About time I start a thread! Pom poms still shaking, bumps growing, babies and toddlers talk a plenty, while the support, laughs, hand holds and weebling continues...

Yay neeks Grin here have some Thanks and Wine to celebrate

Loueytb3 · 07/03/2012 22:19

Hooray neeko that's fantastic news!!! Wine for you tonight

Barbie 4 suitcases, 4???? Where are you going to put all your shoes? Grin Don't envy you that job at all.

Waves to you all, have a sick Luke (croup), a baby who is teething and has a fungal infection and eczema (cream city here) and a husband who has buggered off to Madrid. Boo

I need to go to bed before I inevitably get woken up at some random hour. Will try and do a proper post tomorrow if I can get Luke off the cbeebies website...

4everhopeful · 08/03/2012 07:59

Fantastic news neeko! Grin What a huuuuuggggee relief for you! As buddha said you've obviously proved yourself invaluable!

Buddha don't beat yourself up over completely normal strong willed, defiant 2yr old behaviour! Its all about pushing boundaries and asserting independence and little personalitys, without the vocabulary or emotional development to do so, incredibly frustrating at times for the little sausages! Sounds like we are all experiencing it right now! If Summers having a grizzoggy strop strop (aka full blown meltdown) we just ignore it cos any type of interaction of either pacifying or telling off, seems to add fuel to the fire and it very quickly burns itself out, if she becomes hysterical we will pick her up to cuddle and calm her, and if its been something dangerous we say there and then, but then explain properly and firmly when she's calm..

Ugh tmi alert - Af from hell - just got up and it literally ran down my legs resulting in having to scrub the carpet.. Confused

Hi guys - been lurking from phone but not had opport for posting on PC. On phone just now as B is proper poorly and sleeping. Thought we'd made it through winter without any lurgy but it hit at 1am this morning. Least I'm not at work today.

On phone so excuse typos and hair trigger postings..

4ever. Hope AF has settled, are you taking iron tablets? I had mega heavy AF after having B but thankfully calmed down. Glad u had a fab birthday and can gear up to more swi. You're moving into Xmas baby time Smile

neeko. So sorry I haven't posted had it all stored for our meet up but that is FANTASTIC news that they have agreed your 3 Days! As for work/life admin ... We can discuss on 20th!

lbm. Had a Smile at your DS having a DS Grin. I love the school run too especially dry days when we all walk..

barbie. Infscol didn't work for B either. He was terribly windy for weeks but settled around 16 weeks - I think their digestive systems just need to mature unfort. I used to tear my hair out and wOnder if it was my milk etc.. Love the baskets idea.

buddha. Hope your nights away cleared your head. Two is a hard age and yes ms with a toddler is hell but at the same time they keep you busy which helped me get through it. Isaac used to pat my back when I had my head down the loo..

vjay. How's tricks? Can't believe you've only got 1 module to go - superstar!! My B is ok in the buggy as lOng as we're on the move. I kit him out in his waterproofs for the school walk as he goes 'exPloring' and ends up clarty! Think the terrIble twos have still to hit here - B is very laid back - not like his mum at all!

Going to press post before I lose this, will be back for more personals later x

cupcakefairy · 08/03/2012 16:04

Love the baskets idea barbie thanks :)

neeko fabulous news what a weight off your shoulders.

louey hope your boys recover soon!

VJayazzle · 08/03/2012 16:37

blue I'm not sure what clarty is but ajay definatley gets it when we go out for walks Grin. Sorry to here B is poorly, hope he feels better soon.

It our 10 year anniversary today and we're off out later for a meal, yum Smile and sabs my birthday is next week Smile

bluesatinsash · 08/03/2012 21:40

Happy 10th Anniversary Vjay and Pjay!! Hope you're getting fronked Grin

Eternity ring??

bluesatinsash · 08/03/2012 21:42

Clarty = dirty filthy bogging. Did you not get a glossary or Scots words when you signed your missives? Wink

VJayazzle · 09/03/2012 07:32

Yup he gets very clarty and bogging Grin.
No eternity ring but a lovely gold an pearl necklace. I have to add the gold in there else it sounds rude Blush

I'm feeling very emotional, DH is currently turning the cot in Summers room into a junior bed Confused Sad she's actually rarely slept in it, she has a cot in our room where she still sleeps, we've not ever attempted putting her in her room, she'd probably be fine but we've really enjoyed having her in our room, she'll be in her own room for many yrs afterall, and baby yrs, especially so long awaited, are precious aren't they?! So, its more the cosmetic element of not seeing an actual cot in her pretty little playroom anymore, I'm gonna slowly start putting her in there for her naps, and eventually cut my own cords(!) and put her in there at night! Need bedrails first though... I just love looking at her sleeping when I'm in bed, before i sleep and when i wake up, she's my ikkle baby still!

OP posts:
VJayazzle · 09/03/2012 14:24

Awww 4ever it's baby steps for both of you Smile. Take it as slow or fast as you want, like you say they're in their own rooms forever. It was a relief to get ajay into his because he snores, infact if I go into his room at night to check on him he always wakes up, but I've found that if I just put my ear to the door I can hear him snoring Grin.
I bet you'll get her settled in her room ad you and dh will start to enjoy your own space too then you'll get a BFP Grin

bluesatinsash · 09/03/2012 16:31

Aww 4ever lots of emotions... Watching your LO sleeping is one of the loveliest things ever Smile.

That's so Smilethat you still share your room with Summer (I take it she has never woken when you have been - ahem - you know... Blush..). As you say the baby years are so fleeting and she will be a door slamming teenager... one day!

Vjay - your necklace sounds lovely Smile. 10 years - well done the pair of you!

sabs - you are in the "it gets worse before it gets better" stage of house moving and redecoration. It will be worth it when you eventually move in and get it the way you want Smile.

cupcake - have you thought of putting J into nursery for one day a week, get him used to being away from you and you could then have one 'new baby' day a week? Some (sleep deprived) weeks I used to long for the Friday when my DS1 was in nursery as I didn't have to get dressed, go anywhere could just snuggle up on couch with DS2.. going from one to two is hard, lovely but hard. you just have to divide yourself up again - time for you, your DH, both children, friends, gym its a balancing act i'm still trying to work out. It gets so much easier when they're older. Now B is two he plays so well with his big brother and we can do things en famille but then you miss the tiny baby in a pram stage too - I'm never happy Confused Grin

Louey - I saw on FB that Luke is better, you have had a lurgy filed time of it Sad. Did you decide where you're going for Easter? (racks brain)..

It's been a gorgeous day here although I've been stuck in an office. Not long til the Easter hols and my daffs are about to bloom in the garden Smile.

4everhopeful · 09/03/2012 17:08

He he blue Grin Blush most of the time we do 'it' downstairs, and take advantage of naptime too Wink but one occasion a few months back she was actually asleep in the bed so we pulled the duvet on the floor(!) but then we heard her stirring so jumped up & got back in bed and she gave me several little smacks on my head with a cheeky and scarily knowing grin! Shock Blush Suffice to say its mainly been downstairs since! Grin We have a really noisy bed so that doesn't help!

Summer loved the new bed btw! Its another trampoline for my jumping bean! Grin

Btw, vjay too cute about Ajay snoring! Image of you standing listening at the door made me Smile

4ever LOL at the logistics of ttc with baby in the house Grin We'll be buying ds's mattress this month (already have a bed frame) so soon will be time to make the transition Confused

blue We really couldnt afford to put ds in nursery at all, but I understand where you're coming from. A couple of friends have said they'd watch him for a bit once baby is here, and we also have sil nearby now whom ds LOVES so hopefully she will be able to take him out places sometimes. I'm not too worried about it at the mo, we'll just wait and see what kind of sleeper we get Grin
Seeing my nct friend with her new baby (who is TINY) has made me relax a bit more about it, she's v chilled.

Vjay congrats on 10 years!! That is ace :) and how lovely, a new string of pearls (I believe that's the polite way of putting it Grin)

I'm off to London tomorrow to see a play with my old bestie from school (sorry I hadn't mentioned before but knew I'd have no time for meetups and am with my friend...always seems the way when I come to London!) v exciting but an early start to get a coach over...my final jaunt before becoming a mum of 2 Confused

Neeko · 11/03/2012 19:48

Cupcake Hope you had a fab day out in London with your friend. It sounds like just what you needed.

Sabs Hope the wait for the house isn't wearing you down. I'm sure it'll all be worth it.

Barbie what did the hospital say about H? I hope it isn't refux as you feared. How's the packing going?

Louey has the lurgy left the building? i had M sick Sun-Tues last week and M sick since Thurs. i'm fed up cleaning, airing and disinfecting! It's doubly hard when you're on your own - Hope your Dh enjoyed his jolly business trip Smile

Vjay how was the dinner? Your wedding sounded lovely as does the new bling.

Blue Glad B is back to fighting fit. I hate it when they are ill. Fingers crossed I doesn't gey it. Not long now til the Easter hols and no school uniforms for 2 weeks! Smile Grey's is particularly good this series I think.

LBM Of course you'd manage with 3 kids to a meet up - you're supermum! I agree with you that getting to do the school run is lovely.

4ever How's S enjoying playing in her new bed?

Thanks for all your lovely comments. I still haven't had it in writing and my HT is already calling in the favours Smile Oh and my LA has finally blocked MN Hmm

Loueytb3 · 12/03/2012 12:29

Morning! And now the fog has gone it is beautiful here Smile

cupcake a whole child free day sounds just fab. Hope you had a good time and didn't tire yourself out too much. You will be fine with 2 - its summer, we will (hopefully) have a nicer summer than last year and you can send J out into the garden while you feed. In a relatively short time you will forget what its like to have just 1 as you just adapt. I have bought the Call the Midwife books for my kindle to read on holiday. It was one the best things I've seen on TV recently and as you said the books were better I am really looking forward to it.

barbie you must be up to your eyes in it!! Has Henry sorted out his days from nights yet?

neeko urgh - so sorry you've had sick children too. Although I think puking is worse to deal with Luke is still not right, he went back to school on Friday as his temperature had gone but he is just wiped out. He had a temperature again on Saturday (we were out for the day looking at conservatories) and he has eaten barely anything all weekend. He is asking to go to bed at 5pm and then sleeps until 6.30/7 the next morning. I am hoping he is going to bounce back soon. Boo to your LA for blocking MN. Thank god for smart phones, you can lurk at least Wink

vjay you have a very dirty mind!!! Grin You see, I would never have thought anything naughty about a string of pearls until you mentioned it. Or maybe I'm just too innocent Hmm Congratulations on 10 years! Hope you had a nice dinner out.

4ever another milestone - glad Summer loved the bed although it must be weird thinking about moving her after all this time. Ours didn't last very long at all in our room, mainly due to the noise they all made. I didn't sleep! Hope your AF got better cos the flooding didn't sound like fun

LBM ooooh you're doing an extension too?? Spill!! We have all the quotes in and we went to see another company on Saturday to have look at the different options. We are getting closer to making a decision I think although we still need to iron out some details. Rather annoyingly DH is away until Wednesday and he hasn't seen the last quote which came today so I'm a bit stuck until he gets back We want to decide in the next week or so and try and get a surveyor round to do the formal plans before we go on holiday. Not sure that's achieveable though. I seem to spend my evenings on t'internet looking at sofas, storage, rugs, fireplaces...

buddha how is E at the moment?? Are you on 2ww?

blue Poor Ben - hope he's recovered Sad. we're off to Tenerife for 12 nights (2.5 weeks and counting!) I am hoping that Oscar doesn't start to properly crawl before we go as he's on the verge of it. At the moment, I can pretty much plonk him down and he'll be happy playing for a while. Its all going to change once he starts moving though...Can't believe the daffs are about to flower in Scotland too. Our magnolia tree is just coming out which I think is a record.

sabs your house will be fabby once its done, and you are doing the right thing by waiting until its ready (as frustrating as it must be). Am dreading having building work done while we are still living here.

I'm gutted but I can't do 13th (will send an email too) as we are probably going to my Mum's for a long weekend. However, even if we weren't I don't think I would brave it as like LBM I would have all 3 of them. The idea of getting them all into central london (safely) fills me with dread. Please please please can we do another meet up when the schools are back as I will only have Oscar then. I really want to meet you all.

Waves to all our MIA ladies monkey, strawberry, curly, mls, moon - hope you're all ok x

Must go, lunchtime!!

barbie1 · 12/03/2012 12:42

Hi all.
Yep, I'm up to my eyes in it!

Just been told we can inn fact take home 7 cases so I'm very happy Smile means more shoes essentials...

We had to have Henry scanned at the hospital on Saturday, due to being breeched they wanted to. Check his hips. Results in 2 days. Another appointment tomorrow as we are convinced he has reflux Sad tis very hard work as he screams in pain after a feed and is sick a lot.

I'm in London for 6 weeks from April. I can meet anybody who wants to meet me! Just let me know when you are all about because I have to fill my days some how!

Right, the baby needs a feed, dolly needs a nose wipe, the dog needs a stroke and the phone needs answering I need another set of hands...

barbie1 · 12/03/2012 15:31

any ideas???

cupcakefairy · 12/03/2012 18:42

Thanks gals, the day out was lovely, forget what its like being sans child/buggy..quite liberating!

barbie hooray for more shoe room ;)
Boo to the sleep problems but he is soo tiny still, esp considering he was early so I'm sure he will sort himself out. I think you're a superstar dealing with everything.

don't think I'll be able to make the
meetup but I'm super jealous! Maybe in another few months once I've had the baby,Eek!
Hope all poorly babies are recovering and as always, waves and hugs to our lurking & MIA ladies, always thinking of you xxx

cupcakefairy · 12/03/2012 19:09

Oh and louey fab about the call the midwife books.. I've only read the first one though so can't vouch for the others but sure they're brilliant too :) enjoy!

4everhopeful · 13/03/2012 10:16

Barbie yay and phew to 7 cases! Summer used to sleep loads as a baby, sleep, feed every 3hrs, then more sleep, I say enjoy! H will find his own routine in good time..

Cupcake glad you had a good childfree day out! Went hairdressers yesterday, and just 2hrs with some mags and a coffee is quite liberating!Shame you cant make the meet, but look forward to next time with your new addition! My MIL has brought my mum the call the midwife trilogy for my mums birthday on monday so might nab them after she's read them! Smile

Louey poor poorly boy, no fun, roll on the holiday eh?! Not at all Envy Grin We have our daffs and bluebells about to pop here too, as well as buds on our rosebushes, it was lovely yesterday!

LBM sure you wouldnt wanna chance an outing with all 3? Be great to get together again!

Blue I had iron tablets after having Summer and messed my toilet habits right up! Thankfully the recent scans and checks showed nothing awry.. Hope you and Neeks have a lovely meet up next week!

Neeko cheeky HM calling in the favours! Still a huge relief though. Do you have lots of fun filled plans for half term?

Vjay how long til your final module is finished? Bet you're counting seconds! Oooh just realised its your birthday tomorrow! Anything special planned fellow pisces girly?! Smile

Sabs well done for getting the ball rolling on the meet up! Do hope your house is sorted soon!

Buddha you have been quiet.. Hows your boy? Summer threw an almighty strop on sat, was/should of been my dbro's birthday so we had taken my mum to lay flowers and had her round for dinner, and Inlaws popped in too, dont know if it was all a bit overwhelming or what, but she was really tantruming, for no apparent reason? I thought of you as I tried to prepare dinner with her screaming blue murder, its only when theres an audience, good as gold when just us! She played up a bit yesterday for Inlaws when I went hairdressers too Confused

Hoping the strops arent indicitive of how she will be on sat night, when I'll be leaving her for the first time in the evening?! Hmm Confused Its a friends 40th so we are all off out for a girly meal, Summer will be home with DH, I tend to do the bedtime thing though, and am the one that gets her off to sleep, DH would love to but she is a bit of a mummys girl when she's tired and wanting cuddles, think DH is quite looking forward to it, but Im a bit Confused

Hi 4ever this last module will finish at the end of September, it will have taken 6 years in all to do. Thanks for the birthday wishes for tomorrow, I'm just making my birthday cake now, it's a sticky maple-apple tray bake, without the walnuts Smile
