Thanks Cavemum, we are in that horrible stage of the 'empty space' on the sofa and no one to feed our scraps to :(

My cat is looking at me like Hmm perhaps he is getting nervous, this year the pets have gone from 3 to 2 to 1..... Wink

Honey I'm ho-ome!!

Been a bit mad here, having a quiet day today though so thought I'd pop in and see you all.

Haven't updated in ages!

I am Cycle 13 UCL 36 CD 25

UCL has been worked out by fertility friend, which has also predicted that i have actually OV'd this month (Shock) and that we managed a bit of SWI on the day of ovulation. So fingers crossed.

I'm not due until 9th of Jan though, so long bloody wait.

Hope you are all ok!

Quiet in here! I've been around more than I wanted to because some of our family have been cut off by the snow so whereas we would normally be with them, we have been back at home with no plans as we had planned to be with them :( Got there for a quick visit today but going back on the weekend too for a longer visit.

Not sure what's going on with my EWCM. Still seem to have some. Been doing a fair bit of SWI so should be ok but I wouldn't think I'd ovulate much later than today..... might just have one last quick one to be sure. In the last 6 days we have SWI 8 times!!!! I am impressed with us. Shag cape is nearly worn out Blush

Sorry about BFN tigers but as womanly says its not over til ERTD arrives xx

TigerseyeMum · 28/12/2010 21:38

Thanks peeps :) I am actually on day 35 according to my calendar, though the list here says day 34 Confused So not sure....no ERTD yet though. My cycle is getting longer each month :( I am 37, I take it to be a bad sign...

Glad you have all been flying the flag though.

Small baby being fed next to me at the motorway service station this evening. Ho hum.

Back to work tomorrow....grrr!

Gobolino · 29/12/2010 10:42

Hi ladies,
Hope everyone had a lurrvely Christmas.
AF arrived on Boxing Day so I took full advantage with a tipple or six!
Am just popping on to say goodbye for now. I know I really have only just begun, but am finding myself coming on the boards and thinking about TTC more and more and I don't think it's helping me.
Have decided to take a more relaxed approach for a while and just enjoy SWI without worrying about symptom spotting etc. Hope that makes sense - I didn't want to just disappear without explaining why.
Lots of luck to everyone.
Gobolino x

DessieLou · 29/12/2010 18:19

Hello all you lovely ladies! It has been soooo long since I came on here so lots of reading to do.
Gobolino Hello, you must be new! It makes complete sense to stay away for a while. I don't come on very often nowadays which helps with the obsessiveness slightly but makes it extremely hard to keep track of everyones news! All the best to you.
Nothing exciting from me I'm afraid apart from finally getting regular FERTD so hopefully I can start keeping track of my cycle. Having said that SWI is most definately off the menu as we are still living with the in laws. They are very light sleepers and I find it extremely off putting, not to mention the dog which nows sleeps in our room!
Good news from my friend though. She has been trying for a while due to FERTD visiting for 3 weeks out of 4 (i will never moan again!) and has finally got a BFP! I am so pleased for her and oddly not one bit jealous...ok maybe a tiny bit!
I hope you all have a great New Year full of guilt free boozing! x

Evening ladies, Tiger I've moved you on a day so you're in line with your calendar.

Gobolino That's probably a good plan sweets. I know I find it hard to be on here sometimes, but the girls are always a great support when I need them, so if you need us don't be a stranger!

Kaloki I've put you back in the list with your updated stats, how exciting about your ovulating!

Raspberry Fingers crossed all your EWCM means you've got a super egg growing in there who wants to give you lots of chances to catch it Smile WRT getting married, I have no useful advice, we married really young as that's what you do where we come from!

Not a great Christmas in my house, more fallings out with family members and a few booze fuelled strops, doubt NY is going to be much fun either as we're spending it with OH's best friend and his moany whiney selfish ungrateful pregnant wife and then we're going straight South for OH's granny's funeral, so I probably wont be around for most of the next week or so. Rest assured I shall be doing my bit for the shag flag though, OH has been primed and warned and seems quite cheerful about the prospect! Grin After one argument we even discussed exactly what we're going to say to the Dr, and he was encouraging me to lie outright about dates rather than just bend the truth, beginning to think he actually wants us to have a baby! Wink

Right, I shall try to get on tomorrow night, but if I don't, have a lovely New Year ladies, and let's hope 2011 brings us all the luck in the world.

OP posts:
womanlytales · 30/12/2010 11:32

Hello ladies,
I read an article by this nutritionist who quipped - show me a woman who believes she has a 'sweet tooth' and I'll show you someone who isn't getting enough in bed!!! And there I was drooling away at the Bea's menu -- the new one on One Change..has anyone been? Afternoon tea is like the best treat with girls... but it's also the #1 forbidden one given all the sugars..
Best of luck Gobolina - my GP is a firm believer of 'taking a break' -- because all the women he asked to take a break came back pregnant.. I myself tune down the mumsnet involvement and it has helped me not stress / obsess as much. On the other hand, I LOVE the friendships here..and so .. it's really what we do here.. yes we're all ttcing and need some place to vent... but there are also other conversations that help us retain our sanity some perhaps?... Best of luck and hope you get your bfp soon.

Have a lovely New Year ladies :)

roundtable · 30/12/2010 16:22

Afternoon everyone I hope everyone is alright and keeping warm.

Sorry for the prolonged absence have been doing a lot of lurking not posting as have not been feeling myself.

To cut a long story short dh has been for a sperm count and everything is fine shop that just leaves me. Going to the docs tomorrow and feeling nervous about it but what will be well be I suppose.

On the plus side I actually felt myself ovulating the other day and so I weed on a stick as I thought I was going mad and two lines appeared! So bed has been very very busy over the last few days...and the sofa... Blush

ERTD arrived for me as expected yesterday so procedures didn't seem to impact on my cycle at all.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, but where are all these Christmas BFP's I'd been hoping for???

raspberrytipple · 30/12/2010 18:26

Evening all!!

Well, following chat with DP I am going to ring the Registry Office tomorrow to book a date for us to become DH/DW!!! I feel slightly sick with nerves but excited too. I have to be very careful with DP though, he is terrified for a couple of reasons:

  1. Money - he's worried I will get carried away and we will spend a fortune but we have agreed that it will be a Friday p.m. at the Registry office following by afternoon tea at my parents house as they have a beautiful gimungous house.
  1. the world and his wife will have to be there for the vows and he will be unbelievable nervous so we will literally have immediate family and a handful of our very best friends to the ceremony and invite a few others to tea in the afternoon.
  1. he doesn't want to do any talking really so we've been through the vows and a reading which will probably be done by the registrar.

I am more than happy with all the above because I HATE weddings and the whole 'you have to do this/that and the other....' Something small and very intimate will suit me down to the ground. I just want to be married, not to have a wedding if you know what I mean. I am excited though!! I guess this means I can officially say IM GETTING MARRIED!!!! aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh Grin

Not sure whats going on with ovulation. We didn't SWI yesterday or today but today I have again had loads of ECWM and I feel like I have ov pains but I am sure I had those on Boxing day too so goodness knows. I am officially all Shagged out at the moment though hopefully spermies will have hung on from our last shaggathon on Tuesday p.m.!!!

Back to normal soon :( Hope everyone has a fun New Years eve tomorrow and here's to 2011 being the bumper crop of BFPs.

ToriaPumpkinHead · 30/12/2010 18:48

OMG! Congratulations Raspberry! Have a fabulous day and enjoy it Grin

Roundtable Easier said than done I know, but try not to worry, if you are ovulating then chances are your body is just being awkward and it will eventually happen. I read somewhere that even if you get it right every month it takes an average of five months where the sperm meet the egg before one of them makes a baby. So keep at it!

My day today was made exponentially better by the announcement that we're spending NYE with the inlaws. Not normally something to cause cheer but it means I don't have to see they who moan a lot! Also means OH and I can have a drink as neither of us has to drive Grin

OP posts:
KalokiMallow · 30/12/2010 18:53

Raspberry That's brilliant news, congrats to you both!!

Small intimate weddings are absolutely lovely, means you get to spend time with your new DH on the day Grin It will be amazing for you, I'm sure of it!

TigerseyeMum · 30/12/2010 19:17

Raspberry how fantastic!!!! Grin Sounds perfect, and how lovely your OH has agreed to do things the way you also want to, just so much easier when you are both in tune.

I am a teensy bit jealous :)

I am very frustrated here. I have the pre-ambles to ERTD - crampy, achey, bad skin, wind etc etc, all the usual charming symptoms. But still no ERTD :( I want it to hurry up then bugger off so we can geton with SWIing again in the new year. I am day 37 now, longest cycle ever.

AND my in-laws (out-laws) are here for NYE, ooh joy, no arguments there then Hmm

roundtable hope your docs visit goes OK and if it is something then it is easily fixable.

JosieSmith1 · 30/12/2010 20:35

Raspberryy that's fantastic news, big congrats!

Enjoy NYE Toria

Nothin 2 report here, only 1 week of 2ww down so far. Felt really dizzy last night, so naturally I convinced myself it was a sign Hmm

Hope everyone is doing well xx

CaveMum · 30/12/2010 21:16

raspberry congrats for getting DP on side! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful day!

I shall be phoning the doctor to arrange an appointment some time next week. I've had a look on the NHS website which confirms that they will start investigating once periods have been absent for 6 m

CaveMum · 30/12/2010 21:22

Darn it all! Stupid iPhone!

As I was saying, the NHS will investigate once periods have been absent for 6 months - a landmark I've now reached.

There seem to be a few options to start with ranging from blood tests to ultrasound scans. My gut instinct is that it is a hormonal issue as my skin has been awful since coming off the Pill in May. Though it was never great to start with!

I don't have any other health issues - not overweight, not underweight, never smoked, take plenty of, but not excessive, exercise.

I shall no doubt be back to check in on y'all before the appointment, but will certainly let you know what the Doctor says!

Here's to a good 2011 - hopefully this time next year we'll all be complaining about lack of sleep due to our snuggly newborns!

zippys · 30/12/2010 21:39

Hello everyone. Thanks for all the congrats including the kiss!! wanted to wish everyone HappyNew Year. I am feeling miserable today FERTD arrived a week late (expected due to stress) and got a horrible cough. I think period pains are mother natures way of sticking two fingers up when you can't get pregnant!! Wanted to wish you all good luck for bfp in the new year. Xxx

JosieSmith1 · 31/12/2010 00:37

I hav a bit of a dilemma - been invited 2 friend's house 2nite 4 NYE party, but don't no if I can drink?! I'm either 10 or 8 DPO, wud it do any harm if I did happen 2 b upduffed?

raspberrytipple · 31/12/2010 07:28

I doubt it, don't think anything can get through at this point. It will only just be getting implanted i would imagine? Just have a few and don't get ratted!! That's my plan for tonight and we are having people over so I can't even pull the 'i'm driving' shizzle!

CaveMum · 31/12/2010 07:59

The embryo doesn't implant until around 10dpo and is totally self-sufficient until the placenta has formed. This happens at about 4 weeks so you'll be safe to have a few cheeky shandies!
