Anyone using Persona to Conceive this month ?

That's it really. I'm CD 6, having red days, planning my BD-ing & wandering if anyone else is in the same boat as me...?

Well I did the test and it gave me a green light so I guess it can't have been that bad.
Last month I forgot to do the test on day 6 and so I got loads of red days. Still managed to detect Ov at the right time though.

Hi Girls...just a quick question. I have been using Persona for the last three months & i get egg sign on day 17 & 18. Please could you let me know whch day i ovulate??? is it true that you ovulate after the egg sign has dissappeared.

My understanding is that Persona detects the LH surge which happens BEFORE ov. So I think you would ov on the day after the 2nd egg sign, maybe.
I use a saliva monitor which tells you nearer the day of ov. I got the sign from that the day my Persona egg disappeared. Which would tie in with that theory.
I'm not an expert though.
To be safe I would BD on days of egg and after.

I can't imagine how you are feeling. I did get very sick with all 3 of mine but it did go at around 20 weeks. Somehow it felt worse when I had other little ones to run around after and feed.

Well I have a migraine today so feel sick for a different reason. DD2 is in bed now so will try to get my head down for half an hour.
The house looks like a tip but I just don't feel like doing it with this head.

Hi all, have just joined MN been using persona for approx 5 cycles, can anyone advise me?? Last month got egg symbol on day 10 and 11 - no probs I thought, but paranoid as I am I was also using clearblue digital ovulation sticks and it did not go off until day 13 (secretions seemed to peak here too) did all the BD around 10 and 11 then left it and obviously didn't work as AF came today anyone had similar problems? My cycle is regular at 26 / 27 days. Which one do you trust or do you trust no-one!! lol

I'm on my 3rd cycle with Persona so still getting used to it myself, so unable to help I'm afraid. All I can say is that I'm also using 2 types of Ov predictors and they seem to be following the same pattern. My cycle is very erratic so I wanted to double check. I haven't used the digital tests though. Perhaps they pinpoint Ov closer than Persona, which seems to indicate Ov in the next couple of days.
Sorry I can't be of much help.
I'm sure there will be someone on here that might know though.

summersun If your person has the egg up you should obviously Bd then, you should also go for it beforehand (5-7 days) as the sperm can hang around and catch the egg unawares, try not to thing of it as needing a 'direct hit' and maybe a couple of days after,especially if the other indicators say this. If your Dh can manage it !!
I temp and this month have had no egg symbol and on day 23 and it is still a red day! - we are not really trying this month but i'm waiting for it to change( I have dropped my machine twice this month too whoops)

Thanks Peachygirl and 3catstoo for your advice, I have now rung the persona line who said that the clearblue may be more sensitive than the persona, difficult to assess it all really, have every faith in persona and will obviously keep at it as it tests for LH and Oestrogen and clearblue is just testing for LH as far as I am aware - think I just need to chill and stop discovering new hormones in my wee!! on a daily basis, in danger of getting a PhD in human biology by default and never was that interested at school! take care all

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Mine wasn't great. DH found out on Thursday that he didn't get a job he had applied for (within the same company). He was given false hope by his collegues and now feels thoroughly depressed.

To add to his worries I broached the subjest of number 4 again. Not great timing on my part, I admit, but with Ov looming I was thinking of one thing!
Well we had a huge debate at 11pm on Sunday. He absolutely definately doesn't want anymore. But I do!!!
Not sure where to go from here. Have felt like this for a year now so I can't see it going away.
DH has always wanted 3. He neglected to tell me this until after number 3 was born and I expressed wishes for another. Not fair to keep it from me until he got 'his dream'.
I am still determined though.
To make matters worse my sister in law told me that she was 12 weeks pg on Friday (her second baby). Of course I am really happy for her but selfishly jealous too.

Hope everyone is having more luck than me.

Not a good weekend for me either AF arrived. I was gutted as i really thought that this month was it. Feeling queasy stretchy feelings like when i had dd. Had a few tears & feeling a bit silly. I feel that its time to think about going to GP to get a referal for some tests. DH can't see why we need to though so we will see.

I am feeling rubbish today. I was feeling quite relaxed about AF arriving this month as Persona and Clear Blue Digital OPK told me, no ovulation this month. Fine. So what am I on? CD36 and really annoyed with the delay as it has me hoping BOTH machines were wrong. My cycle is usually between 28-33 days, and to make things worse, I don't seem to show up on preg tests til late either (around day 39). So I feel completely at sea. Feeling the urge to check my knickers every 5 mins is very irritating!!

We don't seem to be having much luck on here.

CD 14 for me. I think I Ov'd early this month. Tested yesterday and today but no egg sign. Had an indication of Ov with the saliva monitor though.

DH started the conversation about babies last night. We are both so determined to fight our corner.
I think my head was in the clouds thinking I could persuade him over night.
I was nearly in tears trying to bring him round.
Well I could have another 4 weeks to work on him ready for next month. Fingers crossed.

Edlesgirl, I'm sure someone on here said that if you are using Persona for conception rather than contraception then your cycle length doesn't matter so much. I guess it's just running out of tests before Ov that would be a problem.

i'm not using persona at the mo! but i used it with my last baby she is 1yr on fri!

i thought it was great i got pregnant straight away well after the 3 mth period!

mind u my dh and i used to joke - we only have to say we want a baby and hold hands and i'm pregnant! lol

we're r on no.3 at the mo - i'm on the coil now because i didn't really trust persona to prevent me having a fourth since i got pregnant so easily last time and to be honest she wasn't completely planned! well not so quick! we were supposed to be avoiding the ovulation period but having to many drinks one night, that kind of went out the window! lol

we r planning no.4 (the last!) and i will take my coil out around june or july!

not sure if i will use persona this time might just c what happens! its that 3 mth period that puts me off!

3catstoo - I saw an obstetrician in Sept 04 to get the go ahead to try. ( I had Breast Cancer a few years ago & had to have chemo). Spent a few months 'just leaving it to nature'. Started using opks in about Apr 05 & now on 4th month on persona.

I've completely new to mn but have been watching this thread for a few days and have learnt so much already! Can anyone help and explain a couple of things for me?

I've been using Persona for 6 or 7 cycles, but we've only been ttc since new year. Can anyone explain the whole lines on the stick thing that a few people have mentioned? I've not had egg sign for last 2 cycles (but I didn't know I could over-wet the stick until I read it on this thread!), and have never noticed lines on stick, but I've never really looked at stick. If I don't get egg sign this month can I look for lines on stick instead, and does it indicate ov is coming or ov is that day?

Hi Hopingcat, welcome to MN.

I'm not sure on the lines on the stick either. It would be easier if there was just one line or two rather than 2 lines of varying shades. I'm on month 3 at the mo and no egg sign yet.
I think it helps to have a regular cycle so you can guess when it is happening anyway. No such luck with my cycle!

Nice to hear of someone else going to try for a 4th. Do you have DHs approval? If so have you got any tips on persuading?
I am very much like you in that with our 3 we only had to say the word baby and I was pregnant, even with an irregular cycle.
This time my cycle is much worse than in the past so I wanted to use Persona to give me a guide. So far on month 3 with Persona and every time it has been different. Mth 1 egg sign came on day 20, mth 2 on day 14, this mth - nothing yet as of CD 15.
I thought if I could pinpoint Ov and persyade DH I could get PG before he changes his mind. No luck on either though.
What age gaps do you have?

CD 17 for me and still no egg sign. I think Persona may have been too late this time, not really sure. Have to wait another 3-4 weeks now .

I'm off to the village toddler group now, which will be dull of new babies, just what I need !!!!
Can't let DD2 miss out on her playtime again. I don't go every week.

Can I ask a quick question?

I have PCOS and so v.irregular cycles - can be up to 6 weeks long so ov very difficult to pinpoint. Does Persona cater for such long cycles or would it be a waste of money?

Persona web site suggests that anyone with cycles of longer than 35 days should not use Persona. Have a look at this

I've got quite regular cycles so can't really help you more than this. I think it is quite expensive if you're not sure it is right for you - £65 unless you can get one on ebay.
