Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

OP posts:
Truffkin · 28/01/2011 16:43

I meant to say Fingers that my periods are very light and only last 2 or 3 days at most. I used depo and then implanon as my contraception for 9 years and had no periods at all but to be honest I don't remember having particularly heavy / painful periods even before that when I was on the pill.

I used to think how lucky I was but now the exact same thing makes me worry that something is wrong! I chart my cycles so I am as sure as I can be that I am ovulating and my doctor seems to agree, plus my luteal phase is a good length so that looks ok.

Toria great news that things are starting for you and with any luck you can do a FCFU ironi-diff as well, this thread will be full of them!

zippys · 28/01/2011 18:21

Just wanted to pop my head in and let you know I am still lurking even if I don't post. I just want to give everyone a massive hug and sloppy kiss. No news here although wedding plans have been going well. Xxx

Truffkin · 28/01/2011 19:01

Truffkin · 29/01/2011 15:51

Congrats on the BFP Crazy hope all goes well for you! Hope you can enjoy your pregnancy once you get over the fear for now!

JosieSmith1 · 30/01/2011 08:27

Congrats Weimy!!!!!!!

I need a rant, apologies in advance! We have very little money and I have been agonising over what to spend my xmas money on. I have kept it, and now that we have 2 months free council tax we?re using that to do some very basic decorating - bookcase and about 4 rolls of wallpaper to do 2 walls (1 bedroom, 1 living room), but now the damn car has knackered, so the money is going to have to go on that instead. I?m really Angry. If it doesn?t cost too much (yeah right) we?ll have the rest of the money for some little things for the house, but not enough to do everything we want, even if I add my xmas money to it we won?t be able to do everything. It just really boils my blood when I?ve been struggling to get out of my overdraft in my personal account for over a year and nearly managed it this month (by £40, woohoo Angry) yet here?s DH?s parents rubbing it in our faces about how they?re getting a new car, new kitchen (for about £5000, the surfaces are antibacterial and the flooring is £22 per square metre but they thought it was worth the extra, blah fecking blah) and now they?re going on holiday to florida, yet again, for 2 weeks. Why can?t anything go the way I want it to go!!!!!!! AngryAngry All I wanted was to buy a damn bookcase and revitalise a couple of rooms with new wallpaper and bedside tables etc. ARGH!!!! And now I?m crying because we have no milk and I can?t have a cuppa and I can?t go out to get one because the car is knackered!!!!!

That is all?.

TomboyWife · 30/01/2011 09:41

Congrats Crazy! Grin

Aw Josie, I'm sorry you're having money troubles. I know how it feels to be constantly trying to climb out of a hole. We ran up a bunch of credit card debt in the wake of buying our place, and for a while we just couldn't get the balance down no matter how hard we tried. It completely did my head in. hugs and I hope things turn round for you soon.

(At the very least, I hope you get some milk so you can have your cuppa. Wink )

CaveMum · 30/01/2011 10:29

Massive congratulations Crazy

Josie sorry to hear that you are having money troubles. I hope things get sorted for you soon.

ToriaPumpkinHead · 30/01/2011 14:31

Congrats Crazy!

Sorry to hear you're having money trouble Josie Like Tomboy we're just about out of the black hole that was fixing our new house up. Dreadful isn't it?

Thanks Truff The Dr did say to me, when I asked what we should be doing, "You'll hate me for saying this, but try and relax." But then she gave me some useful advice and handed us the pathology kit so I wasn't too offended, and she at least realised what a bloody awful thing it is to say to people who are TTC so I'll let her off.

Also, I second Truff's request Zippys Tell us about the cake!

No other news really, we were meant to be going over to see the new baby tonight but they were released from hospital and managed to get home so are no longer on the same land mass as us. All are well as far as we know so that's good I suppose. Have had my hair chopped off, gone from a just past the shoulders layered cut to shoulder length with a MASSIVE thick fringe and lots of choppy layers that I have to wax into submission, but a good haircut is as good as a rest in my mind and I feel a million times better for it. Also had one of my friends here on Friday night who helped me demolish a bottle of wine and my best friend is coming up next weekend to go for hot stone massages and wedding dress shopping so should keep me going this week Smile

Congrats Alien..:) hello to eone else. Back fm lovely holiday. not looking forward to joining the ttc wagon. Sigh! Garden.. is there another thread for those that are on eh.hmm onto "stronger stuff" so to speak... Wd love to join you there... feel a bit awkward talking about the various trials and tribulations of assisted ttc while most of the lovely women here are not at the same place as some of us.
Zippys - Congrats on the wedding, wd love to listen in to the rest of the details when u have them...esp the dress. Toria - agree about the fab feeling piston a haircut. Had one before the holiday and love it... have mine short with many uneven layers.

JosieSmith1 · 30/01/2011 17:56

Just noticed I put congrat to the wrong peron in my last post Blush I think I was reading back and the last one I read was off weimy.

Congrats Alien Grin

Thanks for everyone's kinds words, I think I just needed to get it of my chest. I've been very up and down this week HmmGrin and even DH has noticed I'm very Angry at the minute! I've been having twinges and feeling a teeny tiny bit sickly at times, I so hope I'm not imagining things again! Will both be devestated if ERTD arrives on friday/saturday. I hate the 2ww!

We were naughty and took the car to asda, probably no a good idea but we made it there and back. Think the clutch is on its way out. Hoping to get it seen to tomorrow and fingers crossed it won't be too expensive! Haven't had my cuppa yet Shock been really busy cooking all afternoon so gonna have it later tonight.

weimy · 30/01/2011 18:43

Lol Josie hopefully that is a good omen for me for this month :)

I have really got my FX for you!

I think we are in a very similar situation to you, my car has been on my inlaws path for three weeks (clutch or gear box) they are in oz so I have stolen borrowed their car till we can afford to fix it. :( My DM keeps phoning to see if we need food parcels Blush.

toria hair sounds very nice!!!

JosieSmith1 · 31/01/2011 08:47

I was going for reverse psychology weimy Grin

My in laws picked us up yesterday to go to the yard and got halfway there then started talking about how he was probably still over the limit from the night before Shock Really appreciated that! And they arrived in a shiny new car, which I refused to acknowledge Grin. Can't get it booked in today but they've said they'll have a look and see what it is, then book us in and let us know if we should be driving it.

For those who are interested, my temp is higher than it has ever been Hmm but I hadn't been asleep for the last 3 hours so it might be false

Imps7 · 31/01/2011 09:11

Oh, lovely news of a BFP, congrats Crazy.

Toria glad you found the doc's appt productive - maybe the fact that you've started the investigation process will take some weight off your mind and help things along. My cousin's story always gives me hope - she and her DH tried for 9 years to conceive, including several rounds of IVF (not sure how many) but to no avail. They then decided to adopt a little boy - a week after he arrived, cousin found out she was expecting! Their two boys are 9 months apart! And if that wasn't fortune enough, they tried for another 5 years to conceive (no IVF this time as they had "proved" their bodies could do it themselves) but again without success. About a month after they'd made the decision to stop TTC, she found out she was pregnant again and had a lovely little girl. Something miraculous about it really.

Sorry, wittered on there for a bit, but it does should that the body can be cruel by depriving you of something that you really want, only to make up for it by giving you what you want after you've accepted that you can't have it (IYSWIM).

Imps

Fingerscrossed1 · 31/01/2011 09:38

Congrats Alien!!

Great to have a BFP at last!

JosieSmith1 · 31/01/2011 10:07

I know a couple of families at work who adopted then found out they were expecting naturally. Don't know their complete stories but it certainly seems to work that way!

The garage have quoted me £295 to fix the car. I don't even have that amount of money! I mustn't cry at work, I mustn't cry at work...........

Imps7 · 31/01/2011 10:19

Josie - so sorry about the car. Can you negotiate the price/get quotes elsewhere?

JosieSmith1 · 31/01/2011 10:37

We've had a second quote for the same. A friend at work knows someone with a spare parts business so she's asked them for a price for the parts, even if we can save a little bit it's better than nothing. It's all my decorating ,oney and xmas money and more down the pan SadAngry

We might need to give TTC a rest for a few months if I'm not pg this cycle. We're saving up to cover the bills while I'm on maternity leave but we're behind to start with, never mind this

Fingerscrossed1 · 31/01/2011 10:55

Josie I know exactly how you feel, we're struggling at the moment to get out of overdrafts, pay credit cards off etc. It really is crap. Try to keep your chin up sausage x

JosieSmith1 · 31/01/2011 11:00

Thanks Fingerscrossed. We've got a little bit saved up but it's only halfway to what we'll need for maternity leave and we only have a small amount of debt to my Mam so it's not like we're drowning, but it's really hard sometimes, and if I get pg and we can't afford it, the first thing to go will be my horse and I would obviously be devastated. Why is nothing straightforward?!

Fingerscrossed1 · 31/01/2011 11:20

Nothing is EVER straightforward, I absolutely agree. But things do tend to fall into place eventually.

I find it really hard because we still rent and we're going to find it really hard to buy as we're in the Lake District and you can't even a 2 bedroom house for under £200,000. Especially when you're TTC you feel you should be in your own house and financially secure etc...I'm surrounded by friends who all are which makes it harder.

Imps7 · 31/01/2011 11:43

Fingerscrossed it's funny you say that because some friends of mine are TTC and they've actually decided to sell their house and move into rented - they want to avoid maintenance costs/mortgage insurance/all those added expenses that come with owning while she's on mat leave.

Right, off to the dentist. Hate hate hate!

JosieSmith1 · 31/01/2011 12:05

We got a 100% mortgage literally about a month before they stopped doing them, and then prices crashed, so as a result we're in negative equity and can't get a fixed rate mortgage so we're on a tracker and it can vary month to month, which adds to the worry and uncertainty. Ultimately I am glad we bought when we did though, if we were still in rented we'd have no chance of getting on the property ladder. My friend is looking to buy and they have to find at least £16,000 deposit, it's just not possible
