Had a search for a may BFP thread and couldn't see one (please correct me if there is!) so thought I'd start one..

curiousgeorgie - TTC #2 - Testing April 29th

Anyone with me?

Thanks all. AF is due tomorrow if I go by average cycle and Friday if I go by longest cycle! Have a feeling it's coming tomorrow as got mild cramps :(

tedmundo · 01/05/2012 18:53

It's day 7 in the symptom spotting house

mild cramps
exhaustion

[neurotic]

RightUpMyRue · 01/05/2012 19:47

Evening all Smile

morecoffee we're going away at the beginning of June, to Majorca, can't wait for some sun on my face.

Best to start temping on CD1 but starting now will be fine as long as you record your chart properly by putting your temps on the right cycle days.

Geeklette and Hai stay positive, you will get PG sooner or later Smile

winkle, you know that until AF arrives you're still in with a chance, don't be Sad yet!

RIBS I do exactly the same thing with the neurofen syringe! Grin

LittleMiss, hope your back is better soon, no good not being able to DTD!

wishful just because you don't see any EWCM doesn't mean there isn't any there, it could be hiding right up near your cervix. Not everyone does ovulate every cycle but a lack of obvious EWCM doesn't mean you're not OVing. Do you chart your temps? Temping is the nest way to discover if you're OVing every cycle.

Fingers crossed Suzy. Radioactive sperm sounds a bit worrying though! Eek Shock

jaqueline, you can admit anything you want to us and we won't judge you much Smile

ted I'm putting AF up for eviction from the bit symptom spotting house, how bout you?

Well, I'm on approximately CD 14 here and it's DTD night tonight. It's also Mayday which is huge Pagan fertility festival. So I'm feeling positive. I'm armed with my slippy lube and a winning smile Grin

RIBS · 01/05/2012 20:28

Right up. So glad its not just me improvising in the medicine cupboard! U go girl. Got ur good lucky pants on?

Wow Suzy that sounds like serious stuff, I hope he's ok.

I had no idea about ewcm or any cm come 2 that until recently. I didn't realise it changed or anything. What goes on up there is amazing downright bizarre when it works!

LittleMissSnowShine · 01/05/2012 20:38

@Rue - Yes, I was talking about the May Day / Beltane fertility festival earlier. Tradition in Ireland to light fires and go riding round the rooms on your broom (!!) so if anyone fancies it??

@wishful - yes, it is possible to have a cycle w/o ovulating and it's not exactly uncommon, particularly with women who find that it's taking a while for them to get pg. However, a lack of EWCM doesn't necessarily mean you're not OV, it's just one possible sign of OV, there's others too, like a change in temp etc. So I wouldn't panic about it, but if you start charting and you don't notice a change in temp then I'd maybe see your GP and they can do a 21-day blood test to check whether you're OV

@ted - Even tho I'm on CD23 I'm only on day 3 or 4 DPO so not quite symptom spotting yet. But even if I was...nothing to report....yet! Hope yours indicate something's cooking in there tho??!

@Suzy - Wait a few days and keep fx. I read somewhere (probably me beloved Zita West book that I've been reciting from!) that radiation treatment can sometimes affect sperm count for as long as 2 years after treatment, so if your DP is currently receiving radiation or just finished his treatment recently, it mightn't be a bad idea for him to get his count checked? Just so you know what's going on down there...

@jacqueline - thatta girl, keep dtd, can't hurt (much!) Grin

Good luck to those intrepid ladies poas tomorrow morning, i'll check back in with u then!!

DogEared · 01/05/2012 20:48

I think I know, but what is DTD?

suzydelarosa · 01/05/2012 20:50

Thanks LittleMiss and RIBS... DP getting treatment for prostrate cancer :( but we're trying to be positive and it's spurring us on to try to get 2nd baby! Although he 'banked' his sperm, he's convinced his sperm is okay as the nurses put a lot of protective gear over his man bits before the radiation zapping! Me, not so sure (especially given what I've read) but the bad sperm may be the last straw for him and his manhood!! anyway if it doesn't work this time it's sperm check and then possibly IVF/IUI for me - good times!!!

Sometimes when it rains, it pours and all that!

suzydelarosa · 01/05/2012 20:51

Sorry to hijack this thread into an email about cancer... ! pregnancy much much more exciting. POASing provides excellent distraction!

suzydelarosa · 01/05/2012 20:52

Dogeared - DTD = 'Doing the Deed'....:0

StephieFranks · 01/05/2012 20:52

Well seing as AF got me last week - can someone add a Brew next to my name...... Sad I might be out of the running - but i'm still waiting to see who is going to the first BFP for May!!!! Smile

DogEared · 01/05/2012 20:57

Thanks suzy :)
Hope your DH gets better soon. You're wonderful and brave and I hope you get upduffed soon!

jaquelinehyde · 01/05/2012 21:00

Suzy don't apologise what you're going through is part of your TTC journey and so you need to talk/vent about it. Good luck for this month, keep DTD and I will keep my fx for you.

Stephie Sad sorry that AF got you this month.

OpenMindedSceptic · 01/05/2012 21:07

rue I didn't know about mayday being a Pagan fertility festival! I will use this to inspire my somewhat tired DH Grin

hai and stephie sorry to here that AF got you too.

OpenMindedSceptic · 01/05/2012 21:07

hear even

RightUpMyRue · 01/05/2012 21:48

Lucky pants off more like, RIBS! Wahey Grin

CraftyGirly · 01/05/2012 22:01

sorry to hear about AF getting you hai and stephie

TMI alert - I might be going slightly crazy but I had a very small amount of spotting earlier, in a pink discarge streaked with red, but nothing since. could this be implantation? I'm about 8dpo by my reckoning. Still have more or less constant heartburn too. would it be too early to test, AF not due till Monday? I dont want to waste money on a test for it to bee too early to show anyway! argh I am so imptatient!!

winkle2 · 01/05/2012 22:59

Ooh crafty that does sound like implantation! Fingers crossed!

Re EWCM I don't get any either...

jaquelinehyde · 02/05/2012 10:09

Oooh Crafty that sounds promising but don't test yet, you're still 4-5 days away from AF due date so try and hold out until the weekend at least.

We didn't DTD last night as I was shattered and fell asleep Blush

Was anyone due to POAS today?

tedmundo · 02/05/2012 11:35

craftygirl that sounds pretty good to me. Perfect timing for it to be implantation bleeding. I am also 8 dpo and not planning to test til Tuesday as I oved a day later than I thought I would. Maybe I could do a sneaky test on Monday though... But prob best to wait until Tuesday else the bfn may make me sad!

suzy you must not feel like only the shagging part of our Bfp mission can be discussed. I have banged on a bit about the miscarriage as it is an inevitable facet of this journey for me. discuss all you like .. We are here to listen, help or just sympathise! I just hope your dp is getting well and ready to be a wonderful father to the baby that comes along!

no symptoms today so far. Maybe they have been evicted!

winkle2 · 02/05/2012 12:10

I was supposed to test today but as I have had 2 BFN's I'm postponing testing to Saturday. That will mean I'm OFFICIALLY late if I go by my longest cycle.

Ted, winkle, jac I'll wait till Monday to test even tho it's killing me!! Trying not to get my hopes up too much!

jaquelinehyde · 02/05/2012 13:05

Winkle I agree that it is a good idea to try and hold out now until you are officially late, everything crossed for you.

God I feel crappy today but I'm trying to build up the energy to DTD this afternoon with DH.

I have been so, so busy over the past week with lists coming out of my ears trying to arrange a huge relocation from the Shetland Isles down to South East England and then trying to shag as much as possible in between has just wiped me out I'm afaid.

All my body wants me to do is sit down and watch some crappy TV (cheaters that I recorded last night - my dirty little secret of tv viewing) but I have a dissertation lit review to mark and feedback on and some shagging to do and all 3 dc's will be back at 3pm.

On the upside dh is making me a bacon sandwich for lunch Smile

winkle2 · 02/05/2012 13:55

I had a quick flick through a book about TTC in Waterstones. I was wondering ? is anyone following the advice that they suggest such as no caffeine, limit red meat, cut out alcohol (both you and OH) and no smoking?

tedmundo · 02/05/2012 14:10

Christ no, winkle. Scoff red meat and drink a glass of wine most nights. I have never smoked but don't do much exercise so not super healthy really. I am an ok weight and so far .. TOuch wood .. Been able to conceive after 1 to 2 months.

the last preg did not stick. But the midwife promised me faithfully it was likely to be a genetic problem and nothing I had done. I see no reason not to believe her so have not changed my lifestyle at all. Except the folic each day.

If next week dashes my hopes, I may well cut down on wine but def not cut it out. Coz then I will be not pregnant AND losing something I enjoy.

The way i see it, my dear friend worked at Handsworh prison for years and saw women in there having babies with full on addictions so my modest bottle a week cannot be doing that much harm.

jaquelinehyde · 02/05/2012 14:23

I've decided to have some strawberry vodka tonight! I feel a bit naughty doing it though as I am normally tee total.

I have been eating red meat as usual (but I'm normally a chicken girl) and don't smoke but I am very overweight so I suppose I'm somewhere in the middle health wise. I could easily cut out red meat and not worry and never touch a drop of alcohol again, also I lost another two and a half punds this week so as my ttc journey goes on I will get healthier and healthier I'm sure.
