MeanMrsMustard 31 - ttc 2 cycles - AF due 18th/19th Dec
Zombies, ttc 3 cycles, PCOS. Next POAS not before 20 December, if I can hold out that long I hope I don't crack before then
Bunny, 32, this is TTC month 7, AF due 31st Dec, it's DTD week!
Captain, 32, TTC 16/17 cycles, on pause until dermoid cyst is removed.
Aquarius, 31, ttc a while (going to ignore how many months) next POAS early jan

Captain, sorry to hear about your cyst and no worries about having a whinge, I had complete meltdown month 5 and these lovely ladies on MN helped loads.

MrsM, it's so difficult to find a happy medium between trying to DTD on the days you need to and trying to make it spur of the moment and pressure free. Men can't perform on cue and last month was a disaster and I got upset when hubby didn't wanna play on the day I got my positive ov result, and it's just horrid coz then he feels bad and you start to stress even more.

I can't help but feel a bit resentful when that happens. We're the ones who take on most of the stress, map dates, scan our bodies like a hawk, drop our pants in consulting rooms and spread eagle for intrusive dildocams and whatnot.
It all feels a bit much when the man acts cranky about DTDing or doesn't want to know about the reason why you're wanting to DTD on x day.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 11/12/2012 22:18

Updated mine, had forgotten age.

Navis - BFP due next weds 19th :D

Sorry she got you Aquarius :(

Bunny - oh was so peed off that at the beginning of my fertile period he didn't want to dtd. He said that he felt like there was no point because we had dtd every other month and it hasn't worked so why would this month he any different. It was really sad. Luckily we went away that weekend to visit his mum and I think the change of scenery did us both some good as we have now dtd CDs 13, 15, 16, 17 and 21 and its been really, really nice :) Other months he's felt the pressure during sex and hasn't been able to finish. I've been really supportive and never shout at him that we've missed our chance or anything like that cause I can really understand how he feels. I just say that if we don't dtd then we're def not going to be Pregnant so we have to!!

Captain - big hugs mate, I know it's rubbish xxxxx

twinklestar2 · 11/12/2012 22:26

Twinklestar2, 33, ttc month 16, BFP due 19th Dec

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 11/12/2012 22:38

captain fingers crossed that the cyst is the culprit and that once removed it will be BFP time for you.
Love the name Engelbert for it :)

Bunnygirlie · 12/12/2012 08:26

Morning all, I have recently sent away for a very interesting book from the Tommys website, Planning a healthy pregnancy. I really wish I'd done some reading up about all this stuff before we started trying rather than a few months in. There are so many things I would do differently, although I'll never know if they would have worked either. The latest thing i've read that I didn't know is don't just wait to your fertile time to DTD, i didn't know that it's bad for OH to store up sperm! We know so little about these things till we try!

Hugs to all those on 2ww and anybody in my gang on DTD week FX

Why does time go slower when you want it to fly??

BraveLilBear · 12/12/2012 10:19

Zombies because time is evil.

I very much want to be 4-5 weeks further hence, the 12ww is nearly as bad as the 2ww. It occurred to me the other day though that scans weren't offered as standard til the 1990s. How on earth did our poor mothers cope with the angst?!?

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 12/12/2012 10:46

^tmi^
I try and get myself to the loo first thing every morning even if I don't feel like it. Once I've gone and had a wee there's no point obsessing about POAS that day at any rate.

Quodlibet · 12/12/2012 11:46

So DP has been called up for a work thing that he just can't refuse on Saturday, so can't come to our booking in appointment. I have rung to see if I could change it but no go. Someone tell me booking in appointment is just boring filling in forms so I can make him feel better?! He feels really guilty because the 'his work coming before us starting a family'' thing has been a recurrent theme for several years. I've told him I'm not upset with him - he can't not do this work thing, it'd be madness to turn down.

janey1234 · 12/12/2012 12:00

My friend went to hers alone and said lots of people do. She said that even if DP comes with me he'll have to leave the room when the midwife asks a out domestic violence - apparently it's very common for it to start during pregnancy Sad

I think the scan is much more exciting. I genuinely wouldn't mind one but if DP missed booking in as long as he was there got the scan....

Am sure you'll be fine quod Smile

When is it again?

janey1234 · 12/12/2012 12:01

Duh did you say Saturday? Think I was do shocked by the whole weekend appt it didn't calculate!Blush

HazleNutt · 12/12/2012 12:07

If booking appointments are anything like here in France then yes, forms and got a bunch of leaflets about what I'm not supposed to do.

Purplemonster · 12/12/2012 12:10

Don't worry Quod, you don't really need your OH there, I went on my own and all they did was my height and weight and lots of questions about my medical history so you should be fine.

BraveLilBear · 12/12/2012 12:29

Am considering taking my DP to mine - it's on Xmas Eve and both of us are off work - shock!

I think it'd be nice for him to feel involved, but would be relieved if he changed his mind as it looks like a lot of personal questions get asked and I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be discussing frequency of thrush/constipation etc with him in the room.

It's not that I don't want to share with him, just that, you know, a bit of 'mystery' never hurts anyone. We have an agreement that I don't do number twos or fart. He knows the reality, but he chooses to ignore this cos he's sensitive to these ideas... for this reason, I'd suggest that DP's not being at booking in appts is no biggie.

You'll be fine Quod and may even find it easier to talk.

Scan, yes - it pains me that he'll have to take a day of leave to come with me (he only gets 4 weeks a year) - but he knows it's compulsory and also, wouldn't want to miss it anyway.

Quodlibet · 12/12/2012 12:40

Thanks people. He wouldn't miss the scan for anything, good to know this appt isn't a biggy.

Janey yep Saturday appointments! I was surprised too.

Rache1S · 12/12/2012 16:09

Quod if your Booking appointment is anything like mine it will be so painfully boring that you'll struggle to stay awake! Your DP won't miss a thing. My DH didn't come to mine.

captainmoll · 12/12/2012 18:29

Quick Humperdinck update - my amazing gp just called me to say she's just looked at my test results and is sending me straight to a gynaecologist, so no waiting around for appointments at the medical centre. She even told me who to call and chase if I don't hear anything in two weeks. She said I can talk to the gyno about my fertility issues as well as the cyst.

Fx for everyone waiting for bfps scans and ovs! (So, all of you, basically Grin)

Rache1S · 12/12/2012 20:54

I think the hormones have finally taken me hostage! I went to DSD's quite loosely themed multi cultural multi faith and quite frankly a bit bizarre but very sweet Nativity tonight and was on the verge of tears all the way through it for no reason whatsoever! What's that all about then???

Rache1S · 12/12/2012 20:55

P.S. Good news about your Doc Captain. She sounds like a good one Xmas Smile

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 12/12/2012 21:27

captain she sounds like a gem!
FWIW, feeling sort of AFy already and it's seven days away. Ho hum.

Bunnygirlie · 12/12/2012 22:50
