Sorry if this sounds dim - can anyone explain what epo does to help? Willing to try anything next month! FA is the only thing I'm taking at the mo.

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 12:09

Oh, I know, Kicking, of that I have no doubt.

I think I'm trying to have no expectations this month, almost JSing, but probably more SWI, I suppose!

I know first month jackpot is very unlikely...loads of factors against too.

Part of me also thinks that nearer to / after the wedding would be better timing! But do really want it now too.

I'm on folic acid, and have been since October, and just started on zinc. I think H2B is on the zinc too, but I'm not forcing the issue (got to tackle his drinking - 2 or 3 cans a night, so too much, but not hideous levels - if no joy after a few months, and that won't be fun!).

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 12:11

Queen, assists EWCM production, I think, and therefore assisting the swimmers to destination. :-)

winkle2 · 05/06/2012 12:15

Thanks for sharing your story! I might try epo next cycle as I have no visible EWCM. And opks and SMEP!

Hubby has promised me he's going to cut back drinking to once a week. I hope this helps.

QueenOfTheDrama · 05/06/2012 12:15

Thanks nicola I didn't know that. Might stick epo on my list for next month too then Smile

KickingUpQuestions · 05/06/2012 12:16

yep just increases cm. DH said there was loads more cm when i was on epo.

he is taking his wellman conception so am thrilled with that

winkle2 · 05/06/2012 12:18

Does anybody use the ovulation calculators you can find online? I've been given 3 different fertile periods by 3 different calculators!

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 12:24

Can you talk to my H2B about drinking, winkle? How much was your hubby drinking? I saw you'd argued about it, something I want to avoid.

KickingUpQuestions · 05/06/2012 12:33

winkle - i use them. i also put in longer cycle days and humpalot for the whole time

a couple cans won't make too much of a difference. as the one who used to drink a fair bit, i know that nagging is just annoying. he'll stop when he is ready.
i completely went off booze. i don't fancy it at all

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 12:38

I'm barely drinking...though did have a couple yesterday! I don't mind not drinking though.

I just want to give us the best chance to.conceive quickly.

Pinkie29 · 05/06/2012 12:43

Lmfao frolic acid!! Vitex often gets called Angus Castus but is the same thing, epo is supposed to be great for pmt too but if you don't know when you ov be careful the reason you stop after ov is it can cause tiny contractions in the uterus same for vitex on some sites

Oh I barely drink too! Once a month if that do won't really miss it dp the same

KickingUpQuestions · 05/06/2012 12:59

my DH doesn't drink at all.

but he cycles.

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 13:06

And squishing bits is bad, I assume?

KickingUpQuestions · 05/06/2012 13:24

apparently it isn't good for the swimmers

but it makes him happy so i can hardly complain.

he did ask if i wanted "the injection" before he left this morning. how romantic...

redstrawberry · 05/06/2012 13:30

Teeheee kicking at least it's not as unromantic as "ermmm soooo ...are we having sex tonite??" what a killer line that! Huh ...way to get your wife going.

KickingUpQuestions · 05/06/2012 13:34

he does that too!

i used to protest that it was planes humpage but now i am just happy he is so keen

some of the stories on here make me think how lucky i am that my DH is really so keen. he looks at babies and melts so i have no trouble getting him to DTD

KickingUpQuestions · 05/06/2012 13:34

planned not planes

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 13:39

I invite H2B to 'do' me...how romantic!

I thought he was already getting wary yesterday about performing to command, but he was more than willing today, so I must have been imagining it!

KickingUpQuestions · 05/06/2012 13:42

surely they understand that DTD is how one has a baby?

i am fortunate i think. in fact i think mine would do it more if he could

redstrawberry · 05/06/2012 13:43

Mines keen for planned humpages too - I'm the one who generally finds them tiring. My seduction lines are not great either - " I might be ovulating and I need your soldiers honey ;)"

It does the trick all the time.

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 13:47

He knows we need to DTD, but he hates the idea of it being planned / forced and losing its meaning / intimacy etc.

Fine line between the two!

Need to avoid performance anxiety too, ha ha!

Pinkie29 · 05/06/2012 13:57

Well spoke to my workmate she was great and v pleased for us Smile was nice to tell someone in the real world (no offence to you lovely ladies!)

She said with both her children she had lots of twinges and sharp pains in the early weeks and some bleeding/spotting and sadly had an mc but felt no pain until the end? she's advised to just try keep calm as what will be will be and you can't change anything

Ladies,

I am bowing out, AF got me Sad

Good luck to all of you and hope not to see you in the July thread!

Will keep checking to see who gets BFP.

KickingUpQuestions · 05/06/2012 14:16

nicola - i think that's why just giving in to the idea of eod means you can still make it intimate

i think as well the idea that you are doing it for a baby makes it more intimate.

and strangely enough, an erection is just as much on demand in response to a bodily reaction. so why can ovulation not be? especially since its the reverse for us and that's when we get all randy.
