Am feeling better and seeing my GP on Friday. Thank you.

hopefulgum · 22/03/2012 09:49

Italian - so sorry to hear you aren't well. Hopefully your GP will get to the bottom of it.

I saw my acupuncturist today, which was lovely.I'm feeling very relaxed and happy tonight. Can't be bothered with cooking so it's fish fingers and potato wedges for the kids. I might have some nicer fish, but not much more. My DH is in the city for a few days, so it's going to be very easy going.

My TCM lady also said I looked very 'glowing" and her first thought was that I am pregnant! I do hope she's right. I have a good feeling this time, and don't want to be disappointed in a few days. However, I know how difficult this journey is, so I will be open-minded and philosophical about all this...

I hope everyone else is feeling okay.

There's been so much illness at work.Tonnes of my colleagues are off work. I plan to stay ruggedly healthy!Smile

Italiangreyhound · 22/03/2012 17:32

Hi all how are you?

Nurses say I need to get a replacement tablet for the one I have come off.

I?m looking forward to time off work. I?m only doing about 3.5 hours today and 3.5 hours tomorrow then off for two weeks.

Hugs to all.

PS Getting my order in for tomorrow early, Piella, tiramisu and cardamom coffee, please Diege!

hopefulgum · 22/03/2012 22:32

I'm going to get in early too, Deige. This week I'd like crispy skin Tasmania salmon with potato rosti and a big green salad. Then I'll have a really indulgent dessert...hmm..let's see, how about a posh triffle? Yum.

I'm sleep deprived again this morning. Have been waking super early for the last few days and can't really get back to sleep. It could be because I'm over thinking everything, but I do get that early morning insomnia in early pregnancy, so I'm hopeful. I also had a dream (which is obviously my subconscious working overtime) that I'm pregnant and my husband was able to see into the future and told me,"don't worry, this one will be born fine, and it's a girl". It was a lovely dream.

Italian - enjoy your time off - rest and look after yourself. Could you have a nice massage, facial or manicure? Just something to help you relax. And I hope that replacement tablet helps.

How's everyone else?

It's Friday here. It's our day for the pool. DS loves it. My friend asked me to join her at a cafe for a cuppa, but I'm also meeting my parents at the same cafe for lunch, and I think 2 or 3 hours in a cafe will be too long for DS. I'd love to catch up with that friend, but I just know my 3 year old won't be still for that long and will start to empty the sugar bowl, sing loudly and disturb other patrons (he did that last week - some of the older men were scowling) or steal all the straws to make pictures on the table. They have a toy corner, but that only holds his attention for about 30 minutes. Not complaining - I feel so lucky to have my wee boy.I guess I'll have to catch her another day.

Enjoy your day.Smile

Diege · 23/03/2012 21:03

Right, pre-orders ready! Good choices all round Grin I'm ordering smoked salmon starter, stir-fried tofu with blackbean sauce, and lemon merangue (sp?) for pud.
Hope you're ok Italian - quite worrying to hear about your health problems. Do you have another scan next week?
Gum it's all sounding very good, in lots of levels! What cd are you on?
Back at work on Monday - Smile and Sad.

marytheresa · 23/03/2012 21:37

Hi Lovely Ladies!

Quick update. Had '20' weeks scan today, although nearly 22 weeks. All is as good as it could be. I was praying all the time during the scan. The sonographer couldn't get a clear look at the heart, as the baby was lying on it's tummy. So I had to go for a walk and drink some water. She said there was nothing to worry about, but I couldn't help think otherwise. Born worrier. Came back, she got a very clear pic and heart looks as well as it could. I asked her if she could tell me the sex, but I added that she shouldn't feel under pressure, as I said sometimes it can be hard to tell. She laughed and said 'Oh it's a boy', I said 'OMG!' ( I had convinced myself I was having a girl). She then proceeded to point out the space between his legs and even from my untrained eye I could tell. She said 'He's not shy, is he?!'. Ifeel very blessed and I went to the hospital chapel afterwards to say a little prayer of thanks. Due date is still 25/7/12. As it is a boy and possibly will be near the 10lb mark, it will hopefully add to my case for a planned C-section.

Weather forecast in London set to be glorious for Easter weekend. So looking forward to getting out and about.

Italinan - sorry to hear about your health worries. I'm sure once the docs have it sussed you'll feel a lot better. Watching the App too. Love it. I also watch the after show on BBC2, which is hilarious. Never get tired of it. My hubby was calling the Irish girl -Jedi Jane in honour of the magnificent Jedi Jim from last year. Enjoy your annual leave.

Baby luck to all you great ladies.

Mary xx

hopefulgum · 23/03/2012 23:47

Mary that is wonderful news. I'm so glad your little boy looks great.I hope you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

Deige, things do seem to be looking good. Had the highest temp I've had in a while this morning. But that might also be because I took it half an hour later than usual.Boobs are sore, and unusually, they weren't really tender til now (whereas usually tender from O day) this time I had odd pains on and off in the first couple of days after O, and the tenderness has just started.Hmmm...Confused

So, I'm 7 DPO, which makes me CD 21. I'll start testing at 9DPO. I would have been happy to wait, but if I'm pregnant I want to know asap so I can phone my doc for a progesterone prescription. I'm taking my "welcome womb" herbs, which are supposed to act like progesterone and help prevent miscarriage, but I'd like to be reassured with the real thing if I need it.

I took DS to the pool, and then did end up catching up with my friend at the cafe, then my folks and my sister. DS behaved very well for a 3 year old, but I was exhausted by the end of it. He was looking very sleepy in the car on the way home, so I got him to sing etc to keep him awake, thinking he'd have a nice big afternoon nap. Well, Murphy's Law, he wouldn't have a nap and I dragged myself around all afternoon unable to do very much at all. It wasn't a successful afternoon! Angry

I still feel tired now...Another symptom?

Symptom spotting, who me? Hmm

Italiangreyhound · 24/03/2012 00:40

Hi ladies, hugs to all.

All best wishes Marytheresa hope all goes well. I did get a short massage a few days ago,. Sadly my probs are medical and won?t be fixed by pampering but pampering is ALWAYS welcome.

It looks like my heart problems with palpitations last year, have come back now I am off the tablets. I am a bit scared and fed up with my health. But doc says it should not affect treatment. I am also anaemic!

Dr did ask me a few times if I could be pregnant, I said no quite emphatically, then he asked again and I said I felt sure I was not then I remembered, I had been scanned that morning! So he yes, that was an answer he could believe!

All best wishes.

AngelGeorgie · 24/03/2012 10:30

Italian hope your palpations are sorted soon. Have you tried beta blockers? Xx
Gum fx xxx
Diege good luck Monday. Xxx I return in 2 weeks time. Can t believe how quick it's flown by??? Had our first nursery session today , 2 more then first day of leaving Phebs. Eek....HmmHmm
Hi all hope everyone is well. Xxx

lolfactor · 24/03/2012 10:40

Hope you have a lovely sunny and peaceful day today, Italian*.

Gum it all sounds exhausting. Glad you got to see everyone. Hope the days fly by until you can test Smile

Marytheresa remind me how you know the size of the baby. Is it through scans or previous births? Sorry if you've said before. I'm shifting daily between home birth, hospital birth, elective caesarean, although the consultant has said 'no' to the caeser. The ony reason I'd want it is if there was any doubt about the second stage of labour. I feel so strongly that this is my last chance and I'm terrified something will jeopardise it. He's said there is no research which suggests that being 46 is going to mean that my chances of something going wrong are increased so I'm wondering why I think they are. Did I read something?

MiaAlexandrasmummy · 24/03/2012 21:32

italian heart palpitations and anaemia, that is such a (literal) pain. What can be done to sort these out? But at least your doc says it won't impact your treatment, which I guess is something.

marytheresa love your show-off boy!! That particular male behaviour does begin early, doesn't it?

angel two weeks is ages... bet you have lots of lovely plans.

hopeful all sounds very encouraging for you.

diege is there any leftover lemon meringue pie in the cafe tonight? Fancy a slice, as I am sure you didn't eat it all...

Italiangreyhound · 24/03/2012 22:37

Hi Angelgeorgie I was on bettbalockers but felt very tired which is why I came off them! It's a bit muddled up!

Angelgeorgie Good luck with leaving Phebs at nursery. When I left DD in the beginning I cried and not her!

lol thanks for thinking of me, hugs to you.

MiaAlexandrasmummy thanks for your concern, any news on you?

Hugs to Diege, Hippy, Hopefulgum, Hairy and all.

Re my health, if anyone is interested - (me, me, me, I know) the doctor (the second one I've seen in a week) has said I've got anaemia/I am very anaemic so he is not surprised I've felt ill. There is no need to worry and in one sense I feel quite proud I have managed to carry on as normal while so anaemic. I have an Hb of 8.7, and anything under 10 makes you feel weak (and I have been told you get blood transfusions when you hit 8). I keep thinking they must have got my results mixed up with someone else's because I don't feel that ill! I am already feeling better having been on iron supplements for the past 24 hours. Clever old nurse who ordered the anaemia blood test, not the first doctor!

Please do pray for me (if you are a pray-er) at least this is obscuring our FET, which is scheduled for next week. I mean making me think about it less!

Hugs and Baby dust and chocolate boobs (as we say on the assisted conception thread) to all Biscuit Biscuit - speaking of which I got my baps burnt today by wearing an uncharacteristically low top!

10000fireflies · 24/03/2012 22:43

Evening all

Italian shooting up some more prayer arrows. Am asking for your prescription to be sorted and lining to become lovely and pillowy. Are you taking iron now for the anaemia? Floradix isn?t too bad. Maybe pick up some sun cream while you're getting it to avoid any further bap burnage!! Grin

Gum hope your instincts are right. Lucky you that Friday = pool day. Have another 5 weeks before our outdoor pool opens. We will probably be having unseasonably bad weather by then!!

Diege hope you?re enjoying your last weekend before you go back to work. Sounds like you have quite a good/nice/satisfying job though, so hopefully not too painful for you.

MaryTheresa congrats on the great 20 week scan. Hope everything continues to go well for you.

Angel OMG, can?t believe you are back to work in 2 weeks too! Wow! Time really does fly. Hope you are getting some of the lovely weather where you are. Looks set to continue into next week too.

Lol I believe size of baby is based on measuring, scans, genetics plus BMI and weight gain over pregnancy. They can be at least 10% out though, and I?ve come across plenty of examples where predictions were wrong. Are you basing your birth worries on what I?d said a while back? I was peed off very early on because I was told in no uncertain terms will be induced if reach week 40. This is policy of my hospital. They have a high percentage of oldies and they claim their research shows risks of going over 40 weeks at 40+ is too great not to induce, due to potential placenta failure. I am seeing them again next week and will be asking to see some of their data. Will let you know. Remember you told me I?d be begging to be induced if reach week 40???

I am knackered. Spent the day trailing round galleries with fellow students from my course. I think our average age is 31.5, and anyone would have thought we were a bunch of stroppy teenagers, what with no-shows, late arrivals, disappearing acts?. Still Picasso ex really interesting and was a lovely day to be out and about in town.

Hi MiaAlexandrasmummy and everyone else. Sweet dreams all. xx

AngelGeorgie · 25/03/2012 08:47

FF sounds like a really good policy your hospital have in place. Here, in the UK there Isn t the same in place & I hear more & more horror stories of ELSC due to going 10,14,16 days over the due date. I was 1 week past term when Georgie died & know a contributory factor was placenta detoriation.I wish I had been induced at 40 weeks . Obviously With Phebs I had an elective section at 37,3 as I wanted her as early as possible. If I was to get pg again I would never allow the hospital to let me go past 38 weeks. My consultant ( at work) is an obs & gynae consultant who worked abroad & said it only happens in the UK where women are left to go as long as possible, basically to save bringing them in earlier to save money. Hope you re well? Xx
Italian hopefully the anaemia will subside & you will feel better. During this last pg my HB dropped to 8 which is very liw for me (normally 12-13) & I felt fine apart from tiredness which I attributed to working & being heavily pg!!! I m not a prayer ( don t even know if I believe in god ) but wish you all the luck in the world next week.xxx
MiasAlexandrasmum have got some nice things lined up but need to wait for payday on Wed first!!! Totally skint.xx
Hi Lol hope you re well?
Good luck tomorrow Diege xxx
Hi Marythersa, Blackcatdancing,Gum and everyone else. Hope all are well? Xxxx
We re fine ... Just adoring my darling girl & relishing this time with her whilst ignoring all the politics I m hearing about at work!!!!
Love to all xxx

marytheresa · 25/03/2012 09:06

Hi lolfactor Hope all is well. My DS was 9lb 5, so I am kinda of thinking that this one will possibly be similar or a little bigger. The baby is 13 oz at moment which is within range for this time.

Italiangreyhound · 25/03/2012 15:02

Fireflies Thanks, my friend turned up with Spatone for me and said it was better!

angelgeorgie thank you for your kind words.

Hugs to all.

hopefulgum · 25/03/2012 23:53

Italian, I'm glad that you know what's going on,and I hope the iron helps with your anemia. It's amazing that you were still walking around with your levels so low. Is that what causes the palpatations,or is that something different? Will you be doing an embryo transfer this week?

BFN this morning, and yes, I know it is early days( 9 DPO), but I feel the hope slipping away. I think it is just so cruel that my body gives me all these mixed signals. I've been gagging on my toothbrush, feeling very tired and extremely irritable, sore boobs, a little nausea when I'm hungry, nice high temps...This gets me thinking, "Ooh, maybe this time..." It's just cruel!

Angel it's nice to hear from you. I can't believe you're going back to work soon, that time seems to have flown. I know what you mean about skint! The bills are piling up here, and payday can't come soon enough.

DS is really pushing my buttons this morning. If I'd got a BFP, I wouldn't mind at all, but in this mood, I'm not coping to well.Sad

hopefulgum · 25/03/2012 23:55

"too" well. I hate it when I spell words incorrectly...

shandybass · 26/03/2012 11:50

Hi all
Just a quick post to say hi I'm alive and baby kicking. I'm now 32 weeks and all is going well. I have 2 more days to when I start my leave, annual then maternity. Whoop whoop. I never thought I'd get here.
I'm glad to see all is going well with BB, lol and Ff partners in crime.

gum I just saw your post about testing. Keep the faith it's still early days. And you Italian you've had such a time of it.

jolls Congrats to you and diege and angel I can't believe you're going back to work. That's sobering for me as I'm just about to go off and can't imagine planning to go back, but the time will come and it'll be even more complicated than life is at present.

Cest la vie. The sun is shining for now.

Diege · 26/03/2012 19:12

Gum it really is too early to test, even if you've got a bfp at this stage in other pregnancies

Italiangreyhound · 26/03/2012 19:46

Sorry about your BFN Gum

Well the latest is the clinic are OK for us to continue but it is not ideal, my low hemoglobin and my raised thyroid level. I am just so pissed off, it has not been easy. If we cancel the cycle we get to pay about £500 in admin fees, I feel very cross because I did not know that I was supposed to be having my thyroid checked every 4 weeks! Also with me being so aneemic they think that is a problem but my GP thinks it is OK.

Don't really think we can afford to stop now and re-start and don't think I have the mental energy for it! DH and I will chat later. Seriously, ladies, it's not always this complicated!

hopefulgum · 26/03/2012 23:55

Oh, Italian, so sorry this is so hard. Would the anemia have improved with the iron? I thought it could sort it out rather quickly. How soon can the thyroid level be sorted? I can't believe they charge 500 pounds admin fees. That is so high!I'm sending up a prayer for you((HUGS))

Deige I know it's early to test Hmmbut I just want to know asap to get onto the progesterone. But I tested again this am, its bfn and my temperature has dropped quite a bit.Not feeling hopeful anymore. Just sick of the whole thing, and this is probably the end of the road for me. I so wanted to end with a babe in arms, but as Mick said,"You can't always get what you want".

I have a super busy week ahead, so at least there won't be time to sit around brooding.

Deige are you back to full-time? I know how hard it is to get everyone out the door, but I leave at 8 so I have a whole extra hour(and I don't have a small baby to organise).I feel for you.I hope you are feeling better today.

shandy, so nice to hear from you,and so glad all is going well.

TinaO99 · 27/03/2012 13:01

hello ladies, hope you are all well this morning?

Italian hope your anaemia gets better soon, lots of liver is in order I think Wink.

gum sorry about your bfn but as others have said it's very early yet, symptoms sound very encouraging though, I remember gagging on my toothbrush when i was pregnant so all is not lost!

just to update you all I had my second IUI yesterday and am now on the awful 2ww. I had a fantastic response in terms of follicles this time, i put it down to the acupuncture i've been having although my dh is sceptical! I had 3 large follicles (2 on one side and one on the other) along with some smaller ones. Smug dh had another 'gold standard' sample (queue spandau ballet 'gold' again) so with such a response if it doesn't happen now it never will!! Trying not to stress this time and the lovely weather is helping but not sure how I'll feel in another week or some if af arrives!

On the plus side I have a 2 week holiday in Colorado to look forward to 2 weeks on saturday hooray! Might take my mind off things for a bit (hopefully)

AngelGeorgie · 27/03/2012 18:05

Hi Shandy wow 32 weeks!!!! Lucky you starting mat leave Envy I can t believe how quick my 6 months has gone!!! Enjoy it xxxx
Diege well done xxxx nightmare; I m dreading the first few days we have to be out by 7:15-7;30 am however, there's only 3 of us!!! I have warned Ant he ll gave to be more organised & help in the mornings!!! At the moment he's always late & that's just sorting himself out!!!!
Tina good luck xxx
Hi all; hope you re all well, the weather is great really helping me to enjoy my last weeks of freedom!!!!
Love to all xxxx

hippychick66 · 27/03/2012 18:20

Just popping in to say hello to all my old muckers. Sorry for the poor buggers who are due back to work (boo hiss) and hooray for those about to start mat leave (whoop whoop).

Italian all the very best, my love. You know i'm not really one for prayers but i sure do hope that your fet works out for you. NO ONE deserves this more. you have given this your absolute all, matey. Big hippy hugs to you.

gum you naughty girl - testing at 9 day (tut tut). Wink Hoping those symptoms mean something good. Smile

Glad to hear all the snug babies who are already born are doing well and it seems the babies waiting to be born are all behaving too Grin

As for me - nothing to report. i am not even sure that i'm ovulating. my temps seem a bit erratic to be honest. i'm on the AC and DHEA and i'm planning to increase the dose when AF turns up. All seems a bit futile but no harm trying these things i guess. I am really getting into writing my book at the moment and suspect it will have to be my third baby Grin.

Much love to all XXX
