I'm back!

Forgot to ask - when is everyone else testing?

Report
QueenofClean · 05/02/2013 11:10

Moon I have a big gap between DD1 & 2 & it's working out well.

As for testing AF not due till 15th so I've at least a week to wait. Can I test everyday until then tho? Impatient much...

Depending on what cycle length I'm having and when I think I ovulated I'm going to try and hold off testing till the 14th too (in reality I'll probably pee on any old thing from mon onwards!) having weird crampy feelings today, but had loads of symptoms last month which came to nothing!

Oh and moon my DD's will be 8 and 4 next month, lovely age gap and both keep asking for me to have a baby, they keep changing mind over which sort though! (will need to break it to them that they can't choose!)

Hi all

Haven't been on much, was swotting for an interview this morning, recently squeezed out of work after 14 years.

So being disracted means I haven't started obsessing over symptoms yet, plus it's Dd1's 20th birthday this week, so I can no longer claim to be 32 Blush.

Anyhooo how's everyone else holding up?

PopsyWind · 05/02/2013 18:36

Hi all,

Good luck with interview Darkside

Thanks for advice re coils - I'm now thinking I haven't had a proper period yet so have no idea where I'm up to/when to test...

Will try and hold out til Monday... (yeah right!)

hi all, may i come and join you all please??

I had "the chat" with DP last night and we have decided that it is time for us to ttc. dp is 42 this year and i will be 38 in 12 days. It will be DC3 for me, (ds1 16, dd2 3.4) but this will be our first dc as a couple Smile
im a very very little bit obsessive when it comes to things, "want it, want it Now" type, so all this waiting around will be tricky to say the least Grin
Hmm, why am i now feeling scared? not in a worried way, just in like a 1st date type way?
we will need a people carrier, we have a fairly big house, so space wont be an issue, nor will finance luckily.
As for preference ?? due to our age, i think healthy would be preferable.
I come from a family of 2dc, dp is from a family of 5dc, so for me... id like around 3 or 4 dc.
fingers crossed for bfps for us all Smile

metime good luck to you! I'm the same with preference, having a girl and a boy, I would really be over the moon with any sex.

I am definately NOT pregnant as AF turned up today Sad (not impressed, but haven't been trying at all so what do I expect? I'm not the Virgin Mary. We only had unprotected sex on the days which were way out for my ovulation.).
I had a bit of hope because I had a tiny bit of blood after a wee, and then nothing.
So I thought "Ooooh, what if?" and I got really excited. Now I'm disappointed that it's my period, so I've got my answer: I do want a baby for sure.

At least I can have a glass of wine now so: Cheers girls Wine

I has nausea and everything, sore boobs etc... Phantom pregnancy I tell you!

thanks toffee & queen
Tmi but, me and DP used the quick pull out method 3x around my ovulation last month, so im hoping against hopes that something May have happened, although i doubt it very much Hmm but im coming to the end of my 2ww any day now as AF is due anytime in next 3? days, and starting to feel those bleur stomachy yuckiness. have got 2 bfn today, although its only 11 days since DTD(s) with DD2 i never got a BFP until after AF had been missed, so im still trying to kid myself lol
However.... i did read on another link somewhere that a bfp is quite unlikley prior to at least 14 days after, as the hormone thingy is still very low due to how many days it takes to ? multiply ? kidding myself again stomach is telling me otherwise. anyways, now that i have done my waffling, may the force be with us all and bring some BFPs

Need sleep. My girls were tag teaming me last night :( and got a long day at work today.

Symptoms are nausea but think its purely because I'm tired and over thinking

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

Hi metime, I glad you are taking the plunge. I guess if this isn't the month then at least you will be ready to ttc properly next month.
Toffee- sorry you got af but it does sound like it has really clarified things for you which can only be good.
I hope the interview went well darkside.

Sorry about AF Toffee, and lack of sleep Queen,

I got BFN this morning (on out of date test so naturally I don't believe it!)

Am pretty sure AF is on its way though as I've been ratty with kids this am.

Re symptoms, PMT or lack of is the only thing I think I trust. I seem to remember that boob tenderness and nausea were always worse the mnths I got my period than the mnth I was pg. How our bodies like to confuse us...

Report
toffee01 · 07/02/2013 11:30

Really popsy? For me irritability or PMT type symptoms were still there when I fell pregnant with DS. In fact they never stopped until the end of the 3rd month.
Also I remember having everything else like I get the odd spot on my back 2 weeks before AF and I still had that at the very beginning of my second pregnancy (can't remember about the first one as I only found out I was pg at 18 weeks Shock, so no symptoms there at all other than over emotional and irritable. Or at least I didn't pay attention to them).
Anyway sorry about your BFN Popsy, maybe too early to get a BFP?

PopsyWind · 07/02/2013 12:41

Aaargh now I've got my hopes up again toffee!

Hmmm... breast tenderness definitely worse with period for me.

Wow what was it like finding out at 18w? - nice not to have all the 1st trimester stressing and knicker checking I spose!

I had coil out 4w ago but then had weird bleeding/spotting on and off for about 10d

well ladies, AF did visit me today, just as i suspected she would, am not disappointed on this occasion, as she has told me that my cycle was bang on 28 days (as i thought) targets for the coming month will be to try and see if i can notice the signs for ovulation, note the dates when i think ive got it right, stop drooling over baby things and find myself a new topic to take my mind of the future...
good luck anybody testing tomorrow, fx for you

Hi ladies,

Sorry to hear that AF got you toffee and metime and about your BFN popsy. I'm still feeling achy, but more emotional, so I'm not sure if that's a sign that AF is on it's way or that I'm pregnant. I'm too scared to test at the moment as I'm not sure what my reaction would be either way, which is bizarre as I really want another DC Confused I think I'm losing it... and I'm definitely eating too much chocolate = PMT I think. Grin

Hope the interview went well darkside

Glad to hear bigger gaps are good too Queen and blondies At least with choosing sex they have a 50% chance, my DS asked me once if he could have a big sister - which is pretty tricky to arrange!

Hi all, I'm a little late in joining, hope that's ok? Would've been TTC yesterday but just got a faint bfp this morning... fingers crossed it will stick. Just read through all the posts here and this looks like a lovely thread- we had so many doubts about going for no. 3 but then someone said these sage words of wisdom: "just don't think about it too much." So we went for it. Have a 5yo DD and a 3 yo DD so the gap is ok but the 3 yo is such a terrible sleeper that I am praying she improves in 9 mos time! Otherwise it's going to be hell round here! Confused

Thanks- today I'm just sitting here analysing the tests because they are so faint (today is 13dpo and there hadn't been much change since 8dpo- faint line) and starting to think it could be a chemical pregnancy. They should be getting darker, shouldn't they? I'm so scared.

hi twogirls, congrats on your bfp. nope a line is a line, i remember that when i was pg with dd 3.4yo i did 2 tests, and sat there at my friends house later and we were saying "yeah its faint, but they defo have lines" and routing through an old handbag the other day i found both tests which still had the same faint lines on lol.
fx for you

Hey everyone! How are you all?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEEN!!! What did you dh have planned for you? I hope you're having a fantastic day.

moon I also worry about the third feeling left out as my two are so close and play so well. I really do think they will dote on a baby and will (try to) be very helpful. Not sure how it will work as they get older though but only time will tell I guess! Nice to hear that three and queen have the same sort of age gap and that it works well.

Darkside how was your interview?

Welcome metime and twogirls congratulations on your BFP!

Quite a few of us due to test next week... I know I'm out as I've had af pains for days but not too worried as we hadn't planned to try 'properly' until next month anyway. Always that hope though isn't there!

Do you know what, I'm so glad I was brave enough to post on here. It has been so good to read that we all have the same sort of worries. I don't tend to discuss baby plans with anyone in RL (apart from OH) so this has been great. I wish I had known about this place when I had DD1!

Enjoy the weekend you lot Smile

Hi everyone, welcome Twogirls and CONGRATS!! Don't worry, I agree with metime 100%. A line is a line.
I tested early for my second and it was so faint I had to post on here to ask for advice.
I did 4 different tests to be sure (excessive old me!) and they had the same faintness.
I had a thick, deep, obvious line with my first but like I said, I was probably about 17/18 weeks by then so that's understandable.

Sorry Popsy to have raised your hopes up but it's true, every pregancy is different and you can have so many different symptoms.

Finding out at 18 weeks was, to say the least, a shock.
My period was always so erratic after stopping the pill 9 months before, and I was forever doing pregnancy tests that were coming up negative so I stopped testing, assuming I was never pregnant but always had irregular periods.

I had absolutely no conscious idea that I was pregnant, in fact I was booked in for a fertility clinic appointment (I hadn't even asked for one but my GP suggested it. I guess because I was 27, he just assumed that I wanted children but actually, I wasn't that bothered if it never happened [that was then]).

I think my GP was more excited than I was when I told him I was pregnant, but he certainly didn't suspect that I was that far gone.

The first concern that came to my mind was "I've been drinking alcohol!!!".

But luckily for me and my baby I don't drink much at all and I had gone off drink (probably due to the pregnancy but I didn't know it at the time).

GP said not to worry about that (what's done is done kind of thing).

So there. It's weird that I didn't put on weight and that my boobs didn't change.
