Lovely Boo pliz not to self loathe. Running is great for all sorts of things but making You Feel Good About Yourself is definitely one of them.

I agree with Drom that the couch to 5k is veh useful. Better to follow a guide / programme thing too as it tells you what to do when which is useful. You should only stretch when you are warm so either at the end of your run or after you've jogged for 5 mins.

My resolooshuns are:

Join a book club or start one.
Run more.
Get a PB over 10k
Spend less money on crap.
Win a baybee.
Smile everyday.
