I hope nobody else has started a May conception thread; April isn't going to be it for me, so onwards and forwards ladies!

I am still waiting. AF not due til about Thursday but had heavy boobs for a good week. Keep trying to convince myself I feel other symptoms too but I don't!
Don't really expect to be pregnant but I guess while there is small degree of hope I am hanging on to it!
Trying to be patient and not test til Thursday - will keep you posted

wannaBe1974 · 12/05/2006 11:52

hiya all :)

just a quick update, I just spoke to my gp surgery for my blood results, and she said that they've had a note back from the lab saying "sorry we no longer do blood pregnancy tests, please use a dipstick". she said if I go in they'll give me a bottle to take in a urine sample, but said that the hpt's are generally more reliable, well that's why I've already done 4 of them which were all bfn and was, I thought, the reason why gp wanted me to have a blood test? It seems I'm just destined never to find out :(

klou · 12/05/2006 12:54

It's not my month either,,,,,,i was very sure, but no bang on time. i was very upset last night and began thinking of giving up, my son is 3.5, i always wanted a big family - but age is not on my side - i'm 34 in july and my husband is 41. we had a m/c in december and i just cannot believe i am not pregnant again, at what point do you start to think maybe there is something wrong?

soundbites · 12/05/2006 14:21

Sorry you are feeling down, Klou. Since I am so new to all this I don't have any answers for you but can just send lots of good wishes. Same to Wannabe - how frustrating for you not really knowing.

TuttiFrutti, thanks for your post. You are right that 9mths (minimim) + 6mths maternity leave is a long way away with plenty of time to get things sorted and a business going for DH. (The 'hobby', by the way, is not too straightforward: composing music!) It does make sense for us both however. I just want to plan everything perfectly - hopefully having children will teach me that things are not really like that! Having decided to just go for ttc is a bit liberating in itself and I'm now just as keen as anyone on here really to see if it works out for us this month despite the nerves (first time trying so don't really expect so).

lots of luck to you all xxx

wannaBe1974 · 12/05/2006 16:48

Klou am so sorry to hear you’re feeling down. From personal experience I know how disheartening it can be when af arrives month after month. Only you can decide whether you really want to continue going through the ttc process, after all, saying you’re going to stop does effectively mean accepting that you’re not going to have another baby – are you prepared for that?

It can take a perfectly healthy couple at least 12 months to conceive, and that is 12 months with a cycle every month, as you’ve managed to conceive in December, as sad as it is that you did m/c, you have managed to conceive, and I would hold on to that and persiveer – the baby you are meant to have is in there J

wannaBe1974 · 12/05/2006 16:50

well I am going to test tomorrow morning and that is really the last time. If that test is bfn then I'm just going to resign myself to it as the medical profession seems uninterested.

coggy · 12/05/2006 21:32

WannaBe I feel really cross for you. Angry
I am not going to type what I nearly did as it won't be useful and I'm sure that you've felt it already!!!
Do your test tomorrow...be careful in how you look after yourself even if it's another bfn because you never know.
I don't know what else the gp can do. I can't believe that they won't do a blood test or that you had to phone up to find that out - she should have told you surely?!!

Oh dear...I've started!

I have been so mucked around over the past 10 months by various bits of the NHS and calmly waited until, last month I finally had enough and got assertive and they instantly pulled their finger out!!
Don't really know what to suggest for you though - how frustrating.
Do you still have all your symptoms?

trace2 · 12/05/2006 21:44

maazaa · 14/05/2006 16:30

Good luck, trace! Have fun! How is everyone today? We had the most gorgeous little boy to stay (with his parents!) this weekend and it has got me even more broody! Can't wait for Auntie Flo to pack her bags and leave as she is having a particularly dreadful stay at the mo and am feeling a bit rough!

Jenswish · 15/05/2006 08:50

Morning all,

Looks like I'm moving over here, AF arrived on Sunday so CD2 here. Cant wait for her to move on as its a rather painful stay this time.

Am happy to see AF tho as it means my cycles may be getting back to something of normal. So far the 3 cycles I've had in 5months have lasted 34, 43 and now 32 so getting there perhaps.

GOod luck Trace! Grin

Jenswish · 15/05/2006 08:55

Oops, I put this in the wrong place, I'm meant to be moving over to June now.

DUMB BLONDE MOMENT!! lol

peachygirl · 15/05/2006 08:58

HI I'm here today, I was quite ill during the night on Sat(won't go into details but no alcohol was involved think it was somthing I ate) still feeling delicate and we always tell kids have 48 hours off after sickness so I am following protocol.
Also have quite high temp, in fact off my chart at 6:30 this morning, little feeling inside me hope it could be linked to implantation but it's still early days yet due to a strange cycle this month But have been feeling a bit PMTish too have had a headache for about three days. So looking forward to a bit of chatting

Go for it trace thats great news it seems the clomid is kickin in.

trace2 · 15/05/2006 09:15

wannaBe1974 · 16/05/2006 07:18

morning all :)

had a call from surgery yesterday to make an appointment to discuss where to go from here as can't have a blood hcg. I asked the receptionist what it said on the screen and she just said that it said to do a urine test and that if that is negative then "the patient is not gregnant". So I have appointment today and I guess really it's just to discuss what else might be wrong with me. I imagine they'll just do more blood tests for other things - not sure really. Ironically I feel sicker today (and yesterday) even though I know now it can't be a baby. although I guess there are other conditions which could bring about nausia/sore boobs/thrush (yes, I have thrush, tmi sorry) and I had that in my first pg as well and then there's the bump! lol what can I say - im a freak lol.

trace2 · 16/05/2006 09:37

good luck wannbe!

ive not got a temp rise ,so looks like i havent ovulated, the surge must have been somthing elseSad
