Hi everyone - sorry so many of you have such rotten colds. I have almost finished my antib's for my post pred chest infection so now feeling great and sure enough - just like the warning in today's Evening Standard - i have managed to give my cold to everyone in my team at work because I was a martyr and insisted on going to work when I was miserable. i am REALLY popular.

free - will be thinking of you on scary scan day! if you are up to it you know you will have to post as soon as you can as you will have the whole thread eagerly awaiting your news. we'll be at St T's on Friday with DS checking in with his consultant (just routine hopefully) - so won't be able to check the internet for several hours. always makes me a bit sad going to that hospital as it is where DS was born and where I've been going to the RMC specialists. Feel like popping in to the EPU and having a blood test just for old times sake. It's funny when there's nothing more they can test for (does anyone else have well meaning friends & family say "oh! have you been tested for clotting issues?" - like we might not have possibly considered all the options already?)

just for good measure and because i am a bookworm I have ordered Dr Beer's book "Is your body baby friendly" for some light night time reading - i think a few of you have that already don't you?

digi hilarious that your mum just breezes on like nothing has happened. mine is a bit like that. though on the spritual/tarot/fate theme, she refuses to be phased by my mcs as her clairvoyant told her I will have a child next year [sigh].

in case anyone would like a break from inlaws/family/sale shopping/grey gloomy weather, i will be heading into London on Wednesday 28 December for an acupuncture appt. and could meet anyone who is keen for lunch or an early evening drink - whatever suits best - on Southbank let me know. Leaning towards lunch but could re-jig if later afternoon suited better. kind of a warm up for our Southbank meet up on Saturday 28 Jan. I will be sans DH and DS (not that DH knows this yet!)

Hello, found you, well have finally got my beloved phone back and am straight onto mumsnet! I know can go on pc but I like to so my mumsnetting in all those spare moments, on the bus, in bed, waiting for kettle to boil etc.
I have skimmed through and I do hope everyone is well. My baby is still hanging on though I've had two scares in the last fortnight (spotting and then abdominal pain) so two panic-filled trips to hospital to see baby waving nonchalantly at me on scan. Sometimes the anxiety is really more than I can bear! Digi my anomaly scan is on Jan 5th.

Stogan · 21/12/2011 22:21

Hey all, I haven't left the planet just MEGA busy with leaving work on friday, wooo hoo can not wait to just sit back and enjoy being big !!!

Will try to keep checking in, sorry I'm so crap at name checks but someone mentioned being 9 weeks and being worried that they felt well , if it's any consolation I felt great until about 13 weeks (all pred finished) and my god was I ill !!! That was when I got signed off work for 2 weeks and just slept constantly, from about 13-18 weeks I felt DIRE !!! feeling greet now tho apart from the flipping itchy feet !!!

Xxx

suemays · 21/12/2011 22:23

Hi everyone, met up with Scooter today as had an appt at NLC so snuck in a quick coffee first! I am going on the superov plan next cycle. Did any of you manage to get the drugs on the NHS through your GP? I am going to try it so will let you all know!

Iggi glad all is ok with you after your scare.

Free if I dont get on here before Fri, good luck with the scan

PQ77 Louise told me today to go and get the flu jab whilst not on the preds before the 2ww so maybe its worth doing and for all the other ladies WTTC/TTC before they get pregnant. I have now got another cold after shifting the last one a few days ago - sure it's the same one i have had for over 8 weeks!

Duggs I hope you have caught this month - keep us posted!

Hi Picolina nice to have you on here!

Waves to everyone else!

PQ77 · 21/12/2011 22:56

iggi glad everything is ok but the trips to hospital must have been awful. what are you doing to deal with the anxiety? [looking for tips]

hi stogan, nice to hear from you.

suemays - good point. I managed somehow to have my wits about me enough to get my flu jab the week after my mc in november, thinking it would be good to get in there with that. we get them free at work so it was quite easy - I think otherwise you'd have to pay unless you are pregnant, you have a chronic health condition or you live with someone who has a chronic health issue

picolina123 · 22/12/2011 07:25

Hi again,
freelance you were right, today my ovulation machine said high so maybe next mth i wait till day 10. i didnt know if i should be on it when i ovulate or start when i ovulate.
had a glass of wine yesterday, is that a no no? i didnt sleep at all last night am shattered.
duggs, euro ,cheerful- im surrounded my women in my family falling preg, yesterday i was the only female without a toddler , baby or currently pregnant and its depressing how easy it is for some people! or maybe people dont share all the problem bit, i try and not be depressed with my hubby as he feels so helpless and never knows what to say to me bless him, he shows his support in other ways but sometimes you need words.

iggi sorry to hear you've had such a rollercoaster fortnight. Fantastic news that baby is all fine though. Have you emailed Louise to mention your bleeding and pains? Just wondered if Mr S might have an opinion on it.

stogan can't believe you've only got two more days to go! Does your mat leave start next week or are did you have holiday leftover to tack on to the beginning of it? I'm planning on working up to 35-36 weeks depending on how my spd works out. I think I would try and work from home if it got that bad - if they'd let me.

duggs I didn't get any lower backache on the met or pred - so might not be the drugs! Got my fingers crossed for you. Are you testing from 10dpo or holding out a few more days?

cheerful congrats on getting to 9 weeks, are you still holding out another 3 weeks for the next scan or do you have a cheeky one booked for in between?

I'm working from home again today, as throat too sore for office banter Sad. Then tomorrow I'm officially off for Christmas and New Year! Sorry for whining about a little cold. It's just I haven't been ill for so long I'd forgotten how rubbish it feels and how boring it is to have to just sit around and not do anything while you recover. Just glad I'd got most of the presents and food ordering sorted last week.

OP posts:
suemays · 22/12/2011 12:23

Had a bit of luck today (for a change) my GP has converted the private prescription for the superovulation drugs! She did show me that they would have cost over £100 if I had bought them from their pharmacy. If anyone else is on the programme or about to go on it, I did price matching earlier incase my GP wouldn't help me and Asda were the cheapest as quoted me around £63 for the letrozole and ovitrelle injection. Tesco was a few pounds more but almost half the price of a standard pharmacy or Boots/Lloyds. They do it at cost price apparently!

Also superdrug have got buy one get one free on first response preg tests (double and single packs). I normally get mine from Amazon but might stock up on some!
Off out to meet a friend for lunch so sorry for no name checking but thought I would share my info incase everyone was stocking up over Christmas!

duggs1976 · 22/12/2011 13:51

Fab sue I've been paying boots prices! Hopefully won't need for a few more years now but if I'm still doing my super ov next mth this is great to know x

duggs1976 · 22/12/2011 17:42

digi will test 10dpo even though I've never had BFP at this early day before but I have the patience of a 3 yr old. Sad

PQ I'm working wed thur next week am about in central London ! R u coming to Harley street? X

suemays · 22/12/2011 17:50

PQ I think the flu jab is around £15 but I might wait to see if I get a BFP in the next week or 2 before I book one in!

Duggs just after i wrote my last post, my GP called me to say they won't be able to do the drugs on the NHS - only the preds! I then had to go to Asda but they managed to sell the Letrozole for £10 so much better than I was quoted over the phone as they gave me a different brand. I am holding off on getting the Ovitrelle until I start my AF or get a BFP! When are you testing? I will also test at 10DPO seeing as I have about 6 packs of FRER at the mo!! I have also been getting lower back ache and weird needle sensations in my lower stomach. It's not like period cramping pains so I am hoping it's a good sign. I get my progesterone results tomorrow from Dr S to see if I have ovulated so at least I will know if it it viable for me to keep hoping this month.

freelancegirl · 22/12/2011 19:56

So sorry in advance for missing anyone's news, I will catch up properly tomorrow - as unexpectedly find myself in a hotel near Oxford. Mr S needed to change the appointment and so, after some complicated logistical changes involving a round trip to Brighton and, after Epsom, a brought forward drive north I am unexpectedly on the other side of said scary scan!

The baby, quite miraculously is still alive and literally kicking! Even seen on an external scan this time. Louise was there too and mr s was super pleased, feeling that 9 weeks is a real milestone.

Obviously I am aware that things can still go wrong and that the next few weeks are still going to be a nightmare wait for another scan, but I did allow myself a few moments of hoping that maybe, just there maybe might be a baby at the end of this journey.

So tomorrow I am on 5mg less Pred every 4 days and just hoping that everything else is doing a good job of keeping those nk cells in check a little bit longer.

Sorry again it's all about me! Will post properly tomorrow. We booked a hotel on the way north to break the journey and are now cosied up in an old coaching inn in Oxfordshire! If anyone does any list updating I measured 9.4 and next scan is probably on the 6th.

Hope everyone else is ok xx

ChoccyPud · 22/12/2011 20:20

Yay!!!! Free that's brilliant news. Grin

AandRMum · 22/12/2011 20:34

Oh freelance am so chuffed for you - go kicking bean!!!!!!!!

batteryhen · 22/12/2011 20:40

Free - that is lovely news :) In a way - was it better to have it thrust on you at short notice? So you don't have to wait and worry over night?
I think coley is the next scannee - then me, which I am not even thinking about to be honest.

So all of you that are testing at 10 dpo - I need a date please. When are you 10dpo??? Then I can stalk you all.

All ok here, just really really tired, but I think that is due to the fact we have a new pup and the decorators have been here for the last 3 days and the house is in chaos.

Hope everyone is ok xx

Comedyworks · 22/12/2011 20:41

Really, really pleased for you free - fantastic news!

Hi everybody and greetings from Florida!

I've been here a week now and it's absolutley gorgeous weather 82 deg at Disney yesterday, also really nice and balmy at night too. Played tennis every day, swam and hit some golf balls with DS/DH. I've just managed to pop them off down the range again so I could catch up on thread!

Welcome all newbies will catch up on your stories when I return and free cheerful 9 weeks can't believe it - it's gone really quick from here.

My news is 14dpo today and BFN again so gettin bit disappointed this end. I know it's only Cycle 2 but time running out. When I get back I need to pick your brains about Super O plan duggs and sue. will he put me on it if I just ask for it? did you ask or did he suggest it? I think Dr S wants to see me now so see what he says.
I thinks duggs put the cost on here somewhere so will have to read back. The only advantage of BFN is that don't have to get Intralipids in florida in end and have to stress about that. It's messing up cycle thou, AF here and it's 4 days early.
If I don't get back on here before Christmas, I hope you all have a lovely time wherever you are and that family stresses calm down and that Santa brings us what we want!

Havingkittens · 22/12/2011 22:25

Hello, lurking from France here. I think I'm on 10dpo tomorrow battery but I've had very periody type pains all afternoon and not holding out for a BFP. To be honest, if I did get one I'd be petrified as I'm pretty scared about having to be back home for specific times for scans etc. I also have an immense Pred stomach ache so would be quite pleased to come off them asap.

I'm afraid I've been hiding here and not really up to posting personals. I am really struggling at the moment. I am glad to be here and do as much as I can for my mum but I am finding it so difficult. My auntie left today and so it's just me, my stepdad and my mum again. I feel so lonely and isolated not having my OH or any of my friends around me to have a cuddle or drink with. Often nobody to speak to. My heart is breaking and I am very frightened.

I have moved my flight to come back on 30 December now and will come back for my HyFoSy and probably fly back the day after the scan. This was a really hard decision to take and it may well change, depending on circumstances.

Great news from free, so glad you'll be able to relax a bit over Christmas.

Apologies again for lack of personals. I've been on "night watch" the last 3 nights and it's my night off before I do it again tomorrow so I've got to get my head down.

igginezerscrooge · 22/12/2011 23:28

Havingkittens I feel so sorry reading your post, and wish we could have a french meet-up just to give you some company and support.
