Hi there,

TTC #2, starting this month.
Anybody else out there thinking new year, new baby?

Currently OV, first attempts this month.

LPO - sorry lurker here but regards the OPKs ... it is v v easy to miss your LH surge e.g. you may have had a surge in the morning and by the time you tested in the afternoon you could have a negative result. Lots of people who use OPKs end up testing twice a day. I only know as I have researched this as I had a month of negative results but still had all the signs of ovulation.

BeeMyBaby · 01/06/2011 22:11

Question then golden, would you say that temperature checking is more accurate, or is it possible to miss this too?

eurochick · 01/06/2011 22:15

Temps will only show ovulation AFTER it has happened, so they are no good for letting you know when to jump your OH.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 02/06/2011 23:15

LOL Bee!

I agree about the OPKs, actually - I ended up doing it twice a day this time as the line was getting darker and darker but not quite there and I thought there was a chance it might peak (and, frankly, I wanted a night off SWI Shock and would have lain back and thought of Scotland enjoyed some quality time with DH had the stick that evening dictated so...

(as it was, we got a night off and made the most of the following night after a lovely big dark line in the morning!)

Crossing everything...

LPO · 03/06/2011 11:41

Will try twice a day next month and see what happens then. Thanks for your advice. Have been worrying myself that I'm not ovulating at all!

Fingers crossed for you Wicket when is your AF due?

Still waiting here, AF due anyday.

OP posts:
TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 03/06/2011 22:11

AF due a week on Sunday or Monday I think. I'm actually away at a conference from that day until the Wednesday, and not taking any tests with me, so I will be FORCED to wait this month! If no AF by the time I get home, that will be definitely late and I can test with impunity. I have a good feeling about this month, but then I had a good feeling about last month as well.

Hoping that pesky AF stays away for you!

BeeMyBaby · 04/06/2011 07:36

LPO I had initially read just part of your post, and hadn't read wickets (I was just reading it briefly in the 'I'm watching' section) and thought you meant SWI twice a day - now that would end up painful! Thought it was going to be a more extreme version of the every 48 hour tactic. But happily you are not planning to torment yourself with too much DH love I am pleased to see.

LPO · 04/06/2011 17:05

ROFL Bee DEFINITELY don't mean that!! :)

Still awaiting AF here, keeps getting symptoms but never know if it's in my head or actual! ;)

Think that is a sign I'm officially loosing it!!!

OP posts:
LPO · 05/06/2011 19:25

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH! I hate this time of the month!!!!! I am sitting here waiting for AF to appear! Have had a tummy ache all day and so tired, all AF symptoms. But nothing appeared yet so my head is getting all excited and carried away, BUT I know full well it is more than likely to make it's appearance during the night/tomorrow/the day after. ARGH !!!!!!

OP posts:
BeeMyBaby · 05/06/2011 20:49

do you think it could be a long cycle this month? I am waiting on your AF possibly coming as well, didn't want to jinx it by posting too early - can I accidentally jinx you and make your AF come - probably not - but was just in case.

LPO · 06/06/2011 07:08

I have no idea bee they do say that stress can delay it a few days. But if nothing by this afternoon then I'm going to go buy a test and see what that says.

OP posts:
LPO · 06/06/2011 15:42

BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Says 1-2 weeks!!!! :)
Currently sat shaking!! DH not answering his bloody phone even though he knows I've just done it!! Can't believe it! Have a 2nd test that I am going to do in the morning to be sure!!! :):) :)

OP posts:
TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 06/06/2011 21:20

LPO!! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!
And just a tiny bit Envy. I've got another week to wait yet.

How lovely. It's time we had some more good news on here. But am I going to be left here all alone?!!

BeeMyBaby · 06/06/2011 21:23

LPO congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so so happy for you! The thread starter has now had a BFP :D What did you DH say? Apart from yaaaaay!!!!!

wicket you won't be alone, I am still eagerly awaiting your AF news Wink

LPO · 07/06/2011 07:32

Thanks both! I did another test this morning and it came up with a REALLY faint line which worried me a bit. But having done a clearblue one last night which said positive, i think it's all ok.

Very early days I guess so lots can happen.

Wicket don't worry I'll keep hanging around this thread!!

OP posts:
BeeMyBaby · 07/06/2011 07:51

So LPO, will you wait a week then test again? That's what DH made me do to be super duper sure... then you will have to go and find the right anetenatal thread, when would you be due do you think?

LPO · 07/06/2011 08:12

Well having done 2 positive tests it looks ok. Will just wait and see if anything happens I guess and keep fingers crossed. Was debating doing another test today, but DH thinks I'm being silly.
Would be due around Valentine's Day.
What do you think? Do a third test to be sure?

OP posts:
BeeMyBaby · 07/06/2011 14:25

I think a third test next tuesday, and doesn't need to be an expensive one obviously, but no point doing another today.

eurochick · 07/06/2011 15:47

Awesome. That's fantastic news LPO!

How many of us are left on here from those that started TTC Jan 2011?

LPO · 07/06/2011 18:41

Ok bee will do that.
Thanks Euro How are you doing? You haven't checked in for a while. I'm not sure who's left, lots of people seem to have disappeared without any news.

OP posts:
LPO · 09/06/2011 07:23

I have woken up this morning with heavy bleeding. I know what it means. I am totally distraught.

OP posts:
blue22 · 09/06/2011 10:26

Oh LPO I'm so sorry. I was one of the original ones who disappeared without news as life kind of took over and DP went away for a month etc etc. Back trying now, but have been lurking here and was so chuffed for your BFP, and now can't believe what's happened.
Thinking of you and sending you Brew and hugs.
TTC is the most depressing thing I think - so full of heartache which is a shame because it should be such a wonderful thing. How you feeling now?

LPO · 09/06/2011 11:44

Thanks Blue I'm feeling fairly rubbish tbh. It's really heavy like a 3rd day of AF. Some people have said that it can happen but be ok, I don't see that happening though with it feeling like this. It's just to heavy.

OP posts:
BeeMyBaby · 09/06/2011 14:14

LPO will you make an appointment with your Dr? Ask them to do a blood test to check?

LPO · 09/06/2011 14:22

Hi Bee I'm going to give it a few days to see what happens and then do a test next week and see what it says. Sadly the bleeding is just getting heavier and the pains worse, so doesn't look very positive.
There isn't any point in rushing off to the doctors when it's so early on and they won't be able to do anything.
