How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

Thanks for all your good wishes. The good thing is that it's given me that 'what will be will be' attitude this month. Although I'm still charting (I want to see if I ov this month after last month) I'm feeling more relaxed about it. Had a very good SWI last night Blush - all those heightened emotions perhaps?! And although I think it would be lovely and fitting if I did get pg this month, I need to let go a bit.

Mama Thank you. Sorry to hear about your Mum - like me, you've had an eventful old year, and not for good reasons. FX the next 12 months or so are better for us.

GTR Your temps are bound to be high if you've got flu. Hope you feel better soon.

Hope everyone is OK this morning xxxx

GTR2882 · 03/11/2011 08:36

festie Thanks if anyone deserves to get a BFP then it is certainly you after everything that you have been through. Am rooting for you Grin

Yeah i thought as much, have charted that i am ill and will prob discard the temps; most annoying considering I wanted this month to be plain sailing with the temps, especially after I used my thermometor incorrectly for most of last cycle, thought that I could get an accurate reading, but now the flu has completely bamboozled that!! Interesting to see the effect it has on your resting temp though Smile

Oh oggy don't give up!!! Why don't you adopt my stance....trying but not really trying and if it happens then it happens?!?!

festiemum · 03/11/2011 10:43

Aw, thanks GTR Thanks

FWIW, I don't think the fact that your temps during AF are outlying should affect your chart too much. I've noticed when perusing the charts on FF, that a lot of people don't temp at all during AF, and since I started temping vaginally I've worked out why. (yuck!) :o

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/11/2011 10:57

Ding Dong the Witch is dead!!! Let SWI commence :) and finally my cervix is closed (it has been open for a very, very long time!!! Even though I have flu, I might have to engage in some action tonight to celebrate, especially as my fresh supply of pre-seed has arrived Grin

(by the way, this is GTR I have changed my name as did not really like my old one, was a bit boring - this one seems to suit my mood!!) Might even indulge in a glass or 2 of red tonight!!!

Quick query though, with regards to OPKs, I'm on CD6 so when would be the best time to start POAOS? If my cycles are back to being 29 days then I should technically ov on CD15 (not an exact science though, as we are all more than aware!!)

Grin at you temping vaginally festie have you found it to be more accurate?

Rusulka · 03/11/2011 11:47

GTR aka MWSLDD my fingers hate you now I have a clockwork 27/28 day cycle NOT THAT IT BLOODY HELPS! and I usually start POAOS from day 10, since I know I OV on day 14 or 15. If you have internet cheapie tests, I'd start now, then you know you haven't missed anything!

My temps are plummeting faster than Peter Andre's popularity, so I suspect the witch will get me today or tomorrow as expected. Wasn't realistically expecting anything more, given DH's inexplicable inability to ahem, squirt.

festie I too would like to know whether downstairs thermometering works better.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/11/2011 11:52

Sorry Rusulka Blush, am glad that it's only your fingers that have some dislike for me though Grin Need to order some more cheapies, only have the CB digi ones, and tbh they are a little useless as i find it impossible to hold me pee pee for 4 hours, not drink and all the other tom foolery that goes with it!! I usually use them in the morning with my FMU as I know i have held the pee for a substantial amount of time - but might start with them from tomorrow and see how i go (although not expecting a smiley face considering AF has only just buggered off!!)

Sorry that AF seems to be waiting in the wings - maybe next month DH's woo waa will perform better!! Give it a stern talking to Grin

Rusulka · 03/11/2011 12:59

lol at woo waa!

festiemum · 03/11/2011 13:17

Blimey GTR Not sure how to abbreviate you now! Mooley? DingDong?!

I would say day 10-11 for a 29 day cycle too.

I don't know if downstairs thermometering works better (like that phrase Rusulka!) My temps are doing weird stuff this month so far. Here: look at my chart. Don't know what to make of that! Still, it's overall 'trends' and all that bulls**t isn't it? So, we'll see!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/11/2011 13:24

Oooh i like mooley Grin i know, i do apologise, just thought GTR was a bit normal, considering all the names that we have!!

Hmmm you chart is interesting....how long is your cycle (I know i have probably asked a thousand times, i confess, i can't remember) because today's rise seems quite substantial!!!

I am not sure at the so called trends because according to last months chart i didn't ov. And although I know that you can still get a bleed without ov'ing, it is normally lighter and more unusual and there was nothing unusual or light about the witch that has just departed!!!

Rusulka · 03/11/2011 13:32

Festie going on that chart, I'd say you ov'd day 14 or 15.

Here are mine if they help in any way:

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/36a4d6/

Mooley I've given it some serious thought, and it's really more of a doo daa than a woo waa... and regards giving it a talking to, I usually sing it a song before we get started.
DH is going to kill me

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/11/2011 13:50

Grin that is just lovely Grin and has made me smile no end, thank you :) yes i agree, doo daa sounds much better!!

Your charts are lovely too!! Really clear!! I am embarrassed to show mine!! but here goes:

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/36788e

really do not tell me anything!!!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/11/2011 13:51

oooh and the latest one, that's not actually true, I was experimenting with temps to see what would happen and to make sure it would acknowledge ov, need to remember to delete Blush

festiemum · 03/11/2011 14:20

Mooley, my cycle is 29-30 days usually. Last month was only 26 days, but I think that's cos I didn't ov. I usually ov about day 17, so it's imminent, if it isn't happening right now! So maybe my consolatory, grief fuelled, f**king fantastic SWI was well timed!

Rusulka - yours show that overall trend beautifully, and really, looking back to mine, it's too early to tell what's going on without a sustained shift, isn't it?!

Mooley - your last chart looks so epic :( I really hope it all behaves for you this month!

Rusulka · 03/11/2011 14:21

Lol at your fake temps!
Really tempted to cancel my last 2 and show it going up, up and up just to bamboozle it after saying there was no way I could poss. be PG this cycle because of my wanky attempts at SWI.

I like your August one- truly the Bayeux tapestry of temp charts!

festiemum · 03/11/2011 14:22

Oh and how could I forget to comment on you singing to your DH's doo daa, Rusulka?!! Such a lovely image!! :o

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/11/2011 14:29

If i needed the toilet i would have peed my pants i have just laughed that hard Rusulka & Festie

I was going to say Rusulka your temps were verging on triphasic until the epic fall!! Did you temp after a solid 3 hours sleep, no moving etc etc?? see what they are doing in the morning! When is the witch due to swoop in and ruin it all? And you had a lovely dip at 9DPO!!! Hmmm, something is not right!! When did you SWI? Confused

iloveberries · 03/11/2011 14:39

Ilanthe - I would go out and let your hair down. I know it's not what you want to hear but if you are late and getting BFNs then that bitch AF will prob arrive soon....

Hi Maisie - you can get EWCM just before your AF, i often get some about 5 days before so maybe it's that. I also think i have a short LP BUT my GP says it is VERY VERY rare for women to have an LP so short they can't hold a pregnancy. I am also TTC #2 so i know it is (or was) possible once! Good luck.

Loulou! welcome to your CBFM!!! I started using mine on day 2. You will see that you pick a time with a 3 hour window for POAS either side and if your AF arrives after this you start using it the next day which is really day 2 but you set it as day 1. I have all my TTC stuff in a small box by the bed and as i usually POAS around 5am i make sure i leave it all out before i go to bed so i'm not crashing round the bedroom in the dark! Also, if you are like me and can't make it through the night without peeing then you can pee in a pot at a time in your window (i.e. 5am ish for me!) and then test it later (as long as it's still in your window). Someone had told me the hormones in wee decrease if it's left out but the CBFM helpline says it's fine... so that's good enough for me! I am on CD14 today so we may well sync next month (although i am REALLY hoping that i manage to get pg this month... )

catch you later xx

Rusulka · 03/11/2011 16:35

Ah, Mooley. I'm afraid SWI on days 5, 22 & 25 is not considered useful! We were banging away for at least 3 days during the fertile time, but with no ta-dah, couldn't really count it...

Besides which, the witch got me earlier while my new front door was being fitted (timing).

Onwards to a new cycle with SWIEOD but no FDHOWTOT&M (see if you can work it out!)

Festie I sing the same song, with variations in the verses. If foreplay doesn't work, that usually does the trick (I make it do a little dance too, with movements accompanying said song).

Should have been a puppeteer!

If this thread (or series of) has taught me anything, it's that it doesn't matter how much CM you have, or what your cycle length is like, or how many times you stick thermometers in your orifices, for some of us, it's just bloody difficult to conceive.

My top tip for this next cycle is going to be visualisation. After every session, I will visualise the sperm swimming up, burrowing in, light shining out in a cool big bang kind of way, and then said eggy-weg rolling out of my fallopians like some sort of slow-mo pinball game, bouncing into womb and burrowing deep. I figure I have to believe it to see it.

New TV program idea! Paul McKenna: I Can Make You Pregnant.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/11/2011 16:42

Rusulka, I'll be honest, your FDHOWTOT&M acronym has completely lost me, I am assuming it;s something to do with DH, possibly!!!! I am also intrigued about this song. Is it something you have penned yourself? Or a re-make of something well known? Hmm

I completely agree with the it's just bloody difficult to conceive; still can't understand why most people either didn't know they were pg, pretend they weren't really trying (yeah, right!!) or are just so fertile, they just have to look at a the egg and it's implanted!!!

I would join that programme Grin

Just been for a rummage (ah, let the obsession begin) and it turns out that the witch has actually not vacated yet! God damn her!! I think she's trying to claim squatters rights, well she can bloody well bugger off!!!! It's been almost a week - this is not on!!!

Rusulka · 03/11/2011 16:42

...and if you have trouble visualising, I have just the thing...

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/11/2011 16:53

i think that might be one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen!!!

Still not sure on the acronym but i get the gist Grin

Rusulka · 03/11/2011 17:08

Freaking DH Out With Tales Of Temping & Mucus... :D

Discolite · 03/11/2011 18:24

Hello everyone! I posted on the old thread aaages ago with my sad tale of cold induced non-ovulation, then managed to ovulate but then AF arrived 3 days early, on CD 50 which means I have some understanding of your mentally long cycles Mooley. So I'm moving onto cycle number 5 of trying, still amazed it's taking so long (although I know it can get a lot, lot worse than just five cycles) and I've worked out that if I ovulate on CD 17 (which has happened once before) then I'd sneak in with a due date of July 31st. I thought I'd rejoin the bus after getting all despondent earlier on.

I'm not a big fan of having a turtle as I can only tell the difference when my cervix is hard or soft, the position and opening really don't seem that obvious to me. I'm also giving up on the OPKs as I find they make me too stressed. I do like temping though. This cycle is going to be Operation Calm as I think the obsessiveness hasn't helped me conceive. I may also try your visualisation technique Rusulka!

Anyway, congrats to all the BFPs and my condolences Festie.

right ladies this might seem a bit whacky but i am going to write it anyway!! Basically i know I am not pg since the wicked witch has almost departed....but i am having something really strange happen, i will list these anomalies:

  1. I have had the most dreadful flu, which has almost gone lasted a grand total of a day!! (not surprising considering the weather though)
  2. Have had a headache for the last 3/4 days (although i do sometimes suffer with tension headaches)
  3. feel really tired, to the point where my eyes are sore
  4. was having a quiet drink tonight, firstly my beer tasted really really alcoholic and secondly, I feel a bit tipsy after 2 pints (i normally can handle 4/5) so most unusual for me
  5. have been a bit more emotional than usual (again, prob a symptom of af)

i know this is completely ridiculous but in the back of my head i can't help but hear this little voice saying "maybe......just maybe!!"

Anyway.....like i said completely ridiculous!

rusulka love the acronym!!!

Discolite sorry for AF but glad to have you back on board :)
