh I have just confused myself!!

My OH and I have decided to quit in dtd, nit because he wants to, but he was feeling poorly last night and im worried about damaging anything as am having some peculiar pains in my abdomen :0/ so have a bout a week to wait instead of two! :0)

He did answered back 'okay' so I was a bit worried but we dtd at the end so now I just have to wait the end of 2ww (23 June). It's going to be a looooong wait

abi fx your dtd will pay off and if you carry on been unwell go and get checked!

Thank lovely, its probably just because I have a tilted cervix and cervical erosion, have it a fair few times and whenever I have had it checked out its just been the erosion! ! Im pinkie crossing for myself that af doesnt arrive at all!!!

I think I'm on cd10....although should I count from the day I first got a bit of spotting, which would make me cd12? Either way DH is away until Friday and I have my OPK's all ready! Haven't really used them properly yet...what day do most of you start using them?

Im cd8 and started using my internet cheapy opk's today. Really for just in case though. Ive got some clearblue smilies that i will start from cd10. The past 2 months ive ov on cd14 so its a few days before. What are your cycles normally like?

I think i should ov around tuesday (base on last 2 months) but dh just informed me that he is working away monday. He will be back tuesday night (probably tired) and then back away wednesday morning friday! So probably wont be able to dtd after sunday

Fingers crossed for both of you abi and stone hopefully neither of you will get your AF this month.

I am doing ok on the no alcohol this month, had a drink on Friday but I figure the occaisional one won't hurt I am not using the monitor this month, just sticking with dtd every 2-3 days. And hoping that when AF does turn up I can get into the docs for my tests. DH hasn't booked in for his I am hesitant to nag though, how often is too often to bring it up d'you think?

My sister had her 12 week scan today so that is all seeming a bit more real. At least I didn't cry this time

talla how often have you asked him already? Wait that AF turns up (hopefully it won't) and remind him that you're having your test done and that he needs to do the same to sync the action plan?

Im hoping the 'little fellas' will still be good from saturday and sunday. dc#1 wakes us up at varying times on a morning so never get chance to then! lol.

Thats often just how things work out i suppose. There's others in a similar boat aswell so i cant really complain as still could be in with a chance anyway all be it a slimmer one

Thanks bart...I think I'll start using them Friday then which will be cd12. I'm normally a 30 day cycle so that should be ok shouldnt it? That's annoying when DH is away...you could try for Wednesday morning like stone said. Mornings are useless for us as DD always ends up in our bed before the morning!
