And a girdle (thats what I was thinking of with belt post)

Ariesgirl · 03/01/2011 17:12

Like the Lady of the Green Kirtle, out of Arthurian legend. Pretty sure it's not the Lady of the Green Girdle.

PrincessBoo · 03/01/2011 18:05

Ladies in green girdles - sounds like a fab idea for a mini series starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. And us.

Truffkin · 04/01/2011 10:43

Morning BESH

Yes birthday was yesterday and thanks for all good wishes.

Boo I have no sense when it comes to shopping so will always say keep it. I am absolutely not the voice of reason in these times so feel free to ignore me at will. I do like that dress as well, am a fan of patterned shifts at the moment.

SunnyD spanks muchly, so nice to be missed! I am a sports fan generally and can even muster up the energy to like golf during the masters (not at most other times though, aside from Ian Poulter I find it quite dull). As far as cricket goes I can understand that test matches aren't everyone's cup of tea as they offer less bang for your buck than 20:20 does, although this current Ashes series has been providing practically one wicket per over! Three things I love about cricket are 1) cleverly crafted batting displays, 2) leaping 'against the odds' catches and 3) a well-cracked wicket taken by a fast bowler. I have also loved in this series, bowling the Aussies out for less than 100 runs and taking a test by a whole innnings, lovely. I appreciate for a non-cricket lover this is not interesting and seem to have whittered on for an age, shall I start on darts now? No?

Am glad other ESH are enjoying the kindle and apologies for confusing my Christmas gift with medieval fashion. I was a little dubious at first as I am a book lover and thought I would miss the actual book, in fact it is done very well so provides quite a book-like experience. It also means that I will a) not have to leave shoes at home when we go on holiday due to books taking up half of my baggage allowance and b) be able to move straight on to a new book rather than spending an hour feigning interest in the Evening Standard when I finish my latest read earlier than anticipated during my evening commute (so inconvenient Grin )

starnosemole · 04/01/2011 13:11

Morning BESH,
Right, I have emptied all the craop that needs sorting out of the garage into the house. Will the people who are going to sort it all out, box and label it neatly be here soon do you think?
Thanks for the Rufus charidee give away salad, I actually got an actual message from my mother on t'other place, who has never ever done such a thing before, to tell me that he and Greg Wise were on television together...am quite glad I missed it as may have popped something important if I'd seen that.
Hope all BESH are being positively angelic and sticking to their New Years revolutions- I was impeded slightly by the bank holiday/still some cider left, but have begun with renewed vigour this am- have wedding in august (not mine) which I feel is realistic target to be slender and willowy vaguely getting to normal sized by. Can't decide if I set my targets too far away though?
Ooh- did you see Amanda Holden giving hope to all BESHly types? I don't think much of her presenting skills, but always thought she was hilarious on that sitcom with Caroline Quentin which escapes me, so will let her off following poor career choices

(break required due to reappearence of BBB and needing to clear access way into house)

I think, partly due to fourteen boxes of overflow books in garage, but also due to envy, I NEED a wimple Kindle.

Ivegotmrbitey · 04/01/2011 15:31

Happy New Year BESHes! [Grin] at mental image of Maid Marian tucking things into her kindle!

Ivegotmrbitey · 04/01/2011 16:50

Grin even Blush

owlbooty · 04/01/2011 17:34

Hello my lovelies :)

Brief mememe post cos I have been for a scan and there is actually something in there!

Whoop!

It dances when the doctor pokes it with the ultrasound stick thingy!

Extra whoop!

Medee · 04/01/2011 17:39

woohoo!

Truffkin · 04/01/2011 18:32

Great news Wol hope you have enjoyed your day of Excellent News! I have enjoyed it for the cookies and beer, thanks very much

I have had a very productive day today and even managed some actual work Blush although not a great deal, as I simply couldn't deal with it this morning after such a lovely and long break! I have however done some washing up, cleaned the kitchen and had a mammoth cooking session so we now have home cooked stew, steak pie, lasagne and bolognese in the freezer. I did watch the Christmas edition of Strictly Come Dancing what I had recorded, so that was nice.

rocketleaf · 04/01/2011 19:45

Fabulous news shoeboots Do you think you might poke your head in the Deli now? It would be lovely to see you in there and there is laying happening as we speak, tis very exciting!

rocketleaf · 04/01/2011 19:45
laurielou · 04/01/2011 20:12

Woop Woop Owly. Tis all go for the BESH / PESH gang today...........

LadyGoneGaga · 04/01/2011 20:14

Fab news, Owlie - and dancing too. Already. I forsee a future on Strictly!

I second that, please come over to the Deli. xxx

rocketleaf · 04/01/2011 20:32

mmm truff, any lasagne going spare? :D

InTheSunshine · 04/01/2011 20:48

Hurrah for Wol. Glad you have seen your dancing baybee Grin

Truff fanks for cricket explanation. I love the darts too although athletics is my fave. Your cooking marathon sounds delish.

Moley when those people have finished packing those boxes at your house send them to me please. I keep dumping things in our attic. I went up there at the weekend and holy shit it is full of rubbish. I've added it to my list of things to forget about to do very soon.

Bitey what's new?

I took MS to boxing circuits tonight. He is now lying on the sofa moaning I hope he is not tired as we have to do the sechs later Hmm

PrincessBoo · 04/01/2011 21:48

Hey sexyboots am very :) to read of your scan and funky baybee. Ditto to Bitey (are you due date twinz?)

News chez Boo is a little sobering - first day back at work and we were all called in for a meeting with the head of service. Due to uncertainty of future with regard to grant funding we are all being put on the at risk register for redundancy. Will find out for sure at the end of March. I knew it was going to happen but it makes me worry about ttc again - although not enough to stop me - where there's a will the way, and where there's a willie, sperm and a fertile boo there'll hopefully be a baybee. Even if I will to breastfeed it until it's 15 becuase I won't be able to afford to feed it....

Ivegotmrbitey · 04/01/2011 21:51

Well since you ask sunny I has also seen ma baybee today! Had an early scan as midwife was worried the anxiety about what/ how many were actually in there was bad for me so off we trooped to the early pregnancy unit! Baybeebitey was lying on his/her back and waggling a foot in a very nonchalant fashion, and nowhere near as overwraught as her/his mother!

truff I have also made lasagne today!

Good luck with the sechs sunny, where is everyone else at?

Truffkin · 04/01/2011 22:00

Much excitement for the scan news and the deli is also hugely exciting with live laying in progress! It's a busy day for the ESH, I am pleased I contributed with my cookathon Grin

I discovered 'Got to Dance' tonight to amuse me whilst TGB was pacing up and down, shouting at the radio (football commentary). I liked it, especially the cute street dancing kids. I was a little Hmm at the small girl covered in make up and fake tan, however talented she may have been.

PrincessBoo · 04/01/2011 22:17

X-post Bitey I did see your post on PESH area and offered my congrats in my post above.

Where is Alpy? Is she still cross with me and my moon woo? ;)

InTheSunshine · 04/01/2011 22:24

Woop woop for Bitey&baby

I've just had a positive on the OPK.

(in the words of legendary rapper Ice T) Today was a good day.

InTheSunshine · 04/01/2011 22:26

Boo just read your post - not so good for you sorry (but laughing at thought of breast feeding a 15 year old....)

PrincessBoo · 04/01/2011 22:35

Sunny in the famous words of Jungle Boogie; 'get down, get down'. :o

PrincessBoo · 04/01/2011 23:04

So anyone got any jobs going then?

AlpinePony · 05/01/2011 05:32

Massive congratulations to owly and bitey. OMG real baybees and not just 2 oz of hamburger mince shoved up the foofoo! Grin

Boo I'm lurking - lots of horrible shit in personal life (baybee and man good though) right now has left me very low and we've not done the sechs for about a fortnight and being Jewish I do not believe in the baybee Jebus or the immaculate conception - so it's not going so well right now. Although have not yet OV'd so it's not game over yet. In other news - Bear got his first tooth through on Monday and all I can say is "BF until they're 15? Are you fucking insane ?". Wink Very sorry to hear about your work. :( My place is hiring actually - but for international sales work and they want you to be trilingual. Meh.
