I can see my DH calling me fat anytime now!!!!
I'm only 5 weeks but I generally have a really flat stomach and big ass but my belly feels podgy. And I feel hungry all the time.

HazleNutt · 29/11/2012 10:58

Yes I'm strugging with that too, looking just fat and not obviously pregnant. Maybe we should try to stick the stomachs out more and walk around sighing and rubbing our backs? (well, I'll have to wait after I have told my colleagues though)

Purplemonster · 29/11/2012 11:59

Thanks for the sympathy, I'm feeling a bit more rational about it all now and thinking at least I wont have to see her again and may end up with someone much nicer next time. I was on my own as it's hard for OH to get away from work so that probably didn't help. I still don't know how many weeks I am and I still don't have a due date. She asked when my last period was, I explained I hadn't had one but that I'd done a digital test if that helped. She said they don't take those into consideration and pretty much guessed - "Looking at when your positive test was, lets saaaaaay...8 weeks?"
Suppose I'll just have to wait for the scan!

Purplemonster · 29/11/2012 12:02

p.s I look fat too. Oddly, as well as having a big pot belly, my knickers seem to be digging in more than normal, they sit just above my natural ahem, hair line so I think that must mean I'm getting bigger around the hips. Either that or I've got a fat fanny Grin

BraveLilBear · 29/11/2012 12:41

at the idea of a fat fanny Shock! Sorry she was mean to you purple there's simply no need for that. Bet your next one is a million times nicer.

I'm in the usually flat tummy but now bloated look. I'm ok with it so far... I'm feeling sick a lot so not eating loads, and trying to ignore the fact that eating makes me feel better (cos otherwise I'll never stop). Have also realised that slowing down makes me feel slightly less vomity - my usual 30 minute walk to work was more like 40 this morning simply to ease off the nausea.

I'm determined not to pack on too much excess, so currently literally only eating the same as I normally would, although if you put sweets anywhere near me they ain't gonna last long.

Still waiting to hear back from mw, I texted yesterday. Will phone up this afternoon if still nowt by then.

Like the symptom spotting moll! Although, yup, every single pg symptom is the same as PMS. Tis one of mothr nature's very special little jokes Fx it's the former though!

BelissimaLol · 29/11/2012 15:25

Oh god I can see the fat fanny coming my way too!!!! Good job I'm pg. don't think DH will be too tempted Grin

Bunnygirlie · 29/11/2012 17:36

Two words - evil bitch Sad

captainmoll · 29/11/2012 18:10

Oh no bunny! I'm sorry to hear that. Not a good month for us TTC-ers.. FX for a better December..

Feeling oddly smug for the first time ever that since I am already fat, the awkward in-between bit all you Pg ladies are getting to grips with won't make any difference to me (if I ever get my BFP). One less trauma. Grin

Rache1S · 29/11/2012 19:25

I have the first sober Christmas party of the season tomorrow night and I am feeling fat fat fat!!! So much so that I haven't even bought a new dress and will instead be wearing an old and not-so-clingy little black number from the Narnia at the back of my wardrobe, along with some M&S thighs, tum and bum extra control tights. I will not go down without a fight! DH says he can't tell but I can see in his eyes that he's bullshitting, bless him.

You all saying that you are feeling like fat bloaters as well is making me feel much better Grin

captainmoll · 29/11/2012 19:48

A very tedious train journey has resulted in the following literary travesty. You are the only people I can possibly share this with:

Listen, little blastocyst
(I'll assume for now you do exist)
I promise to look after you
So say you'll stay and see it through
I won't eat Stilton or get boozy
Or smoke fags (they make me woozy)
I'll take expensive supplements
Begin yogic experiments
Whatever you need to stick with me
I'll give you if you just agree
To concentrate on getting bigger
Grow a heart, a brain, a liver
And don't forget to make some hands
To wave with at the 12 week scan.

Rache1S · 29/11/2012 20:39

Captain that's really good! Whatever it is you do as a day job you should immediately give up for a literary career Grin

Purplemonster · 29/11/2012 20:48

Love your little ode Captain, it made me smile and feel sad at the same time. Damn hormones.
Sorry she got you Bunnie Sad
And apologies to all the other up duffed berries, who I now realise, I have given yet another thing to worry about, as if wobbly bloated tummies weren't enough to be fussing over, you're all now going to be assessing your nether regions and wondering if they look fat Grin
I'm seriously struggling for clothes already, I'm down to one pair of work trousers I can fit in and a couple of stretchy tops and I still look like I've eaten all the pies (actually, it was all of the hob nobs).

Pipbin · 29/11/2012 21:17

Sorry to hear she got you Bunny You can be my cycle twin this time. We can both get our BFPs this cycle and be pg twins too.

I've worked out that if my cycle stays the same as the last few months then my fertile week will be when we are staying in a posh hotel (with my parents though!) and AF / BFP will be due on Christmas Eve. Wouldn't that be the best present.
The other day we were watching a drama where a woman POAS and got two lines. DH said 'what does that mean? Why do they always assume you know what that means?' Must remember to actually tell him if I get a BFP, not show him.

winkle2 · 29/11/2012 21:45

Pip my BFP is due 19th, what an amazing Xmas present that would be for both of us! I thought I'd be pregnant last year and had planned to send auntie/grandma/uncle cards to announce it...

Pipbin · 29/11/2012 22:52

Oh Winkle we both deserve brilliant Christmas BFPs.

I had visions of having a baby by this Christmas. We had already been trying for 6 months by last Christmas, I had every reason to think we would be three by this time.

Pipbin · 29/11/2012 22:55

Oh, and this is my local maternity ward. There is clearly something in the water here, there are three women pregnant at my work too. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-20543580

Bunnygirlie · 29/11/2012 23:50

Thanks ladies, I'm not that upset this month because I knew it hadn't worked for us, we didn't DTD day before or day of positive ov test due to hubby being soooooooo stressed that week. Fingers crossed house will be nearly finished and work less hideous in a few weeks time so we can DTD when we need to!

Well if we make it work next month we won't know till after Christmas, would be nice new year prezzie I guess :-s

Fuck.
Just got back from a really lovely evening to find the sodding cow waiting for me when I got home.
Conceive plus, charts, opks and bad poetry were clearly not enough. I hate this so much.
Sad

happylass · 30/11/2012 06:58

So sorry to hear that captain Sad. Here's to a more productive December for us all in camp TTC.

Bunnygirlie · 30/11/2012 08:16

Oh Captain that's crap! Sorry to have to welcome you to our December gang Sad

winkle2 · 30/11/2012 09:25

Sorry she got you captain and bunny. :(

BelissimaLol · 30/11/2012 09:46

Oh that's rubbish captain. And your poem was lovely too!!!
Xmas bfp would me an amazing present. Fingers crossed the elderberries continue to have luck!
I've already been to the toilet 4 times today. I do want to pee all the time but seem to have a lot of cm (tmi) and keep worrying its blood.
I sometimes wish someone could give me a ready made baby. Of my own of course!!

captainmoll · 30/11/2012 09:59

Yes Bel, that old myth about the stork gets more and more appealing..
The hag is just toying with me now. Light spotting yesterday, but as I am simultaneously on cd30 and 10dpo it could be start of AF (most likely) or implantation bleeding! Sometimes hope is more painful than disappointment..
I've also just work out that I am now embarking on cycle 17. Sad (but that includes a handful of months where we were in separate countries/too stressed. I think in real terms its about cycle 13 or 14).

The next week brings docs appt for dh and an ultrasound for me though, so hopefully by next OV we'll at least know what the problem is.. Onwards!

BraveLilBear · 30/11/2012 10:20

Oh so sorry to hear that Captain and Bunny Sad

And I, too, very much enjoyed your poem. But what's this, you might not be out-out yet? You're right, someone said 'it's the hope that kills em' - but if hope turns into a BFP then surely all will be forgiven.

Fx for happy news, and, at the very least, some festive BFPs. Enjoy a glass or three of Wine for now.

Quodlibet · 30/11/2012 10:23

Sorry to hear that Captain and Bunny Sad. It's not fair is it?

BLol, I got that cm panic thing really badly at the beginning too, it's horrid isn't it? The bad news is the cm doesn't decrease, the good news is the worry does.

I spent the evening with a friend of mine with 2 kids last night and she made me feel much better about not having much sickness - she didn't have any at all with either of hers. And it made me think, has anyone on this thread got 'proper' MS or are we all just worrying about not having it?! Maybe we all just think we should have it but actually it's less of a given than we think it is?
