Thinking of you kittens such a difficult time of year for so many. We can hopefully offer a distraction if nothing else.

Yes dr s should offer u super ovulation. You will need to ask him to be frank and upfront about your age. If he thinks you shouldn't waste time on it then best he tells you. Particularly if he knows the entire picture. Sometimes over 40 category dont respond well to super ov drugs, but then that still means sometimes they do.

This is my 4th attempt for a BFP this month and if I don't get a positive I'll be a bit lost I guess. If u r on 9th attempt then understandably he will be more than willing to help as much as he can.

Big hugs from cocoon house.
I've got my self in a Tis but is nothing after youre struggling with your France situation so will probably post about my stupid thing later today. Blush Love to all. Hope its a chatty day on here today.

Congrats Free! Such fantastic news - I think 9 weeks is a great milestone! Only a few more weeks now and you are 12 weeks :)

Thanking of you Kittens at this difficult time.

My scan is next Wed which I'm petrified about. I'll only be 6+2 so not sure what they will see. I'm having symptoms on and off but I'm always worried:(

Hi to all!

Kittens I am so sorry you are having such a tough time of it. I hope you got some rest.

free that's is amazing news. I cannot imagine what it must be like to see something other than an empty womb on a scan.

My news is that I had a scan last night. It was supposed to let Mr S tell me when to take my trigger shot but he said all of my follicles were small and he would ideally rescan in a few days but because it's Xmas he can't, so no trigger shot this month and he doesn't think I will ovulate until day 18! I was really surprised as that would be the latest ever in all the months I have been tracking it. When I first started ttc, I would ovulate on days 15 and 17 alternately (I obviously have one slightly lazy ovary!). With acu and supplements, that moved to 14/16 about 6 months ago and has stayed there consistently since, so day 18 would not be a step in the right direction! However, he did say that with PCOS, there can be lots of follicles growing and then one will quickly take the lead and it can be quite unpredictable. So all in all, my scan yesterday was a bit of a waste of time and money. Meh.

snoopy my superov drugs cost 60-something quid for 5 days of the 2.5 Letrozole and the trigger shot injection. He is putting me up to 5mg Letrozole next month, so I guess that will cost more. I buy mine at Boots.

Hello to everyone else!

duggs1976 · 23/12/2011 08:40

euro your story sounds pretty similar to mine last mth. The 5mg did the trick this time. Whether they fertilised or not I'm not sure yet but don't be disheartened. Also I looked on it as an "educational investment" last mth. Whatever happens in there happens but now we know about it we can respond more accurately. Dissapointing I know but u have much better chance next month with ur 5mg.

Kittens I think miscarriage is a lonely place anyway so you will find it hard with everything else going on too. Hugs from me too xx

Free great news on the scan, only a few weeks to go until the 2nd trimester!

Duggs it was Asda that had the cheapest superov drugs on offer. I got 10 tablets of 2.5 mg Letrozole for £10. I have no idea when your DPO is based on so maybe you should phone/email the clinic.

I am def out for a BFP so feeling really fed up. Got my progesterone results from NLC and they confirmed that I have not ovulated this month. I am on CD23 so am guessing it should have happened by now. DH and I have been SWing every other day but there was no point! I am annoyed that in the past I have conceived in the 1st month and now since taking the preds it has stopped me ovulating completely so there is no way I can get pregnant at the moment. I just hope the superov plan will work or I might have to give up hope of having baby no 2. I know that if I dont take the preds I will miscarry again but part of me wants to stop them. Phoned my mum to talk to someone and all she could say was "you have one lovely daughter so try and enjoy Christmas" honestly wished I hadnt have bothered as it made me feel worse!

I am going to wait for my AF to arrive (if and when it does) and then start the superov plan. Hopefully it will start after 28th Dec otherwise I will have to wait for next month as NLC is not open to have the ov scan at CD8. I dont really want to go up to Harley St and would rather Dr S is doing it than another consultant.

Snoopy a holiday in Florida sounds great! I asked Dr S to go on the superov programme as had an inkling that the preds had stopped ovulation. Why do you say time is running out? We all feel like that but I didnt want to keep waiting and hoping knowing that my cycle was not as it should be.

Euro when I spoke to Louise yesterday she told me that there is another consultant at Harley St (Mr Masoos) who is doing the follicle scans next week whilst Dr S is on his hols. Maybe you should contact NLC for his details???? I personally would rather Dr S did it than someone else.

Thanks for your lovely messages. I've not tested today, even though it's 10dpo. Either way, I don't really want to know at the moment so I shall remain blissfully ignorant, although the pre AF feelings are giving me a hunch of what's to be.

My step dad just told me that he could take me to the local clinic to get my blood tests done if I needed him to, although it depends on whether we can get cover for looking after mum when we go out. It would seem amusingly ironic to get fertility blood tests at a clinic in a town called Condom.

kittens I feel for you going through all this, especially at Christmas. Big hugs from me too and do come and let it out on here. I hope at least that your OH will be there with you over Christmas?

sue that's really annoying isn't it? Hopefully super ov will kick them into action next month.

Is anyone testing today? duggs you might get a very nice (if scary at the same ime iykwim) Xmas present!

coley from my and others' experience you can get anything at 6 weeks or so from "a sac with possibly something in it we aren't sure come back next week" to a heartbeat. I am always going to be shitting a brick before a scan, having never had a more positive one than the above mentioned "come back", and think this is completely normal for us with killer wombs. All you can do is try to stay calm as you can and keep reminding yourself there's nothing you can do and what will be will be. Fingers crossed for you and battery for next week :)

Ooh, just remembered, Duggs what's your little tis?? hope you're ok.

May not get on here much the next few days, except on iPhone, so I shall take this opportunity to say that I hope everyone has as peaceful, relaxing, and stress-free a Christmas as possible, with as few familial niggles as possible too. May 2012 bring us all what we wish for or at least be better than this year !

Xmas Smile

Thinking of you kittens at this very difficult time.

sue as depressing as it is, you may well ovulate and conceive in the next week or two. As I think I mentioned in a pm I had a scan on cd19 showing no follicle activity at all. I then went on to ovulate and conceive this pregnancy on cd31. I was crushingly disappointed after that scan, but it worked out fine in the end. So don't lose hope. Have you stopped the pred? I would stop asap and treat this almost as though you've just finished af and now waiting for the egg.

euro cd18 is a perfectly reasonable day to ovulate - save your trigger shot money this cycle and just have loads of fantastic drunken Christmas sex! Will you still be taking pred this cycle? I'd make absolutely sure you've ov'ed first.

Yes, digi, I will still be taking pred this cycle. I will wait until I get a temp rise confirming ov before I do though. I'm just a bit disappointed - I seem to ovulate earlier (better?) without the superov drugs. I'll give the higher dose a try next month and if I have the same problem I think I will just try natural ov plus pred because my cycle was so regular before.

To the women having ov problems now, after how many months of pred did they start?

Thanks sue but I'd probably need scanning on Xmas or Boxing Day CD 15/16) so it's just not going to happen this month. I'm disappointed but it's just that the timing's bad.

Ooo, dinner's ready. Gotta go!

Ok well I am 9dpo and did a test today just because I am lame and impatient and have a bunch of cheapie Internet sticks. I got a VERY faint BFP but it was so faint I have to tip stick. I have done another and the same. However, before i get pleased I have read on dr google it takes 7 days for the 250g ovritrel HCG trigger shot to leave the system. (mine was 9 days ago) Bur it makes false positive are possible. I am really not sure if this is a true BFP as I usually don't get a BFP until at least 14 DPO. Anyway that is my headf*ck Tis!!

I am sure it is just the remains of the trigger. Really wish I hadn't been so naughty and tested so earlySad dr s didn't say anything about testing too early!

Sad for kittens Sad

I think I'll test on 27th, even though I havent got a clue when or if I ovulated. Confused
Could I also ask what you need checking at your GP whilst on the 'roids'? Is it BP, blood sugar and urine?

Christmas hugs to everyone!

Coconutfeet · 23/12/2011 21:12

Duggs, Yep, that sounds like a complete headf*ck! Presumably if it's the trigger then it'll be fainter tomorrow, so if it's darker then you've got your answer. Will be checking in anxiously for you to see how you get on.

Buster I think it's BP that needs to be tested regularly whilst on the pred.

I hope everyone's OK!

Duggs - you could leave it a few more days and test on 14dpo? That way you will know either way. I always find testing early useless for me as I don't test positive until 13/14 dpo either. How confusing for you!

Sue - I'm really sorry to hear the pred has stopped you ovulating. I'm sure the super ovulation plan will get you back on track for a new year BFP.

Buster - I think its your BP that needs checking on the pred but I haven't had that done apart from having when I had Intralipids. Were you told to have this tested by your GP?

Lurking for Duggs's news... Sorry it's fainter hun, I don't really understand all the details re super ov but I do know this whole process is a total headf*ck!! Confused

Keep testing though, it ain't over yet. I've never had a BFP earlier than 13dpo either. If you keep testing say every other day, you can bump up to 40 as soon as possible.
