curiousgeorgie · 01/04/2012 10:37

Had a search for a may BFP thread and couldn't see one (please correct me if there is!) so thought I'd start one..

curiousgeorgie - TTC #2 - Testing April 29th

Anyone with me?

OP posts:
wishfulthinking1 · 18/04/2012 18:19

Great attitude winkle!!

Morecoffee- that does sound peculiar- what are your cycles usually like?

winkle2 · 18/04/2012 19:39

Tedmundo - the not drinking or weeing for 4 hours is torture! So glad i don't have to do that again this month and can go to the gym from tomorrow!

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/04/2012 21:08

@Winkle - Hmm that CP stuff certainly sounds like it's doing the job, hopefully you won't need to use drain unblocker afterwards lol V glad you're feeling positive this month, need some good, positive, BFP vibes going on on this thread to inspire us all!

Had a pretty argh day in work today, i work with difficult to engage teenagers and it's not exactly the easiest job but today was particularly crazy and i'm feeling completely drained and wiped out tonight (so feelin a bit like u @tedmundo!). not really in the best of moods for dtd but going to put best foot forward or whatever the right metaphor might be. CD15 and judging by lack of EWCM don't think i've OV yet anyway, but prob best to get some more swimmers in there anyway in case tomorrow ends up being OV day...

Hope everyone's doing well!

winkle2 · 18/04/2012 21:26

Lol @ drain unblocker!

Oh god when you've had a trying day and then have to get yourself in the mood to dtd!!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 18/04/2012 23:58

Sorry, I haven't updated my ishoos on this thread yet after joining at the beginning then sticking on the April thread. I have always had weird cycles and break through bleeding. Cause unknown :( had a gazillion scans and tests and all always seems normal. Conceived dc1 and 2 very quick with no probs. This time taking 16 months. Got a referral to fertility clinic being 'processed' .

Any how, winkle I am interested in your up the rue rue conceive plus! Mine is just in a squeezy tube to apply to anything externally Blush . Saw some in pre loaded applicators, is this what you have? How many in a pack? That's amazing that everything stayed in for, er, so long Grin how long did you do the winkle for after?!

winkle2 · 19/04/2012 08:47

I brought a 3 pack tester so each tube is 1 use. Got them from amazon by accident... Accidentally ordered them whilst drunk oops.

Squirt in 10 mins before dtd, dtd then do the winkle for 20-30 mins afterwards :)

This better bloody work this month, I've put in so much effort!

Sticklebricksuk · 19/04/2012 11:03

Hi everyone, just checking in on everyone's progress when I clearly should be working It's quite nice and reassuring for me to see that there are others out there for whom it's not so easy as just looking at their OH and are getting all confused with their weird cycles and confusing bodies!
Well I'm trying temping this month for the first time and it's gone up a bit today, so I'm not sure if the tiny bit of brown spotting I had a couple of days ago was connected to Ovulation. Still using OPKs but havent' had any positives, but had the darkest negative I've ever had a couple of days ago but was in a meeting for 6 million hours and hadn't had much fluid . Why can't we just peek inside and see what is going on rather than all this POAS and sticking a thermometer in mouths nonesense to try and figure it out?! Quick question for anyone temping - what are your rough below OV and after temp levels? Think I might be a lizard or some other cold blooded thing as my lowest temps are like 35.7 degC. This morning was 36.41. But yesterday was 36.25 and the day before was 36.19, then 36.10 before that. Is it normal to get a steady rise? Hmmm.

Well some testing dates are getting closer - good luck to all of us!

RIBS · 19/04/2012 11:22

Morning ladies,

stickle im the same as you, but i work on farenheit. Im chart doesnt go below 97 and I get 96.4's which is your 35.7. I tend to be 97.1, which is 36.1. But im very up and down. This is my 2nd month charting this year and on the clomid. Which I think make your temp fluctuate a bit anyway. But my 1st temp decrease and increase after AF was on cd8 or 9 and this month it was on day 4 so im hoping that I' ov earlier than 21 days as DP on a bloody stag weekend (4 friggin days!) right when i ov'd last month. GGgrrrrrrr!

We've cut back on the old vino on a night, im forcing the vits down DP, just in case. Im about to go & order some CP or lubey stuff and DTD EOD from now CD8. I dont think I can do anymore.

Good luck everyone. XX

winkle2 · 19/04/2012 12:20

RIBS same as me mate. This is what we're doing / have done this month:

Conceive plus
Grapefruit juice every day to help with EWCM
santagon mother to be tablets
wellman conception for hubs
cut drinking back to only once a week
DTD EOD
Pissing on OV sticks

I mean come on universe! give me a flipping baby!

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/04/2012 12:38

@winkle - hmm, never heard about that grapefruit juice thang before, i love grapefruit juice, might start giving that a try!

was out at mums&toddlers with DS today and this stupid well meaning but incorrect lady who helps out at the group asked me if I was pregnant again. Now, I haven't lost all the weight from being preg with DS but I comfortably fit into a 12 Angry

That being said, last pregnancy did some serious wrecking of my core muscles and I know my posture isn't great and my stomach is hardly washboard, so I think it was just an unfortunate combination of slouching and the dress i'm wearing today which kind of flares out a bit cos it's A-line. But it was a bit argghhh, no you stupid woman, i'm not pregnant again, tho i would like to be, i had a terrible and quite traumatic day in work yesterday and you just CALLED ME FAT!! hormones!!! Of course i didn't say any of that but Biscuit to her!

Also DS discovered how to climb out of his cot last night and then would not absolutely no way would he go to bed or stay in his cot for hours last night so finally collapsed in front of last 15 mins of Apprentice with a small glass of Wine and then sleeeeep for me. No DTD last night, so back on tonight!!

Come on universe, it's baby week!!!

toobreathless · 19/04/2012 12:59

Winkle: have you tried acupuncture? Not sure if there is any 'evidence' & probably just a coincidence but I have met a few women professionally who had been TTC for what I suspect was a lot longer than you & conceived very quickly with accupuncture. Hope I haven't spoken out of turn.

Still no sign of a cycle of any kind here & now over three weeks since implant came out. Has anybody else had an implant out? just wondering how long it has taken other people for periods to return.

LittleMiss: Shock at the stupid women at toddler group. I have similar stomach issues & the moment I get a BFP will look pregnant as I will stop sucking it in!

RIBS · 19/04/2012 13:26

ooh winkle i didnt know about grapefruit juice either. Not keen on it tho. I assume we're drinking it rather than, ahem using it internally??? You can never be too sure on these threads!

I think im getting a bit of ov pain already, so il POOS (peeing on ov stick) (- taking a min just to laugh at that!!!) Grin Saturday and hope for the best.

littlemiss What a nightmare, but in the terrible ladys defence, I saw an old schooldfriend at a wedding doo and asked her when she was due. She said the baby was now 6 months old!!! Blush I wanted the ground to open. And I tried to explain, which made it worse. I wasnt being a cow, I knew id seen her at some point (i thought recently) with a little baby bump and she was stood there with a floaty dress on. It would appear id seen her nearly a year ago.... Needless to say, I left shortly after!

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/04/2012 14:19

@RIBS - Ack, hadn't even thought about squirting it...up there! Guessing that might sting? Try it in a seabreeze cocktail, quick - before you OV and you have to leave the vodka out lol (and also lol at POOS!)

Yeah I know the terrible woman wasn't trying to be a bitch and I can understand why slouching with a dip in your back and this particular dress might have made her think that. But still....rage!!!

breathless - Yep, the second I get preg I will have a bump lol I've just applied for a new job, though, and if I get an interview it'll be in 3 or 4 weeks so hopefully if i do get a BFP in a couple of weeks i won't be showing. Hopefully! I know they're not supposed to discriminate against you for being preg but with the amount of competition for jobs at the minute....

winkle2 · 19/04/2012 15:55

Littlemisssnowshine I read about it on another forum. Oopsie re woman who thought you were preg and even tougher when you want to be!

toobreathless you haven't spoken out of turn :) At the mo just enjoying the sex and if nothing in a few months then will crank it up to the next level and consider acupuncture, etc. Lucky for me, hubs' mate is an acupuncturist :)

RIBS I'm drinking it although perhaps I should be squirting it up my foofoo! Who knows?!

I've also read kiwi fruits are good for implantation and goji berries and brazil nuts are good for us and our OH's! Although I have to take a step back and remind myself if I'm not having enough sex none of these things are going to work!

toobreathless · 19/04/2012 19:09

Winkle2: very handy with the acupuncturist! But of course, you won't need it.
I will admit to having no idea what a goji berry is. I have read that marshmallows & smarties are said to have a positive effect which is handy as I have spent the afternoon making 'top hats' (marshmellows dipped in chocolate with a smartie on top) for DDs first birthday party & have eaten far too many Grin

DH off to work away Monday to Friday in three weeks time. Sigh! That's going to make TTC that little bit harder. Hopefully we will be together again from January.

This may be TMI (sorry!) I have tender breasts & zero mucus. Is this a sign of impending AF? It is almost two years since I had a period & can't remember what it feels like.

Sticklebricksuk · 19/04/2012 21:57
winkle2 · 19/04/2012 23:14

Literally FORCED ourselves to DTD tonight! Roll on rest day tomorrow!!

CraftyGirly · 20/04/2012 00:18

Marshmallows and smarties!!? why didn't I know this before, here I am trying to eat all healthily too! lol

Littlemiss how unthoughtful of the lady who thought you were pg. I am a size 8 and have been asked if I am pg several times after eating a rather large meal, what is it with some people!! I think it bothers me more now I am TTC though for some reason! I never ask people even if I think they might be, (unless its blooming obvious and they look like they're about to drop!) - I don't want to be wrong and offend them!

currently CD11 (or actually just clicked onto CD12), been POOS (borrowed from RIBS :o) since CD9 but no positives yet. just as well really as DH is away tonight! hoping to get a + over the weekend when he's back, although last month I didn't get a + till CD16 which would be Tuesday, but that was first month off pill so I don't know if that's my 'normal' OV day...I too would love to just 'look inside' and see what's going on, would take a lot of the guesswork out! I'm very very impatient and if something doesn't work the way I expect it to I get extremely frustrated!

CraftyGirly · 20/04/2012 00:20

winkle nice to see that you are able to Force your OH to DTD! :o
even if it's necessary and I might be OV, if my DH is tired he takes a lot of convincing! lol

winkle2 · 20/04/2012 09:12

Seriously it was over in minutes! It was perfunctory! We've DTD 7 times in 11 days - bored now!

StephieFranks · 20/04/2012 10:38

Crafty I'm so totally the same flaming impatient and i get very frustrated!!!
I've only had 1 AF since coming off mini pill so lots of guesswork too! Been POAS since cycle day 9 (just in case) today is CD 20 not + yet!! Think i have long cycle but also wondering if i work properly! I'm convinced i don't (even though this is only 1st month ttc)

Would just like to know i OV more than anything........

Sticklebricksuk · 20/04/2012 12:14

Stephie I'm on my 5th cycle off the pill TTC #1 and was convinced I wasn't ovulating either. I had tried OPKs without much success (always seem to get a negative, although the negative did get a bit darker some days but was still a negative according to the instructions) and was really beginning to panic that I'm not Ovulating and even had a little cry to my best mates about it. However this month I've started temping and keeping a chart, and I can't tell you how much better I feel. There is a definate shift in temps which has stayed up for 4 days now, and I know that's not enough to get a definate pattern, but it's showing me already that I've more than likely ovulated when I compare it to some sample charts you can google off the internet (fertility friend and the like). For me a total control freak it is just helping me do something proactive and I'm delighted to see the shift. For the sake of shoving a £4.99 off amazon thermometer in your mouth as soon as you wake up the peace of mind it has given me is worth much more. I've gone from feeling like I'm broken to feeling like it'll just take a bit of time that's all. I'd really recommend it to you.

scubastevie · 20/04/2012 12:44

Hi Everyone :)

This is my first ever post on mumsnet :o been lurking for a long time.

Me and dh trying to conceive #1. This is our first cycle try, been off the pill for 5 months in preparation, taking the ol' folic acid, no drinking etc. regular 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14 usually. Have irrational fear it will take years, or never, for some reason, simply because I want it so bad I suppose!

Anyway, fingers crossed for everyone here. Here's hoping for May :o

can't copy n paste as on phone would someone add me in please?!

CraftyGirly - one time my OH tried to say he was tired and I told him to man up! Oops prob not the best thing to say to try and get him into bed! I told him if he puts the effort in now he can have 9 months off!

StephieFranks - the first time I used OV sticks I never got a positive. Switched to Clearblue digis and have got my smiley the past 3 months. Much easier than trying to interpret lines. I get mine from ebay or amazon, around a tenner for 7 sticks.
