Sorry you are having a hard time Alps :( here have this custard pie

Sorry for work news as well boo doesn't matter if you've seen it coming is still harsh especially if they are going to keep you hanging for 3 months before telling you what's going on, bloody government are bastards with these cuts :(

PrincessBoo · 05/01/2011 09:53

Alps here is a good link for breastfeeding babies with teef - helped me to get over that hump... www.kellymom.com/bf/older-baby/biting.html

Thanks for the job sympathy all- sorry I meant to say will find out at the end of Jan - contract ends at the end of March so am employed till then.

PrincessBoo · 05/01/2011 09:54

ps I speak french pony and can count to 100 in japanese - is that any good? Wink

AlpinePony · 05/01/2011 09:57

boo Actually yes, we would have jobs for English + French speakers - but not very "do-able" from your hometown. :( I'm a formula mum, so not worried about teeth at all! Grin

rocket Pls to have real custard tart?

OP posts:
owlbooty · 05/01/2011 10:19

Aw Boo that is shit and evil.

Where I work is still recruiting as they have an unholy amount of money given the current climate however I cannot tell you where it is without royally outing myself. Which I can appreciate is less than helpful. Also it is dahn sarf which I think you are not?

Bitey that is tip-top news and I am doing the special happy dance in your honour Grin

Pony I send you gin. Gin makes everything better. Although right now the custard tart sounds bloody lovely and I could definitely eat one of those.

I think I might actually go and visit the Deli now. I have been too scared to before. I shall go and bore them all with my random witterings. Lucky them. Grin

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/01/2011 11:30

Sorry boo being employed on grants is one big pile of shit isn't it? Also sorry to be so negative but am probably getting made redundant in May and I suspect finding a new job at 7 months diffed is going to be tricky! I have a cunning plan though and have applied for three jobs this week before I have to tell anyone I am diffed. Immoral? Probably, but so is the system we work in and I have a mortgage to pay! Can you start looking for another job now? By the time you apply and get interviewed and offered the job chances are you will know with more certainty about your current job?

Also sorry that you are having a rubbbish team skihorse and hope things turn around in the new year for you.

Sorry owlie for being so self scan obsessed and not congratulating you on your tinydancer, did mean to but got completely carried away! Blush Belated congratulations on lovely news, please accept this tasssel twirling performance by way of apology!

Hello everyoneelse too!

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/01/2011 11:32

Oh, can I just get some clarification re: the custard pie? Is it the one in the pastry case with nutmeg or the one that is sort of rectangular with cutard between two peices of flaky pastry and white icing? Because I only like the former and will stop my dribbling if we are talking about the latter!

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/01/2011 11:33

Cluster post, I am sure your team is not rubbish ski, just my typing!

rocketleaf · 05/01/2011 11:42

bitey you know they can't make you redundant when you are diffed if they are down sizing? You get first dibs at any positions that you are qualified to do? Unless they are closing the whole dept in which case I will shut up. (actually think we might have spoken of this before?)

Pie is custard tart type but I have placed some of left over fruit from the damson gin making in the bottom to make it extra alcoholic delicious. Other thing you are talking about is a custard slice just for clarification purposes.

rocketleaf · 05/01/2011 11:45

Also if you can save up, you might not be that much worse off? you only get 6 weeks on 90% then its the same amount a week from the govment but you don't pay tax on it. So bar the last month you would work and the extra 6 weeks pay its not that much extra? Although spose its the security of having a job to go back to you might be after...

soz, cluster posting galore here tooo.

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/01/2011 11:57

Thanks rocket but it's because my job is funded by a research grant and when that runs out so does my contract. If I got a longer contract ie one that would run throughout maternity leave I would actually get full pay for quite a long time then half pay provided I can get one with the same employers. I work for a university so the chances of this happening are actually not that bad. I am feeling a bit guilty about applying for these other jobs while diffed but it actually makes a difference of about £8k!

Thank you for clarfiying the pie situation too, I bloody hate custard slices but the pie sounds lush!

rocketleaf · 05/01/2011 12:07

Ah ok, that makes a LOT of sense then. I hope you get one of the 3 jobs, just act dumb about suddenly turning out to be pregnant, if people can manage to give birth in the back of a cab without knowing they were diffed then you can not have known for a few months ;-) Just hope you have a male boss and hint at irregular periods, they will not ask any further details :o

owlbooty · 05/01/2011 12:38

OMG custard vanilla slice thingy - I will eat that for you. And the custard tart. I luffs them both equally and am a greedy fecker when it comes to cake/puddings.

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/01/2011 12:56

I am going to the shops to BUY SOME CAKE! Real life cake and everything!

Medee · 05/01/2011 15:35

cake!

Ariesgirl · 05/01/2011 16:30

I love anything custardy.

starnosemole · 05/01/2011 16:53

I, on the other hand, would eat 74 custard slices, and stand on the offensive custard tarts just so I wouldn't have to look at them. But then I would have sticky shoes.

Congratulations on all the brilltastic scan news- ibitecake and bootyfulowl and sorry for rubbish job news boo and rubbish team time ski, and hello shebangs and ariadne (secret whoop to see you here more often) And hi medee

In memememememem news I have been got by C3P0's annoying bell end friend- Three days early this time, which gives me a never before experienced 27 days wtfcycle.WTF. I am obviously rationally pleased, since drank an absurd in December;probably thrice as much as would normally drink, thereby rendering 'dry November' void and useless in my quest to win a baybee through a moral victory over alcohol use. But gah all the same. And it's hurty. Sad and my BIL is coming for dinner, and I planned Thai Red Chicken curry, cunningly forgetting he usually lives in Thailand. That's going to go well then. I need violence and I need it now.

Ariesgirl · 05/01/2011 16:59

Haaaaa-ya!!! Take that! And that!

We are about to resume TTC. Am v v nervous about it. Would also like some violence pliz.

owlbooty · 05/01/2011 17:03
Ivegotmrbitey · 05/01/2011 17:36

I ate it! And a toffee crisp Blush

starry you and I need to come to some kind of arrangement vis a vis the world of custard pattiserie!

PrincessBoo · 05/01/2011 17:56

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYAAAAAAAA!

AlpinePony · 05/01/2011 17:56

Aries You require violence to do the sechs? Hmm

They're shifting out of the deli quickly - someone passed around some dodgy quail eggs and now they're laying like bantams. Roll up roll up for BESH grads!

OP posts:
PrincessBoo · 05/01/2011 17:58

I am feeling mega fruity for one so pre-droidal, non?

PrincessBoo · 05/01/2011 18:00

Yes Alps (sorry about the mix up with my teef advice btw) new recruits are needed as the ESH graduate. We need fresh meat...

Ariesgirl · 05/01/2011 18:31

Not the sechs. Not the sechs. Have been doing plenty of that, oh yes, ho ho ho

No, you know. The whole monthly cycle of hope vs despondency. Sigh.

But the custardy violence is most acceptable, thank you.
