Hello ladies - haven't been around for a few days, so I don't think I'll be able to catch up with you all - you've been busy!

but Tunnocks you should definately complain about your doctors - they have treated you terribly, and it wouldn't have taken much for them to see you.

Stomach upsets - mine's all over the place. Permanently bloated, so I actually look much more pg than I am, which is very bizarre....Incontinence, I'm afraid I can't help with that one, but I'll second pink in that it must be very common.

Was supposed to be going down to London to see Dr.Shehata for a scan today, but he's ill and has cancelled. Can't decide if I'm relieved or a bit miffed - would love to see the bean, and if it's grown etc, but am also quite happy to stick my head in the sand and not want to know what's going on, or if the bean is still alive.....Seem to have adopted a different attitude of late. It's a combination of why worry, I can't change what's going to happen, but also denial that anything bad will happen. Now that I've managed to get to 8 weeks, I can see that I've done that, so maybe I can manage another 4 weeks.

Am bloody knackered and measured my waist the other day - I have put on 3.5 inches in 4 weeks!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm back in the loop, I'll be able to catch up properly with you all, as I'll keep an eye on here more regularly......have a good day x

Emoo · 28/02/2011 09:28

Morning all, just popping to say hello. Off to MW shortly to book in and beg for a scan. The bleeding peaked on Friday night then has tailed off, but there again so has the nausea, so I'm not quite sure what to think and am wavering at 50/50 this morning.

Will catch up later!
x

loola2shus · 28/02/2011 09:45

quick hug for emoo FX they sort you out with a scan to put your mind at rest xx

mrsrobinredbreast · 28/02/2011 09:47

Morning all,

Good luck to all scanners today.

Emoo Good luck at the MW this morning. How many weeks are you now?

Tunnocks, the surgery def deserves a letter complaining about their shitty attitude. How are you today?

lovemy, I know what you mean about the sticking your head in the sand thing (and also about the waist increase - I could end up the size of a house!). I am taking the attitude what will be will be at the moment and have somehow tried to detatch myself from it all at the moment.

My scan app came through on Saturday for a different hospital to the one I thought I'd requested with my GP! He was also going to request that my dating scan was nearer 10 weeks given my mmc last time. For the date I've been given I'll be almost 13 weeks. Ho hum.

On the symptom front I am nauseous 90% of the time and gutted as I have gone off tea which is big news for me!

Waves to all.

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 11:03

(((hugs for moo)))

KnitterNotTwitter · 28/02/2011 11:06

Hey... just back from my doctors where I got the whole process started... she's done the referal to the hospital and so soon I should get my letter through for bloods and booking in appointment... fingers crossed i get that far... Still going to have a 9 week scan at EPU though

KnitterNotTwitter · 28/02/2011 11:08

Also the nice doctor gave me two free packs of Sanatogen mum to be vitamins... apparently sanatogen keep sending them free samples and they're glad of pregnant mums to give them to :-)

Hugs to moo too

Robin have you tried caffine free tea?

Well done on the freebies, apparently you can get free nappies online also... will see if i can find the post! (thats if you are happy to use pampers i suppose!) Maybe thats for further down the line...

HAVE NOT heard back from hospital about Downs bloods. They said i should hear back within 3 days if BAD news... its been 7. I hope that means i am low risk again :) FX

Just shed a tear after seeing on bookface the awaiting news post of my friend... birthing baby today, my DD. Happy for my friend but sad for me.... i did text her to say i was thinking of her... she never said she was thinking of me Hmm but then you dont i suppose!

ah... i cannot wait to be expecting the arrival of this one, i so so hope to get that far [hopeful emoticon]

mrsrobinredbreast · 28/02/2011 11:41

knitter Ooh, freebies. They know how to treat us mums to be, don't they?

Tunnocks Hang on in there! Plenty of cranberry juice for you me dear.

nics They would have called you with bad news, the fact it's been so long probably means that they'll just have the results waiting for you on your next appointment. Give them a quick call if you are worried.

Oh and knitter, yes I have tried caffiene free tea, it's all I drink usually but the thought of it makes me queasy. I hope this is a temporary blip, I'm usually a real tea jenny. Thanks for the suggestion though.

owlbooty · 28/02/2011 11:51

Nix yes - I was told 'no news is good news' i.e. if it's a high risk result they ring you within 3 days. Otherwise it was a letter in the post. Hopefully your low-risk letter is in the post :)

Tunnocks you poor thing :(

MrsRobin I went off tea too, couldn't even drink decaff or camomile :( It was a bit of a disaster as I got somewhat dehydrated (I only normally drink tea), but I did manage to stomach cold water mixed with bitter lemon. Might be worth ringing the scan dept to see if they can move it forward?

Knitter excellent work on getting everything started!

louise lovely to see you in here; hopefully it won't be too long before you join us for a bit of wibbling :)

Daisybell1 · 28/02/2011 12:59

I mentioned the incontinence to the midwife, and she said she'll check with the dr. Has just phoned back and said that I can take my meds after 14 weeks (with the proviso that the effects are unknown...).

Am not sure whether to go back on the meds or not, but I feel better knowing they're there if I need them.....

Hope all are having a good day

PinkFondantFancy · 28/02/2011 13:21

daisy this is a bit leftfield so feel free to fish slap me for telling you about something that might be totally irrevant but I saw a tv program about stress incontinence and they gave the lady this weighted torpedo to put in her fanjo, and because it's weighted I think you have to work your muscles quite hard to keep it in, so she built up how long she did it from a couple of minutes to an hour at a time and it worked a treat. Probably irrelevant but thought I'd mention it just in case

mummyabroad · 28/02/2011 13:25

Nix Just wanted to send you my sympathies about your due date. Its a really hard day, and having a friend in labour must make it that bit tougher. I know that you will always remember your little one and that he/she was very much wanted and loved. Much love xxx

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 13:31

Thanks the birth announcement just came through.. she had a little girl, all good, everything fine :). Delighted for her, but i did shed a little tear.

If i didnt feel like my bump is about to split out of my skin today - i would feel ten million times worst!!

hotnspicyonions · 28/02/2011 13:32

Afternoon to you all! Special waves to Daisy Owl Robin Nix Teacake Knitter Emoo Lovemy Pink Mummya Tony and anyone else I may have missed. Hope Monday is being kind to you all after such a busy weekend of postings!

I keep forgetting I'm PG and keep pushing it to the back of my mind, although I have told a few friends and have a girls night tonight, so will probably spill the beans there too. I'm rubbish at keeping it quiet! I just keep thinking, it's been two weeks since I tested and they've flown by, relatively uneventfully. Just hoping the next (FX) 34 weeks do too!! Am seeing GP next Weds so will find out what she thinks about early scan etc.

Off to bake some giant cupcakes now, I shall drop one off in here soon. Brew & beanbags at the ready!

Emoo · 28/02/2011 14:00

Right. Now to catch up...

Midwife visit (I'm 8+3, robin, and thanks for the good luck wishes) was a bit surreal, to be honest. Felt like a bit of a fraud being there at all. Was fine though (until they weighed me.. )! No problems getting EPU referral - just mentioned the words "bleeding" and "rhesus negative" in the same sentence and she was on the phone to them before you could say "anti-D"! I have a scan on Thursday (8+6).

Teacake - have been thinking of you. You hit the nail on the head with the "terror-hope combo". I agree - letter of complaint to surgery is appropriate, given that bleeding in early pregnancy could easily be first sign of an ectopic, you should have been assessed by someone medically qualified or directed to a walk-in centre or similar if your own surgery was full.

Pink, Tony, MummyA - well done for being brave and posting in that other place. I have read it, and was about to compose a long post about how they could use others' less-positive experiences to cognitively reframe their own and make themselves feel happier about things. But I decided I couldn't be arsed...! and from the other responses I think some are happier being miserable iyswim.

Pink - 10 weeks - wow - double figures!!! I am desperate to hear everyone's plans for responses when asked to give up their seats!!

Cep - yes it's safe - come in, have a mini-egg, and welcome to insanity! There's a whole bunch of bleeders, gooers and crampers on here to keep you company, not to mention fanjo-twingers Confused !

Nix - Fingers crossed for a low risk Downs test for you, and I hope you are being kind to yourself on this special day . By the way, you paint a delicious picture of you naked in the bath! I have to admit to having expanded, er, a little (mainly comfort-eating after MC though), and managed to create a dammed-up backlog of water behind my arse in the bath when I pulled the plug out the other day... didn't notice it and it all rushed through as I stood up, and made me jump!

A&R - thanks for your toast to good scans and well-behaved secretions! Not to mention the choccie biccies...

Knitter - good work using the slimming as a drinking excuse - glad you had a good weekend. It's so lovely to find things to do to keep your mind busy.

Daisy - don't worry if you wibble at the MW - I'm sure they're used to it! Good luck.

Love - nice to see you here again... bloating also a problem here, with jeans feeling a bit on the tight side. Well, I'm blaming it on bloating. Not cream cakes, mini-eggs, etc. I hope you manage to get your scan rearranged soon.

Loola sweetheart, thanks for the hug!

Robin - I have also gone off tea unless it is builder-hot, for some reason. Everything just tastes odd, and too sweet. Not that that's stopped me from eating sweet stuff!

Onions - well done on getting to 6 weeks without a scare. Long may it continue! And I look forward to your cupcake... giant sounds good!

Dachs - not heard from you for a while (unless I blinked and missed it) - hope everything is going well for you.

Wombat33 · 28/02/2011 14:32

Hello all! Gosh I've missed so much over the last few days!!! I'll have to read back and catch up later. Hope you're all doing okay and the bleeders and crampers are all hanging on in there!?! Brown blood seems to be a daily ooccurance for me now.

Had my dating/nuchal scan this morning and all looks oksy touch wood. I have to wait a week to 10 days for the blood test results and the overall risk calculation so I'm going to be on tenterhooks waiting for that one!

Brews all round and I hope everyone is having a good Monday (as Mondays go!).

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 14:34

Fab news wombo xxx

I guess brown is just the way forward.... at least bean is fine xx

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 14:50

OK - can we have a list, i cant remember how far along everyone is....

digitalgirl · 28/02/2011 14:55

Have been lurking lots over the weekend, but in a bid to try and curb my obsession with minute by minute symptom watch I'm trying to limit my posting.

Hi to lou sorry to hear about the recent CP. I remember just joining the grads thread last year as you came back from the hospital Sad. I left shortly after joining, but have always been pleased to see your name pop up from time to time...hope its not long before we see you on another ante-natal thread.

Quite a bit of backache today. Hoping that it's a 'good' symptom. Have also been quite tired. Again, secretly pleased.

nix (((hugs))) for you on your Due Date.

digitalgirl · 28/02/2011 14:57

x-posted, fab news on the good scan wombat.

Fingers crossed for all those waiting on ante-natal test results.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 28/02/2011 15:58

nix just popping in to give you a big (((hug))) on your due date. Thinking of you xx

mrsrobinredbreast · 28/02/2011 16:13

Nics Sending you hugs on your due date too. Hope you are doing okay, I guess it's a hard day to work through but thinking of you.

Wombat Great news on the scan.

I have now re-booked mine. They don't like to scan before 12 weeks at good old Warrington hospital so I will now be nearer 14 weeks when I have mine as I'm on hols the week before. I feel a private scan booking coming on.

One of the girls at work announced her pregnancy today, I sooooo want to be joining her and making my own announcement. Am rubbish at taking one day at a time.
