About time I start a thread! Pom poms still shaking, bumps growing, babies and toddlers talk a plenty, while the support, laughs, hand holds and weebling continues...

OP posts:
barbie1 · 29/06/2012 10:26

Girls, I've been crap lately..very, very sorry for my absence. Seems I missed lots of sad news. I have been dealing with the new car catching fire Shock, countless garages and legal wrangles, which is made more difficult by not speaking French, dolly has been Ill and very clingy, Henry has had a cold, his injections and is now teething! I no its no excuse but I have been lurking and thinking of you all.

monkey I hope you got my fb email? I was so very upset to hear your news, there is not one of us on this thread that deserves more any more crap then we have already endured, and you darling defiantly don't deserve any of this. I really don't know what else to say except in no way, shape or form is this any of your fault. I like your positivity in turning the negatives into positives. I too have started jogging, I can't meet your very glamourous self in the stylish capital looking like a jelly belly! The only thing is that I tend to forget to breathe when I run Blush so after 3 10 minutes I look like this Angry all red faced and then feel like this Envy sick face! Looking forward to our Paris meet up!!!! Tres excited x

4ever I can only imagen what a kick in the teeth it was for you to get your af arriving, we hear so many stories of people conceiving in the next cycle that we hope that it's going to be the same for us, I think the pressure on you having a time frame to concieve can't be helping you much, Please be kind to yourself and soak up all e joy that summer brings to you. She will be a big sister soon I have every faith in you x

I'm sorry this is short and sweet, today is the last day of nursery and so it's a half day, have spent a good two hours in garage trying to sort out the bloody before rushing home to put henry to bed. I have an hour to do things before thr whirlwind needs to be collected!

Rumours · 29/06/2012 17:44

Hi barbie good to see you, just seen you on the thread for expats wee girl, it's so sad isn't it Sad

moonmrs · 29/06/2012 20:54

Glad to see you popping in barbie sorry to hear things have been a bit crazy, hope you are ok.

Is anyone any good at interpreting dreams? I sometimes look them up on the internet, but often they are so weird there isnt any meaning! I do have a lot of very random dreams, and its one of the reasons I'm sure I'm always tired because they are so involving and I have so many of them (can often remember 5-6 when I wake up). I had a really strange dream last night thats disturbed me a bit. It does involve a baby and its not a nice story, so dont read any more if I'm likely to upset you (sorry but I didnt know who else I could tell without sounding like a freak)...............................

I dreamt that I was in a dance class (I do zumba twice a week so must have been something to do with that) and there was this big black guy with massive muscles also taking part in the class watching me, at the end of the class he followed me home and I got scared so I ran. There was a house with a light on in the porch, so I raced in there and went to knock on the door, only the door was already ajar, so I went in and locked the door behind me. At this point the man disappeared and I walked through the house calling to see if anyone was home. No one replied but I could hear a snuffling noise. I followed the noise and I ended upstairs in a bedroom. On the bed was a suitcase. The snuffling stopped. I opened the suitcase and buried in amongst the clothes was a tiny baby. It wasnt breathing. I picked it up and sat on the bed cradling it. And then I cant remember anymore. Its really disturbed me, I know its only a dream but I cant get it out of my head. Is it literally a baby in my thoughts, or is it a symbol of something else?

barbie1 · 29/06/2012 21:07

moon there is a section on mn that that deals with dreams and stuff, maybe worth posting there? I have no idea, it sounds a little scary for you...I hope you are getting enough sleep and aren't too scared by it all x

moonmrs · 29/06/2012 21:22

Thanks barbie I didnt realise, will try there too. Its only a dream isnt it, I think I need to just chill out a bit.

cupcakefairy · 30/06/2012 07:55

moon I totally get you being freaked by that.. yeah they are just dreams but sometimes they really stay with you for ages & make u feel weird. Hope you're ok. I know nothing about dreams but I would think it does actually represent a baby if that's been on your mind a lot.

monkey there are no words to tell you how sorry I am :( wanted to cry reading about your dh.. it is NOT your fault though and it is going to happen for you then you'll get to see his super happy face :) sounds like you two are so strong I think you're amazing x

moonmrs · 30/06/2012 12:09

Thanks cupcake I'm feeling a bit better about it today, I had more weird dreams to replace that one!

Hugs for 4ever and monkey and anyone else in need of a squeeze Grin

Rumours · 30/06/2012 14:32

Hi lovelies,
Just letting monkey and 4ever know I'm thinking of you both.

moon don't knowing about dream interpretation sorry, did you find help in the direction barbie pointed you in?

Well the summer hols are finally here, shame the weather doesn't know that yet. I've finally finished all the reading for my final module but still have two assignments to get in, one due before the kids go back to school and nursery eeekkk!!

moonmrs · 30/06/2012 15:59

to rumours a couple of people posted but they didnt really know. Good luck with the assignments. I keep thinking I'd like to go back to university, but I dont know if I'd have the self discipline anymore or the time.

monkeybumsmum · 30/06/2012 17:38

Oh moon, what a distressing dream Sad Do you think it could have something to do with your fears about whether you and dh will have a baby? I always think there's something positive about having a dream with a baby in it, regardless of the details. To me it's always felt like my body is gearing up and getting prepared to get pg if there's a baby in my dreams. I hope this is the case for you Smile

Thanks everyone for the kind words and hugs, as always they are muchly appreciated Smile cupcake what you said about dh and I was lovely, thank you! I do think we're made of strong stuff - we had our moments with the first couple of losses, but then we learned how to get through them together thank goodness. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful dh (even if I could strangle him at times Grin) How are your boys doing? Hope all is well and that ds2 is continuing to grow big and strong!

Rumours, I don't know how you do it - looking after two boys during the holidays, and doing your assignments. I am in total admiration!

Barbie I'll check again, but so far I haven't received a recent message on FB from you. I hope it comes through! Lovely pics of H and D btw, they are both just adorable Smile I did laugh at you saying I am glam - I am very far from it! I feel like a constant mess Grin I always think you are glamorous with lovely clothes etc!
Grin re running - are you following a schedule or just doing what you can do? I'm doing the "Couch to 5k in 9 wks" which so far (only 2 runs in Grin) seems do-able. I could hardly walk the day after the first run, but went yesterday and so far today feel a little sore but loads better than before! I do need a sports bra though!

DS has now finished school which is lovely, and I can't wait for my last day of work on Thursday to spend more time with him. I have a doctors appt on Friday to discuss what's going to happen next, and I must admit I'm a bit nervous. DH can't come as he has to work, and I know that I'll freeze up and be frustrated afterwards that I haven't asked the right questions. I think I must be a bit of a pushover, and just say yes to whatever they suggest. Think I need to fight my corner a bit more, but that's not really me...

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend, ds and I have been in the garden playing with water filled balloons - apparently I am the best mummy in the world Grin I am so lucky to have him!

Love to all xxx

barbie1 · 30/06/2012 19:46

Hello,
moon link us to your dream thread and we can keep it shamelessly bump for you, mil has a book of dreams so when we Skype next ill ask her to dig it out for us.

monkey re the running, dh has drawn me up 3 different route all about 1 and a half miles. I try to do it every other day. Have also downloaded the 30 day shred...all this fat is making me bloody miserable I can tell you. I have also downloaded myfitnesspal.com to keep track of what I'm eating...I will be skinny, I will be skinny...I will....(looks longingly at the chocolate sat in the fridge....yum!) what is this plan you are following?
Let us help you write a list for the consultants, this way you are prepared and can tick off everything you need to ask.

We did our first day out with dolly wearing big girl pants...poor little dot can fit into 3-6 month shirts again when she hasn't got a nappy on! She is just 10kg now. Henry is catching yet up at 7.2kg Shock
We had a little accident in ikea when she was far too interested in her ice cream to get to the potty on time, but the rest of the trip was pee free! What is the ettiquette when dealing with a piss filled potty? Do I just march it through thr store to to the nearest toilet or do I try to hide it Confused dolly is clean all day while in the house, I just hope she get it outside home too...when do and how do I tackle the night wee??? Nappies are so expensive over here. 20? for pampers 26 pull up! I'll be bankrupt if we cant potty train her soon Grin

Eek battery about to give up, back later x

barbie1 · 30/06/2012 19:47

Shorts not shirts!

moonmrs · 30/06/2012 20:13

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sleep/1506748-Can-anyone-help-me-with-interpreting-a-dream-please barbie here's my thread, I dont think anyone else will reply now though.

I googled and found this on t'internet (sorry I'm just trying to get my head in order)

If you find a baby in your dream, then it suggests that you have acknowledged your hidden potential.
To dream of a crying baby symbolizes a part of yourself that is deprived of attention and needs to be nurtured. Alternatively, it represents your unfulfilled goals and a sense of lacking in your life. If you dream that a baby is neglected, then it suggests that you are not paying enough attention to yourself. You are not utilizing your full potential. Alternatively, this dream could represent your fears about your own children and your ability to protect and to provide for them.
To see a dead baby in your dream symbolizes the ending of something that was once a part of you. To dream of an extremely small baby symbolizes your helplessness and your fears of letting others become aware of your vulnerabilities and incompetence. You may be afraid to ask for help and as a result tend to take matters into your own hands.
To see a suitcase in your dream indicates that you are a very composed, together person. You keep your attitudes and behavior in check. Alternatively, a suitcase symbolizes your need for a much needed vacation or break. You need a change of scenery in your life.

Food for thought eh Hmm

monkey I agree with barbie make a list of things you want to say/ask as you go through the week, then you'll feel more in control and get the answers you need (and ask dh if he has anything too).

barbie1 · 30/06/2012 21:30

I have bumped for you moon, I have looked into some other dream thread and there is a poster called onsitedream, apparently you can google her and she has a website and will interprete free of charge?

moonmrs · 01/07/2012 14:22

Thanks for the bumps girls.

barbie I looked into that poster, but her website doesnt work anymore.

Think I'm on the 2ww now Hmm

barbie1 · 01/07/2012 20:19

moon 2ww? Any symptoms? I can't believe that women on the other thread thought you were racist! Shock

today I panicked like mad when got Henry into the bath. The leg in which he had his last injection has gone bright purple and grey Shock thought some kind of horrendous reaction, called for dh who gently washed the area and it came off Confused turns out dolly had got creative with her felt tips! Grin

In other news dolly has taken to thinking she is a dog. Instead of using her potty she thrusts her hips forwards and wee's on the grass Shock due to going to the school in the forest, apparently if the children are caught short this is what they do. Trying to encourage potty use but today she preferred the garden Hmm we also caught her putting her watering can under the dog to catch his wee! Shock she told us he was weeing into his potty...dirty child! Disclaimer, our garden in in fact very nice and not often used as a toilet, however we think Fred is on his way out Sad he is getting old, very slow and can't walk too far so we have just let him outside today, hence him weeing in the garden.

moonmrs · 01/07/2012 22:09

barbie sadly no, I have backache today, I get it as soon as I've ovulated and exactly 2 weeks before af. So its not my month after all :(

I know how rude! They are taking it all too literal, dreams are symbols.

I do love your stories about your dcs, they always make me :)

littlebellsmum · 01/07/2012 23:02

barbie - I've missed you Smile. Your posts make me smile - I don't know the potty protocol in france - we always used the disposable ones with the sanitary towel type thing in the bottom, which meant, you could just bag it up and forget. Although, my friend did have one that leaked when she had her dd and dd's friends pee in it Shock

Was also thinking that I need to be brave and try to plan training for BB - DD1 was 2.5 and it was Easter, so outside, no pants and days off nursery. DS was a nightmare and over 3 before he knew what was going on - and at 7 still has accidents. Today's was funny - he got to the loo late and managed to both not get his trousers down or lift the lid, so he sprayed the bathroom! Luckily at 7, he is old enough to be both embarressed and helpful so I got him to help - he did object ( yuck, pee) untill I pointed out it was his pee and I had to do it! Am thinking that the summer might be a good time to try - assuming we have some summer that is!

moon sorry - no wise words on dreams here ( or anything else for that matter)

monkey I'm seconding the list idea - am also v impressed with the waterballons - firstly that it was warm enough to do that and secondly that you did. I agree with your ds - you are the best mum in the world Grin and he is one lucky boy. I'm lucky if I can keep my voice calm with mine all day, never mind playing waterballons!

Rumours · 02/07/2012 08:11

Morning Smile sun is shining and it's the first day of the school hols YAY!!

moon I was Shock at the mumsnetter saying you were racist! What a daft thing to say. I'm still jiggling my Pom poms for you on this 2ww.

barbie I did laugh at the 'bruise' on H's leg Grin, your D is a right monkey Grin

louey I think the wait up here for SALt is about 6-8 weeks, but not too sure.

blue and neeko are you on hols now too? It's a relief not to have to do the school run isn't it!

mls and cupcake how are the wee sjays doing?

strawberry if you're lurking I wanted to pick your brains, your ds is a year older than mine and I wondered if you'd had the 'talk' yet? Did you use a book? I know I'm going to have to handle it differently with ds1 and think a visual aid ( book) would help. He's not quite ready for it yet but did ask me what a penis is yesterday. I told him its another name for his willy, and he asked me if he could say penis and I sad yes Grin.
If anyone else has any ideas then please jump in. Like I say I'm not doing it yet just want to be prepared.

Happ days Smile

Rumours · 02/07/2012 08:13

Happy days Smile that was meant to be.

monkey I read water balloons as water melons and thought that must hurt Grin

cupcakefairy · 02/07/2012 08:29

Aw I miss strawberry loads.. please come back if you're lurking strawb..

moon you never know..it's not over yet!

barbie LOL at dolly's potty antics!! Hilarious. I'm not thinking about training ds1 for another few months yet but he's seen some of his older friends using potties & says 'Jude's turn Jude's turn!' So think we'll have to get one soon!

lbm poor you cleaning up sprayed wee!! If it makes u feel better at 3am this morning dh & I were scrubbing our bedroom carpet after a projectile poo incident from sjay.. fun!!

rumours my sjay is doing v well thanks :) he slept 9 hours straight the other night! Very lovely.. so far he's been exactly the same as ds1 in feeding, sleeping habits etc. He's smiling now too which is lush :)
Enjoy your summer hols!

Rumours · 02/07/2012 09:06

cupcake Envy at the 9 hours sleep, but well done to sjay that is good Smile

cupcakefairy · 02/07/2012 13:34

Grin I didn't get 9 hours as it started at 7pm.. and I'm stupid enough to still be staying up til around 11pm.. but still very nice!
Think ds1 is trying to drop naps though :( been a massive battle to get him to nap the last couple of weeks & today I gave up after an hour.. rubbish :(

4everhopeful · 02/07/2012 14:43

Hey lovelies...

Cupcake hopefully J will get back into his naps, Summer woke at 9am on sat & sun (bliss for Dh and I!) and obviously didnt nap, which gave us an early night both days, but today was up at 7.30am and is napping now, so, hopefully the nap dropping is still a while off for both of us! How cute that S is smiling! Best thing in the world!

Barbie you never fail to make me Smile with your posts, LOL at Dolly trying to use the watering can as Freds potty! Bless your 4 legged friend, he's globetrotted with you everywhere, I'm sure he'll be with you for a few yrs yet, lets hope so.. Envy at your running program, what do you do with H when you go out running? I need to lose at least a stone, preferably 2!

Rumours hooray to school hols, and even better sunshine to go with it! Smile I'm sure you'll sail through the last of your assignments, you've done brilliantly getting this far, v proud of you! Grin Good luck with 'the chat', isnt that Daddys territory?! Hmm Grin

Miss strawberrys posts too... Sad

Monkey how you holding up sweetness? School nearly over and hols nearly here, bet you cant wait, good to throw yourself into stuff, nice for you, DH and C to have some quality time too..

Moonmrs that dream would of freaked me out too, I have some mental crazy dreams, especially when I'm pregnant, its a definite symptom for me! Pom poms a shaking at such a deserving lady! Wink

LBM also contemplating potty training, we have 2 pottys, one with a removable bit that Summer wears on her head when on her rocking horse a'la riding hat.. Hmm She definitely understands the concept, and is dry at night, and gets up off the bed in the morning to wee so her nappy doesnt leak, she sits on her other potty and makes sssssss (wee wee) noises, but won't sit on it to actually wee, we have the nappy off in the morning, and on friday, Dolly and Fred stylee, I actually managed to catch the wee in the potty as she wee'd standing up Dolly stylee again, and made a huge excited deal that there was wee wee in the pot pot, she was equally as excited, but alas, still not quite grasping the concept of using the potty, am thinking of trying going straight to the toilet.. Hmm She definitely has control of her bladder, and tells you when weeing and pooing, in fact when swimming on hols, we had huggies little swimmers on her that were too small, was highly amusing as in the middle of the swimming pool, she kept shouting 'Poo Poo, Poo Poo!' at the top of her voice, Blush not cos she was pooing, but cos they were going up her bum! Strangely the pool emptied quite quickly after that! Grin Anyway the next day we didnt bother with the swimmers nappy and just put her in her swimming cossie, and after a good 45mins in the pool, and a shower afterwards, the second I put her nappy on, she wee'd in it, as if she'd been holding it, so i know she is ready, we just need to find a suitable receptacle for her to do it in! Hmm Perhaps a watering can?! Grin

We just had Summers 2 year check, all well and good, no worries about anything, so I'm a happy proud mummy, she was as good as gold, playing sweetly, and being a 'little treasure' as the HV put it! Grin As for me, I'm over my meltdown of last week, AF well and truly arrived yesterday, exactly 28 days to the dot since the mc, so am now back on the bus, and praying/hoping/wishing that we manage to concieve this cycle... Confused Definitely a better frame of mind though, onwards and upwards Smile

Waves to everyone else xxx

rumours Usborne do a great book on growing up - there is one for boys and one for girls , both callled what's happening to me? The boys one is on sale on either book people or redhouse for £3 I think. Or I have a copy and can send it to you - others tell me it's great.

Need to go - need to do the annual calculation of how much money the school gets from my books. Think it's about £300 this year, which will be nice
