Camomile is meant to be good for fertility...

I might drink green tea but I don't actually like it...Grin

oinker · 24/05/2006 19:53

Camomile helps you sleep Grin Grin

Isn't that defeating the object if TTC ? Wink Grin Shock

babyfettle · 24/05/2006 20:19

Don't know about fertility, but I think green tea is meant to increase your cells' response to insulin, thereby boost calorie burning. In fact, so my source says (not confirmed!!), 4 cups a day increases the metabolic rate by about 4%, leading to an extra 65 calories a day burnt (Apparently the equivalent to a 6-minute bicycle ride!)Grin

babyfettle · 24/05/2006 20:19

So so sorry to hear about AF, Rubles - was so sure it was going to be your month.Sad

Keeping my fingers-crossed for you both, Bobbynog and Smole!Smile

bobbynog · 24/05/2006 20:37

Sorry for my absenece - i kept away from the computer yesterday other wise i would have gone insane.
Sorry your AF came rubles - you seem ok about it though.
Mine has still not arrived! I haven't done a test yet - i am going to try to wait a couple of days, just in case my body is playing tricks on me!

rubles · 25/05/2006 08:34

Well done Bobbynog for not testing - very strong of you! I thought that you were probably trying to keep the insanity at bay by keeping away. Things are looking good though now, aren't they?? Or are you sometimes a couple of days late?

bobbynog · 25/05/2006 08:50

I don't really know my true cycle - i had been on the pill for ages before i had dd, then went back on when she was 6 weeks old. I had only been off it a couple of months when i fell pregnant again, and after the miscarriage i have been all over the place - so who knows!
DH wants me to wait to test for another week, so we might compromise and test on friday! Then we are off on holiday for a week, so either way i will be happy - iyswim!

weewilliewinkie · 25/05/2006 11:27

I admire your strength, bobbynog! I start testing a week before my af is due! But then, patience is not my strongest point....Smile

Good luck for when you do test!!!

nadinetd · 25/05/2006 14:17

Hi ladies
i posted a thread in the miscarraige bit and some of the girls said i should pop in here!
i had a missed miscarraige 2 months ago, it was mine and my husbands 1st pg and we were so thrilled, we feel within 3 months of trying and the baby was due on our 1st wedding anniversary, i thought it was too good to be true and turned out it was, had to have d+c at 10 weeks as baby stopped growing at 6. it so hard, i went back to work straight away after a simple opertation and no complications, i have had 2 periods and we are trying again, ovulation sticks at the ready!
the hardest bit for me is me and my sister-in-law fell pg ithin 3 weeks of each other, she is now 22 weeks and im so thrilled her baby is well, but its so hard being around her, i dont want to cause a rift between us as my husband and his brother are very close, also i am close to her but its hard seeing her bump grow!
please dont think i resent her or her baby bump its just hard!
i hope to get pregnant soon, hom long did it take u guys to fall pg after miscarriage?

thanks

nadine x

oinker · 25/05/2006 15:45

nadinetd......

I am so sorry for your loss.Sad It is hard but you have come to the right place.

I don't think there is any specific timing for pregnancy after m/c. It's up to the individual. I have fallen pg straight after m/c and then between 2 and 4mths after m/c's. Mind you i am a bit of a unique case. Smile I have had 7 m/c and no viable p/g. ShockSad Don't panic though I am recieving medical treatment and have several different problems. Hopefully they will be resolved soon.
The graduates from this thread onto Pregnancy after m/c thread took about 2 to 6mths to conceive.

WELCOME Smile

Angsthase · 25/05/2006 16:53

Welcome Nadinedt!!

I lost my first pg too (and am now ttc my second). It is really hard isn't it - especially if someone close is pg. Know exactly the mixture of emotions you're talking about. I'm hoping that will get better as time goes on. Sure it will.

The great thing here is everyone on this thread knows something of how you feel and they're full of excellent advise. Smile

rubles · 25/05/2006 20:03

Nadinetd,

I saw your last post about the ovulations sticks and you saying you are following the instructions to the letter. Are you looking at other signs like CM (cervical mucous) to give you an indication of when you are fertile? Ovulation sticks can be useful but people do have a lot of problems with them too so just because you don't get a +ve reading from them i don't think you can completely rely on them.

weewilliewinkie · 25/05/2006 20:20

Welcome Nadinetd - you found us then! Smile

so much for me relaxing about ttc this month, still find it consuming my thoughts! I have just ordered the Toni Weschler book as I kept reading good things about it - the Amazon reviewers certainly seem to love it! Worth a try, it's all worth a try....

Can I just let you all know that in the past 2 days I have fallen over TWICE in front of CROWDS of people. I keep cringing to myself. Yesterday I literally flew across the floor at Mums and Tots group - highy humiliating, esp when no-one actually laughed - instead I just got concerned faces and 'are you alright?!'. This morning my ds got under my feet on the way into creche and we both tumbled to the ground. Dear God. Blush I have become a blundering old fool. BlushBlushBlush

babyfettle · 25/05/2006 20:46

What fantastic self-control you have Bobbynog! Do so hope it is good news for you!Smile

Hi Nadinetd - so sorry to hear about your MC. It is hard when people close to you are pg. Try and stay positive, although we all know how hard that is at times.

Sorry, TMI and SAC alert!!

On CD18 and still no sign of ovulation yet, not that surprising as my cycles can run to over 40 days, but this BD-ing every other day is exhausting (am I allowed to admit that!!)Blush

Trying not to get stressed by TTC, but it is so difficult as I know if we don't do it this cycle, that's me out of the picture for trying until November. Oh so frustrating - really feeling fed up with the MC today.Sad Not helped that DH is out, as normally a hug from him sorts me out!

Anyway, time for some Smile therapy!!
:) :) :o :) :) :o

cece · 25/05/2006 22:06

Bobbynog - when will you test? Just so I know when to chekc in.

Babyfettle - keep at it girl!

jbenev5338 · 26/05/2006 02:55

hey nadinetd......
Sounds like we are on the same boat. I miscarried about 2 months ago but i had what they call a blighted ovum which means no baby ever formed. It has been really tough because it was my first pregnancy and i had all these new plans for my new house and new baby and then that was gone instantly. My in laws and family and friends took it very hard and didnt know how to confront it. I am trying to conceive and this month has been the month that i have really tried and all i can think about is taking that pregnancy test and am beginning to obsess about it. I'm just nervous to find out if i am because i will be very nervous. I also feel very alone because i am feeling some symptoms but feel like i cannot discuss them with others because i dont want anyone to know i am pregnant if i am.

weewilliewinkie · 26/05/2006 07:29

Hi jb...welcome

you know that you can discuss whatever you like here, everyone will be happy to listen and offer advice, if you want it. It's incrediblely hard waiting to test (god knows how bobbynog's held off!) and then crushing if you get a -ve result. But we're all here to support each other and sooner or later, we'll all get our +ve results, I'm sure! Smile

babyfettle - i know exactly how you feel - some days I even think, 'oh no not again'! Wink - but you know that you'd be kicking yourself if you missed an opportunity...soldier on, lady! Grin

rubles · 26/05/2006 08:51

Hi all I can't write much as today is my day off from work with dd so I don't get on much on Fridays.

www - lol at you falling over. if it helps, i probably would have warmed to you if you came in to my creche and fell over. I had a look at the toni weschler book in WHSmith yesterday - thought it seemed quite good actually. There were photographs of different sort of cM in there, which was interesting but I was a bit embarrassed in case anyone was looking over my shoulder.

jb - what symptoms are you getting? when is af due? you can obsess on here if it helps and makes you feel less alone and doesn't make you feel more mad.

On the subject of lots of bding. I find it more difficult at home in the week. dp doesn't get home from work until 8ish by which time we are both tired and need to eat and frankly we have to make the effort to be in the mood. On holiday it was so easy to do it loads but it is a different story at home surrounded by day to day stuff and 'things to do' all around me.

bobbynog · 26/05/2006 09:36

Morning all, and hi jb and nadine - this thread is where we all come to worry, moan, rant and support - every one is great!
Well still no Af today - i will do a test tonight after dd has gone to bed. I am already panicing that it may be positive - Half of me is really excited the other side is bricking myself incase anything goes wrong again, but i suppose i will just have to wait and see. I also feel guilty as this is what you all want - you have all been so nice to me these past few months. I am an emotional wreck yet again!!!!

nadinetd · 26/05/2006 09:40

hi
thanks so much to you all for ur warm welcome

i dont know much about mucus and stuff to be honest i have psent most my adult life making sure i dont get pregnant, thinking that if i forget my pill thats it im pregnant, but when you actually are tryin you realsie it is not that easy.
this was my 1st pregnacy and i try to be strong and put a front on to everyone coz usually im so happy and bubbly, i think i will feel somuch better if i ger pregnant agian, its also hard as my husband has 2 boys from a previous relationship and i feel he isnt as bothered although he asures me he is and all my famiily and friends say he is!
i know my emotions are a bit up in the air i just want our baby!

nadinetd · 26/05/2006 09:41

hi bobbynog

keeping everything crossed for you!

xxxx

Nicola63 · 26/05/2006 15:20

Hi all

Had the hysteroscope yesterday, he ended up doing it under a general anaesthetic, so I feel rather horrible today still. It was surprisingly sore when I woke up (and still), and I realise now it's because he had to do a lot of poking about. I was supposed to wait for him yesterday to come and talk to me afterwards, but I didn't realise it and went off home before he came! He (the obstetrician) phoned me later, laughing at me for not waiting (I work in a hospital but can't stand being a patient in one and got out of there as soon as I could stand up!), and he said I must come and see him today, which I am doing in about an hour. He was able to tell me on the phone that I seemed to have some sort of adhesions or something on the one side of the uterus (I had previously, prior to my last mc, had adhesions seen on hysterogram too), and that he needs to discuss all this with me in detail. So me and DH are off to the hospital shortly to see him.

I don't know what the implications will be but it may be surgery to divide the adhesions. Feeling rather fragile at present. If only this could all be a bit easier!!

babyfettle · 26/05/2006 19:40

Big Hug Nicola - I hope your meeting with you consultant went ok this afternoon Smile

Bobbynog, how you doing? so so hope you get the result you hope for tonight.

Need some energy dust tonight - I'm tired, but then always am after a busy week at work. But DH is complaining of being really tired and it's a BD night!! Blimey - doesn't TTC take the romance and spontaneity out of your relationship!!Shock Grin!

bobbynog · 26/05/2006 21:48

It's positive! I am pregnant! I can't believe it!
SOrry to break the news and run but i am going on holiday tomorrow and i have a million and one things to do.
I will check back next week - i don't feel ready to join the "other" thread yet!
Wishing you all loads of luck whhilst i'm gone.

jbenev5338 · 27/05/2006 04:05

hello bobbnog, weewilliewinkie, and rubles thanks for your responses. Well rubles i am AF is due on June 3rd. I am getting some type of cramping on my right side, heightened smell, my skin broke out, very moody, tired, very hot, and insomnia. The thing that has me mostly convinced is the cramping because when i got pregnant back in January i remember saying and complaining about cramps but had no idea it was me becoming pregnant. I have no idea what to think i dont want to get all excited and convinced until i find out i am and see a baby and hear a heartbeat. I'm also having a hard time discussing what im feeling with others because i dont want people around me to know if i am because of my miscarriage i want to wait to tell people. Any ideas, words of encouragement. I hate this waiting thing last time i got pregnant it was great i was not expecting it and didnt even realize i was a week late until someone asked me when i wanted to have children. I would appreciate any input. Thanks
