Seriously teacake if you're in pain you can just head to a&e and they'll get you scanned by the gynae dept. It'll take a few hours but it's best to go on a weekday as it's unlikely you'll be seen by a gynae on a weekend. In my second miscarriage I went to a&e and the scan didn't show anything more than a 4-5 sized sac so they took hcg bloods and again two days later to compare. But I at least got the pregnancy recorded on the system so when my third happened there was no question of putting me forward for tests.

digitalgirl · 25/02/2011 09:19

Smile wombat

My scan is 11:30 but they'll probably keep me waiting.

hotnspicyonions · 25/02/2011 09:22

tunnocks WTF?!? How insensitive of your doctors?? Can you not just turn up at the surgery & say you refuse to leave until you are seen?? When I went to A&E when I was MC last time (didnt know I was MCing), they asked why I hadn't gone to my doctor. Would have thought docs were there to help you!

Wombat33 · 25/02/2011 09:28

tunnocks I second others' suggestions about a&e. If you go to one that has a gynae dept they should be able to see you. Just say you weren't able to get a doc appointment and the pain became too much. Don't in through this alone lovely xxx

Wombat33 · 25/02/2011 09:38

As for my scan. It was very quick! They kept us anxiously waiting for half an hour despite the fact we were on time and the dirt appointment of the day. When we got into the scan room we were there for about 60seconds! She put the probe on my belly, said yes there's a baby, it has a heartbeat and I can't see any bleeding and that was it. Very good news obviously but it felt so st

Wombat33 · 25/02/2011 09:42

sorry, phone playing up. The end of my post was: it felt so rushed it hasn't quite yet sunk in. I think I'm still anxious because of my nucal on monday but I know I'm lucky to have got this far.

OrangeGloss · 25/02/2011 09:58

Tunnocks I agree with the others, that you should go to A&E. What a horrible insensitive dr and receptionists. As awful as this sounds, like Digi said, better to have it recorded :( You deserve all the help and support they have to offer, and don't let them ever let you think otherwise xx

Wombat great news, and fx for next scan, am sure it will be fine

Digi good luck for later

I forgot to say, I was going to try a semi-runny egg while I was away, but felt too sick when I went near em. Now at the thought of one Confused

tunnocks that is dreadful, so sorry gp surgery being so mean. I agree-go to a&e this morning.

banana thrush pill all the way, pessaries are a bit messy and don't work so well IMO. Also if your DP looks red or sore get him to do some cream too. I didn't realise I had thrush and just thought he was getting friction burns Blush

wombie v pleased about your good scan, mine was good too Grin

KnitterNotTwitter · 25/02/2011 10:27

hugs tunnock.... I'm guessing she's never been through what you have so genuinely doesn't understand :(

Velvetcu · 25/02/2011 10:32

tunnocks I also agree you should go to a&e - at the very least they will be able to give you some decent pain meds.

digi good luck for your scan later

I'm really sorry to those who are having a hard time right now but I need a bit of a rant :( I know you all told me that cb digis are the devil but I peed on one anyway this morning - was 1-2 last friday, now says 3+. I thought that would make me feel a bit better but all I thought was "ok, so it is making hCG right now, same as last time". I'm not feeling any joy or happiness just worry.

Also, BIL is really really pissing me off, especially now that I am a rage monster!! For those who dont know, he moved in with us the week before xmas coz his fiancee dumped him, we though it was temporary, he is still here! He sold his SKY box to a friend on Wednesday saying to us "well I don't need it anymore!". Also, he is sooooo greedy! I'm on and off with my appetite atm and it's half term so I bought little things like lemon and raisin pancakes that I could toast and munch on. I got up this morning starving and dizzy to find he has eaten the whole pack last night after we went to bed! He has also eaten a giant bar of galaxy that I got for xmas and then eaten the bar he bought to replace that one! Angry Angry

phew that feels better!

Velvetcu · 25/02/2011 10:32

xposts Pink glad your scan was good :)

KnitterNotTwitter · 25/02/2011 10:39

Should have mentioned but I'm going away for the weekend - hen weekend for a lovely friend - so won't be able to post. I hope everyone has nice boring weekends (and that you don't post too much so I have a chance to catch up on Monday :) )

nickstermum · 25/02/2011 10:46

Pink have you been scanned - sorry must have missed that one.

Anyone seen owls about lately? Hope youre ok lovely x

Wombat so glad all fine. Dont worry about your nuchal on monday. You will at least be able to relax a bit knowing baby is fine. (maybe even get a little excited at seeing it for a bit longer!) We were in for nearly 30 mins at 12 week nuchal due to misbehaviour. Didnt get the nuchal measurement. You can either go privately or wait til your 16 week bloods.

teacake again, im so sorry you are going through this. Mmm sometimes mums are too black and white :( Respect your decision for not going to A&E. After i went in two weeks ago, i wouldnt again. If you can handle the pain with tablets, carry on doing that. I would suggest making an appt at the epu for a scan to ensure its all clear inside, plus also to log it in your medical records. (although i am still hoping for you its not that - of course!) ((hugs lovely))

nickstermum · 25/02/2011 10:49

velvet you should start walking round with no clothes on and embarrass him so he buggers off....?
Cheeky sod. I remember when my brother stayed with us a few years ago... t'was a nightmare. My neighbours caught him shinning up the drainpipe to climb in upstairs when he got locked out one day...!! Thankfully he is now more mature Grin PS step away from the CBdigis... there is a new naughty corner in the freak out room y'know Grin

Everyone else ok?

Wombat33 · 25/02/2011 11:00

pink glad your scan was good!

sending good vibes digi

velvet time for some serious words with bil? Like 'what are your plans for finding a new house?

IreneHeron · 25/02/2011 11:27

Tunnocks hope you're ok. Like Nickster says, last time I made an appointment for a scan to make sure all was clear inside, I think it is a good idea. Hopefully if you do you'll be luckier than I was when they just made me POAS and sent me on my way in a rude WTF are you doing here fashion even though the doc had told me to go there.

Pink congrats on a good scan.

Wombat good luck on monday. I'm so impatient to get that far.

Velvet some heavy hints in order for your BIL. I'd be hauling him round estate agents trying to get him a flat.

A wave to everyone else. I'm so behind with you all, this thread moves really fast.

I went to see the doc yesterday so I'm about to ring the midwives and self refer. Still such early days for me, I'm really wishing the time away. Feeling sick, sore tits. Last night I was unable to sleep. My back hurt, I just couldn't get comfortable. Went for a run today with the doctor's blessing. Hope it wasn't a mistake.

mamapower · 25/02/2011 11:28

nix think owl is on half term jolly's in Somerset, lucky her!

knitter have a great weekend Grin I also have a hectic one; Southampton with friends tonight then London to see my bro, then Kent to house hunt! So I'll catch up next Mon/Tues Smile

Velvet I think you need to sit down with BIL and have a little chat... pg or not, him gulping all your treats is taking the piss... what a cheeky git!!

teacake and lady thinking of you both xxx

Pinkety pink glad scan went well Grin

Digi hope the scan goes well.

Me and bean are now officially registered, yay Grin

waves to all and hugs for those that need them. Have a good weekend xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 25/02/2011 11:49

velvet that is ridiculous-time for a discussion about when he's moving out I think....

I'm working from home today to try and reduce my stress. But F*ing MIL has excelled herself today. V v v long story but I've told DH to call and sort out which will inevitably start WW3 and they're supposed to be coming to stay this weekend. Thing is, being in the middle of a Barney won't stop them from coming to stay and continuing the argument here. MARVELLOUS.

mamap good work, it's all official now!!!

Wombat33 · 25/02/2011 12:10

Oh dear. hugs Pink hopefully things will calm down a bit once your DH has spoken to them.

Well done for getting on the system mamp!

Irene I'm very jealous of your run. I'm desperate to get out and do some exercise but I'm forbidden by GP/Midwife until I'm at least 14 week giiven I've had so much bleeding. Not sure it will actually make a difference but they are understandably covering themselves and I'm not about to take the risk. If it all works out it will be a very worthwhile sacrifice.

Enjoy your hols Knitter

Scan ok. Baby with heartbeat, but measures 2 days smaller than I expected, so not out of the woods yet.
