How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

Oh festie so sorry to hear the news about your dad Thanks sending my deepest condolences and sympathies to you and your family! Hope that you remain strong and get through this sad and hard time. Will be thinking of you.

Mama5 i am thinking of you too during this sad time as well!!! Thanks

Think I agree with what people are saying; might stop trying trying to conceive and go with the flow and see what happens. Have flu at the moment so not really up for much SWI, witch has all but gone so will get on with turtling from tomorrow perhaps.

Grin at Rusulka and getting your DH to do some turtling, fantastic! Mine would run a mile at the mere thought of it!!!

Notinmykitchen · 02/11/2011 12:24

Hello all,

Still waiting for AF to bugger off, bored of waiting now and want to get cracking again!

Glimpers and the turtle, welcome!

Puzzle, glad to hear things have settled down again,

Rusulka I would definitely agree with not telling DH too much. Made me laugh, and cringe a bit at the idea of your DH having a 'turtle' I am ashamed to admit I am a bit squeamish about the whole CM and CP checking. I clearly have no dedication to the cause! Grin

GTR definitely don't give up. I was told by a chap at work who had triplets that a lack of money was never a reason not to try. I figure if he thought that after bringing up 3 with no money, he must have a point!

Festie, so sorry about your Dad!

Good luck to all those waiting to test. Fingers crossed for a couple more BFP's

iloveberries · 02/11/2011 12:37

festie so so sorry to hear about your dad. Sending lots of hugs and thinking of you going through a rough time xx

iloveberries · 02/11/2011 12:38

loulou hello love, welcome back! Clearly i hadn't read page 2 of the new thread before posting. Glad you had a great weekend... nice to hear from you again.

xx

Glimpers · 02/11/2011 12:52

GTR after telling my DH about my turtling he did offer to have a look with his head torch... Grin although I suspect if I had actually taken him up on his offer he would have run away very quickly!!!

Rusulka · 02/11/2011 16:53

Sorry to hear about your news Festie. Thanks
If he was as ill as he sounded then at least be comforted that he isn't suffering any more.

Regarding the turtling, ahem. I HATE doing it! I'm terrified that every time I stick my fingers up there, I'll scrape big holes in my hoo-ha with my fingernails, and then when I poke too far I get cramps, then think "Oh no! What did I do? Hope it's not permanent!" Was trying to explain to DH what it was supposed to feel like and stuff and it was clearly going straight over the poor thing's head, so I said "You know what, you try!" Bless him, he had a go.

PS GTR I also want 3!
Had this great idea that twins would be like buy one get one free with regard to labour, too...

Liliana1 · 02/11/2011 17:56

Festie so sorry about your dad, take care Thanks

I'm on cd 14 today and had cramps so think I am poss ov'ing, just waiting for DH to get home so I can jump him!!

Not sure about asking DH to go turtling - he's a dairy farmer and will prob pull on his arm length orange gloves and dive in. Am getting somewhat fed up with being compared to a cow! Hmm (in regards to ttc before anyone tells me to leave him Wink)

oggy24 · 02/11/2011 17:56

Here's a question for you all...

Is turtling made more difficult by being big? I am quite the large lady and if I feel up there for CP it all just feels like moosh!! I can't pick out any one piece. I have tried squatting and all sorts!

Help me, oh Temple of Turtlers!

Liliana1 · 02/11/2011 17:58

Also on the cp checking front, I get scared of squashing any spermies that might be destined to meet an egg and ruining everything!

iloveberries · 02/11/2011 18:14

i don't do the CP checking either...... just doesn't feel right to fiddle around there without any fun.......

plenty of other methods for me.

LouLou - can we be CBFM buddies??!!

GTR2882 · 02/11/2011 18:24

oggy I don't think that it should matter tbh!! Have you tried checking on the toilet? That's how I do it!! Although it's only good for determining ov so I am going to refrain from checking once I have ov'd.

Liliana I never check after SWI because I don't want to get the semen confused for EWCM!!! I always leave it at least 24 hours, sometimes longer!!

Rusulka I too think twins would be a great idea, killing two birds with one stone and all that!! Plus then I would only need to have one more after that Grin might have to will the ovaries to produce 2 eggies instead of one :)

nearlymumofone · 02/11/2011 18:33

Hello- Just wanted to pop by to say congrats all the BFPs that have come in!

I've not been about as was getting a bit obsessed with ttc last month, stressed and found that MN was (although you are of course lovely) making me worse as I spent all my time on here obsessing!! So I'm taking a bit of a break from MN (for my sanity), I will still pop by the odd time to see how you're all getting on and hope we get more BFPs. I'll be taking a back seat though I'm afraid xxx

Maisie55 · 02/11/2011 18:45

Hi all, phew found you!!

Festie I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope you are getting through ok, it must be a very difficult time for you.

Rambling question interspersed with potentially TMI!

My cycles have been getting longer each time, last cycle was 38 days from first day of AF to day before next AF. I am currently on CD31. Noticed EWCM from last sunday (10 days ago) so ramped up the SWI to as much as we could fit in (not quite every day) and it has reduced down to hardly anything and then today loads of the stuff!! If I haven't ov'd yet then I must have a really short LP as potentially only 8 or 9 days of cycle left. I have DS already so implantation must be possible with whatever my LP is as its happened once and I understand the length of the LP doesn't change. Will SWI tonight and prob just carry on until AF signs or will give myself until CD 41 before testing I think. Any thoughts as to the strange occurrence of the EWCM? would it still be there post ov? how long for?

Thanks all!!

Deafworm · 02/11/2011 19:04

I lost you all Blush

Congratulations on the bfps, how has everyone's day been? We are just entering the tww here, fingers crossed impatiently, nearly ready for my lovely weekend away where I can forget ttc, uni coursework and in law arguments and just eat my own bodyweight in cake chill and enjoy a lovely cake exhibition

Ilanthe · 02/11/2011 19:36

BFN this morning. I'm more frustrated than disappointed I would like to know where the bloody hell my period is if I'm not pregnant, for two reasons:-

a) I'm supposed to be having my hysteroscopy and cervical cautery on Monday, if I'm not updiffed and I'd like to get it over with if I'm going to have it this side of a pregnancy.
b) I have been invited out on a massive piss up on Friday night. Happy to not drink, but will be pissed off if I stay sober and my period arrives on Saturday morning.

Plus I still have a load of symptoms, which could be PMT or pregnancy.

I've bought a couple of more sensitive tests (4 days pre period rather than day period is due) and will test again in the morning.

Signet2012 · 02/11/2011 19:45

GTR Dont give up! Im still kicking about as well!

Can I be added to stats please! Af due around 24th Nov !!

Fingers crossed and not much else Ladies!!!

louloubellamozzarella · 02/11/2011 20:28

Festie - so sorry for your loss. Hope you pull through ok. Keep talking to us, if you feel like it Brew

Hi berries pal :) nice to be back, and back in the game. I got my CBFM finally tonight - picked up from post office.. I think I am oving - erm - around now if EWCM yesterday is anything to go by so I think I'm late for this month?! Haven't read instructions yet - will do later. DP is intrigued by the new gadget so I might delegate it to him! Any tips you've picked up from using it would be fab - oh and what CD did you start on it?

Oh and I will not allow you off this flight GTR me ol mucker! By all means relax about TTC and maybe ease off the charting etc. But pleeeasse hang around or we'll fall apart without your CM/CP/SS expertise and lovely presence.

In all seriousness though, don't let this TTC lark get you down too much. Don't lose sight of enjoying the present by jumping ahead to what you want in the future - it will come I promise :) Oh and if you have flu, I wouldn't be thinking about SWI at all - it's all about the PJs, tea and crappy TV Brew to you too.

Hi deafworm glad you found us! I too got a little confused!

Maisie I think you can get EWCM after ov for a few days. I have this but it's thinner and clearer than the stuff I get before/around oving - less gloopy!

Ilanthe - hope you get your result SOON! Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

I'm another one who's a bit squeamish about the CP checking - CM I'm fine with but CP for some reason I don't like doing - plus I've never felt that much difference - tho I've probably not done it enough! Oh and I'm also in the 'aiming for three' club - if I ever get as far as one bean that is. Been seeing lots of an eight month preggers colleague this week - arrghhh soooo brooooody!!

Liliana1 · 02/11/2011 21:55

Sorry oggy, I've got no idea but have never got the hang of turtling. Like Loulou I've prob just not done it enough but do feel a bit weird about it, not sure why as I've done everything else.

Ilanthe I've got all my fingers and toes crossed for you. Hope you find out either way before Friday. I mourn the missed drunk evenings as I might have been pg. Now decided as long as I don't get plastered too drunk it won't hurt too much, there are lots of people who get drunk before they knew.

Have added you Signet, sorry don't know all your stats, hope i got it right

Festie- im very very sorry for your loss!
I know how very painful it is to lose someone you love, trust me it was my late mums bday on Monday and I was quite upset! I think the combination of the date, childloss and not being pregnant really got me down!
I'm taking the relaxed method this month because I don't need the stress! And taking the" if I am, I am" stance!
With move my son is not sleeping well and ends up in bed with us which don't help Swi eod method!
Still no Internet so pls can someone change my stats to recent stats! I'm still showing oct and not November!
Big wave to GTR - hold on in there! Let's end this together! I understand this ttc really grinds you down, hold on to hope!
Turtle??????? Lol xxx

Still feeling mega crap here!! AF taking its sweet time to leave think this flu is affecting my temps as they have been mega high the last two days and I know it can't be related to ov just yet!! Any thoughts??

I am firmly staying put all your wise words of wisdom, plus a severe chastising from DH, have shown me the light!! It's not all bad, is it!! Think of all the SWI I get to have Wink

oggy24 · 03/11/2011 07:55

Hi GTR I should think that the flu is definitely affecting your temps. Mine was up for a good few days last week - though it was quite a spike so I could tell it was out of the ordinary.

Liking my CBFM a bit more this month. Last month got expensive as it was asking me to POAOS nearly every day throughout my cycle. It seems to have learnt now though. I'm on CD8 and not been asked to yet.

I have also been umming and ahhing about taking a step back from TTC for a while. My husband will be in his final year of uni next year (mature student, mind!). And we are now looking at buying a 2nd house to do up - more of a family home. Right now would probably be the most 'inconvenient' time to TTC. So, for that reason, I'm hoping it works!! ;)
