Kat izzzz wise

Fuck. I knew Id fall ofgf the waggon sooner or later. Has wagon got one g or two?

Northey · 06/01/2012 04:22

No idea, lovely. How's your head this morning?

I also was drunk last night. So drunk I couldn't lie down and close my eyes to go to sleep. Am now wide awake (common side effect for me) even though I'm desperate to go back to sleeeeeep.

KatAndKit · 06/01/2012 05:08

I'm wide awake too. Foolishly drank diet coke in the evening before bed and now have hideous acid situation going on. I hate being awake in the middle of the night. It's not even like I have a job thingy that I'd need to be up for in an hour or two anyway. I wouldn't mind then, I'd just get started early. But now a fairly boring day is going to be even longer.

rie I read in the papers that apparently abstaining in January is "pointless". Even the medical profession say so. So don't worry about your wagon too much! What was the occasion anyway?

Alas, no time in Paddington to buy the MacDonalds breakfast I had promised myself on my way home. The tragedy.

The fizzy gin will do nicely as a substitute though.

Gah. Have just found out that friends of mine are expecting their seventh child. I just want to start with one!

AriesWithBellsOn · 06/01/2012 14:35

Barbie has laid! Let's give it up for her. She's really been through the mill from the beginning of TTC to the final result.

Beautiful little girl, delivered by C Section early this morning after a marathon and very painful sounding labour. So happy for her I could cry! Grin

KatAndKit · 06/01/2012 14:38

yay!! A total example of the "No ESH left behind" motto in action - I'm so glad she has got her luffly baybee at long last. Congrats barbie and of course ken

dotty 7 kids?! I'm not sure if that is mental or greedy!

She's about a size 6 - bloody typical!

FriendofDorothy · 06/01/2012 14:42

Oh, I won't be too nasty though. Her first one died as a result of a homebirth gone wrong. Not nice.

KatAndKit · 06/01/2012 14:46

Oh gosh poor woman. What a terrible thing to happen.

CaveMum · 06/01/2012 14:47

Big congrats to barbie Grin

A bit of advice pliz:

We've been invited to Sunday lunch next month with some friends of ours who have just had their first (4 weeks old). HWHNN was very considerate of my feelings and told them we'd let them know. They're not close, close friends - HWHNN was in the Cadets with the bloke and he "ush'd" at our wedding - but I'm really not sure how I'll react around a baby (probably tears and snot rather than running away screaming in fear). I have very little "baby experience", as in I've only ever held 2 - 1 about 15 years ago and 1 about 18 months ago.
HWHNN said he totally understands if I'd rather not go at the moment, but am I making a potential mountain out of a molehill?

BTW, on boob-watch in still convinced they're a bit bigger and my nips seem to jump to attention at the slightest touch. No tenderness/pain though Hmm Oh well, only another 9 days of menkulling before I find out [sigh]

eurochick · 06/01/2012 14:54

Yay for Barbie!

Shock at 7 kids. Ouch.

cavey I deal with it by reminding myself about the old wives tale about holding a baby to become pregnant. I know it's bollix but I can convince myself with mind over matter for as long as I am there. Would it help for HWHNN to tell them in advance that you two are trying and it is taking a while and that you are a bit sensitive, so you don't get any foot in mouth comments like "it's wonderful, you really should do it, you know", "non-parents just won't understand", "you should crack on with it before its too late" and other things that would lead you to want to kick them in the nether regions? We used this tactic with the MiL at Xmas and it worked really well.

AriesWithBellsOn · 06/01/2012 14:56

Cavey, I think if you feel you can, you should go. We can't hide from babies - they're bloody everywhere. I've just had a Christmas when I was surrounded by babies and small children and at times it was fucking hard. But I'd far rather have gone than not.
