A quick iPhone virtual wave from me as about to head back to London. Hope everyone is ok. Snoopy I think brittany at Easter sounds fab! I hope to go home to my parents in spain at Easter too. Last week booked an easyjet sale weekend for dh's bday in may. It is surprise destination for him - but I think it's ok mention as he is not a lurker... Got bargain flights to Pisa for £60 each return! Going to find a hotel in Florence.

Milestone day for me today - last day of steroids!!!

Lotionsandpotions · 22/01/2012 14:22

Hi digi, no, don't put me on the list to test (I did one yesterday, it was negative, but we are going to do the blood test at the clinic tomorrow for completeness). I'm going to lurk on this thread and will be rooting for all of you, but I think as I haven't had any kind of diagnosis with NK yet, I'm a little bit fraudulent! I'm sure I'll see some of you on IVF threads, and I'd really like to say to eurochick IVF has really been nowhere near as difficult as I thought it would be, you can do it! Even with this first cycle failing, it's been overwhelmingly positive as we've learnt so much to give us hope for future tries and we know now that we can cope with it. Only the Pred-related insomnia and enforced rest drove me up the wall and you girls have really helped me with that :) Thanks and au revoir Thanks

duggs1976 · 22/01/2012 16:13

Congrats free you r a "normal" pregnant 2nd trimrster lady x

digitalgirl · 22/01/2012 17:46

What a milestone indeed free!! You'll feel the withdrawal effects for a while, but not having to take them is such an amazing step forward.

lotions bfn aside, good luck with your blood test and do let us know how you get on!

After a totally normal morning and lunch with friends I seemed to have somehow crippled myself by sitting awkwardly on the tube ride home today. Calling up the physio dept tomorrow to get an appointment now my referral has finally come through.

OP posts:
PQ77 · 22/01/2012 19:24

Thanks for updating the list digi - glad you at least got a seat on the tube (that's novel - did someone vacate it for you?) but what a pain you've injured yourself! Good thing your referral has come through.

Thinking of you for your investigation tomorrow duggs - I'll be lurking for a post surgical update. And kittens on tuesday too.

Yes - congrats on 2nd trimester free! hope you sniffed some good wine last night. Bit like sniffing second hand cigarette smoke if you're an ex smoker. I had a g&t last night to recover from the party and I thought it had been MONTHS since I had had a drink and I checked and it was...17 days.

Re our meet up on Saturday - unless anyone else is keen and has been keeping track of who can come, I'm happy to make a booking or grab a table for Saturday. The plan is southbank (near waterloo station) at 1pm. If you pm me that you can come I'll then pm everyone who's interested the venue and my mob number (when you get in touch with me do let me know if you have a preference for where we lunch).

Hi to everyone else. How are you doing snoopy? Af arrived tonight so I am well and truly not pregnant. First time we've ever tried and not conceived (save for the weird one off result last week) so dh has panicked and asked if we did anything wrong. Had to explain that this is quite normal and that every thing else we've been through the last few years is not at all normal!

batteryhen · 22/01/2012 19:58

What a busy weekend on the thread! Sorry about the chemical pregnancies :( I had one a year ago - they are shite.
PQ - I know what you mean about not getting pregnant first time trying. I took 4 months with this one - and we had always fallen quicker than that before - so it was frustrating!
free - Second timester!! Wow - what a lovely milestone.

nothing doing here, lovely weekend, went too quick of course. Just gearing up for my scan on Wednesday

snoopygirl · 22/01/2012 20:37

Hi all,

pq I've got start of AF I think as got light watery blood a moment ago. If it gets heavy in night I'll cancel test, if stays like this will prob go along anyway. Just want to get on with it. Need to go to docs to collect Letrozole anyway. Bit apprehensive about all that palaver.
Went for country park walk today, son was playing with baby down slide and came back and said "Mummy I had such good fun with that baby"! It bought tears to my eyes.
Just thought it's going to be difficult to book any sort of break on the Sup Ov plan as with all the timing/scans/trigger shots it's bound to fall at wrong time!! This has to be priority for me at the moment though.
free 2nd trimester. Ahh bless you darling I;m so pleased for you. I went to florence when young. I remember it was beautiful...very romantic.

Hows it going hopeful and picolina you feeling ok? you are the sucess of the recent bfp's so go for it and give us something to aspire too!!

Good luck duggs hope all goes ok. When do you know results of investigations?

lotions Au revoir et bonne chance!

duggs1976 · 22/01/2012 20:58

Thanks snoopy right afterwards I guess I go in at 7.30am tomorrow so not sure when I go in? Remember super ov chicks . . 85% get PG in 6 mths! So let's get on with it Wink

snoopygirl · 22/01/2012 21:30

Ooh thanks duggs for the hopeful stat before bedtimeSmile. Let us know how you get on x

suemays · 23/01/2012 00:12

#snoopy# I was going to say that your af will arrive within a week but looks like it is already here. At least you can get on TTC again in 2 weeks so have not wasted much time. I know what you mean about a break as we want to go away for my 40th in April. I guess you could TTC naturally that month if it doesn't fit in with your cycle on the superov plan? So sorry that you and #pq# have had to go through this.

#pebbles# I have a 3 year old with no probs in conceiving her as was on honeymoon. Has my first miscarriage in march 2010 and then two more that year. Had tests at st Mary's so we couldn't try for around 6 months whilst waiting for the results and then fell preg and lost it again in aug 2011. Decided to see dr s as was not impressed with st Mary's. Now on the v high killer Cells plan but had a chemical last month. The preds messed my cycles up from the first month of taking them so I stopped ovulating the end of last year hence why now on superov plan. I panicked when realised I was not oving so started looking into ivf. dr s says I don't need it as all 5 pregnancies conceived in 1st or 2nd month but worried about age of eggs etc now!

I can't make next sat as have acupuncture at 2 but happy to do an out of town one again soon?

#digi# I am on 2ww as testing on 1st feb.

#free# well done on getting the first trimester out the way.

picolina123 · 23/01/2012 07:26

hi girls,
i've been trying to keep my mind as busy as poss not thinking about preg, meds etc for the last week. back at work so it was easier. got my first 6 wk scan wed so will see where we are at, never got to the botton of if i should be on intraplids, no one was answering ph and no one returned my messages. sleep is also better but im now going to bed at 8pm and watching documenteries, they are better than hot milk!!

picolina123 · 23/01/2012 07:37

snoopygirl...the pressure!! lol you know i have been so stressed after i found out i was preg and if it will be ok, what are the meds going to do etc etc , there is a lot to worry about and then last week i was thinking about it and i i said to myself if the worst happens i just have to deal.... you know women are so strong and we are good at just that, all of us have gone through so much and yes sometimes you just feel depressed and fed up and why me and then i think we just dust ourselves off and deal with whatever crap comes our way. so now when i start getting anxious i say tomyself , whats the worst that can happen? and then i know ive been through that and come out the otherside so i will just..deal with it. even if it never happens for us and we are never parents , we all have blessings evne though it will be the hardest thing we will ever have to accept ? but lets not cross that bridge until all avenues are been tried. and yes i do give myself pep talking all the time , im very annoying : ) some days it works , others i tell my self to just SHUTUP.

duggs1976 · 23/01/2012 10:10

Hey ladies I'm in my flight socks and gown waiting for my little op! Just met 3 "ladies/ girls" who have had 7, 9 and 8 miscarriages and none of them are even 30! I have been telling them all about dr s . . Drumming up a bit of business for him Wink

freelancegirl · 23/01/2012 11:12

Gosh that's amazing Duggs. Have they not yet gone down the killer womb investigation route? Tell them all to go to Mr S and sat that the Pred Thread sent them :) Hope the op goes ok. Are they putting you under? I do love that flight sock and gown look...

Arianrhod · 23/01/2012 11:37

Morning all ... a big welcome to pebbles, I'm last to say Hi again, bringing up the rear as usual! Sorry you find yourself here, but free has told us good things about you :)

duggs don't you find the socks and gown such an attractive combination?! Hope it all goes well.

snoopy sorry to hear about AF turning up but at least your body seems to be very efficient and getting on with things, that can be a blessing at times.

Woohoo to free for officially making the 2nd trimester, and off the pred too. Unbelievably fabulous, I'm so pleased for you!!

Well I'm now back in the 2WW although curiously unbothered about it this time. I did indeed OV early, confused about that still but going with the flow. Waited to 3DPO today before starting the pred, so hopefully that won't have messed things up, and decided to hold off on the aspirin (stopped taking it a week before OV as it turned out) until either BFP or I stop taking the pred. shrug dunno if any of that will make any difference, but I figured it couldn't hurt.

/waves to everyone, hope you're all starting off your week with plenty of PMA!

ChoccyPud · 23/01/2012 11:38

It's heartbreaking that not enough people know about killer cells. I'd have been at this stage after my first mc had I known a blood test might've helped me stay pg. Hopefully Free's documentary and our self published book of whatever it was we were going to include will help spread the word.

Duggs loving the live report from hospital. Those socks are some kind if look aren't they?! Hope it goes well and is over quickly.

Hello everyone. Hope everyone's ok today. Thinking of those testing and finding out about possible chems... Horrid to be in limbo.

ChoccyPud · 23/01/2012 11:41

Sorry really should refresh before posting... Snoopy sorry about af. Ari fingers crossed. Free can't believe you're off the Pred and properly 2nd trim. So happy!

Arianrhod · 23/01/2012 11:45

Just realised, if the dates in the list are correct, coley has a scan today? Let us know how it goes!

And choccy I know exactly what you mean, it's so sad that not many people seem to know about killer cells, but truthfully it's also really sad that the NHS don't test for this. How many people cannot go private, aren't lucky enough either to be able to find the money or else have insurance, and so don't ever have a chance? How many people would have that chance to have a baby, if the NHS would be more proactive about finding out the cause for miscarriages? Bad enough that you have to wait until 3 miscarriages before the NHS will do anything, but what they do just isn't enough in most cases. Heartbreaking, as you say.

suemays · 23/01/2012 12:38

Sorry meant to say Ari, not Digi!
I also wonder how many women could be spared this tragedy if they knew about killer cells. Plus how many failed IVFs are down to killer cells too?

Arianrhod · 23/01/2012 12:48

And when you consider how costly IVF is .. why aren't ladies going for IVF routinely tested for this before they start the IVF process properly? Ok, I know it adds another £200-ish onto the cost of the IVF treatment, but given that IVF runs into the thousands, I'd say it's worth it?

suemays · 23/01/2012 12:59

It makes you wonder if some clinics would rather take your money than do what is best for you. Anything to do with babies or children seems to be a license to print money!

suemays · 23/01/2012 13:00

Ari when are you testing? I am already getting fed up with the 2ww but have a week to go!
