TTC #2 and turning into a nut job!

gemmeg · 18/02/2013 07:13

Ladies, bring me back down to Earth before it's too late! I'm TTC #2 and its only the 2nd cycle and I'm already doing my own head in not to mention my OH.....we're not the kind of couple to have regular sex when not TTC (much to my disappointment Sad) so it's a real effort for DS to, erm, pull his finger out as it were and DTD every other day. With DS1 I had no idea about CM and OPKs and just used an ovulation calendar for timing but this time round I'm in danger of falling into the OPK trap! I'm aware of my constant whittling and DH even said that he hopes I get pregnant this month so he doesn't have to listen to me begging for him to do it just one more time! Anyone in the same boat?

Thanks Stone Smile

Ooh, Smidge I would be trying very hard not to think about implantation bleeding too in your position Wink

Hello Babyrose, I'm new too. Day 17 for me, so I am in the dreaded two week wait. Testing next Sunday if no period by then. Although I got a BFP ten days after ov with DD and that would be Thursday

AbiBub · 16/05/2013 23:42

Evening Ladies!

bartbaby waiting for ov is always a pain, hope it arrives soon for you!
Talla That's a good amount of dtd, the let down feeling is never a good one but don't give up hope, we are keeping pinkies crossed for you. Do let us know how the 24th goes?

Attila - welcome to the nutters thread! hope this thread gives you comfort and a good place to vent should you need it! I do the possible due date every month also, try and sit on those hands a little bit longer if you can!
babyrose Welcome also! hope the fertile window and dtd works wonders for you this month, a hopeful feeling is always a good one Smile and non-planned dtd often works better than planned, bcos often you are more relaxed, which really does help, as this is what happened when I fell pg with our DS!

smidge I know exactly what you mean about trying to not think about implantation bleeding, so we shall keep our pinkies crossed and hope to for you that it is, so you don't have to think about it Wink

mummy glad you are feeling better about it all this time, positive thoughts are a good way to go, releasing all those happy endorphins will deffo help for sure! What makes you think your dates are out a bit?

stone I got ov pains when I came off the pill, and it's the strangest feeling when you haven't had them for a while, sounds like you are becoming really in tune with your body, and it's good that your body is letter you know too :0)

winter how are you feeling? Hope that all goes well with the scan, will you let us know how you get on? Smile would love to hear your news. Hugz :0)

gemmeg last but by no means least our OP! Grin Yayh to the heartbeat!! Smile it's the loveliest thing isn't it! Internal scans are always fun aren't they (not!!). The last one I had was not the most comfortablest, you would have thought the woman was mining for bl**dy gold!! next thing you know it will be 3 weeks time before you know it! Bleugh to the blood tests, I hate those!! they can never find a vain with me, and I bruise like a peach!! you have my sympathies for sure! The hunger thing, yep I remember that one very well, more so in the beginning, luckily I was picking up things like apples, and having lot's of porridge and cheese sarnies Grin.

Well, I hold my hands up to it Blush I POAS this morning using one of winters tests (obv not used ones, ha ha, I just read that back!!) if I did ov around sat4th (the only day I didn't use a bloomin' ov test!) then I would be 12dpo. I only did it, as I have had nausea and tender bb's these last couple of days, along with a few little twingy pains here and there, and a bit of backache. But half if not all of those symptoms could be AF signs too, and this evening I have dullish achey pains, so I'm dreading my AF appearing now Sad the test showed up what both my OH and I thought was an extremely faint pink line (but that could have been the rose coloured glasses we put on just before reading the test Confused ) Plus, if last month is anything to go by then it could well just be another chem pg. I'm trying to keep myself occupied (I've actually done all my hours for the week, and filled out and filed my tax return!!). I guess if my AF doesn't turn up by sunday (which I think it will) then I will do a test then, that way that's 3 full days after the test this morning. I'm not holding up much hope though. I guess we shall wait and see? :0/

Sorry for the long post, whenever I am not on here for a while, lots of posts come up, and I like to try and say hi to everyone if I can!

Plans for the weekend ladies? Smile

StoneBaby · 17/05/2013 07:51

So we didn't do it last night as I was already asleep by the time DH went to bed Blush I'll try harder to stay awake tonight. But not counting my chickens this month.

abi fx it'll be your month

Mummytothearkbuilder · 17/05/2013 07:52

winter good luck for today lovely - I will be thinking of you.

abi I have long and irregular cycles so I am never due AF at the same time which makes dating pregancy hard. When I was pregnant with DS I thought I was 6 weeks and I was 8.5 weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if I go next Friday thinking I'm 6-7 weeks and I am maybe only just 6 or something like that. A faint line is exciting - that's how they started for me - fingers crossed lovely.

Welcome to the new nutters - this is a great thread for support and venting ttc frustration!!

Hope you all have fab Fridays! Xxx

winterpansy · 17/05/2013 08:28

Thank you mummy. Am in epau waiting room. Shaking! Will let you know how I get on. Thanks for all the good wishes x

babyrose · 17/05/2013 08:49

I'm still getting ov pains which is a great sign!

I'm trying to keep up with everyone's stories!
Abibub it sounds like there could be a line are u testing again soon?

Attilascupcakes I will keep my fx'd for u!

winterpansy · 17/05/2013 09:44

Ohh myy God....

And breathe.

Tiny heartbeat - no sign of any bleeding or anthing sinister.
I am 6+5 which meant I was only 1 day out with my prediction.

Going to tell my mum this morning.

Thanks for the support from your lovely ladies, it's really helped x

PS.Will set up nervous graduates thread later!

PS abi Oh! I have everything crossed for this feint line x

StoneBaby · 17/05/2013 10:10

winter Smile

Mummytothearkbuilder · 17/05/2013 10:29

Yay!!!!!! Fab fab news winter - feeling slightly emotional for you - must be the pregnancy hormones!!

Did you have an internal or abdominal scan? I wounding if they will see a heartbeat next week when we go - I hate internal scans!! Xxxx

BartBaby · 17/05/2013 10:55

Great news winter im so glad tbet you feel so much better now Smile

winterpansy · 17/05/2013 11:10

Thanks everyone! I do feel so much happier now. It's weird - I have a scan pic of DS at exactly the same gestation. I think I might let go slightly and become excited! I am having some problems with my new job and will end up having to look for another bloody new job while on ml (will only get maternity allowance too - booo) but at least this gives me a bit of breathing space as well to focus on the baby and then getting that all sorted out. I don't care about work at all today though!

mummy They tried abdominal scan and only saw sac so made me empty my bladder and then had the internal where they saw much more detail so it was worth it. The nurse was really lovely. Oooh..I'm excited about your scan now next!

If anyone wants to join, I've started a little thread for the grads on here so we don't bore the ttc-ers for the next 6 months! I am hoping we'll all be moving to that thread very soon.

BartBaby · 17/05/2013 11:15

Sorry about the last message i pressed the post button by accident!! Blush

Great news winter im so glad you got to hear the heartbeat. I bet you feel so much better now Smile

mummy how far along do you think you are now? Hopefully you will get a little heartbeat aswell.

babyrose im on cd11 now so just behind you waiting for ov. Im not having any pains or anything yet, although i cant really remember any either last month so ive got my opk's at the ready! I did have really sore boobs though so keeping an eye on that to see if thats around the same time. Theres so many different 'signs' its hard to know whats right and whats in my head! Lol.

attila i hope your 2ww is going ok. I found that the worst part. All the wondering and not knowing! I think it will help being on here this month though as everyone is really supportive and helpful Smile

abi fingers crossed for you that there is a line there. I definately wouldnt be able to wait to poas again! Lets hoping it carries on getting darker for you Smile

Everyone else i hope you are all good and looking forward to the weekend. Im hoping to get cracking with dtd. Well ive told DH anyway so hoping he can keep up Wink xx

attilascupcakes · 17/05/2013 11:46

Fab news Winter! Smile Smile

attilascupcakes · 17/05/2013 11:50

Thanks Bart. I am trying not to be too hopeful as we only dtd once during ovulation, but then on the other hand I use the CBFM so I know for sure that I was ovulating. Which makes me all hopeful and jittery!

Abi you are so restrained not to POAS every morning until you get a conclusion one way or the other! Its sounds promising though. I will cross my fingers for you.

AbiBub · 17/05/2013 14:08

Aww stone perhaps just dtd for fun this month, but don't give up hope, it happens at the most unlikeliest of times, so still keeping pinkies crossed for you!

ahhh mummy I see, that makes sense why you are not sure on dates, but hopefully all will be confirmed next Friday, getting excited for you now Smile. Thanks lovely, I am hoping its mine and my OH's month this month but shall wait and see, shouldn't have tested so early really as now I have my hopes up slightly Confused

babyrose ov pains still, that's fabby, keep dtd and will keep pinkies crossed for you! Erm I will probably test again on sunday if AF doesn't decide to make an appearance, wish me luck for holding out till then! abi needs to make herself uber busy till then, perhaps some artwork or sewing

winter thank you lovely! awwwwwww I am so happy that everything went ok for you. Let us know how it goes with your mum Smile I bet she will be chuffed to bits as are we Grin eeee so excited for you. I wouldn't be worried about the job thing too much either, you concentrate on having a wonderful pregnancy, as that is all that matters :0) MA isn't all that bad 4 years ago it was over £100 a week so not all is lost (depending on what wage and hours you do obv!) I have saved that link on the new thread in the vain hope I can move over to that soon too (although don't want to temp fate :0/ ) hugz.

bartbaby Thank you, I am trying my hardest to not POAS yet or at least resist the temptation hopefully keep myself busy till sunday !! (AF will probably turn up now knowing my luck!) Hope all goes to plan with the dtd this weekend Wink

Attila It's touch and go for POAS but I need to have will power not to! Try and keep myself busy we live in hope and then hopefully AF wont turn up (although I'm convinced that it probably will). psssst abi says in a whisper sometimes it only takes the one dtd to create a sticky bean, so keeping all pinkies crossed here for you!

Hope you all have a fabby weekend, what we all up to? Smile

2beornot · 17/05/2013 14:23

Hi ladies (and new ladies!)

Delurking to offer some moral support. I've been where you are. I've become obsessed with dates (ovulation, AF due dates, EDD If it works this cycle etc.) and dtd. The POAS galore that happens before AF arrives and it all starts again. It's shit.

The 'stop stressing and relax' bollocks that people spout (as if!). Trying not to show your OH that you have truly lost the plot!!

But we've all done it before. And it will happen again.

I've got fingers and toes crossed for all of you. Can't wait to see you on the antenatal club thread moaning about sickness Grin

MrsHuxtable · 17/05/2013 14:38

Hello everyone,
I posted a couple of times a little while ago to tell you all of my advanced nuttiness about ttc DC2. At the time, we weren't even ttc yet but I as already panicking because due to still breastfeeding DD1, I had a short luteal phase.

Anyway, ttc month came (April) and I was lucky enough to conceive in the first cycle. Got my BFP at the start of the week. Because of the breastfeeding, I have irregular cycles so am not exactly sure how far along I am. It's very early anyway, somewhere in the 5th week.

I am now driving myself mad about my chances of a very early miscarriage etc, it's crazy.

So I was wondering if there are any other newly pregnant ladies on here. I posted once on the January bus in the ante-natal section but the thread is too far moving for me.

AbiBub · 17/05/2013 15:47

Mrshux there is a nut jobs smaller thread that winter has started ( link is in her post a few posts up from here!) Its a smaller thread as they have also said the january bus is too fast moving to!! Hoping I can join that thread soon too! :0)

AbiBub · 17/05/2013 15:50

Hello 2be !! How are you? Good to hear from you! [Smile]

gemmeg · 17/05/2013 18:44

Wow, there's been a lot going on on this thread today!

Welcome to the nut house attila and thanks for the sympathy! It's only my gynaecologist who has trouble getting blood but then I suppose that's not his specialist subject! Good luck for your 2ww Smile

Hi mummy and thanks! In answer to your question I'm a bit up and down on that front but then I think it's something to do with the hormones and I'm not helping myself either. One minute I'm getting excited looking at maternity clothes and the next I'm researching miscarriage! I mentioned before that the dr said there was a little bit of blood in my uterus (he also said this was common and didn't make anything of it) but of course I googled it and came up with all sorts! I know, I know, completely nuts! When is your scan again?

winter great news about your first scan!! I shall come and join you on your thread and give the ttc ladies a bit of space.

stone I think we've all been in that situation! We bang on and on about when to dtd then end up too tired. Good luck for tonight Grin

ooh abi I hope that was a faint line you saw! Keep yourself busy until Sunday. Fingers crossed for you!

Hi there 2be! How are you?

mrshuxtable we are one and the same!! I'm 6+1 wks pg and have now transferred my neuroticism to the fear of miscarriage. Why don't you join winters new thread aimed at nut-job graduates?

I shall join the new thread but will, of course, keep up-to-date with you ladies too!!! Smile

OP posts:
StoneBaby · 17/05/2013 20:40

Not many chances for tonight as DH is snoring asleep on the sofa next to me

AbiBub · 18/05/2013 02:04

Thank you gemmeg will try to keep myself occupied for sure! Sewing, baking and creative stuffs I think! I hope you're doing well?! :0)

stone oooh nooo! Trouble is it can't be helped when that happens. Maybe tomorrow? ! Hope you get some when you both feel less tired! ! ; 0)

Mummytothearkbuilder · 18/05/2013 19:12

Hi ladies

How are you all?

stone maybe tonight will be the night!! Does yours DH know when your fertile time is - I never used to tell DH at his request - he said it added pressure!! Fingers crossed you can both stay awake tonight :-)

abi have you POAS anymore - you are so restrained!! I am a nightmare - if there is a stick in the house then I am peeing in it!!

bartbaby and babyrose how is the waiting for ovulation? Any positive opks yet?

attila how is the 2ww going - when is AF due?

Hello to anyone I have missed out - we are quite the group of nutters now!! I have joined the graduates thread too but will keep popping on here to see how you are all going - fingers crossed we see you on the graduate thread soon!! I am still super nervous - entering into the time that I miscarried in the last pregnancy - scan on Friday!!

Xxx

AbiBub · 18/05/2013 20:01

Hey ladies!

How are you all feeling! Hey mummy haven't POAS yet but if AF doesn't arrive by tomorrow then I will do a test with FMU. Shall i let you know either way?

Been feeling tired and weird today but that could be down to anything!!

Best go be busy again! :0)

StoneBaby · 18/05/2013 20:30

mummy we normally organise a 'dinner date' when I'm ov. As my periods were like clock-work it was easy to organise but as ai don't have clue this month, I've kept it quiet. He hasn't asked yet but knowing that most 'dinner-night' he's not 'performing' I don't know what to do anymore... He wants a 2nd child but he's not acting toward it
