A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

For reference here's a link back to the previous thread

Cep that room temp thing has come up before - we suspect they actually mean - if you have refrigerated your wee (why??) then allow it to return to room temp before testing rather than let it, urm, cool down :)

I also vote for the grapefruit juice, it does the trick!

Pooch you're so right - the bad scans do stay with you forever I think. I am deeply envious of the lucky so-and-sos who have never had a horrible scan and bounce into the ultrasound department with not a care in the world - never gonna happen for us lot.

Very big hugs to all who are feeling under par. xx

Wombat33 · 01/02/2011 11:25

Morning lovelies xxx Big hugs to Collie and Pooch and anyone else having a tough time at the moment. Collie my DH has also been stunned and touched at the support we get on here. He commented the other day that sometimes it's hard for him because he doesn't want to lean on me too much (even though I tell him he can he's always trying to protect me) and he doesn't have a MN equivaelent. I tried to encourage him to come on MN too if he wants, but I'm not sure he will. Look out for a Mr Wombat though just in case Smile

I tried grapefruit juice for CM. Not sure it did anything other than make me feel as if I was doing something iyswim? Top tip is that pink grapefruit juice tastes much nicer than yellow juice!

Nix also swore by litres and pineapple juice after ov for lining thickness and stickiness I think.

Chloe55 · 01/02/2011 12:10

AFternoon ladies,

((Hugs)) to those of you feeling particularly low at the moment. It really is the hardest thing finding out people are pg and also having those around you due at the same time. It seems to be everywhere too - I opened a magazine yesterday which had a double page spread on the celebrities who are pg too. It seems no matter how hard we try we can't get away from it.

Someone mentionedd acupuncture before, I know one of you is def having it but I can't remember who now was it Velvet? Knitter? Sorry can't remember, anyway I read a story in the magazine yesterday about a lady who had been on Clomid with no joy then tried acupuncture and fell pg - would you recommend it?

Well I have had a tiny bit of blood when wiping this morning so I am expecting AF to arrive a few days earlier than expected. I am trying my hardest not to get my hopes up it was implantation bleeding as was so devastated when I had a -ve test yesterday morning. I do feel pretty sick though Confused However, I am also aware that Clomid can cause pg symptoms. Arrggghhh I need to fast forward a few days!

Collie2 · 01/02/2011 12:36

Its very quiet on here today. Is there anyone there?? MummyA no POAS today? Smile

fx for you chloe that its not AF, but understand not wanting to get your hopes up after a -ive test.

I'd like to fast forward a few days too. I am just stick of my wtf cycle and want to start a normal cycle again. At least i might feel like i have at least a little bit of control again (a little i said) Smile.

MummyAbroad · 01/02/2011 12:37

Hi all,

AF arrived this morning. TTC-lite it over - this month I am getting serious! but after getting a bit drunk firstGrin

cep I live in the captial, San Jose, all the beaches are just a few hours away by car.

In hopsitals/doctors surgeries they refrigerate the wee. If its just come out of you, you dont have to cool it or anything.

YRMOTB I tried grapefruit juice while I was in England and was amazed. I have been doing EPO for months (only up till ov) and didnt notice much difference, maybe it was the two combined?

knitter couldnt stop laughing about the dribble for ages. (sorry)

I took Rasberry leaf capsules after the operation to improve lining. Again, you can only take this up till ov because it causes uterine contractions and so could prevent implantation. I only used it while I wasnt TTC have stopped now because it seems quite heavy duty (I also used it in the last few weeks of pregnancy with DS, to prepare for birth)

I have also taken bromelain which is the active ingredient in the pineapples thought to improve the uterine lining. There is conflicting advice about whether it helps implantation or prevents it by causing uterine contractions so best bet is use it while you are not TTC (or up till ov, but that doesnt make much sense if its to help implantationHmm )

for collie and anyone else who needs one.

Collie - yes, tis a bit quiet compared to the last few days!

How are you feeling today? Hope you are ok, its always hard in that situation and other people generally don't get it. My mum was particularly insenstive when my next door neighbour had a baby just before Christmas. We were out shopping together and she decided to buy them some baby clothes, and even said "Oooh its been ages since I've bought baby clothes". EP and MC all forgotten then? I'm glad your DH is understanding and there for you.

Chloe - how are you doing? Hope the clomid side effects aren't too bad for you this week.

lily06 · 01/02/2011 12:46

MummyA really sorry to hear that, but as you say now the TTC can begin in earnest! And the getting drunk is an excellent idea. What's EPO if you don't mind me asking?

Collie2 · 01/02/2011 12:47

Sorry mummya xpost. Sorry your AF came today Sad but i like your positive outlook and you did put together an excellent list of things to improve on!! Smile How are you feeling? xx

Collie2 · 01/02/2011 12:52

lily I'm better than last night thanks, and feeling a bit better again this afternoon. I'm my own worst enemy though, going on about how i'll need to avoid her.... then went and searched her out of FB. Nice little scan on there of course!! Aghhh am a fool!!!

I am sure your mum didn't mean to be insensitive but she really was. sorry hun. I know what you mean, mc was about 5 weeks ago now and i get the distinct feeling that sympathy has dried up as i should be 'over it' now.

Chloe55 · 01/02/2011 12:54

Urrghh that's a bugger Mummya, but, like you say, on the plus side at least you get drunk and try some new things Wink

Lily - Hmm that was insensitive of your mum. I love my mum dearly but some of the things she has said to me since I have decided to take a break on the job hunting front have Shock me to the core. Things like, 'well how long are you planning not to look for work, you may never fall pg you know?' and the usual look of disappointment that follows.

Not having any clomid side effects for past few days (unless the pg symptoms are not pg or AF), just having mild period type aches. I am not even PMTy either so am just very Confused

I used Raspberry Leaf tea at the end of my pg with ds. It is disgusting!

Collie2 · 01/02/2011 12:55

I think EPO is Evening Primrose Oil.

lily06 · 01/02/2011 12:57

Collie I think we all torment ourselves, especially on FB!

I know what you mean about the sympathy drying up - people expect you to get over the emotional side of things as soon as the physical pain is over. I remember sometime last year commenting to DH that the doctor had offered me a course of anti depressants - he couldn't understand why!

MummyAbroad · 01/02/2011 13:04

lili EPO = evening primrose oil. I am still taking it because it has made my skin and feel fantastic. Smile

collie not feeling too bad thanks, but its only 7am and have not long woken up. The disapointment might start sinking in later!

cep · 01/02/2011 14:28

Afternoon All,

mummya sorry she got you. at least you're handling it better than me. Grin was looking on google maps at costa rica last night.

collie sorry it's quiet cause i've actually been at work today. am glad you're feeling better today.

I haven't tried grapefruit juice, how much do you have to drink to get an effect? i don't like grapefruit.

I drank raspberry leaf tea near end of pg with ds and had to add sugar, was fine with sugar.

hello to everyone else. i'm rubbish at mentioning names (can't seem to remember anything at the moment), but hope you're all ok.

Collie2 · 01/02/2011 14:32

Hope your still feeling ok mummya ?

Smile
lily06 · 01/02/2011 14:34

How's work, cep? I'm at work too but can dip in and out of here as my shop is a bit quiet this afternoon.

I'm not keen on grapefruit either, but prepared to give it a go. Would also be interested to know how much is enough!

Thanks, MummyA, I used to take evening primrose when I was a teenager and do remember I felt better on it - no idea why I stopped taking it, guess I got out of the habit. I've heard its supposed to even out the highs and lows that hormones produce too. >

lily06 · 01/02/2011 14:36

Collie if you've opened that wine already we may as well make a start. MummyA can join us at a reasonable hour in Costa Rica Grin

Collie2 · 01/02/2011 14:36

Hi cep I should be working too today but i'm at home and just cannot concenrate.

Not sure how much grapefruit you'd need. Maybe a glass.....but i'm totally guessing.

Collie2 · 01/02/2011 14:39

Yes i used to use EPO when i was younger....to help with my zits Grin but got out of the habit. I've got some actually but never think to take them..... but know i know they can help.... >

Pooch28 · 01/02/2011 14:39

Collie mmc was 15th Oct, then had what I thought was a normal cycle so started trying again and got a BFP 25th Nov but then 5 days later had either a heavy AF or v early mc - dr said it was a biochemical pregnancy. Confused Have been ttc since then, on CD 17 now and imagining pg symptoms that dont' even exist!
lily my mum sent me a 'joke' email a couple of weeks after my mmc - about a pg woman etc etc - wasn't funny at all and couldn't believe how insensitive she had been.
chloe had acupuncture and massage when I was pregnant with my DD. Didn't have it for the last 2 MC's or the 2 MC's I had before DD. Now having it again, I'm pretty cynical Hmm but the Acupunc't I saw has been the only person to make me feel more positive and talked soooo much sense - if you can afford it I would recommend it.

Chloe55 · 01/02/2011 14:40

I am meant to be on the special K diet and have just troffed a chocolate sponge pudding with ice cream that I had to have and have now made myself feel really sick Blush

Collie2 · 01/02/2011 14:41

Lily whats your shop?

lily06 · 01/02/2011 14:48

Its a pet shop, Collie.

Thanks, Chloe and Pooch, its kind of good to know that its not just my mum that can be that insensitive. I finally told her last week that we were TTC again and about the clomid and all she could say was 'how will you manage the shop'? The silly thing is that we're actually very close and talk about everything else, but she's never been supportive of me wanting kids.

Chloe55 · 01/02/2011 14:51

How strange Lily - does she have any reason for her not wanting you to TTC? My mum and I are the same, tell each other everything but sometimes she is so bloody insensitive.
