Hello everyone!!

I have just been doing some research on line for my interview for university on wednesday (Grin Yes, I have my interview for a place on the Midwifery degree Grin)and I found \link{http://www.rcog.org.uk/index.asp?PageID=1339\this}. I know it has been mentioned on here somewhere but though I might mention it again. I might actually go even though I fortunately haven't been a victim of recurrent MC.

mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 13:27

Right, put some electricity on now! I'm all emailled up and DH is doing his masters so I can talk on here, save for a poopy nappy!
Debsy - that reflexology sounds great, I'd love to have that done, might arrange for someone to look after DDs while I have some done.
Wow CH, good look with your interview and why not go to the lecture love, it will help you with being a midwife and help you talk to ppl on here and in rl too. If it interests you go for it!

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 13:31

DH has just said I should go. I think I will if I don't have too much work from college. It will cost as it is London but hey! its a sacrifice worth making if it helps you lot out Wink Does anyone want to join me? Any of you London folkes?

So, Mygirl, seeing as you are a uni girl, any tips for my interview?

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 13:34

Haha! I never had an interview for uni - they would take anyone - how else do you think I got on the course!
I dunno really, just research the subject (as you are doing) and the uni itself so you can flatter them (saying they are hi-tech or something). Also remember to big yourself up, look at what qualities they say you need and be sure to mention all of them in your personal statement or at the interview.

Ps Still no af for me

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 13:39

Grin regarding no AF Grin Got a good gut feeling on this one

I have been reading loads of MW sites and health sites including the Royal college of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians site and the Royal college of Midwives, as well as loads more. I have got a copy of the national framework for maternity services :) and been reading for England!! I think I have enough stuff to talk about in the interview, all I have to do now is conquer my nerves :(

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 13:44

That's the bit I get stuck at - nerves. Also the bigging myself up, me and DH said we'd do it for each other (for his masters and my teacher training) so give your DH some homework - to write a list of good points about you, for you to use in the interview.

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 13:50

Fab idea! will get him to do that later :) Wonder what he will say hehee!!

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 13:55

Just tell him not to write bad points or you'll write them for him!

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 13:57

I've asked him to write good and bad pints so I can turn the bad points into positives Grin

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 14:00

Aw CH you have no bad points my love

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 14:02

I don't think its a case of me having bad point or not, rather what people perceive as bad points. For exale, I tend to be over-sensitive, but that also means I am sensitive, that I can empathise. I also tend to get too involed, but at least I do get involved and this might help my mums-to-be as a midwife. I think I should look at my bad points and see tham as positives.

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 14:07

I know what you mean and you are right but I am sure you don't have bad points. You are so nice on here and always find the right words to say and think of advice no-one else thinks of. And when we met you that cemented that fact that all the girls we met we absolutley solid gold Grin ((((((hugs))))))

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 14:15

Awwww Mygirl you are a sweetheart. We are all lovely, and we are lovely because what happens to us in our lives molds us and makes us who we are. That is what our little angels left as legacies - we might have lost them but we have learned from the loss, we have become sensitive to others experiences and troubles. We have advice, good advice to offer and we can listen and not judge. We are all special but if it hadn't been for the short but beautiful existence of our angels, we would never have all "met" and been able to help each other so much.

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 14:24

It's true what I said but I wasn't fishing for compliments (I fish to DH instead!). I think you are right but there are some ppl who have had loses but still haven't found their heart. Anyway enough about sad stuff - are you psyched up for the poker? You must teach me to play next time we meet.
In fact alking of a meet, we're available in the second week of the half term if anyone wanted to come over? I know it's only been a couple of months since the last one but thought I'd offer.

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 14:33

I know yu weren't fishing hun :) I just think that this website and all you ladies have made me a better person and you should all take some credit too. And my angel has had an influence too :)

I would love to do another meet up but we are on holiday the first week of the break and I think DH might be a bit reluctant to drive a long way again in the second week :( He is very aware of how much diesel costs and moans if I take the car on any unneccesary trips Angry Maybe we coud wait til the weather is more reliable?

OP posts:
Coathanger · 04/03/2006 14:42

Okay ladies, I know its Saturday and not many of you are on here today, but my PC is screaming in agony everytime I click on "refresh" and it takes forever to catch up. What do we reckon about starting yet another new thread?

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 14:43

No probs hun, we're going up north on the first wkend, having a tea party for DD3's 1st bday then bringin Mam down here til poss Mon when DB&SIL will take her home.
I don't mind using my house for the meet but if anyone would prefer otherwise then I don't mind that either. It would be free car parking and food for you's! Also it wouldn't be far for Diddle and the new baby to travel in the summer months if she wanted to come.

mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 14:46

I don't mind a new one, shall we think of names? Eg dear easter bunny, beanies for easter type thing.

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 14:49

Choccie coated beanies!! Or wishing for "eastebumps" with a surprise inside"!! Hehee!! Liking that one Grin

OP posts:
Coathanger · 04/03/2006 14:50

Mind you its ages til Easter so maybe a spring one would be better and save the choccie egg references til later

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 14:50

Chocolate fertilised easter eggs! Now that's just crude!

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 15:03

I think "TTC after MC thread - Bouncy, springy babies please!"

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 15:08

That's it, if we get pg now the beanies'll be born around xmas won't they (or is my maths really crap?)

Coathanger · 04/03/2006 15:12

Yeah they will so perhaps it should be "Springy BFPs for festive babies"

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 04/03/2006 15:18

Loving that, who's to do the honours? I don't mind if you do it.
