Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

We are all jolly well going to get preggers this month in a nonchalant non-psycho way, and hang onto it, and there will be no brooking of any argument whatsoever!

Welcome across Rat Smackers! Glad you found the place okay. This is THE MONTH when we get those deceitful pee sticks to own up to the BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS - we are all already preggers! After all; positive people get positive pee sticks!

I hope you all like what I've done with our new home

You'll note the updated title, courtesy of farfalla. Various healthy snacks have been set out on the coffee tables, to ensure our bumps are receiving the appropriate nutritional balance

Also, my personal favourite adjustment, you'll note the strategically positioned peephole, right here, providing us with a sneaky preview of the utopian delights awaiting us in the NO BROOKING vomitorium ante-natal thread.

So let's get to it preggos! Remember: see a rat - smack it!

and little, are you still lurking in the corner?? . Surely you will also be in the BFP line-up as your fanny cam helpfully told you you were laying an egg. That Rat is smacked, no worries.

dreamfeeder · 05/08/2011 10:49

and also, i am continually still confused. having never had a cycle longer than 34 days, i seem to be having if not egg white, then more possibly-fertility-indicating cm now.... on cd 21... surely it can't be now? shall have to jump DH tonight just in case now..

scarletfingernail · 05/08/2011 11:01

dream I guess it is possible. If this cycle is to be 34 days again and you ovulate on day 21 that would still give you a 13 day luteal phase so is very possible. It's so hard to work out when you have erratic cycle lengths isn't it.

I'd be really struggling without my CBFM. When I didn't use it last month, my period decided to come 6 days late which meant that I was probably SWI almost a week early (going on the assumption that I would have also ov'd late). I don't always get ewcm so the CBFM is a godsend for me. Speaking of which, this morning it's dropped from peak to high fertility so I'm guessing my golden egg has been laid. (Will probably go on another rat hunt tonight just to make sure we've not missed it).

scarletfingernail · 05/08/2011 11:03

Errr, some of you have some very odd dreams. I've forgotten mine by the time I wake up. (Apart from extremely weird one I had a few months ago which involved a lot of SWI and Johnny Rotten. Gah, I wish I could erase that one from my memory)

dreamfeeder · 05/08/2011 11:12

scarlett, I reckon you've probably already got it nailed already but a security-shag as generic would say, never goes amiss!!!

Right. I shall TELL dh we will be rat hunting yet again tonight...

dreamfeeder · 05/08/2011 11:17

oh, scarlett, i just googled the CBFM. Loving the look of it, maybe i'll invest if i don't get knocked up this month!! and it's all very 'nice'. No shagging/sexual intercourse or other such nonsense with CBFM (and certainly no security shagging). it's all about the making love. How lovely.

And i usually forget my dreams. except the ones I wish i could!!

scarletfingernail · 05/08/2011 11:52

dream you will not need to invest. You are knocked up already (who says you've got to ovulate first?)

Yes, it does describe SWI as making love. Although that is not how it could be described in our house this week.

SFN "I really can't be arsed tonight, can I just lay here and you just stick it in?"

DH "Um, well it would be nice if you contributed a little bit more than that, but we can make it a quickie, I've got to be up at 6"

Shock Blush Grin

dreamfeeder · 05/08/2011 16:30

This is true, i will most certainly get a BFP this month.

and lol, i would say we equalled you on that level of romance. Making love has not occured in the last week!!!!!

DF: can you hurry up and come and shag me, i'm tired and i want to go to bed
DH:, err not really i'm watching a dvd
DF: no, i'm telling, not asking, i could be ovulating
DH: oh for goodness sake, it better be quick, i've pressed pause on my dvd now....

scarletfingernail · 05/08/2011 16:32

Grin dream I'm sitting here chucking away at the romantic lives we both lead.

scarletfingernail · 05/08/2011 16:33

Ooops, meant chuckling of course. Not chucking Grin

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 05/08/2011 17:35

Lol! Loving the romance! The egg hunt starts tonight for me, so I will be soon be adding to your stories of intimate romantic moments!

I'm having a down day, can I have some encouragement please? It's obviously my pregnancy hormones going haywire right?!

Biscuitsandtea · 05/08/2011 18:16

Give us a 'H'......

Seriously though, sorry to see you're having a down day. You're in the 2ww aren't you? It is an unbelievable form of torture that just plays havoc with every aspect of you, not just the ttc bit. Can you do something nice this evening to try and take your mind of whatever is getting you down? takeaway and a movie or something? Even a glass of wine mineral water?

Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? xx

dreamfeeder · 05/08/2011 18:22

err. my computer seems to have deleted a load of messages from the end of this thread and/or gone back in time???? oh crisis, i could be missing out on all kinds of info!!

havealittlefaithbaby · 05/08/2011 18:28

Ah yes indeed throwing caution to the wind, DH and I have a bottle of wine in the fridge, steak to grill and chocolatino ice cream for pud :)
Yes I'm nearing the end of tww. Things are crazy and up in the air at work. Getting my bfp this weekend next week will be worst possible timing because I'll be interviewing for a one year contract about six weeks pregnant....seriously, TIMING COULD NOT BE WORSE. Grin

dreamfeeder · 05/08/2011 18:30

Fixed it with the old off/on failsafe!!!

Have, the 2ww is torturous, especially when you have Blindingly Obviously preggers symptoms but then the doubt creeps in and you don't think you can cope with a BFN don't worry, go for the dvd and takeaway option, and hopefully by wednesday you will have your BFP and will be cheering the rest of us on!!!

scream, regale us with your romantic rat-hunting tales, we love a bit of romance on this thread Wink

Biscuitsandtea · 05/08/2011 18:35

Are you listening Fate? Are you being tempted? Timing for Have COULD NOT BE WORSE....

Nudge nudge Wink

Good luck with the interview though :)

dreamfeeder · 05/08/2011 19:50

oh, have, that's just perfect, a bit of timing COULD NOT BE WORSE will tip the balance well in the favour of your bfp Grin. Your evening sounds wonderful.... I have already pissed DH off (he's only been home 15 min), re-heated lasagne for dinner, no wine, but some chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert.

glad to see you've survived the camping biscuits, what is the state of your poor eardrums though from the snoring-like-a-train?! Very blooming indeed you're looking tonight

Biscuitsandtea · 05/08/2011 19:58

DH thought the snoring recording was hilarious Grin. Down side is I'll never be able to moan about his snoring again :( I think the most annoying thing was that at least when DH snores he gets a sharp poke in the ribs - my mum seemed to be either oblivious or maybe unconscious? I was willing her to wake up and complain or kick him Grin. The following morning when DS was awake (at 5:30 yawn) and my Dad was snoring he kept giggling at the noise and saying 'what's that noise?' ha ha ha

Also Dream I think DH would count himself lucky for getting reheated lasagne and chocolate cake for tea. Don't sell yourself short Wink. Sounds like you and DH need to have a chilled out evening like the Have household. Perhaps you could have a virtual double date?

dreamfeeder · 05/08/2011 20:47

true biscuits, he's not had pizza and chips bunged at him again

now, to get the swi in now, or after the 'relaxing' part of the evening!!! I wish i knew if this was ov or if it was ages ago and i can forget about it...

where's farfalla today? Hoping your DH is feeling more chilled with 2 days off to look forward to- what does the shag dictator say?! are you having a convenient weekend ov???

jaggythistle · 05/08/2011 21:07

another romantic tale here. Grin

got turned down for the nap time SWI, told DH I'd be pouncing as soon as DS was in bed. he took me quite literally, however it wasn't especially romantic with DS shouting 'muuummmy' down the monitor at one point. Blush clearly not that sleepy then. now reclined on the sofa with my glass of wine.

the things we do...

oh can't believe I've been on this thread for weeks and not told you how it would be the Worst Possible Timing to get pg in the next couple of months.

i am going to a wedding soon and not only that, it's Abroad! so i really need to be able to drink lots of some wine to improve my language skills. :)

dreamfeeder · 05/08/2011 21:12

jaggy, how could you forget about the Bad Timing fate-tempter?! Thats a guaranteed BFP for you this month or next!!!!

right, off to jump seduce DH, wish me luck!!!

scarletfingernail · 05/08/2011 21:20

jaggy I'd love to go to a wedding abroad. How pregnant will you be by then?

Hope you're feeling a little better have

I think the shagathon is over here. I thought we might sneak another one in tonight but DH got home from work late and has gone out for a few beers. When he went out Wednesday night he came home for 10.30 knowing he had duties to perfom bless him. But I've got no chance tonight, he's only just gone out and I get the impression it's going to be a late one and there's no way I'm shagging him when he's pissed and I'm sober I can stay awake.

Fingers crossed the rat has already been smacked.

jaggythistle · 05/08/2011 21:37

oh, as I will be getting that bfp in a couple of weeks...that'll make me maybe 3 months pg at the wedding. Grin

I've known about the wedding for months and months, i actually imagined myself being very pregnant by then when i first heard. :( sorry for that wee thought getting out there.

positive people get positive pee sticks!
