Anyone using Persona to Conceive this month ?

That's it really. I'm CD 6, having red days, planning my BD-ing & wandering if anyone else is in the same boat as me...?

Hocuspocus,

Would not use Persona or any other OPK's at all in your circumstances. Many PCOSers have an excess of LH (luteinising hormone) in their bloodstream. If you were to use such kits the kit would measure this excess.

Also with PCOS the chances are you are not ovulating regularly if at all.

With PCOS it may be of your benefit to see a gynae if you are not under the care of such a person already.

Haven't posted for a bit. I'm now on my third month of persona but have only really started to properly TTC. Last month I didn't get the egg symbol (think I posted about this before)and only 4/5 green days during my period. I'm almost sure I oved (I temp too) and it looks like it's going that way this month too,I'm on cycle day 13 and have two tests left (usually oving day 15/16)
I'm wondering about whether I am wetting the stick too much.I think this was mentioned on the thread before. I will go down and read again but wondered how poeple wet their stick ,
Do you wee in pot and then dip or point and wee?? very graphic I know LOL!!

Peachygirl - I collect & dip find it much easier haven't got very good aim .

I'm on CD12 and have not got egg sign yet. Haven't had sign for past 2 months, but I think I was over wetting the stick as I didn't know this could affect results. This month I am trying to stick to 3 seconds exactly. I'm also looking out for lines on the stick, which other people on this thread have mentioned, so that if I don't get egg sign then I'll hopefully still know when I'm ovulating. Will maybe start weeing in a pot next month if I don't get egg sign (or BFP!) this month

Hi all,

Glad to see some movement on here. I was feeling very sad wondering why I was the only one on.

I pee in a pot. My aim is awful. Plus I pressed the M at a silly time this month without realising the time so I have to pee in a pot and save it for later (lovely !!!) Quite tricky at the weekend as DH still doesn't know I have Persona.

CD 24 for me, no egg sign this month. Not sure when to expect AF either. Past 2 cycles have been different lengths. Not sure if Persona just missed Ov or if it just wasn't detected.

I have been watching another thread that suggested a site about the Dr Jonas Method of conceiving. I looked it up and it was interesting and confusing. It suggested that you can conceive at other times of the month, not just at Ov. That really throws a spanner in the works. Have a look, it seems plausable, I think.

I'd had been feeling a bit guilty about neglecting the thread too 3catstoo.
I spoke to my friend who is a long term persona user about the sticks.. she said she had also had months when she didn't have the egg but was surprised about my last month with so few green days. I know the machine is getting to know me and today I strictly timed my 'wetting'! I think it is just bad luck I oved early in that first month.
Shall we post our stats again to get to know each other?

Trying to persuade DH to have 4th. Have been wanting another for a year but only told DH in Sept as I thought this feeling would go away!
He can't believe it and is not cooperating. I am doing my homework and trying to get to grips with my cycle on the off chance that he changes his mind under my constant pressure. I am determined.

I don't seem to be posting much either but to be honest haven't really got much too say. I'm trying not to get to hung up on the dates too much & after i finish my last test have not been checking Persona till AF arrives.

Glad you got your egg sign peachygirl. I think i have been very lucky have had one everytime & around same time each month. I dip in pot for 15 seconds.

Here are my Stats:

Me - 34
DH - 39
DD - 5

TTC since Sept 04 after Breast Cancer just coming up to 5 Years ago. Although we probably only really started with doing at 'right times' around Apr/May 05 & using opk kits. I think that this is my 4th cycle with persona (poss 5th not very good with keeping up).

3Catstoo - My DH would be quite happy if we didn't have another but to be fair i think that some of this is out of concern for me. I just want my DD to have a sibling so shes not alone. (I always wanted 3 but one step at a time). The only thing that is difficult is trying to get DH to bd at the right times. I always feel gulity that i am pressurising him even when i am not.
I hope that your DH comes round.

Hmm, CD13 for me and still no egg sign. However, went to see the OBGYN today and according to the ultrasound, I am on the cusp of ovulating. Got to go again on Thursday to see if I did ovulate after all.
Hence not very impressed with Persona at the moment, and am being really careful about dipping the sticks for 15 secs exactly. Maybe it will show up tomorrow...

Glad you got your egg Peachy.

CD 27 for me. No egg and only 7 green days this month. If last month was anything to go by AF should arrive today. Although as I didn't get an egg I'm sure my cycle has gone loopy this month. Last month I had a 6 day run up of spotting before full AF. Nothing yet this month.
Even if DH gives in I don't fancy our chances.
My cycle is following my Mums. She went through an early menopause and finally had a histerectomy at 38. I'm thinking the same might happen to me so am anxious to have number 4 asap. DH doesn't really understand how I feel.

Hi Jag, You're right about getting hung up on dates. I think in the end it helps to get to know your cycle but then probably increases the pressure somewhat.

hi did day 6 test today, but i think i did something wrong, when i peaed on the stick ,i put it in, but the yellow ligt kept flashing.been to gp they say am not ovulating, do i carry on with this persona?

trace, I get a red day on day 6, If you didn't do the test right it usually gives you a red day to err on caution. Other posters may find that they have a green day depending on their cycle. For me the red day matches up with a calulation I have to with my temping to establish my first fertile day

Trace2, the yellow light flashes when you have inserted the test stick correctly and it means the machine is calculating your fertility. A red day on day 6 is quite normal.
Hooray! I have an egg sign on day 15. Faith restored!

That's good news Eldestgirl.
CD 29 for me. After no egg and loads of red days I got a grren day on day 28. Not sure how the machine figured that one out. I guess it's far too late to Ov now so perhaps that's why.
Well my parents are coming to stay for a couple of days so probably won't post.

I just thought you would all be interested in this. Went to see OBGYN today to see if I ovulated, and according to the ultrasound, I did - about CD14/15. Today is CD16.
However, the egg sign on Persona came up on CD15 and today, CD16. According to the booklet, an egg sign means you should ovulate within the next 1 or 2 days, but it appears that I ovulated earlier than that.
Anyway, now the counting/waiting begins.

I have red days from day 6 to day 17 usually. My egg sign does not always show, but when it does it is normally day 14 and 15. I usually have to test on day 6 and then days 9-15

Hi ladies just checking in. It does make you wonder how accurate the Persona is. I think that you can only use it as a general guide.
Not sure what day i'm on but no symtoms of anything so prob no good. Then again was convinced last month but wasn't so you never know.
