Thanks queen things make a bit more sense now!

I thought you were meant to bleed straight away popsy so hope am pregnant, although I think maybe part of me is imagining sore boobs and needing to go to the loo every 5 minutes. Have been in the loos at work more in the past 2 weeks than the last year!

PopsyWind · 13/02/2013 09:05

Ooo sounds promising, are you testing soon?

I'm not planning on testing again for another wk, Tbh i can't see much chance of BFP as with all the bleeding there's not been much SWIing...

(probably tmi sorry!!)

Hi, can I join in please?Smile

I have DS1 who is 9, and DS2 who will be 1 in 2 days time! I can't understand why I am so broody, but I am. We live in a tiny flat, and it would be a struggle in terms of space and money, but both DP and I really want another one. It took us almost 3 yrs to conceive DS2 (DS1 was with my
knobend ex-H) so hopefully it won't take so long this time, as I am already 35.

This seems like a lucky thread! Congrats to all those with BFPs already.Smile

toffee01 · 13/02/2013 21:40

Hi Bambam welcome! 35 already? You're a spring chicken I'm 37 (just mind!).
If I were 35 I would feel soooo much more confident in terms of TTC and the health of the baby. Strange innit? How much of a difference a couple of years can make, psychologically (and physically I would say).
In the last year I have noticed: Boobs facing a bit more southward.
Fat concentrating in belly and bottom area and hard to shift.
More wobbly all over.
All those things seemed to have happened overnight as well!
At one point I thought I was menopausal but my GP assures me I'm not.
Anyway, enough about me, I wish you all the best, I hope it happens quickly for you!

I'm on day 9 of cycle but really not sure when I'm supposed to be ovulating, usually I sense it, pain in ovary (left or right), more abundant CM, higher libido, spots.
DH still very keen. Me too. Kind of. Very broody and craving a big family, but scared... due to age.
But the more I wait, the more I'll be scared.
The ironic thing is, I'm thinking, shall I? Shall I not? But I might not even be successful should I decide to try.
At least I'll know if it doesn't happen, it wasn't meant to be.
Sorry for going on girls Blush

Welcome Bambam

I agree toffee - I'm 37 soon and it feels a lot older than when I was TTC last time age 35...

Makes me a bit sad we didn't start earlier, me and DH were together for 10 years before DC came along.

I suppose I'm looking at a third as a bonus rather than something I'm desperate for, but sometimes the broodiness takes over....

Hi toffee and popsy!Smile I thought I had killed the thread yesterday, but I guess since we are all TTC number 3 we are all a bit busy for MNing all day!Grin It was a lot easier when I was pg with DS2 as DS1 was in school all day so I could nap and MN as much as I fancied!

toffee - I have also wondered if I am pre-menopausal at times, as just before AF I get really hot and find it hard to sleep, but I don't think I am, and periods are still very regular. Everything has been gradually moving south with me ever since DS1 was born!

popsy - I also wish that DP and I had started a family earlier, but DS1 was with my ex, and then when DP and I got together it took us ages to conceive. It's lovely in a way, because DS1 is a real little man now and helps me out no end!

Now here's a daft question, but I guess it's relevant when TTC. When do you count your AF as having actually "started"?? I have quite heavy AF, but for 2-4 days before I get pink/brown spotting that doesn't even need a pad. So, is CD1 the day that the spotting starts, or the day that the actual bleeding starts?Confused I ask because we DTD last night, and I don't know whether I am on CD 11 or CD 14 now.

toffee01 · 14/02/2013 11:26

No I think it's from your first red period if I remember well from TTC last time (6 years ago).
That's a point actually, I think I'm on day 9 but actually I'm on day 8 if I start from the first red day.
I wonder how red it needs to be before being classified as red?

toffee - you sound like me!
DH and I cannot make our minds up. Both 1 of 3 and currently have 2 children, a girl and a boy of 2 and 4 respectively. We both work full time and pretty long hours so life is permanently a bit chaotic trying to juggle everything and frankly, sometimes it feels like we have no time for one another.
My son keeps asking me to go to the dr and get a baby put in my tummy (!) as he'd like a brother..
I'm 36 so feel like we need to make a decision pronto. I'm just worried that i'll find the early weeks post birth and the pregnancy exhausting. It has definitely been tricky to get my body back post DD's birth. Just beginning to feel fit again now, 2 years later. And our 2 kids are at such a brilliant stage..and it is so much easier now the youngest is 2, doesn't always need a nap etc. It feels like we've got our freedom back as a family. And I worry about money - which is very prosaic but there you have it. I don't want to feel constantly stretched and like we both have to work full pelt to make ends meet.

But part of me and DH things we should just go for it.. Not entirely sure what will make us decide one way or the other!

Firstgold yes, very difficult. At the moment I feel nearly 99%.
And I know that DH is keen which I guess makes it easier.
If he was unsure, and I was unsure, then I would not do it. In fact, we talked about it about a year ago and we were both hesitant so we decided no.

But now things have changed and I feel like I "need" another one, my maternal instincts are definitely very present at the moment.
Plus I seem to see babies everywhere

Welcome new ladies!

Sorry to hear of the BFNs. Lots of luck for your next cycle.

Congrats on any BFPs I've missed, I haven't been on for a few days as I'm suffering dying from the flu. Actually bed bound right now which I just don't do!

How's everyone doing?

Report
twogirlsandamessyhouse · 14/02/2013 20:36

Firstgold- I could have written that myself, it sounded so familiar. I'm also 36 (37 in a few weeks) The indecision, the feeling that I've finally gotten fit (well... Relatively), the fear of exhaustion. My youngest is now 3 1/2 and bedtime is absolute hell, why oh why would I want this again, I asked myself...

What did it for me was a trip to the GP and the whispering of the words 'hmm- perimenopause'... That and a few family health shake-ups that made me start re-evaluating what's important in life.

Anyway good luck everyone for more BFP's! Smile

Thank you Queen. Sorry to hear that af is on the way. Lots of luck for next month.

I got my BFP last night. Very happy but I'm feeling so ill, will it be ok in there? I haven't eaten a meal in 2 days, can't stop coughing which is making me sick but there's nothing to bring up. I ache from head to toe. My back is really sore from coughing and I haven't slept for more than 2 hours each night. Common sense is telling me that the little bean will be fine, it's only me that will suffer isn't it?

Sorry for the needy post.

thethreeblondies · 15/02/2013 07:40

Congrats choc I've had a stinking cold all week (thanks DD's!) said to my DH theres no way a little bean could be hanging on through all this coughing and sneezing, I've had some sharp twinges. I am expecting hoping sickness to probably kick in as soon as this cold clears! Smile

Should we start an antenatal club for all of us, this thread is doing well on bfp's (those in the running for next month we will keep spaces warm!)

Ooh congratulations Choc! I knew this would be a lucky thread! The bean will be just fine. When I was first pg with DS1 (before I knew) I came down with a horrible virus and also hand, foot and mouth. I was knocking back nurofen with red wine like there was no tomorrow!BlushGrin

Toffee - thanks for that! Nobody has ever given me a straight answer as to when AF actually officially "starts" before. That means today is CD12 for me.

It's DS2's first birthday today!! I can't believe it has come around so soon, and I actually feel a bit hormonal and weepy about the whole thing. Maybe DTD two nights ago has caught us a bean! It's actually a bit of an anti-climax as DP's evil witch boss wouldn't let him take today off, so he won't be in until nearly 5 tonight, so we will do presents etc then, and DS1 stayed with his gran last night as it's half-term here and he isn't home yet. We are having a wee "do" on Sunday but it would have been nice to celebrate on the actual day.

Bambam happy birthday to your little one! How lovely just one day after Valentine's day.
That's ok regarding AF, this is what I remember from last time, I hope it's correct. Google it just in case.
I'm on CD 9 today. We did it last night (unprotected) but it's not the right time. We'll try and do it every other day or more for the next 10 days or so, to be on the safe side.
I'm sure DH won't complain. Wink
Congratulations Choco, how fantastic. I hope you feel better soon though!
I'm sure baby will be fine even though you have the flu. xx
