Just Shagging Part 10; No science or skill, JS at will!

AWomanCalledHorse · 27/06/2012 14:03

Welcome to the lazy way to make a baby, part 10!!

Just Shagging (JS) is ttc using ye olde shagging & crossing fingers methods, our tools are your body, OH?s body..urm some wine & lots of finger crossing.

All are welcome, most leave happy & upduffed! The last two threads have been very successful; thread 8 had 5 BFP?s, thread 9 had 6 BFP?s....so we?re due 7 BFP?s here, which means we all need to get shagging.

We don?t ?do?; OPKS, taking temp or harcore charting...although it is nice to know when ERTD is due.
Which brings us to acronyms & slang;
AF=ERTD (Evil Red Tide Of Doom).
EWCM=Pant Snot
Getting a BFP soon after joining thread= Doing a kitten
You=Are a viroid, no idea why but it goes long back to the dawn of time.
DTD=JS or donning the Shag cape.
POAS=Sometimes referred to as PIAR (Pissing In A Ramekin), as we?re such classy ladies

Here is last thread for proof that it works, and that you can't shut us up Grin

Here is the Graduates thread!

Guinea I bet my not my iPhone hat that you are pg. It just seems far too weird that you are getting obvious symptoms like this... Fingers crossed anyway :)

Top Handing your notice in? Not knowing what you do I can't tell whether this is a sad thing or a great and exciting thing??

My week involves work - yawn- hopefully getting my stuff out to public consultation today, more work, a bit more work, hopefully seeing my cousin and her family who have got a holiday home in the Lakes on Thursday, v naice, then my DNeice's birthday party and hopefully DS staying over (but now I'm due to have ERTD there'll be no JSing disappointingly...), church on Sunday etc etc.

WingDefence · 16/07/2012 13:59

Oh and Guinea I love Pampered Chef stuff. Do you work for them? I may need a couple of bits ordering if so and I'm happy to give you the order instead of doing it online :)

Kittenkatzen · 16/07/2012 14:16

What's Pampered Chef stuff?

Wing am very Envy of your plans to visit the Lakes - that's my absolute favourite place in the country!

Well I'm suitably jealous of all your lovely plans for the week - and even some of the less lovely ones. My boss is away so I can't even count on work to keep me occupied

guinea I have to say that from your list of symptoms i'd be pretty confused as to why there was no BFP too! You do hear of some ladies having delayed HCG release though don't you?

topbannana · 16/07/2012 14:45

wing I am a photographer at the hospital, doing newborn baby photos. Sadly threatened with redundancy (and no pay out as I have not been there long enough) I have decided to go back to the ubiquitous golden arches :( When I worked there before I loved it once I had got over myself :o as it was completely stress free and SO flexible and it would be regular money. I was doing my managers exams and have been told I can go back at my old level so, with the way the world is at the moment it would be foolish not to take it and make plans from there plus nothing is likely to make me fall pregnant than a return to full time work

WingDefence · 16/07/2012 16:06

Manager level eh Top - that's not to be sniffed at! I have a colleague who used to work for McDs. He ended up going out to Israel to help train staff when they opened up over there (in the 90s I'm guessing). He always says what a great team environment it was and free food Grin

Kitten Pampered Chef does parties - a bit like Tupperware used to - and sells really excellent quality kitchen and bakeware. Some of it is pretty pricey but if you host a party yourself you get a big discount and free stuff too and 10% for a year afterwards. Their stoneware is amazing which is stuff you can use in place of baking trays, tins etc etc and cooks without extra fat and oil (and it makes me feel like a domestic goddess!). You can buy it online but it's better to find a 'consultant' who will then earn money through your purchases.

Kittenkatzen · 16/07/2012 18:41

Ooh sounds fab, thanks for the tip will give it a google Smile

Kittenkatzen · 16/07/2012 18:45

Oops, trigger happy fingers....

top your current job sounds lovely, such a shame about the redundancy. Still, managers exams does sound exciting and a flexible, friendly working environment has SO much to say for itself. I wish I could find an office with that kind of atmosphere.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 16/07/2012 20:59

Kitten what Wing said!! Pampered Chef is brilliant (I am a consultant Wing).

I do it as a hobby/to earn extra money and its so flexible because I choose my own hours. I LOVE the products and they too make me feel like a domestic goddess!! we do cooking parties to give people the chance to try before they buy and find out about the products. They are also really fun nights in. You should try to get to one. Or better yet host one and get loads of free stuff!!

Wing You can order here if you like?

WingDefence · 16/07/2012 21:08

Well hellooooooooo Guinea! I might reacquaint myself with the current brochure but I do fancy the new bit of stoneware with the ridges. I won't hijack this thread though, I'll be in touch Grin

Poor DH has come down with manful a cold so it's a good job JSing isn't on the agenda for tonight. I finished the little bit of Wine left over from last night while he had a lemsip.

And we're watching Lancashire cricket on Sky so I'm having to record BINTM. At least it means I can FF through the adverts when I do watch it :)

Practisingparent · 16/07/2012 22:07

You lot don't half talk!... Pages and pages to catch up on!

Guinea I so want to host one of those parties! That is going to be an aim of mine by the end of summer the year.

We have had a lovely weekend away in Bournmouth which was fab, I was getting over a cold though, so just one JS, but will jump him again tonight, like wing Im in the 2 ww, except with no idea when ERTD will arrive! but it will

topbannana · 16/07/2012 22:20

wing I think you may find that your DH is actually suffering from relic flu (we have a serious case of it here tonight I'm afraid!)
Relic flu is even worse than man flu (IME) and definitely puts paid to any shag cape action (though the victim was asleep by 9.45 with the heating turned up tonight so I have abandoned that idea for tonight)
I am in the 2WW but also little idea when ERTD is due, I figure by the end of July as I will be on CD35 by then. I confess that after DH's one man shagging crusade I shall be a little extra disappointed if ERTD does turn up Hmm

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 16/07/2012 22:37

Ok. So TMI warning...

I thought I saw a slight tinge of colour on the tissue when I wiped after having a wee. Couldn't decide whether it was just the light in the room so decided to have a fiddle around up there and see what came out.

Well, it was thick (not like blood) and sort of browny/pinkish (but could neither be described as Brown or as pink). Any ideas? Have never noticed this before ERTD in the past but I suppose I've never really checked before now.

WingDefence · 17/07/2012 08:23

That's spotting I think Guinea and after my extensive research when I was waiting for ERTD last month, it can be completely normal and leave to nothing else. Even brown bleeding can be totally fine when pg - you'll know if it is ERTD or not. Try not to worry about it - it's easy to get obsessive (I know), running to the loo every hour to check what's happening but there's nothing you can do about it Bear

I've got a migraine this morning. Probably the first one since we moved up here 15 months ago. I'm sure I read somewhere that if you take paracetamol/ibuprofen it can affect the thing-that-is-the-egg-and-sperm from implanting so I really didn't want to take anything but I have had to as it is bad.

Practising sorry about the chatting :( Top, yes that's it - relic flu!

Kittenkatzen · 17/07/2012 09:23

Agree re the spotting guinea - I sometimes notice this a few days before ertd shows up.....although as wing says it can just as easily be nothing, just one of those things, so try and pretend it's not happening so you don't wind yourself up over it!

I am loving the Pampered Chef website! Kitchen porn! Have already mentioned it to DH so that he's well prepared ahead of my birthday, and will be looking into going to/hosting a party too :)

Well, today is mine and DH's 6-month wedding anniversary.....i think a celebratory JS will be in order this evening :o:o

wing hope your migraine goes soon

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 17/07/2012 12:00

Hi all, am a bit stuck at work as systems not working so I have some time to kill!
I am trying hard not to symptom spot and also not to get obsessive but I think I am failing. Even DP said 'you really are bitten by the broody bug aren't you?'. So I think my attempts at playing it cool are not working!

I read the thread about TTC myths and hopefully it will calm me down... I will keep repeating a) most symptoms are PMT symptoms, b) as we are in 4th month of trying it is massively early days and I shouldn't worry till Christmas (although I'm thinking a trip to docs at end of Sept as it will be 6 months and I am getting on a bit - just to see if they can give me and DP a once over!) and c) we will do EOD this month because in previous months I think we weren't quite as diligent!

So onto other things - first I'd seen of Pampered Chef - looks very nice! I don't 'need' anything so not going to look in detail but next time I need to replace something I was intending to get quality things so this will be first place to take a look!

Right - time for lunch, lets go see what the dodgy canteen has in store for us today!

WingDefence · 17/07/2012 13:19

Thanks Kitten. My head isn't hurting as such now, but I'm just in a post-migraine limbo where it feels as if my brain is floating about in my skull and I'm a bit woooo and dizzy. I'm sure I'll be fine later though. And happy 6 months anniversary! Grin

Hi there Stuck! I'm afraid you'll have to remind me when ERTD is/was due?

And please do send me to the TTC Myths thread. You are very good in repeating those things to yourself. I reckon I should take my cue from you :)

Hope the dodgy canteen lunch wasn't too dodgy!

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 17/07/2012 17:34

Glad you're head is feeling better Wing.

So it seems that the spotting was preceding ERTD Sad. I feel rubbish. Started bleeding mid-morning, I thought with it being so long since the last ERTD that it would be really heavy but not a lot so far - just feel really crampy and bloated (tmi?)

I think I am going to start charting this month. We're still going to try EOD and focus on lots of sex but I just want to know if/when I'm OV. At least that way I'll know when to expect my period instead of it being six weeks and thinking I could be pregnant. No matter how much I tell myself I'll stay relaxed I know that as soon as I'm late (especially this late) that I'll start getting my hopes up. The Dr also said he would do a blood test to check my hormone levels so I'll book in tomorrow. Not going to do OPKs as I don't want to start focusing sex around OV but think temp charting would help me to feel like I'm doing something.

Part of me thinks I desperately want to be pg RIGHT NOW (because this would give me the 'perfect' age gap and because I'm ridiculously impatient. The other part thinks that you can't rush these things and God knows exactly what he's doing. Confused

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 17/07/2012 17:56

WD Here's the myths thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1518836-TTC-Myths-Exposed

I'm not due an ERTD for a while till 5th August, and just checking my app today is start of my fertile phase! I don't really believe them so we have been busy (on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday!!!) and to stick to the plan I will be donning the shag cape tonight!!!

Didn't like the hot food choices today so it was the salad bar - nothing special but it is food! I'm not a regular migraine sufferer but occasionally have vision migraines so I know that wierd spacey feeling afterwards, at least you've not got the pain part anymore.

Guineapigs I can't remember have you been TTC for long? Get that appointment sorted and let us know what they say. I'm sure you're not the only one that starts with a 'JS' approach and it morphs into a bit more control. I can see myself going that way in a few months time as I am a control freak!!

WingDefence · 17/07/2012 18:06

Oh Guinea I am so sorry to hear that it's probably ERTD. I know exactly how you feel after last month. I remember being more angry than anything after the sadness went.

And if you have an irregular cycle then temp charting could help you you must only stick to JSing of course :)

Stuck at least it is free food!

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 17/07/2012 19:33

Stuck we've not been trying for long but DS was an accident and I only found out at 12 weeks! I became pg within 1st cycle with DD hence I am ridiculously impatient. I have always had problems with my periods until I stopped BFing DD at which point they became to-the-day accurate. Then they suddenly went all haywire so Dr said to check I am still OVing.

DP doesn't think I'll get pg whilst ERTD is regular as I wasnt when it happened before Grin. Who knows...just want to know I am OVing then we'll go back to JSing.

Dysgu · 17/07/2012 22:01

This thread moves on so quickly...

I have such a busy week as school finishes this week and my class is moving on to secondary school so we have LOADS to do and so much stuff seems to be organised at the last minute! We have a new head teacher, this is the first class to leave in 3 years (we have moved from a 3-tier to a 2-tier system) and, being a church school , we have all the extra stuff the diocese organises so today we had to take a trip to the mainland for the leavers' service in the cathedral.

Only got a fashion show, prom (!), and leavers' assembly to go and we are done - then i have one day to pack up my room and try to get into my new room before school closes for cleaning for a month and we are off on holiday on the 27th (only as far as Kent).

And we still have the decorators in, we have had the carpet people round and will hopefully sort out for the carpet to be fitted next week before our holiday. We also have to sort a house clean as the place is so full of plaster dust - should we do that before or after the carpet is fitted.

SO we are not quite keeping up with the JSing EOD but continue to aim for that! I think I will have to get DP to sort an APP for his iphone as I have totally lost track of where I am in my cycle and am just waiting for ERTD but cannot recall when it is due to arrive.

But the sun was shining here today and I baked cookies with my DDs after school so life is good. Hope it is good with you all.

notsoold · 18/07/2012 08:35

Morning all!
I have been reading with interest all the post (aren't you good writers?). But I don't have any news. DH has the kidney stone surgery on the 6th, but still in a bit of pain (after treatment) and I am just having one of those sad days week re MC. yes it sucks :(
impressed with you and the home improvement Dysgu
wing a good day to you without migraines :)
guinea you will get there!!
top relic flu?? That is really good. I will use the name (mentioning you for copyrighs ) when DH is "dying" with a runny nose!

Kittenkatzen · 18/07/2012 10:45

Morning shaggers :)

dysgu not much going on then!

notso sorry you're feeling down :( have a Brew and chocolate from me to cheer you up a little bit

Well I think that's me into the 2ww now....not convinced it will be our month - my phone app reckons ov was Monday, and the last time we JS'd was Sunday morning. We'll see!

Happy Wednesday all.....halfway through the week - I can see the weekend on the horizon!

fryingpantoface · 18/07/2012 12:12

Morning!
I'm back. Kinda fear this won't be interesting to anyone else!

Well, Friday my mom arrived for the weekend. We did a sneaky js while they were in the other room I then decided to go to the North East on the Sunday.

DS came down with a cold which meant i had 45 mins sleep that night. In total. It was absolutely awful. So to cheer me up, DH and I indulged in a Google Talk (so face to face) well, phone to phone, fool around. Flipping lovely! Again, felt a bit naughty. Not condusive to having a baby, but more fun and less embarrassing then i thought.

tuesday ran, literally, into an old boyfriend up the street. He asked me out! Told him i was married, but he said he didn't care. He was given a short shrift! But i did feel smug all day.

Got home tuesday night, too tired to js, but couldn't sleep until half one. had to get up for work at 6.15. Soo tired!

So that was it! Hope i didn't disppoint too much

WingDefence · 18/07/2012 14:52

Frying you must be knackered (and not the JSing type unfortunately)!

Well done on heading off the old boyfriend. You don't want to be on Jeremy Kyle doing a DNA in 9 months' time do you?! Grin

Notsoold I don't know what to say about your MC I'm afraid :( There must be a support thread on here or are you in contact with a local MC support group?
