Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

CrazyAlien · 22/12/2010 14:48

hey everyone :)

ERTD is horrible, painful and heavy :( hate it, also worked out that I will be expecting ERTD when on a skiing holiday! so am going to pop to docs when I can and ask what they can do as I can't cope with it stuck up a mountain!

hope you are all ok, snow is slowly melting here and with payday tomorrow I am hoping to be mad and go get some pressies x

Fingerscrossed1 · 22/12/2010 14:57

Hi everyone Smile

I haven?t taken a test Slowshow as yesterday I didn?t feel sick and I don?t today either so I fear it may just have been a bug or something? Guess I?ll find out at the end of the month, AF due around the 30th so that?ll be nice if she does arrive just before ny eve Hmm

Josie re your food issues, I have a lovely Bolognese recipe straight from a real Italian nonna, I make it a lot and it?s v tasty ? You finely chop an onion and a clove of garlic and soften. Then add your mince (about 400-500g for this amount of onion etc) and brown. Then add a small glass of red wine and bubble away until there?s only a couple of tablespoons left. Then add a tin of good quality tomatoes (or fresh) and a really good squeeze of tomato puree. Add some beef stock, depends on how liquidy you want the sauce to be, I think I usually put in about a mug full of stock. Season with salt and pepper and add a bay leaf and simmer for a minimum of an hour and a half. I like it best when it?s been made the day before and then flavours have had chance to develop.

Chilli is another meal that freezes nicely?chicken pie, stews..can you tell I?m hungry?!

JosieSmith1 · 22/12/2010 15:27

Thanks FingersCrossed, that sounds lovely! I want plenty of things I can freeze at the weekend then just heat up after work, will save time and make sure I'm eating properly (ttc hasn't made any difference Xmas Blush)

I have gained 4 bottles of plonk this afternoon! All xmas gifts from the officers, bless them! We all work for certain people and my lot each brought a box of choccies in for us to share, then a bottle of wine for me personally to say thanks for the admin support I've given them over the year, how lovely!

weimy · 22/12/2010 15:46

Hi all am holding out till tomorrow to test. But finding it hard. Feel sickly and boobs sore but am convinced it is all in my head. Cup half empty an all you know! Did not make my counselling session because of the trains :( but on the bright side hubs xmas present arrived in the post and i had convinced myself it would not. It is my eldest dogs paw print in cobalt blue glass it looks lovely, also got him a horse riding lesson lol!

Fingerscrossed that receipe sounds fab will try it this week :)

am off to search the house now as the pup is looking very guiltyConfused

JosieSmith1 · 22/12/2010 17:31

Ooo Weimy what a good pressie for your hubby! I've got a canvas with my doggy's paw print on it (sort of!) Hope the pup hasn't eaten/ransacked anything (mine ate some choccy coins the other day, foil and all, then brought it all back up again) Fingers crossed for your test!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 22/12/2010 19:01

Evening ladies. Spotting started today (early, and not in the normal way, bleugh...) Feeling very sorry for myself and may have to crack on with the wine I opened last night while OH is at scouts... Went out and bought myself some Bee Pollen today as have been told it can help balance everything out.

Josie how about soup or lasagne? If you can find sealable containers they both keep well. Have just re-read and you said lasagne Caseroles and stews perhaps?

Weimy and Fingerscrossed I've got everything crossed for you!

Crazy that sucks! Have some chocolate cake.

I'll go and find the list and do it in a minute...

Josie sorry you have the lurgy, it is very nasty.

CrazyAlien what a pita about the ERTD, sorry it is painful for you.

I feel a teensy bit better today. My colleague also with swine flu has developed pneumonia :( poor girl is only 23. I had some chest pains, scared myself silly, then felt ok again.

My ERTD could be any day now as I am on day 28. No signs yet, but last few cycles have been 32-4 s we shall see. I have no feelings or inklings at all this month, tis very strange. I couldn't even tell if I ovulated. Maybe it's a sign... Grin

ToriaPumpkinHead · 22/12/2010 22:18

Just had to speak to OH's best friend's two year old as it's his birthday today. And one of our friends had a baby boy this morning and pictures have just appeared on bookface. Am now in tears on my couch. God I hate feeling this pathetic, fecking hormones... Had resisted the wine but might have one now before bed...

Tiger thats scary stuff about your colleague! Hope she starts to get better soon. Don't go scaring yourself lovely. Have just realised we're completely in sync. Hope your cycle ends more positively than mine! And not noticing anything is definitely a sign Xmas Wink

OP posts:
TigerseyeMum · 22/12/2010 22:58

Toria don't be tearful, your time will come :) You never know, the spotting might be a sign. Have a glass of vino, maybe a good book or TV, and have a good night's sleep. I never noticed we are in sync! I reckon all us frollickers will co-ordinate before long!

Tis my last day at work tomorrow, off for 5 whole days then. Yesssss!

I was going to get an early night. Ah well. Off to bed I toddle. In a bit...

ToriaPumpkinHead · 22/12/2010 23:14

Is it too late, at ten past eleven to pour myself a glass? I think not. OH is still on the phone to one the proud father of the two year old (whose wife is currently pregnant with their second) so he'll never even know to look at me disprovingly! And actually, given that he kept me awake most of last night after drinking his body weight in coke at the school party he can sod off.

Wow. Rant. Definitely PMT lol.

Enjoy your five days off, I am muchly jealous Xmas Grin

OP posts:
TigerseyeMum · 22/12/2010 23:17

Grin no of course it's not too late, how could it be? A nice nightcap.

I don't have PMT yet, in fact, my innards feel strangely....erm, not there Hmm What I mean is, after 20 years of abomnable period pain courtesy of endo, it all feels strangely, nothingey. Long may it last Grin

Are you working over Xmas Toria? It's a bank holiday you know.

ToriaPumpkinHead · 22/12/2010 23:24

I have a glass now Xmas Grin

Ooooh, that sounds very promising! I shall be keeping an eye on you!

I am working Christmas Eve, have Christmas Day off, and Boxing Day as we do alternates and I worked it last year, and then, bizarrely, I have the 27th off which means I can actually have a drink on Christmas Day and visit my family as planned on Boxing Day. This is unusual though, and I doubt I would have got it if we'd known when the rotas were drawn up that my colleague would be off with hyperemesis atm. I'm then working until Hogmanay, have the 1st and 2nd off and then I've taken a week's annual leave to go to OH's gran's funeral so will be back at work on the 9th of January. Last year I worked Christmas Eve, Boxing Day - New Year and the 4th onwards as the way the days fell we didn't open the 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Retail sucks sometimes. However, as I just told a friend, I sold a £2000 diamond bracelet today. And for just a second I got to wear it (to check length) and got to imagine that someone wanted to buy me £2000 worth of diamonds and white gold! Xmas Grin

OP posts:
TigerseyeMum · 22/12/2010 23:28

Diamonds and white gold!!!!! A girl can dream. 18 years I've been with my DP and still nuffink.

Nice that you have a good chunk of time off. I am working next week after the BH then off until the 10th. Uni essays to write though

ToriaPumpkinHead · 22/12/2010 23:32

Awww, send him to me, I'll give him my discout Wink

I am looking forward to my time off in Jan, despite the funeral. What are your essays on? That was my least favourite part of the "long winter break" when I was a student.

OP posts:
TigerseyeMum · 22/12/2010 23:44

Oooh, discount and alcohol! A good combination!

I work in health and have to do professional studies as part of my course. I basically have to write 11 short essays proving that I can do the job I am already doing Confused

It's fascinating and a great way to spend your annual leave Xmas Grin

I had better go to bed. Enjoy your tipple and have a good rest :)

ToriaPumpkinHead · 22/12/2010 23:55

Oh that sounds just fascinating!

Yeah, I probably should as well really. Sweet dreams, hope tomorrow's not too bad and then you can enjoy your break Smile

ToriaPumpkinHead · 23/12/2010 08:59

And yet another pregnancy has just been announced on bookface. To be fair, I did wonder why she hadn't posted drunken antics for a while... Oh well. ERTD is most definitely upon me so no more pretending it might be an implantation bleed and back to it. Working today and we have been manic for the last few days so hopefully that'll keepme occupied.

Happy Christmas Eve eve everybody! Xmas Grin

Well happy Christmas Eve, Eve girlies wurlies. How quickly has this come upon us!! I couldn't access MN yesterday at all as some virus hacked my laptop and wouldn't let me on!!! It's a conspiracy I tell ye......

Anyway, DP yelled at me then fixed it Grin so I'm back now.

Zippy yayee on the wedding date. I shall buy a hat in the sales in January! Congratulations xx

Tiger Poor you feeling poorly. Just grin and bear the needle, don't look, count to five and it will be over!! I always get the jab and am so pleased I do, I see people drop with flu every year and it is evil!

ohh Toria I hate it when people announce on FB, it makes me jealous and also a bit bored. Kind of feel obliged to put 'congratulations' but I don't really want to because Envy is eating me up inside. Sorry to hear about the spotting but your drinkathon was very much deserved.... hope the head isn't too bad today Grin

weimy I'm impressed with your Christmas presents - I am soooo crap at getting stuff for DP, he has to tell me what he wants for his main presents then I buy him little things, if I don't I know what he wants I get it wrong! Well done holding out on the testing. I've now had a test in the draw for two WHOLE months and not pee'd on it. Impressed - you should be!!!!! Grin

Crazy boo to ERTD, especially if it is going to happen on holiday. no fun for you! Hope the doctor can do something for you x

fingerscrossed I may have to try your recipe, it sounds lovely. I am in the same boat as Josie and my NYs resolution is to get some stuff frozen so I haven't got to cook in the week although to be fair I don't tend to stray past the salad and chicken breast/potatoes combo on week nights anyway so our diet isn't too bad. Good luck Josie - how about something like cottage pie or chicken curry?

Glad you are feeling a bit better slow It's a good idea to calm down a little bit from it sometimes, does the mental health a world of good. You may find that DP eventually will be happy to have the odd conversation about TTC soon if he doesn't feel the pressure to worry about it all the time. I try not to overload my DP for the same reasons you have found and occasionally something will trigger a discussion about TTC and before I know it we've been gabbing for an hour about baby clothes, names etc etc and although they are not frequent discussions they are lovely so hopefully you will be able to do that soon xx

hey Garden any news? Glad your not feeling to bad if ERTD is on its way, in a few months with IVF you will definitely be duffed up good and proper! That is if you don't already have three little pixies already growing in there - it ain't over till the fat red lady turns up!!

Truff sorry to hear about ERTD - hope it's gone before Christmas day so you can have a few cheeky drinks on the day! I know it's hard but try to enjoy spending time with the LOs and preggers SIL, it will be your turn soon! xx

Well, I managed to stay away from enough pies to successfully manage to get into LBD. Party is tonight. It is rather short and I was going to go with bare legs but after a dry run last night decided to go with tights. The main reason for this was that DP said 'bend over so I can see how much it rides up - stuff might be visible'. So being a good girl did as I was asked to which DP reacted by hoisting the flag and doing rude things to me while the simpsons was on in the living room over the poof!!!! Blush This was two hours after I had already donned the shag cape and waited for him to get home on the bed in sexy undies and killer heels. And neither session in aid of SWI - just good old Christmas fun Grin

Anyways, on that note Blush I am off. Hello to anyone I've missed and to the lurkers.... Have a very lovely Christmas to you all!!! xx Xmas Grin

weimy · 23/12/2010 10:55

gave in and tested it was -ve :( never mind there is always next month!

Merry Christmas all!!!

JosieSmith1 · 23/12/2010 11:40

Aw, sorry to hear that Weimy but glad you're getting ready for next month.

Sorry to Toria too but yippee for wine Xmas Grin

Well I have given it a slightly better go than normal this month as I think I usually ov on day 12 so did the deed on day 10 and 12 so fingers crossed I've caught it, and just in case I ov on day 14 this time I'm going to jump DH tonight (depending on how ill I feel, might encourage him to jump on me instead Xmas Grin)

Thanks for the food suggestions too, think I'm gonna try and make things easier by cutting veg straight away so I can just chuck it in the steamer when I get in, and cutting chicken etc in advance and making my own sauces so I can just throw it together. Have got lasagne, shpeherds pie, chicken things etc so doing well, thanks

highheelsandequations · 23/12/2010 14:36

Just popping in to wish everyone happy festivities Xmas Smile

Zippys great news on the wedding date Xmas Grin

raspberry PMSL at your antics after testing your LBD Xmas Wink

Hugs and mulled wine to those who've been feeling down and /or poorly.

We're definitely due for a bumper crop of new BFPs very soon so hoping for lots of good news from here over Christmas.

xxx

Truffkin · 23/12/2010 15:36

Annoyingly I just typed out a huge post and then left it too long before posting it and my connection had timed out so it's floating around cyber space somewhere!

In summary I thanked people for the sympathy and empathy re: FERTD and also reassured Raspberry that I was just wallowing a bit on CD 1 and will be absolutely enjoying my lovely Christmas with the whole family Xmas Grin

I also shared the love with all other frolickers who have been ERTD this week. On another thread there has been talk of the full moon making ERTDs nastier than normal, although I'm not a science buff it seems that something is making our lives more difficult this cycle!

Finally, I shared my own ideas for freezer cooking with Josie as this is something I do when I get a spurt of energy on a Sunday afternoon and cook us up some treats to keep for evenings when there isn't much time. I can't remember the whole list but definitely on there was bolognese, lasagne, curry, pie filling (then just use frozen puff pastry tops); chicken casserole, stew, cottage pie, fish pie and chilli. There are also a lot of meals that you can do quickly for weekday dinners and we tend to have similar things but mixed about to stop things getting to predictable! Stuff like stir fry veg wih a salmon fillet or chicken breast; fajitas quickly stir fried with chicken and loads of veg; tuna pasta bake and (shock horror) stir in pasta sauces as you can just chuck these over pasta, mix in a tin of tuna and put half a bag of bought salad on the side!

Right then, I'm about to finish work for my lovely Christmas break and am not back until 4th January Grin Grin Grin although I'm sure I'll be in here checking in again next week. Hope everyone has lovely festive times in the next few days and am hoping for some Christmas BFPs!
