The last week I've been frantically working out my AF dates over the last 4 months (only had 4 since dd) and it would appear that I'm 8 days late now...

and we had a little 'accident' at my parents, but only one and I thought it would've been after I ovulated anyway... but here I am sat here like an idiot with my morning pee in the effing fridge..

And this isn't the first time? Where's the wet kipper brigade I need a slapping!

Don't want to be don't want 3 under 3 and a breastpump for two babies pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease...

Sad (going to the shop at about 11, have to feed big one and express for small one)

Couple of bricks should just about sort it, if you can get dh to stand still for long enough ...

NomDePlume · 25/04/2006 12:20

fasta, you should not take any form of hormonal contraception if you suffer migraines or have a strong family history of stroke (like me)

fastasleep · 25/04/2006 12:22

NDP everything gives me a migraine Sad

ah well, it's ok I'm getting sterilised once they deem that I'm old enough...stupid doctors.

NomDePlume · 25/04/2006 12:23

Join the club.... (migraines, not sterilisation).

I thought your DH was getting it done ?

expatinscotland · 25/04/2006 12:24

Your DH would be able to get it on the NHS b/c of his age and having already fathered 2 kids.

DH badly wants the snip, but they won't give it to him b/c he is under 30 and only has two kids.

Much less cheaper??? Bloody hell, not got my brains in.

Much, much cheaper ...

Uwila · 25/04/2006 12:48

Oh good.

You can take hormone based birth control with migraines, just not the combined pill. Depo is okay. I get migraines and had a depo jab. I is now time for jab number 2 but I've decided I don't like it. Lots of acne and irregular small bleeds quite often. Cant be bothered with all this. And if it's making me fat too, well no thanks.

Eill have to sort something else. I ponder the mirena coil now and then. But I've heard bad things about it too, not the least of which is that it is only 85% effective. That's deffo not good enough.

NomDePlume · 25/04/2006 12:50

I was told by my GP (and other locums) that I shouldn't be taking any hormonal contraception. Withdrawal method has been 100% effective for 3.5 years so far !

expatinscotland · 25/04/2006 12:51

Uwila
If you have a bad reaction to the progestin in the Depo I would have serious reservations about the Mirena coil, which they try to hard sell you.

I took a progestin-based mini pill and had LOADS of acne - including horrid, painful cysts on my chest, shoulders and back. In addition, I had periods - 3 of them in one month, in fact.

The copper coil has no hormones. But the Mirena one has.

NomDePlume · 25/04/2006 12:52

I was offered the non-hormone coil by my GP but never got around to researching the up/downsides...

whiffy · 25/04/2006 12:59

Uwila, don't for a minute think about the mirena if the depo is causing problems. Check out the other threads on MN about the mirena. Some people love it but loads have problems and then get it in the neck from their GP's when they want it taken out.

Mind you, be careful of alternatives. I stopped on Mirena because I was getting fat and moody. Am now still fat and moody and pg Grin

There are worse things I suppose than having sex at your parents'.

Them having sex at yours for instance.

Mytwopenceworth · 25/04/2006 13:06

PLEASE NOTE

i did a cheapo test and it came back negative. i was 4 months gone (ds2) by the time i got confirmation! i dont trust the cheap ones to give a good reading, especially early on, you really need those like clear blue etc that can tell from 1st missed period.

  • not wanting to be party pooper, but if i were you, i'd get another test done. just to be 100% sure.
foxinsocks · 25/04/2006 13:10

uwila, I would agree with others and their warnings about mirena. I had similar mild problems with depo that turned out to be major problems with the mirena - in fact, my mild headaches that I had on depo turned into major, frequent migraines on the mirena and even though I've had it taken out the migraines have remained.

moono · 25/04/2006 13:12

I too did cheapy tests and all four of them came back negative. I wasn't convinced and did a Clearblue which went blue immediately the wee touched the stick!

Uwila · 25/04/2006 13:16

uh oh, Fastasleep. Sounds like you might not want to celebrate just yet.

Yeah I've read some mirena threads that have put me off in the past. Thanks all for reminding me. Do need to sort something before I end up with number 3. (and I've just given away all of my baby stuff)
