About time I start a thread! Pom poms still shaking, bumps growing, babies and toddlers talk a plenty, while the support, laughs, hand holds and weebling continues...

OP posts:
barbie1 · 02/03/2012 15:32

Oh dear I've been away so long I lost you on threads I'm on! Marking again and will post tomorrow. Life is more than hectic right now. Will fill you in tomorrow. Much love x

cupcakefairy · 02/03/2012 18:37

barbie click 'watch this thread' and it never falls off 'threads I'm watching", even if nobody posts for weeks on end.. hope you're ok amidst the hectic haze.

Thanks louey, ds is actually fine & doc said not conj just a minor infection.

One of my nct friends had her 2nd baby this morn with just a 2 hour labour! Eek, means I'm next...

littlebellsmum · 02/03/2012 20:08

cupcake how long do you have to go? It can't be long now - doesn't seem long since Neeko had H and you were next then!!

neeko I really feel for you on the work side - it's so not easy. I was full time untill dd1 was 4 and didn't realise how hard it was untill i went part iyswim. However, my dh wasn't out all the time either and did most of the nursery pick ups/ drop offs.

louey hope the architect went well. WE have just chosen our arcitect and she did the survey last week. Is coming round next week with initial drawings - it is sooooo exciting!!

barbie hope the packing / planning is going well and you aren't too stressed - it's a major upheaval, esp when you have such little ones around.

4ever I so want to buy the reins as they are so cute but as we don't walk many places where I need reins, I think it could be a complete waste of money! MY best buy at the moment is my co rider bike seat - it is soo good. We are currently riding to school on Fridays as ds got a bike for his birthday and I normally have at least one or two familys waiting for us to set off to see how the seat works!! It is however no where near as cute as the reins! Anyway, must go , got a 7 year olds party to shop for and plan tonight and a chess cake to make!!

have a lovely weekend all

cupcakefairy · 04/03/2012 06:26

Hi lbm, 10 weeks to go here..! Scary. Could be longer of course.
Yaaaawn ds has been awake since 5 I'm now up with him watching tv while dh sleeps.. hmph. He's been waking between 5 & 6 for a while now when it was always 7 before.. doesn't seem much we can do about it til he's old enough to understand a gro clock or similar.. meh.

VJayazzle · 04/03/2012 08:20

cupcake do you have a blackout blind in his room? It might be the light waking him.

louey I like the idea of using a jumper. As for what I'm going to do with my free time, probably try and find a job. I need to get some school experience before I apply for a PGDE, so will either try and find work or volunteer.

cupcakefairy · 04/03/2012 13:00

Yeah he does have a blackout curtain but that does still let in a bit of light, might have to try something better. We're at ils this w/e though & he's sleeping in a completely dark room so don't think it can have been that this morning.. maybe just from not being in his own bed. Oh well, just a bit of a worry how tired dh & I will be once baby comes!

barbie1 · 04/03/2012 15:39

A post from me is way over due, I'm really sorry! Blush

I'm not even going to attempt to catch up with you all but will pay better attention as from today.

Things here are hectic, removal people are in and out giving us quotes, we have started sorting out things to sell and things to keep. I am only allowed 4 cases to last the whole time in London, which sounds a lot but with toys, sterilisers, clothes and paperwork there isn't much room so packing is going to be a nightmare. We are staying in central London (google east house serviced apartment london) Very close to monument station so for those who live locally I would love to arrange a meet up! We arrive on e 30th and will spend the weekend sorting ourselves out before heading home to the west country to introduce Henry to everyone on the monday. We are home for a week and then I have 5 weeks to kill.....

Dd and ds both had injections on sat, they are both doing ok. H has grown massively, already 4.2kg which shoots him up from the 9th to the 50th percentile in weight Shock and for length he is in the 90th!!! Dolly is still only 10kg but we avoided any further test as she is now on the chart, all be in only in the 3rd percentile.

I have been having a few issues with breast feeding, after sourcing a lactation nurse it turns out did have thrush in my breast caused by the anti b's from my c section wound. Thankfully h didn't get it. The pain has eases and it all looks ok for now. We also had to get a second opinion due to the nurse thinking he had tongue tie.

Devon is still waking at 6 am and a few times in the night, h sleeps almost all day and is awake from 4am onwards with wind issues! Not much sleep being had for both dh and myself but between us we are coping.

I wish I could write to you all personally but I hope you can understand why I havent had the time.
I will send out that email, I just can't do it on the iPad....

Speak soon x

Neeko · 05/03/2012 21:05

Hi all. Thanks so much for all your support. It means a lot. I still haven't heard anything from personnel, but I'm trying not to dwell on it and enjoy the time I have at the moment. I'm also dipping into the Flylady site when I get a minute to search out some ideas, plus the house threads on here.

Vjay How exciting that you are on your last module. IME schools are always looking for helpers, so if you pay for your police check you will have plenty of experience in no time.
Thanks for the suggestions re plate spinning. I already do the washing machine thing and did my first online shop last week. We literally live within 2 miles of 5 supermarkets though so I couldn't justify doing it all the time.
as for Ajay and the buggy - i'm a bribery and corruption mother when it comes to things like that! Grin They say with toddlers that it's all about the choice so perhaps try "Do you want to climb into the buggy or let mum put you in? " or "Do you want to walk with the reins or go in the buggy?". It's worth a shot. If all else fails, distract with food.
P.S. can we all get fronked with you??

Barbie Oh love, what a busy time you have up ahead and on sleep deprivation too! Shock Sad I know you are well-pracised in sleep deprivation but just kep chanting "This too will pass". Hopefully someone will let you have a few hours kip when you get back home.

Cupcake 10 weeks - wow! Bet it flies past for us! Don't worry about the sleep thing when the baby comes as you can only deal with it one hour at a time. As for J's sleep, is he maybe napping too long in the day? Sometimes they wake up earlier because their total sleep is too long. Just a thought.

4ever sorry to hear about the pampers letter Sad but waving my pompoms for you. Summer sounds like such a cutie. Your stories about her always make me Smile

Louey well done on the weight loss. I don't think I'll ever get back into my pre M stuff. Have a whole wardrbe full Blush. As for p/time work, all LEAs here are tightening their belts so I doubt there will be many spare jobs in the near future. I'm sensing that I'll just need to suck it up and work for very little gain over the next few years. Not ideal, but I know that I have to look longer term.

LBM If Dh's job was more secure I'd definitely be part time... Which days do you work now?

Hello to Blue and all the other lovely ladies I'm missed.

Blue and I were supposed to meet tomorrow but i've had to cancel as M is off school with a sickness bug. We've rescheduled for two week's time.

4everhopeful · 06/03/2012 07:29

Morning neeko - fingers firmly crossed for a good outcome on your appeal... What a shame you and Blue had to cancel your meet up, hope M is better soon..

Louey busy lady no 2 , how did it go with the architect? Exciting stuff, but how do you coordinate renovations with young children? Even painting a wall seems like a mission! We're planning on doing the front of the house... Confused Yes, thank god indeed id backed up all our photos! Id of been absolutely devastated if we'd lost them.. New pc tower arrived yesterday, attempting set up today ... Hmm

Barbie sounds hectic and stressful... I'm only 20-30mins from town so we'll all have to arrange another hook up...

Lbm another birthday to be planning? Dawned on me our babies turn 2 Shock in 2 months!

As for me got a bfn, which meant I could get mightily fronked on my birthday on sunday! 2/3 glasses turned into 2 bottles, 1 at home, 1 at the restaurant so not too bad! Very delicate feeling yesterday though, such a lightweight nowadays! Luckily Dh was home so we all had a pyjama day in front of the telly! Grin

OP posts:
Neeko · 06/03/2012 14:13

4ever Boo to a bfn but yay to getting fonked and having a pyjama day! Shock at managing 2 bottles though - two glasses and I'm gone these days Grin. Glad you had a nice birthday.

I've just been tracking my brandalley purchase and it should be here anytime. I can't wait as it's weeks since I ordered and I love parcels!

Neeko · 06/03/2012 14:13

fonked??!! fronked

cupcakefairy · 06/03/2012 15:31

Belated happy birthday 4ever sounds like you celebrated in style :) boo to bfn but just means a double whammy for you & buddha this month (and hopefully more for our MIA ladies!)

neeko u may well be right, ds has mega naps during the day, sometimes 3 hours which I must admit I love Grin but hadn't thought about that making him wake early, duh! woke him after 2 hours today so we'll see..may have to make them 1.5hrs really but I just really want the time esp when baby comes! Meh. Hope m feels better soon.

barbie dunno how I would manage with just 4 cases..practically needed that just taking ds away at weekend! Good luck. Glad breastfeeding getting sorted now. Did u get your double buggy yet? We've just got a bargainous city mini double on gumtree, I'm v chuffed!

BuddhaBelly · 06/03/2012 18:54

Apologies now but on MN app so can't do a proper catch up with proper personals and have to rely on my awful memory Blush
4ever belated birthday wishes sounds like you had a good day. Sorry about the bfn but here's hoping we get march bfps instead Smile
Neeko I'm keeping everything crossed that your appeal is successful. They should be grateful to get you part time fussy buggers Wink
Cupcake 10 weeks Shock where has that time gone?

BuddhaBelly · 06/03/2012 19:04

Part 2

Barbie four suitcases? Four? Bloody hell girl I'll be impressed if you pack everything in just four cases Shock a four day break is a car full when I travel Grin I travelled round Canada for six weeks in my youth and lived out if a backpack still have no idea how I managed that Grin H is putting in weight well, you must be producing gold top Wink at least they aren't pressuring you about D's weight at the moment.
Vjay I'm another bribery mum I give him a choice but if he still doesn't co-operate I bribe Grin not ashamed to admit it. Was it 4ever who had the cute harness for S? We've got the monkey ones and E loves them.
Been a bit low after being poorly had some doubts on ttc as I wasn't coping being ill and looking after E and I didn't want to be a crap mum whilst suffering from morning sickness for wks on end. I know every pg is different but I've been really sick with all 4 so far Smile also E's behaviour has been rather challenging and I don't seem to have been coping Sad but I'm sure it's just a phase and ttc is back on track.

Neeko · 06/03/2012 20:18

Buddha Thank you for that lovely comment. Made me well up Blush
I know it's not easy and we all do it, but try not to create problems for yourself before they happen. E is little enough not to remember the crap-mummy moments and will remember having a brother or sister to play with instead. Us Emmsy's are far too hard on ourselves. Smile Glad I'm not the only bribing mummy!

Cupcake well done on your buggy bargain. Both my bf and cm have that one and say it's amazing. Lol - I remember when cm did not mean ChildMinder to me!!
I feel your pain about short naps as H is down to one of 3/4 an hour (except when my mum has her and she sleeps for 1.5hrs Envy). Don't worry about the time when the baby comes as J's concentration span will be lengthening by the day and it's possible to do lots of things whilst bf number 2. Did you buy a close baby carrier last time? If all else fails, C-Beebies is everybody's friend! Grin

VJayazzle · 06/03/2012 20:40

Helloooo chatty lovelies Grin

4ever your birthday sounded ace, fronked followed by a pj day, think I may do the same Smile

neeko good suggestions for Ajay and I've been putting them into practice, plus trying to teach him to walk beside me and not run off, so far so good. I had to put him in the buggy the other day and bribed him with a jaffa caje, it worked and I had a few jaffa cakes with the chocolate eaten off in my bag, yukky and sticky, but got the job done Grin

cupcake 10 weeks to go!!!! wow that has gone so fast!

buddha I've been struggling with Ajay too lately too and don't feel like a crap mum, it's just a phase they are going through, they can't get their little feelings out to us in an appropriate way so scream in frustration at tus, and it is HARD work. The last few days Ajay is full of yet another cold, teething his back teeth and wakes up every morining whinging. I love him but I wake up thinking here we go agaon another battle, but it wont last forever, I promise. Thomas and cbeebies have been our best friends lately Smile

barbie I will repeat what the others have said, FOUR SUITCASES ShockShockShock, not helpful I know Grin

mls where are you?????, and sabs and gracie?

monkey and moon I know you're lurking and hope you are both OK Smile

VJayazzle · 06/03/2012 20:46

buddha that didn't read too well, it's meant to say, 'so don't feel like a crap mum', plus loads of typos, but I hope you get what I'm saying Smile, have a hug too Smile

SabsFabulous · 06/03/2012 21:37

Evening ladies. A quick post from the mumsnet app (first time!) to say I still lurk every day and think of you all and try to text you when I can.

We moved out of our flat over a month ago but haven't been able to move into the house as the renovating is still going on! Sad Saara and I are still at my mums and it will be a couple of weeks till we can move, but quite a few weeks/months before the whole house is ready

Happy belated birthday to 4ever and have I missed yours too vjay? Blush

Buddha sorry to hear you've been unwell. Understand what you mean about the wobbles of having 2 but as vjay said, you're a great mum

neeko sorry to hear work situation is not great, as Buddha said, hope they realise how lucky they are to have you and grant you your request!

cupcake 10 weeks to go, wow! So excited for you though

And barbie you know how excited I am about you coming to London Grin especially as you'll be near me. Hope we can sort dates to meet up soon, especially as I'm planning to take time off work over Easter

curly how are you feeling? Hope you got my text

Big waves toblue lbm mls louey and all the other lurking ladies.

cupcakefairy · 06/03/2012 23:19

Thanks neeko :) you're always so reassuring. I'm hoping I'll find lots of inventive ways to entertain ds once baby here but in reality it prob will be cbeebies!! Thank goodness it'll be summer though so we can all just sit in garden if nothing else.

Hi sabs and buddha good to hear from you :) sans hope you're not too stressed about house.

Gotta dash as dh asleep next to me already ..night all! X

barbie1 · 07/03/2012 15:33

Hi again,

Yes 4 cases...Shock we started to sort things out today very Sad at the thought of leaving here. However life is an adventure and we are just starting the next chapter. So much stuff to sort, however did dolly get so many toys??? Shock slowly ploughing through it when the kiddies are resting or d is at nursery.

Bad night here, dolly was awake a few time so dh slept on her floor and little h is having terrible trouble with wind, wake and takes forever to settle, cries in pain. Any tips?

Dh took the day off, to be honest we were both fit for nothing so spent the day pottering around sorting things out.

4ever, not sure if m text reached you to wish you a happy birthday, if not I'll wish you a happy belated birthday her. Very Envy of your wine and pj day!

Buddha, go easy on yourself women. We all have moment when the kids play up and we shout or feel like we are losing the plot. Doesn't make us a bad mummy. Dolly has hit the terrible two's and is trying my patience of which I seem to have very little of Hmm I have taken to walking away until she has calmed down. Bribery is also used offen in this house! I have doubted myself many a time over the past month, I offen feel like I'm neglecting d, so try to over compensate which often means she plays up further at other times. I have allocated times to each of them so they get me to themselves. Is tough, I wont lie but we will get through this time like you will. Very pleased to hear you back ttc.

Cupcake, baskets wlll your friend when the new lo arrives. To explain myself...we bought lots of lovely baskets and filled them with things ie a colouring basket, the animal basket, Playdoh etc etc. so when I have Henry dolly will pick a basket of her choice and we will sit and do it together, or if I can't she can at least sit with me while she plays. Then the activities get put back into one easy place until she gets the next one. Haven't had to resort to c beebies yet, barnie However is a different matter Wink

I think sabs is trying to arrange a meet up for the 13th April, it's a Friday. Anyone else around???

Would love t write more but out of time, Neeko I hope things get sorted soon my love. Waves to vjay, lbm, louey and all the other wonderful emmsy's x

4everhopeful · 07/03/2012 15:59

Dashing in very quick to say infacol to barbie used to give it before every feed what now seems forever ago! No tx received but thanks anyhoo! Smile

Meet up on 13th sounds fab Smile wierdly just realised was 1st ever edd, also what seems like forever ago! Lurve Giraffe but as hyper kiddies in tow to consider think a nice softplayplace somewhere centralish is prob best bet, whaddayareckon ladies?

Chilli con carne to prepare - waves to all as runs out of door! Personals asap! Blush

OP posts:
barbie1 · 07/03/2012 17:21

Infacol not working it's magic this time Sad but ta anyway!

Neeko · 07/03/2012 17:21

They said yes! SmileSmileSmile only heard it from HT and won't really believe it til I have it in writing but sooo relieved.
Back later

BuddhaBelly · 07/03/2012 17:30

Neeko Fantastic news they must have read my post Grin I'm so pleased for you Smile
Barbie What a lovely idea with the baskets. I too was going to say infacol shame it's not working. There are a few other similar products, I take it you've checked that H is latching on right? Hope it sorts itself quickly fur both of you

Thanks for the reassuring comments it's nice to know there are others in the same boat Grin

littlebellsmum · 07/03/2012 17:44

neeko hurrah - fantastic news, you must be so relieved. I work m-thurs which is lovely. I am getting asked when I will go back full time as I kind of need to for my next job but I am loathe to commit as I am enjoying my baby time too much - as well as being able to do school run one day etc.

Meeting on the 13th sounds lovely but as it's the last day of the easter holidays, I'll have three kids in tow and I'm not sure I'm brave enough. Will confirm when we have more details of venue etc. Having said that now ds has his own ds, it might be a piece of cake!! Anyway, got to go - supposed to be working and v busy

Love to all

( barbie - 4 suitcases Shock Good luck! I'm sure they sell v big suitcases in Dubai and Emirates does give an extra large luggage allowance, as I'm sure you know !!
