Welcome across Rat Smackers! Glad you found the place okay. This is THE MONTH when we get those deceitful pee sticks to own up to the BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS - we are all already preggers! After all; positive people get positive pee sticks!

I hope you all like what I've done with our new home

You'll note the updated title, courtesy of farfalla. Various healthy snacks have been set out on the coffee tables, to ensure our bumps are receiving the appropriate nutritional balance

Also, my personal favourite adjustment, you'll note the strategically positioned peephole, right here, providing us with a sneaky preview of the utopian delights awaiting us in the NO BROOKING vomitorium ante-natal thread.

So let's get to it preggos! Remember: see a rat - smack it!

i believe that my ramekins are not just any ramekins, but M&S crème brûlée ramekins. I'm sure this will help.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 06/08/2011 21:20

Definitely Jaggy! M&S just do everything better when it comes to food!

Well it turns out there was a rat lurking in my bedroom this eve, but don't worry DH and I smacked that rat so hard it saw stars! Wink We'll be keeping an eye out for more rats to smack tom!

Where is Maybe? (Apologies if I'm forgetting a holiday or something, I'm hopeless at keeping track!)

OP posts:
havealittlefaithbaby · 06/08/2011 21:22

maybe is away I think.

dreamfeeder · 06/08/2011 22:41

yeah, maybe has bogged off down to devon on holiday. still no excuse, there's t'internet in devon (says she going on hol on 28th where there is definitely no internet in the cottage!!!)

well, i have a Le Creuset ramekin which was part of a wedding present. And I have a Gu ramekin. Now my question is, which one should I choose for upping my chances of a BFP?! (nb- the le creuset ramekin remains unused- what am i meant to cook in a ramekin with limited skills?!?)

dreamfeeder · 06/08/2011 22:43

little, evil af witch.... bad news. I'd have become a negative lurker for far longer than you which means your overwhelmingly positive-on-the-whole attitude means this will be a rat-smacking month!!!! i hope the b6 and b vitamin complex does the trick. At least you KNOW thats the problem now, so better chance???

havealittlefaithbaby · 06/08/2011 23:00

dream I only use ramekins for dips, we have 5 so one is a pee pot from now on. Got it on honeymoon so rather poetic no? Ps I can cook meals but nor dessert!

dreamfeeder · 06/08/2011 23:08

have, i can (just) follow a recipe, and do my slow cooker. Desserts- if they are dead easy- crumble and easy-peasy muffins. that's it.

dreamfeeder · 06/08/2011 23:08

and i never thought of beautifully presented dips, clearly not the most housewifely...

dreamfeeder · 06/08/2011 23:12

and that doesn't answer the le creuset versus Gu ramekin!!!!!!!??????

Jebel · 07/08/2011 08:46

What a delightful use of ramekins. I think my DH who is the chef might have a heart attack about it, he is a prude at the best of times.

13DPO and not a symptom of anything, even the spots are gone - ah, I am glowing that is why, blooming marvellous. I have no sense at all that AF is on its way so I must be updiffed, usually by this stage in my cycle I am hot flushing and have tender boobs.

Who else is testing for confirmation of what they already know?

Imps7 · 07/08/2011 09:01

Oooh I made a lovely vanilla panna cotta with red berry compote in my ramekins the last time I used them for food. It almost feels wrong to wee in them, almost as if I am insulting them by filling them with urine rather than tasty treats, but they are the perfect width and height for dipping that stick. Dreamfeeder - I reckon Le Creuset if you want a girl, Gu if you want a boy. I'm pretty sure I read some medical reports on this somewhere that proved that theory.

Little glad you're back and feeling more positive - positivity is a classic symptom!! This is so your month!

I hope that Maybe is having a lovely time and also hope that she got her answer one way or the other - WTF cycles are a nightmare.

Scream, apparently the word on the rat street is to stay well away from the Scream household otherwise they will not get out alive. Good work you two.

There's STILL 10-11 days until Ov day. What is the point of this boring bit of the cycle?? Feeling very sick this morning though - deffo morning sickness.

havealittlefaithbaby · 07/08/2011 09:52

Tested this morning, bfn. Clearly it was because the pee stick was a poundland and stupid. Af not technically due til Wednesday according to Futility Fiend. Now only have a cbd left in house. Tempted to get some cheapo tests from Tesco.

dreamfeeder · 07/08/2011 10:26

oh have, that cheating, lying pee stick!!! BROOK NO ARGUMENT with the CBD on Wednesday. Early to test so could have been a false negative?

Earlier this month I had millions of spots on my neck- which i never had even in puberty- what's going on there? I am taking it as a sign this month is my month as opposed to my hormones are still up in the air with the bf and v recent return of af and all...

So, I have no symptoms, and may or may not have ov a couple of days ago. Or possibly even a week ago. Who knows. I drank a lot of yummy Magners pear cider last night, had made nice dinner as was my dad's birthday, and got beaten at articulate becasue my dh (playing with my dad) CHEATED! What's the point in playing games if you cheat to win???? scumbag!! He says it was such an obvious cheat that if we didn't notice it was fair play?!? but i'm not expecting to see people getting rid of cards they can't do.... But anyway th point was, a LOT of cider, = i will def be knocked up Grin

jebel, the blooming is indeed a definite sign. Bring on the positive pee stick. my dh wouldn't bat an eyelid- he'd come out with 'well, urine's sterile unless you've got an infection, it'll be fine!' must be nice meals in the jebel household, mmm...

imps, i wish i could make a lovely vanilla panna cotta with red berry compote... sounds delicious! Full points for your hostess-with-the-mostess skills Grin I am glad you know about that medical evidence, in that case I shall use a Le Creuset ramekin for this BFP as my DD is adorable and i'd love another, and then the Gu for my third pregnancy which will happen despite dh's reluctance and complete my family with a little boy Grin. and there is no point in this bit of the cycle except to give you a nice break from DTD Wink

thelittlefriend · 07/08/2011 13:00

Oh dear I think my ramekins are from Wilkos. I don't think I want to know what kind of baby that's going to get me!

Have, are you waiting til Weds to test again? Some of those Amazon ultra sensitive cheapies would be with you by then if you ordered now. Though, you'll be so very pregnant by then any old stick will do Smile

havealittlefaithbaby · 07/08/2011 13:18

I dunno I'm spotting now. Anticipate af soon. Probably will order some Amazon but sorry sorry struggling to brook no argument don't expect to need them til next month.

thelittlefriend · 07/08/2011 13:21

ahh have, I'm sorry to hear that. If today turns out to be CD1 then you're more than entitled to have a day off and start brooking no argument tomorrow.

dreamfeeder · 07/08/2011 13:28

oooh, little, wilko's ramekins Buy yourself some Gu!!!

have, sad news, we were all dancing on tables with poms poms and cheering you on to your bfp... This month you will Brook No Argument, but maybe not today unless the spotting comes to nothing and you get a bfp on wed

DD is driving me crackers, as ALL she wants to do is hold hands and practice her walking, that's it. She may be persuaded to read a book for a few minutes but thats about it. I am becoming a hunchback, faster than I thought possible.... And the blooming child can do about 15-20 steps by herself but today wants to hold not one hand but 2- learn to walk child, you're killing me!!!! Hence v bad timing to get knocked up, no???

jaggythistle · 07/08/2011 13:46

terrible timing dreamfeeder, you'll be soooo tired :)

The holding hands walking thing went on quite a while for us, surprised we didn't require medical attention. I used to come home and find DS taking DH a walk up and down the street when I got in!

sorry have, hope AF does stay away though.

jenfraggle · 07/08/2011 16:12

Hi everyone. It feels lovely to be here amongst all you lovely deffo preggers people. I hope to be able to pick up some second hand cheerleading gear as I know all of you are pg and won't need it anymore. Currently on cd22 but we only started this week so have probably missed it this month

havealittlefaithbaby · 07/08/2011 16:25

Welcome Jenfraggle have a brownie. I'm sure you're already pregnant.
I've been shopping and feel much more Grin . Chose a nice blind for our new kitchen and got lots of yummy gf good (mm fake cornish pasties and pizza).
I've decided I'm not really spotting can only see it when I have a root around only slightly discoloured when I wipe. Clearly not enough to class this as cd1. Obviously just the bean getting settled.

dreamfeeder · 07/08/2011 17:21

Hello jenfraggle, pick up a ramekin ad join us in our bfp's!! you never know, there's plenty of late ovulators on this thread (maybe me?!)

glad you're feeling better have, you're not out of the running this month yet!! i bled at 5 weeks with DD and she was fine Smile. i also need a nice kitchen blind...

jaggy, don't, it's depressing, that is my life.... DD holds my finger and tootles round all day. I now know more people in our village (we've lived here 9 months) than i have anywhere else i've ever lived... she's skipped the crawling part so totally dependent on me for her mobility and after her first few steps 2 weeks ago i was so optimistic the end was in sight but 2 weeks on, it isn't...... bah...

jenfraggle · 07/08/2011 17:28

Thanks for the welcome have. Of course it is not AF, she wouldn't be so rude as to appear

dreamfeeder · 07/08/2011 19:31

Hey, a sign- today i managed to skim at least 10 stones at the river- a skill I have unsuccessfully been trying to acquire for the last 3-4 years, all with a sleeping baby in an ergo baby carrier without waking her up. A positive sign for a positive pee stick, yes?!
AND this afternoon the baby had a walking breakthrough and can change direction, stop and start and generally showing mild signs of improvement, all to conicide with running after a nearly-11-month old in early pregnancy exhaustion stage!!!
2 signs this is my month!!!! or just i'm completely barking and conjuring meaning out of everyday events

come on have we need an update, can barely settle back on the sofas in here and enjoy the baking for the anticipation of your update!!

GenericDietCola · 07/08/2011 20:26

I'm back! I missed you all and couldn't wait to get the laptop on and find out if have had got her bfp yet. Bugger, I see you got a bfn, but it is early to be testing and I'm sure the slight spotting is bean settling in like you say. BFP on Wednesday and we are brooking no argument!

Dream stone skimming = preggo! Your DD sounds cute learning to walk. My DD walked about that age too, but she seemed to do several steps on her own a few times before one day she decided she could do it and stopped crawling altogether and walked everywhere!

Jebel! When are you confirming?

Hello everyone else and the new preggos!

Had a lovely weekend with dsis, bil and 2 dnephews. My littlest nephew is 3 months old so I sneaked in lots of head sniffing (for the hormones) and some lovely cuddles. I could almost feel minicola kicking, so potent was The Power of The Newborn.

havealittlefaithbaby · 07/08/2011 20:34

Update is....nothing! Zilch. No idea what's going on....shall order some tests from Amazon cos I'll be needing lots to.confirm on Wednesday.
My blind was from Dunelm mill. It is "cafe style" Hmm. Anyway nice silver/grey to complement blue kitchen with a chrome bar at the bottom.
