Just Shagging - JSers roll up for fred 12

Kittenkatzen · 01/11/2012 14:03

Oh, the other fred filled up all of a sudden! Oh well here's a new one....(horse feel free to replace if you want to be fred starter, just didn't want everyone in limbo!)

Fred rules;

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share Wine and Brew with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.
Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.
Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).
Viroid = This is you, dear poster. The reason for this is a closely guarded secret, known only to....er....well, nobody as far as we can tell!
POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit).
Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.
Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

I haven't been using the sticks, we've just been JSing every day that we can.

If it doesn't happen in the next couple of months I'll probably get some though Xmas Blush

SantaBearface · 17/12/2012 17:46

Hello All

Well, ERTD was 'due' two days ago or not considering she turns up whenever the hell she feels like it and stays for as long as she darn well pleases and still nothing. I did another test (I've done 3 now) and still a BFN. So, now I can't have my blood test tonight thanks a lot AF and have just realised I've double booked myself on Thursday with the doctor's appointment to get first lot of results back. Bloody AF, bloody body not doing what I want it to, bloody 'ell! So, not sure what's going on with me.

I've got some sticks but I forget to use them!

SantaBearface · 17/12/2012 18:58

Hello again,

I found this article on The Guardian website which I personally found useful just because it vocalised a lot of the feelings I have and have seen others having on this site. Maybe don't read it if you are feeling sensitive at all. It's not bad or anything, but not all of the stories have a happy ending. If you only want to read the 'happy' ones then read Helene and Brian, and Alex and Will and don't read on after that. Hope it helps someone. x

Rockchick1984 · 18/12/2012 00:16

Does anyone else test using Internet cheapies? ERTD was due over the weekend but no sign yet although I'm not fantastically regular so still not sure if I'm really late or not! Anyway, bought IC's from amazon and they don't have instructions other than to PIAR rather than straight on the stick - how long should I dip it for, and how long should I leave it before checking to see if it's a BFP? Did one tonight but BFN Xmas Sad

AndieClaus · 18/12/2012 08:59

Rock Going by instructions on tests which you can both POAS or PIAR you dip for 20-30 seconds then wait about 3 minutes but no longer than 10.

Rockchick1984 · 18/12/2012 09:07

In fact, ignore my post from last night - ERTD turned up this morning Sad Sad Sad

I really thought it was our month this time, got quite upset about it all (first month that it's really upset me) so DH has agreed we can start using contraband ov sticks, he's going to start on men's vitamins and we are both going to cut down dramatically on the caffeine! It's 4 months since we started trying but had a month off while I was unwell so 3 of actively trying - as 3 months is meant to be average to conceive, I presumed it wouldn't take any longer than that - DS was the result of one drunk night where we both forgot contraception so I really never thought we would have problems Sad

Sorry for being so self-indulgent.

Rockchick1984 · 18/12/2012 09:07

Thanks andie

ChristmasTuddles · 18/12/2012 09:20

We've been actively trying for 4-5 months, but haven't been living together the whole time. So been properly trying since November.

Also thought it would have happened by now

jemimahpuddleduck · 18/12/2012 11:11

Hi Ladies

Had some fox's Xmas biscuits delivered to work so thought I'd pop on and share them Biscuit Brew.

Been jsing eod seeing as it's first cycle and Xmas may ramp that up to every day pretty sure that won't last long!

Not sure if this is against the rules and I'm sorry if it is but wondered do you get CM before ov, during or after??

Xmas Confused
AndieClaus · 18/12/2012 12:02

Jemimah We love a good pant snot convo here.lol. My Internet research tells me post ov is normally dry, then creamy after ERTD, then watery then egg white just before/at time of ov.

TMI alert, sorry.... Im having a weird ERTD. I normally have 6/7 days if heavy flow (ick) but I've had 3 days of light/medium and now SBG. I wish I understood my body. Trying not to convince myself that it's been a break through bleed, that way madness lies.

MrsBri · 18/12/2012 12:08

Sorry...back from lurking!

Rockchick, it isn't an average of 3 months to conceive, it can take a couple with no issues up to a year to conceive. The average may be 6, but it isn't as low as 3!

Don't get despondent on false figures! xx

jemimahpuddleduck · 18/12/2012 13:16

Thanks Andie

Glad we are aloud to talk about pant snot checked in the loo and mine was none of the above just moist Blush tmi.

My cycle was strange too only lasted 5 days then came back after 1st shag for a day. Gone again now though. Sorry I'm new to all this so not even sure what a break through bleed is? Confused

AndieClaus · 18/12/2012 14:05

Rock what MrsBri is correct, I read that the average is around 7 months. Anywhere up to 2 years is "normal". If there are other issues too: irregular cycles, overly painful periods etc and you are around 30 then 6months is a good time to have a chat with your Dr. But trying to make a time scale for it is only going to stress you out and make it more difficult.

Jemimah A breakthrough bleed is where your usual menstrual hormones break through the preggo ones for a couple if days and you get a light/short period. It's how a lot of women can be quite far on before they discover they're pregnant at all.

ChristmasTuddles · 18/12/2012 14:54

Slightly less worried now that I know average isn't 3 months.

SBG made me smile. I remember worrying about it along with hooya and couple of months ago

jemimahpuddleduck · 18/12/2012 15:08

Thanks Andie realise what you mean now just didn't know the name of it.

SantaBearface · 18/12/2012 16:11

Rock - I agree with MrsBri and Andie - it can take up to 2 years and that time frame is considered normal for most people. I went to the doctors and she's whipped us in for tests which I now can't get the results of but that's because I'm 33 and told her that I came off the pill over a year ago, which is true. I did also try to tell her that we have only been actively trying for 3 cycles, but she wasn't interested in that and said that we should check it out now if we had any problems, so we went along with it. Also, don't think you're being self-indulgent - everyone is here to discuss things about their efforts at TTC and it wouldn't work unless we all did that, so it's fine.

Still no ERTD or BFP for me. Xmas Confused I'm on CD31. I have been known to have ERTD at CD35 before, but even so, there's no sign of anything. Hopefully I'm not broken and my lady bits are just having a rest from all the rushing around.

Does anyone know how late you can get a BFP after your period is due, if that makes sense?

SantaBearface · 18/12/2012 16:24

Okay, just been using Dr Google and lots of people seem to besaying that their BFP didn't come up for a while and it can take a lot longer for some women's HCG to show up on a test. Some women seem to be saying it took about 4 weeks! One woman said 10 weeks! I'd still be interested to hear what other people's thoughts on this are though.

ChristmasTuddles · 18/12/2012 16:33

Not sure but my DPs sister has 2 daughters Xmas Envy and neither of them showed up as a BFP till around 12/13 weeks

SantaBearface · 18/12/2012 16:55

Okay. Thanks Tuddles - I never knew it would take that long. Crazy, huh?

AndieClaus · 18/12/2012 19:23

Just another instance of everybody being different and nothing being "normal" Bear Nature....it makes no sense!lol

SantaBearface · 18/12/2012 19:35

Yes, Andie - I'm a bit slow on the uptake, but now realising that any set of circumstances/variables seems to be possible for any one individual. Good ole' Mother Nature! Xmas Smile

AndieClaus · 18/12/2012 19:45

Believe me, it's only just dawning on me too! I didn't try to conceive my DCs, they just happened (with what turned out to be the wrong person but that's by the by) but now I've actually decided to actively try for a baby I'm realising just what a lucky dip (literally, arf!) it is.
Ah well, here's to Christmas! Xmas Smile Wine

DingDongBelle · 18/12/2012 22:00

Oi oi shaggers Grin

Well. Green week is over. Dh and I have given it our bestest shot (literally in dh's case, arf): every day during green week, bum on pillow etc. Have been a good girl, Santa, bring me my crimble bfp please!

My poor wee pregnant student looked at death's door today. She is literally shovelling in crisps throughout the lesson and told me today how sick she's been. Poor girl Sad I remember the miz of the first few weeks well. I'm not supposed to let them eat in class but I'm leaving her alone.

So I'm on day 2 of the 2ww. And I'm nicely settling into being bonkers again as a good distraction from Christmas Grin My flipping nips are killing me means nothing Ding but enjoy the mentalness

Anyone want to lay a sweepstake on me caving and doing a frer in secret on Christmas morning, just for the drama?Wink

ChristmasTuddles · 19/12/2012 06:58

Morning all. It's my green week too Ding and we've done it every night apart from last night because I don't feel we'll and couldn't bring bring myself to do it. According to pink pad my full flower day is Friday, so I should be ok from not having done it last night right?
