Hey All!
Im currently on CD 20 so around 8-10 days until the AF arrives or I can test :D Just thought there may be some others that are waiting and driving themselves crazy! Thought we could hopefully share our BFP within the next few weeks, and keep each other sane! :D

Just cracked and did a test, only 10DPO. Dunno what I was expecting. It was negative anyway. Feel SO pissed off this month. Struggling to stay sane. Why won't it just happen?!

JNO18 · 18/01/2012 18:09

But congrats on your positive Cali!!! Great news Smile

Southsearocks · 19/01/2012 07:38

I know that I'm obsessing because I woke up this morning and badly needed a wee and immediately started looking up 'early signs'. Good grief Smile. I'm only on day 19!

kalidasa · 19/01/2012 09:27

Oh dear - bad news from me. Yesterday I had a call from my sister to say that she has cancer, and this morning I started to bleed. It is 19 dpo so I'm quite sure that we had conceived, but I guess there was something wrong, or perhaps the shock didn't help. I feel especially sad because she hasn't told my mother yet, who'll be beside herself, and I was thinking that at least I could tell my mother my news too, even if it was really early.

shinyblackgrape · 19/01/2012 09:35

Big, big hugs Kalidasa. I'm so sorry. x

PreHeatedOven · 19/01/2012 09:44

Hi, could I join you? I'm going slightly mad here! 7dpo having my blood test to check I ovulated today.
I've already done 3 tests...why oh why did I even bother? I know it won't show up!

So sorry to hear your sad news Kalidasa.

Congratulations Cali.

I had a few symptoms- boobs bit sore, tummy just feels a bit odd, perhaps some visible veins on boobs. Had lots of cm but apparently that could just be estrogen rise in the LP.
Sorry possibly TMI!

I don't have my hopes up tbh!

wifey6 · 19/01/2012 10:15

kalidasa.... Sad so sorry to hear of your sad news Sad

kalidasa · 19/01/2012 11:13

Thanks everyone. Obviously this isn't really a big deal compared to my sister, and this was our first month trying anyway so even half-working is a good sign I suppose. But not a great day to be dealing with a big progesterone drop.

Got to give a lecture this afternoon which will be a bit tricky if it gets really heavy but it's OK at the moment.

Countmyblessings · 19/01/2012 11:25

Ohhhh Kali, I'm very sorry and the news from your sister is also full on with emotions, I do hope that you talk about your loss even though it was early! My thoughts & prayers goes out to your sister!

Southsearocks · 19/01/2012 12:03

Kalidasa - so sorry to hear your news... My mum is fighting the big C too so thoughts and prayers for you and your sis.

kalidasa · 19/01/2012 12:10

It's actually caused by cancer treatment I think. She had huge amounts of radiation for leukaemia in the 80s, much more than they use now. She was one of the first people to survive the diagnosis she had so obviously they were just trying everything and not thinking about long term stuff. Waiting to hear more today.

Good luck to everyone else.

bettybat · 19/01/2012 12:11

Kalidasa, so sorry to hear your news :( Please do take care of yourself....don't under-estimate the effect this will have on you. It might not actually be you with the diagnosis but you love your sister, you will be frightened for her no doubt, and yourself. Please take care :)

AF is just going and I've read Taking Charge of Your Fertility - armed with a little more knowledge this time around, but not getting obsessive with charting, I will be just generally observing CM. I've also booked off four days of work around the general/potential/oh-god-I'm-not-sure ovulation days - work is super stressful at this time (project deadlines) but screw it!

Does anyone know, in terms of observing CM....if it's kind of your last AF day, and it's mostly gone but still showing some menstrual blood when wiping...do you mark that as Period still?

I'm so useless at this...I always want absolutes but nothing is ever definitive!

kalidasa · 19/01/2012 12:22

Thanks bettybat. Personally I'd mark what you describe as 'spotting' - I charted for contraception for years and always wrote 'spotting' for anything that was just when I wiped/very small dots on underwear/didn't seem worth using a pad or menstrual cup. Hope that helps.

PreHeatedOven · 19/01/2012 13:25

Oh I am ditze I thought Cali and Kali were 2 people I'm
So so sorry!

wifey6 · 19/01/2012 13:33

Hi everyone...feel like a cow or being so jealous that a good friend of mine has just announced she is pregnant...that's two now. I know I shouldn't be...I am genuinely happy for her...but just a bit sad it hasn't happened for me again.Sad

Winnie81 · 20/01/2012 12:35

Hi everyone,

I couldn't wait any longer so i POAS this morning and there was a faint line!

I'm going to test again tmrw or Sunday as I'm not convinced because it was faint.

AF due on Tuesday ish if my body is still on 33 day cycles! I took a chance and used a Superdrug test.

I will update you when I know for sure either way!

ellesabe · 20/01/2012 20:05

Can I join?

My cycles have been all over the place since I cut down on breastfeeding my dd and I have only had three proper periods so far. We have started ttc this month though and I'm on day 20.

Dh buggered off overseas with work on Thursday so we were dtd like crazy for the week before (days 10-18). Do you guys think we have caught ovulation or might we have been too early in my cycle?

Also, I'm sure it's far too early to be symptom spotting but I have had super amounts of ewcm today...hmmm.

Congrats Winnie :)

Elle x

wifey6 · 20/01/2012 20:20

I am going mad...turns out my 2 week wait has started now...not last week-Sad
Stupid online app! My cycle was all over the place December so I am presuming & going by OV symptoms etc.
DTD regular for the last 3 weeks so keeping fingers firmly crossed that this is our month. Damn 36 day cycleAngry

Winnie81 · 21/01/2012 08:31

BFP GrinGrinGrin

Southsearocks · 21/01/2012 09:55

Yay Winnie!! That's fabulous news, congratulations! Is this your first? Smile

Winnie81 · 21/01/2012 10:32

Southsea thanks, no not my ds1 was born in 2004 but sadly passed away in 2007 after a lovely but short life.

We will have to have a cvs test at 12 weeks as ds had a rare genetic condition. We have a 1 in 4 chance each pregnancy of the same condition.

LauraM20 · 21/01/2012 11:28

Winnie thats amazing news!! Im so happy for you, please keep us posted on how things are going for you.

Kalidasa how are you feeling today?

Wifey, it doesnt amek you are a horrible person, I expereince this jelousy on a regular basis, nearly all my friends are either pregnant or have babies all apart from me :(

Feeling much happier at the moment but I think thats because im not on my two week wait at the moment, I go from being so upset because AF has arrived to being all positive that its ok will definitly happen next month, to crying because AF has arrived again! I have decided not to stress this month and have been keeping myself busy with a HUGE list of jobs around the house to do this month and we have booked a holiday so gives us something to look forward to, am hoping pushing it to the back of my mind will make it happen this month! :)

kalidasa · 21/01/2012 12:38

Thanks Laura. Actually I'm feeling a lot better today. My temp is finally coming down (though still just above cover line on the third day of bleeding so it's a bit slow) and I think the lower progesterone is making me feel a lot better. As you say the beginning of the cycle is a nice optimistic time and I always feel really great and energetic in the run up to ovulation anyway. Though we are sad about the pregnancy, to be honest it is also quite a relief to feel better after feeling really unwell for over two weeks. And with this stuff going on with my sister I'm glad to feel a bit more robust for now so I can help out. It was only our first attempt so we are taking the positive view that conceiving was a good sign even if it didn't work out.

I'm pretty sure from the chart that the problem was that implantation was very late (about day 13). I read a scientific paper that had looked at lots of healthy women trying to conceive and found that all implantations after day 12 ended in early failures. This fits with my chart - which had a dip and triphasic shift very late, and also explains why I got a positive very late too (17 dpo). So I feel like I have a sense of what happened and hopefully things will work out more successfully soon.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting to test.

Beeblebear · 21/01/2012 17:48

Winnie. Congrats! You must be a whirl of emotions right now. I'm keeping you in my thought with hopes of a good cvs for you. :)

Southsearocks · 21/01/2012 22:09

Winnie - ditto Beeblebear and everything crossed for you...
