hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

Hi Mel, it says on the box it may support your hormonal balance throughout the month. Havingkittens should be able to advise you more. Around ovulation time it was so noticeable. TMI but an awful lot of fluid. It could also be that it was the first time trying naturally, hence back to normal.

Mel3062 · 02/09/2012 20:28

I've had primrose oil capsules before but wasn't sure what the starflower did. Glad it worked for you x

jaffajiffy · 02/09/2012 21:02

abney that's great news! And it was ME (poss kittens too... not sure? ) on the evening primrose and starflower oil for the first time and got pg the first month of taking it! So we have a sample of two of us now! I completely noticed more, ahem, 'moisture' down there!

You are a wise woman to wait for a scan and not knicker check.

Ah, that's made my evening Grin

duggs1976 · 02/09/2012 22:11

Fab news abney ( note to self to rush out to buy starflower and evening primrose oil x

Havingkittens · 02/09/2012 22:38

Congratulations abney! Yes, it must've been jaffa with the wise words about evening primrose and starflower. I know that people do take it to increase CM but I hadn't been. Not really sure why not though seeing as I've not been very abundant in that department for several years. Anyway, great that it worked for you. Like you, I am not obsessively knicker checking either, although I have already had one scan.

There are quite good at getting you in asap for intralipids as they know you have to act fairly quickly after a BFP so fingers crossed you'll get an appointment on Monday.

Arianrhod · 03/09/2012 10:36

abney said it in the other thread but so pleased for you!! Did you say you're on evenin primrose oil and starflower?? But they are the same thing, as in, both provide GLA, starflower oil more than EPO? I know, I've been taking this as long as I can remember since they help with AF side effects and I used to get really bad AFs years ago. Still taking 1000mg starflower oil daily to this day, stop if I ever get a BFP of course.

The ILs NLC can usually fit you in the next day, they're very good like that.

Chasinrainbows · 03/09/2012 12:26

Hi jaffa af turned up on 17 dpo ,The day after I got a v faint line ..... Gutted. I didn't expect It to work first cycle but my normal luteal phase is 10-12 days so when af never showed I thought maybe we'd done it. starting back on the letrozole today.

congrats Abney that's great news :)

Abney · 03/09/2012 16:31

Hi all. Thank you for your kind words. Having the intralipids tomorrow which is good. Ari I bought the Seven Seas make from boots and it has both of them in it. I guess I will stop taking them now.

Havingkittens · 03/09/2012 17:36

What time are you in tomorrow abney? I am having mine in the morning, all being well after my 8.45 scan.

Sorry AF got you rainbows Sad. So annoying after getting your hopes up with a feint line. Good luck for next month.

Abney · 03/09/2012 17:58

Havingkittens mine is at 1245. Those scans are terrifying. I said I did not want any early ones but Louise said that I should book one for about 7 weeks due to the medication that I am on. I so hope everything goes alright for you tomorrow and you pass another hurdle. how may weeks days should you be?

jaffajiffy · 03/09/2012 18:02

Ooh two scans tomorrow! Fingers crossed for you both.

rainbows so so sorry re. AF. Boo!

Abney · 03/09/2012 18:18

Hi jaffa I am only having intralipids as I am only 4 weeks tomorrow. Then i am waiting 3 weeks for scan if nothing else happens first.

Havingkittens · 03/09/2012 19:14

That's a shame, I think I'll have gone by the time you turn up. I will be 8+3 tomorrow. I had my first scan at 6+5 at St Helier. Yes, pretty scary but also sort of reassuring. Mind you, my first mc where I started bleeding at 10-11 weeks stopped developing at 8.5weeks so I know there are still no guarantees. But then there's also the TLC school of thought where they think that regular positive scans help release hormones (or something) to give the pregnancy a better chance.

The one good thing about SO is that it's desensitized me a bit to looking at scans. I never used to be able to look at the screen, but it's a bit easier now. For now.... Not quite sure it'll be so easy if I make it as far as the Nuchal.

Pebbles73 · 03/09/2012 22:05

mel my lining is normally around 7 to 7.5mm but when I had progynova for ivf (they give it to you automatically with a frozen cycle) it was around 10mm so I am sure it will sort things out for you.

Fantastic news Abney I bet you couldn't believe it, wishing you lots of luck and I will be rushing out to get some starflower oil. (smile)

Rainbows so sorry to hear your af turned up and good luck for the next cycle.

I have follicle scan on Wednesday, not expecting as many follicles this month as not felt as much going on.

Mel3062 · 04/09/2012 02:55

Good luck with the scan ladies.
Thanks pebbles good luck for the follicles.
What does the starflower capsules do? Just increase cm like primrose does? I'm trying royal jelly for my eggs but I've got the proper stuff to put in smoothies but wish I'd just got capsules!! X

jaffajiffy · 04/09/2012 03:12

Hi mel we are both up! It's the pred, isn't it!?

I took starflower and evening primrose to regulate my hormones (I'm a bit volatile on all these drugs) and then noticed a lot more moisture. I then read that it can assist by creating more cervical mucus and got pg the first month I used it. The doc said it 'doesn't do anything' but if I wanted to it was fine to use alongside the drugs, even after being pg, but I'm not on it anymore.

Right, need to sleep!

Havingkittens · 04/09/2012 11:34

Scan was good. Strong heartbeat and measuring spot on for 8+3. Now just having my intralipids.

duggs1976 · 04/09/2012 12:16

Good news kittensGrin

Mel3062 · 04/09/2012 18:58

Aw lovely news. Yes I think it's the pred, back to school nerves and job list whirling in my head and hubby out at 1.30 doesn't help!! X

Pebbles73 · 05/09/2012 18:27

Well three good size follies for me (so tired today forgot to ask what size!!) and one that was no good as too big. Mr S was happy withst and my lining and the nurse did my ovitrelle injection while I was there. ''intercourse" tomorrow and Friday, asked if should have a run up before hand and he said not necessary unless you just want to have sex. SmileThis is my fourth cycle and he said most likely to work between four and six so we will see.
Anybody due to test soon? I seem to be out of sync with everybody!

Mel3062 · 05/09/2012 18:40

Fantastic hun busy times ahead!! Still have hope then cycle 4 for me and got progy nova prescription today. My fertility spell ring broke so trying to keep positive :( x
