Just Shagging Part 10; No science or skill, JS at will!

AWomanCalledHorse · 27/06/2012 14:03

Welcome to the lazy way to make a baby, part 10!!

Just Shagging (JS) is ttc using ye olde shagging & crossing fingers methods, our tools are your body, OH?s body..urm some wine & lots of finger crossing.

All are welcome, most leave happy & upduffed! The last two threads have been very successful; thread 8 had 5 BFP?s, thread 9 had 6 BFP?s....so we?re due 7 BFP?s here, which means we all need to get shagging.

We don?t ?do?; OPKS, taking temp or harcore charting...although it is nice to know when ERTD is due.
Which brings us to acronyms & slang;
AF=ERTD (Evil Red Tide Of Doom).
EWCM=Pant Snot
Getting a BFP soon after joining thread= Doing a kitten
You=Are a viroid, no idea why but it goes long back to the dawn of time.
DTD=JS or donning the Shag cape.
POAS=Sometimes referred to as PIAR (Pissing In A Ramekin), as we?re such classy ladies

Here is last thread for proof that it works, and that you can't shut us up Grin

Here is the Graduates thread!

I like SMA swimming :)

frustrated I reckon the egg aisle is the perfect place to be shouting PANT SNOT - very fitting! Every time I see ewcm written down, I always think "ewwwww-cm"....

hooya the first month I came off the pill I had epic pant snot, but since then not much at all....not sure what everyone else has experienced. I hadn't given it much thought but now I'm worrying Confused

AWomanCalledHorse · 01/08/2012 10:33

frustrated, I don't know why but I have to say 'PANT SNOT Hoo ha ha' (like they say Shark Bait Hoo HaHa in finding nemo).

SMA is good swimming, good & the baby milk company..what could be more prophetic!

ERTD is due this week...

OP posts:
Hooya · 01/08/2012 14:11

SMA swimming - I like it!

Nice to know that out there, others are worrying about pant snot!

horse good luck, I hope ERTD stays away and the SMA works!!

Must focus properly on JSing for a few days as I might be due to ov soon...

In other news, I had such bad wind today that I looked proper pregnant! I caught someone looking, rather unfortunately as I was rubbing my sore tummy! Now I bet they think I am upduffed, oops...

mandasand · 01/08/2012 17:04

Hello lovelies, just checking in on you all :-) Hope you've been at it like rabbits. Now I don't want to brag ... but I think I have to tell you that I am holding this thread entirely responsible for the fact I'm expecting twins, especially as it was (90% likely) two separate eggs that got sperminated! I think it's because my aged ovaries were firing out lots of eggs soon after coming off contraception. DH's new middle name is Supersperm. Very early days yet, but I'm 9 weeks so chance of MC is down to 2%, I'm told. So, keep the faith, friends, and keep on JSing! Smile

NicolaHazel · 01/08/2012 17:53

Wow! Congratulations!

I'd love to have twins :-)

Just as a matter of interest, how old are you and how long after coming off contraception did you fall?

About 20% of pregnancies to over-35s are twins, apparently.

AWomanCalledHorse · 01/08/2012 18:39

Yay you & your over-firing ovaries Mandasand, big congrats on the twins..may you have a boring, safe & not growing too massive pregnancy Grin
How many extra appointments/scans are you expected to have? and another Grin because that's such amazing news!!

Nicola, interesting fact..is that because over 35's are more likely to have aided conception or because your body just goes a bit egg happy towards the 'end' (how bloody depressing) of your natural fertility? Or something I've missed!!

Had rare steak for lunch, that and the binge drinking of 2 weekend's ago should be enough to have luck on my side this month! I might go pop some ibuprofen & eat lots of soft cheese just to be sure....
Hooya, well now that someone thinks you look up-duffed you can't dissapoint them!

Hope everyone has been enjoying the Olympics?
Great part of SAHM-ing & grumpy baby means I've watched basically everything I've wanted too!

Happy Hump Day everyone (Wednesday should be official JS day).

cheers, ladies! I'm 37 and I fell pregnant after about three months of coming off progesterone-only pill. Was on that 4 months or so after coming off years of Depo injections. Was told it could take months for fertility to return, so this was all a bit unexpected!

Yes, I've read that after 35 your ovaries start firing out the eggs! I think the stats no doubt include all those who have assistance with fertility, but there is something about the ovaries wanting to retire, perhaps!

TERRIFIED about how big I'm going to get! Keep freaking myself out with Google images of heavily and multiply pregnant women!

Mine are in separate sacs with separate placentas, so they are the least problematic kind of twins (yay!) This means that I will have scans every month once things get doing, rather than every two. I understand that I'll be too big to move in about 19 weeks, and it's going to be another 5 before I tell my boss (he goes on holiday the day I have my 12-week scan!) so I'm hoping he'll have a sense of humour about how much time I'll need off work. There was me thinking I'd work up till the end etc!! I'm not even sure I'll be able to reach the keyboard in a few months! Oh bloody hell ? ! Anyway, long road ahead, nothing's certain, etc.

So, be encouraged in your shagging, ladies! Anything can happen! xx

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 01/08/2012 18:55

Wow congratulations Mandasand!
(That would be my secretly hoped for scenario - only one pregnancy Wink although I do realise it may be slightly more tricky and uncomfortable - hope all goes well)

NicolaHazel · 01/08/2012 18:57

I'm so pleased for you Manda.

Apart from 2 years age difference, and I was on the combined pill, we have similar stories. Fx I'm as lucky as you :-)

And Woman, I'm not sure...probably something to do with a last hurrah, I imagine. Plus assisted conception thrown in. I'm sure I read it somewhere on MN though.

Kittenkatzen · 02/08/2012 09:14

TWINS wow! Double congratulations mandasand how exciting :o

mandasand · 02/08/2012 12:44

thanks, lovelies! fingers crossed for some more JSing BFPs this summer! xx

fryingpantoface · 02/08/2012 14:29

Congrats Manda!

DH and I js a couple of nights ago. twas lovely

Hooya · 02/08/2012 14:55

Wow congrats mandasand - must have been an amazing moment to find out there were two!!

Exciting development in my world today - PANT SNOT!! Does that mean I'm oving? Or just (TMI alert) leftover from JSing last night (exhausted after staying up to watch the cycling but unexpectedly great)? More tonight I guess Grin

AWomanCalledHorse · 02/08/2012 15:15

Hooya, my 'leftover' (we need a phrase for that) normal plops out the next day (vair glamorous), so it could be either! So helpful.

frying, innit great when you have decent sex instead of 'Impregnate me!!!' sex.

mandasand Shock Well at least you won't be big & uncomfortable in the heigh of summer heat. Hope you've got lots of RL support you can bark orders at to pick stuff up for you? Grin

ERTD is due in the next 2-4 days, I want to PIAR so badly

OP posts:
mandasand · 02/08/2012 15:41

Woman, yes I guess that is the bright side of being the size of a whale, hehe! I intend to hibernate all winter! It will be interesting to see how much RL support materialises close to where we live. Our families and big bunch of friends are 3-4 hours away in the NW. We have a few friends with kids close by, but not many. Most of my mates are childless women who will either, I predict, be hugely helpful or may disappear in horror! We shall see. It goes against my principles but we may get a cleaner for the last month of preg and a couple of months after. This is one piece of advice that the twins threads really advise - you can't move or sleep much in the last months, and you're not going to get a lot of sleep after. A lot of people even get a sort of doula to stick around for a couple of months after too. I plan to join the local TAMBA (twins and multiples) club before I give birth as that, apparently, is a good way of meeting supportive others (and getting second-hand stuff). But, that is all speaking very optimistically - there's a long road ahead!

YAY for pantsnot. May the force be with you, ladies! Smile

Hooya · 02/08/2012 15:51

horse 2-4 days, ooh exciting! How are you going to distract yourself from testing?

I am trying totally failing to prepare myself for this being a long process and for the JSing becoming less fun. But while it still is I plan to enjoy it Grin

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 02/08/2012 18:59

Well ERTD was due in 3 days but I think its come early Sad
Although I'm not doing the temp/charting/sticks thing I think I've been a bit obsessed last couple of months so I think I may take a step back from the EOD and back to doing it when the mood takes us. Logically I know the answer is lots of JS but I'm going to 'listen' to my body and initiate only if I'm feeling horny or DP initiates and I fancy it.
That said I've been feeling full of cold all week so maybe I just need some decent sleep and then I'll feel energised again!

However ladies, that doesn't mean you should slow down Grin and I want to hear of more JSing and BFP's from the rest of you!!!!

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 02/08/2012 19:01

Horse I'm looking at you... Unless anyone else is PIAR sooner than Horse!

AWomanCalledHorse · 02/08/2012 19:25

Grin I have a bazillion, alright 30 internet cheapy tests, am very tempted to just PIAR everyday until I get my BFP, even with ERTD, so no idea how to distract myself!

:( Sorry it got you Stuck (anyone else feel like they're in a Western when they type that?), it's so easy o get obsessed with it all, you spend your entire life trying not to get pregnant then when you want it your eggs throw a hissy fit. Hope you lurk & post every now & again! x

mandasand, I'm anti-hired help in most circumstances, but honestly if it weren't for DMIL I would've hired a cleaner before I gave birth because I just felt so awful (couldn't stand up long enough to wash up from about 20wks), so am hoping you have an easy ride, look forward to hearing how you're progressing (and want to know if you've managed to avoid telling people in RL that you're having twins? I would be bursting to tell someone)! x

OP posts:
ChildOfThe1980s · 02/08/2012 19:37

Congrats x 2 Mandasand !

Everyone keeps telling me that I will have twins - what?!

I am ok now, just had a shaky few days, pretty convinced that I would MC. I did have some bleeding this week. I went to my GP who said 'there's nothing we can do before 8 weeks and it's too early to scan.' Which strangely put me at peace about it - if I have no control I know I can leave it with God (phew).

Kittenkatzen · 02/08/2012 20:35

Awww stuck sorry it got you :( it really is so easy to become obsessed isn't it. Good idea to take a step back and get your head back straight if it's getting too much. Hope the cold buggers off and you're feeling brighter soon!

child glad you're feeling a bit more at peace now

livismum · 02/08/2012 23:00

Hey ladies I'm rather tentatively peering back around the door! For those of u new here I was over here in march/April I was lucky to get a bfp quickly but then sadly discovered I had a mmc at my 12 week scan Sad they suspected a molar pregnancy which would mean holding off ttc for 6 months, but test results didn't show the abnormality so I think I'll be able to ttc straight away. So mixed feelings about being back, sad, but happy it's sooner than I thought iyswim, had my fist ertd last week (while camping, not ideal!)
So anyways hello everyone! Poor DH not had much action lately so should be happy to get back to JSing!

mandasand · 02/08/2012 23:20

Stuck there's a lot to be said for listening to your body. EoD can be a bit mechanical but it does depend on what else is going on - tiredness, colds etc. See how you feel after your ERTD.

Hey Woman Smile I think I'm really going to miss not having family close by (both sides in NW, 3-4 hours away) when the babies arrive. Be lovely to have my mum come and tidy up and make her wonderful soup! I have told some girlfriends, mostly those who are preggers or who have kids. And we are about to break the news to some close mates over the weekend (they know we've been trying and they are going to go mad about us being preg already, and then when they hear it's twins ? hmm!) I've not told work yet. And we've not told families because we want to wait until after 12-week scan, just in case anything's wrong - we don't want to upset them. (They don't even know we're trying so they are going to be so excited, especially our mums!) It's been really hard not to tell my mum, but because of past circumstances (her many MCs, and my own history, it's safest not to say anything till we're sure). Oh, go on ? PIAR for the hell of it!

Thanks for the congrats Child - very sweet of you especially when things are a little bit uncertain with you. Are you in the due in April thread? Sorry I've slightly lost track with things. The March thread is really reassuring and jolly.

Sorry to hear about your story Livismum. Apparently you're quite fertile after a MC, so hope you can get back into JSing soon and get another BFP and a happy ending Smile

Practisingparent · 02/08/2012 23:33

livismum sorry to hear about your mmc, i can only imagine how heartbreaking that is. Im glad you can carry on ttc straight away.

wing been away from a computer for a week, but very many congratulations to you and mandasand (do your twins count as 2 BFP's?). Such great news for you both.

child glad you are feeling more positive, its a weight off when you can just trust the situation into Gods hands.

All of this has really made me think thats a BFP is just the start of a chance to have a baby in 9 months iykwim, and that its not just plain sailing!

Back in the Practising household, dh and I fell out last saturday and are really only just making up (he bought me roses today, I love flowers!). So no js here, and I think i spied pant snot today, so will have to make my peace with probably not being pregnant for my 31st birthday Sad, but at least I can have a few drinks!

babylann · 02/08/2012 23:58

Hi everyone :) Also one who people may remember, I was the creator of this thread's 9th part, and got my BFP after being a member of the thread for 15 months on/off. However I sadly found out last week that I'd had an mmc and went for my erpc yesterday and am now preparing to climb back aboard this old thread which looked after me so well for those months of JSing, as despite my eagerness for a baby getting much stronger since getting to 11 weeks pg and then getting our bad news, JSing still is and will always be my method of conception!

Can't say I'm glad to be back, but I wouldn't rather be in any other conception thread :) Not going to start JSing for at least a couple of weeks (I know I'm supposed to wait until ERTD has passed at least once but with me having cycles of anything between 30 to 90+ days long I'm not willing to wait that long), and will take pg tests until they're negative before we do start to make sure when I do get a BFP I will know it's a new pregnancy and not hormonal after effects of the last one.
