TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Kicking you made me laugh ..... :o

Kittenkatzen · 24/05/2012 09:53

sounds promising pinkie....don't think it would be unreasonable for you to be a teeny bit hopeful this month.....with an overtone of sensibleness of course :o

KickingUpQuestions · 24/05/2012 10:01

Fingers crossed Pinkie. You would have caught it if you just humped like bunnies as well.

We've been good at DTD - tonight is another one :D

OOOOH I read that statistically, a couple DTD 104 time before they conceive

Kittenkatzen · 24/05/2012 10:10

104 times? I have to tell DH he needs to up his game.....

KickingUpQuestions · 24/05/2012 10:13

I know!! I mean - I wish they told us that first. We could start a counter

Popinda · 24/05/2012 10:17

Only 96 times to go! Lol Grin

Pinkie29 · 24/05/2012 10:28

104?! Christ! Need to up our game!! We weren't at it like rabbits sadly Hmm we dtd 4 days before ov but cause I assumed I wouldn't ov until around day 28 I didn't do the winkle or anything, day before ov we dtd but I had a meltdown and had to stop then day I got my positive ov we dtd with conceive plus winkled then put an instead cup in and erm winkled for another forth minutes or so, too scared to get hopeful but have said to dp not too fussed this month as just glad I now hopefully have a normal cycle length thanks to vitex!

KickingUpQuestions · 24/05/2012 10:30

I think it draws that parallel to "humping like rabbits" will do it.

At our current humpage pace, we should likely fall pregnant in 9 - 10 months.

That's this month or next month Grin

QueenOfTheDrama · 24/05/2012 12:59

104 times?! Noooo!! It'll take forever! Although I have now finished my stupid late shifts so plan on dtd as much as poss for the next week at least - DH will be delighted Grin

NicolaHazel · 24/05/2012 13:11

My H2B will be over the moon at this! Now I just have to find the energy :-)

QueenOfTheDrama · 24/05/2012 13:15

Me too nicola - work has been so busy this week, I'm knackered!! HAVE to dtd tonight though!

NicolaHazel · 24/05/2012 13:18

Sure we will cope. Just!!

Saturday for me now...so excited (about a baby, not DTD generally!).

QueenOfTheDrama · 24/05/2012 13:28

haha nicola my DH also thinks that I'm genuinely excited about getting to dtd more than usual Hmm

Obviously its nice but the thought we could be making a baby is always in the back of my mind Grin

NicolaHazel · 24/05/2012 13:39

:-)

Funny, isn't it? Bless them!

KickingUpQuestions · 24/05/2012 14:05

I just had an image of a sperm bubble exploding out in the atmosphere over the UK.

We're DTD tonight too!

Pinkie29 · 24/05/2012 14:14

Before ttc we dtd on average 3 times a week do nothing's really changed but now it's swi it seems harder to make the effort and find the time? Plus dp works most weekends 10/12hr shifts do I feel lime a sex pest at times Grin

KickingUpQuestions · 24/05/2012 14:16

We're active. I think we go through like...7 days where we can just go at it once or twice a day but then we stop the rest of the month...

QueenOfTheDrama · 24/05/2012 14:20

We're the same, when we weren't ttc we used to go through spells where we'd be at it constantly then other times we could go quite a while in between. Its definitely difficult to find the time to make sure we're dtd regularly to make sure we have the best chance plus all romance has definitely gone out of the window Grin

KickingUpQuestions · 24/05/2012 14:26

I think we are so concerned that we're doing it for a baby. But realistically speaking, we doing it just as we would normally. But we want something out of it as well.

I think we just need to remember that we love them regardless and we are expressing our love in the best way. Because instead of thinking of it mechanically, think of it like not only are you DTD but you're doing it knowing that you may produce a baby. The ultimate expression of love for each other.

I think if you think of it like that, it makes it exciting. I love DTD - no matter how much we plan for it and plot it and put an "x" over the day. It's still that time that I get to spend with my DH. And we go to bed earlier and we get to spend time together.

It's awesome :D

Kittenkatzen · 24/05/2012 15:36

kicking your image of a giant sperm bubble exploding just put me right off my lunch....thanks for that :o

We also go through phases of being more/less active. Since we've only very recently decided to TTC I've been trying really hard to keep things natural so as not to freak DH out by jumping him every 5 mins. Unfortunately through one thing and another that has meant it's been almost a week since we dtd and I'm getting to the point where I want to jump him anyway, but now I'm worried he'll think I'm just after a baby! Confused

Sigh.

KickingUpQuestions · 24/05/2012 15:44

He'll love it. Just jump him. Every now and then (when the house is tidy and the dishes are done and the dish washer is emptied), I tell him how much I love him and appreciate them. That gets 'em going.

He won't think that you only want him for the baby.

And if he does, tell him he needs to up that sex-drive a bit if that's what he thinks! Once a week wouldn't get a mouse pregnant

Kittenkatzen · 24/05/2012 16:15

haha i said something along those lines to him this morning actually when I commented about feeling bloated today and he said ooh maybe you're pregnant.....

Fine, so tonight I shall try the flattery approach and see if I can get me some Wink;o

NicolaHazel · 24/05/2012 16:32

I disappointed H2B on Tuesday as I'd propositioned him by text on the way home from work...and then ERTD showed up a day early. He was gutted!!

3 times a week for us too really...too tired during the working week, but try to do it once!

SallsD · 24/05/2012 16:50

Hi. Wondered if you had tried reflexology, a couple of my friends have with success. it could help deal with your stress levels if nothing else and hopefully more!!

If you want to be sure you find a properly qualified reflexologist I have used the Association of Reflexologist ? www.aor.org.uk ? they have a ?find a reflexologist? search so you can find someone near you that you can be sure is properly trained.
