A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

Also 34 blackkat but bizarrely at my lowly comprehensive in the north east we had strict rules of etiquette for school discos - boys had to ask a girl to dance and you were not allowed to say no because it was rude and it had taken a lot of courage for the boys to ask, apparently but then you had to remain 6 inches apart or face a rap on the head from the Head of History patrolling the hall...

Blackkat · 09/02/2011 22:33

Lucky you izz in the beautiful north east, look for jobs there everyday, only made it back as far north as Yorkshire so far. Lifelong ambition #1 to live back in the north!

The history teacher sounds a bit scary . It would've been just my luck to be picked by the smelly boy! [grins]

lily06 · 10/02/2011 08:12

Smile at the North East comments. I love it here. Not from up here originally but its the friendliest place I've ever lived.

Sorry I can't do a full catch up, just out way out to work, been a busy week, will check in later, hope you are all doing ok x

No news here, STILL waiting for AF on day 53 now, how come my longest cycle ever is while I'm waiting to start TTC?

youremindmeofthebabe · 10/02/2011 08:56

izz I didn't know you were from up there too. We have a heavy northern crew in here, don't we?

Just off to work I go, All ok here, SMEG plan going well. Cant remember who was asking, but I have long cycles too, and didn't start til day 11.

ZamMummyInGabs · 10/02/2011 09:50

Hello everyone,
I'm back from my trip to Zambia but forgot to take thermometer with so have no idea whether I've ov'd or not. I should have as it's now day 19, but have still got CM (no more eggnog) and cervix soft. Will be SWI tonight just in case, even tho the SMEG was scuppered by my trip and DH's teeth! AF supposedly due a week today, so not long to wait either way - but that's the day we set off for an 9-hours drive into the Kalahari for a long weekend seeing meerkats & tracking with San bushmen - hope she stays away or is at least kind to me.

Any mooncup users? Would like to get one online & see if they'd DHL to me in time.....

AandRMum · 10/02/2011 10:28

Also can't remember who was asking about the SMEG start date of day 8 - I think that is just in the perfect world where you ov on Day14. I think the aim of every 2 days prior is to make sure you get the good stuff when it counts - lovely fresh sperm for the 3 days in a row. I would count back around 6 days from the earliest you are likely to ov and go from there. One week to go here too Zam so I guess we are POAS partners!! My DDs would love your trip Meerkats are top of their list!! Sounds fab

For the newbies SMEG is an adulteration of SMEP (Sperm Meet Egg Plan). We are doing a highly scientific experiment in here to see if the plan results in more pregnancies than not using the plan! All are welcome to join. I would post the link but despite being keeper of the data I don't have it to hand!!

MumTumWanted · 10/02/2011 10:46

cant believe how quickly this thread moves cant keep up so instead to everyone and hope that TTC efforts are going well, I myself havingbeen thankfully after 7 weeks to begin first AF after MC am now hoping it will finish so we can get onto SWI....

knickernottwitter where you been ? hows things going ...

To all you Northern babes on here, im afraid im a southerner so will have to merely sit longingly wishing of being there with you and all you friendly people

Blackkat · 10/02/2011 11:00

Smile indeed for the NE - my emergency m/c happened north of Newcastle and I can honestly say the staff at Wansbeck in Ashington were the bestest hospital staff I could ever imagine - they have phoned to check how I am now I'm back home - splendid people

here's the link A&R www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm

Chloe55 · 10/02/2011 11:43

Morning ladies,

AF has arrived. Feeling surprisingly ok about it actually. It means I don't have to take the Provera and it also means I can stop chasing my due date. I can not be pg now for the impending date so I can relax about trying to be. It also means I can get Wine on my birthday Wink

Spongebob bedroom is coming along nicely but taking forever! I can't wait to see ds's face tomorrow after school Smile

Welcome to the newbies, Sad you are here but you will find this thread a huge support, I know I have. It is very fast paced though!

I have loved the Gloomy Place & music then the switch to 80's disco! Grin

ZAM - you have such an exciting life, I love hearing what you get up to!

Orange - Good luck for tomorrow, I am not surprised you are worried but I am sure everything will be as it shlould be. I look forward to the update.

Collie - well done on the mammoth post, I second everything you said Wink (That really is lazy isn't it! Grin)

maybebabyR · 10/02/2011 12:05

Thank you for all the kind words everyone, it's nice to feel so welcome, and know there are lots of us mad obsessive crazies lovely ladies out there TTC!

mumtumwanted I too am a Southerner, so bumping up the numbers slightly!!

AandRMum · 10/02/2011 13:04

Londoner but south of Thames (just) - does that count as South? I always feel like it is a world all to itself - very love it or hate it!!

mummyabroad · 10/02/2011 13:45

Ex-Londoner over here, cant say I miss it much though!

AandR It was me do the odd number shag days, and bizzarely I seem to be having a "typical" cycle this month, CD1 = 1st of Feb, EOD (estimated ov day) = 14th (ValentinesGrin) Must say its been quite handy only having to look at the caldendar to see what CD I am on! So anyway, my SMEG efforts are a little bit wonky, but I still consider myself following the plan.

best of luck for tommorrow orange

Ninunina · 10/02/2011 13:54

South West Londener over here...but I'm originally from much further south....and by south I mean Southern Mediterraean Smile

Chloe55 · 10/02/2011 14:27

Ooh where abouts Ninu? Lots of diversity on this thread too - I love it! Love hearing about other cultures etc.

cep · 10/02/2011 14:29

Afternoon all, hope you're all ok.

ooh those down south whereabouts? i'm fareham way.

Well still no ewcm here, all opks are neg so far. my temp went up yesterday but back down today, although not back to 96.8 was still below the 97.0 mark. Is the 14 days tomorrow so unsure if not ov'd by then when i'm going to. Dh couldn't score the goal yesterday so hoping can tonight so i've at least got some there if i do ov tomorrow.

Ninunina · 10/02/2011 15:07

From the tiny island of Malta Smile Wouldn't mind being there today, it's a bank holiday and I'm sure the weather is MUCH better there than it is here. Tried to venture out for the first time today, but the rain put me off so I went back home after an hour.

maybebabyR · 10/02/2011 15:10

Hi cep I'm over in Chelmsford Essex.

cep · 10/02/2011 15:25

I haven't been to chelmsford in years. i used to laugh driving past a signpost down there that showed you where the secret nuclear bunker was.

Am i the furthest down then??

katherine2008 · 10/02/2011 15:50

I'm in Maldon, Essex - just got back from a meeting in Chelmsford maybe and purchased a very smart new umbrella in Debenhams. Sending you an Essex girls wave. My dh is from the North East - best of both worlds! Sending orange good vibes for tomorrow and waving to everyone else. I'm due to OV on the 14th too - blimey, it's like an office round here! chloe need pictures of that Spongebob room!

katherine2008 · 10/02/2011 15:50

lots of exclamation marks there - will try to desist in future

maybebabyR · 10/02/2011 15:53

Ah, I like Maldon Katherine, sending you a Essex wave back! Get you and your new umbrella!

I'm just jealous as I didn't bring one today!

katherine2008 · 10/02/2011 16:00

You should see the state of my hair - The walk from the Station to Starbucks has left me with a total frizz and my suede boots are buggered - so treated myself with one of those cute transparent ones for the walk back..! I know how to live!

cep · 10/02/2011 16:32

I HAVE EGGWHITE!!!!!!

Those of you who test for cm, do you use 1 or 2 fingers? i've only been using 1 and last month that was fine i got ewcm even on 1 finger, just read ff saying to use 2, tried that and for the first time this month got ewcm.

Ninunina · 10/02/2011 16:49

cep Yay for eggwhite!!! Better get down to business then Wink I'm afraid I can't help you with the fingers, I never got down to charting and testing when ttc, I know exactly when I ovulate because I get quite bad ovulation pain, but I think I'll be a bit more targeted this time round. Does anyone know if the saliva tests are any good?

EPU has called to confirm that my hcg levels are going down. They still haven't oofficially told me "you've had a m/c" yet. I obviously know I have, but find it strange that they don't confirm it. Maybe they'll only do this once my hcg levels are 0??? I need to go back next week- is that normal?

Collie2 · 10/02/2011 17:09

AandR it was me who asked about how many days pre ov to ttc if have long cycle. Glad you think that 6 days b4 is ample, especially as the offical officer of the scientific experiment!! Smile.

Ninu Smile at Malta. Beautiful place, and people. Holiday'd there with mum 2 years ago at to Gozo with DH 5 years ago.

chloe Sad at AF but Smile for you as you do seem to be less sad which I'm really glad about. You should def have lots of Wine for birthday... When is it?

cep Smile Smile at eggwhite. You had better get busy.... Don't want to see you on here again tonight as you should be to busy swi!! X

karherine Grin at frizz Smile. Sad at boots though!!
